Very good restaurant, friendly service... you can also call to order food so you don't have to wait? Or wait a long time sometimes very busy for takeout...

It's sad. They're getting worse and worse. Even a perfectly normal spring roll is inedible. Yuck. I really don't understand why customers still get food here. Since the change of ownership, the quality has gone downhill. It's a real shame. You won't see me here again.

This was the last time for us at Kota Radja. The food was very bad.

Unfortunately, it is not what it used to be. The kitchen sometimes cannot handle the crowds (some waited more than 45 minutes for takeout!!). Worse still, the food is not as fresh as it should be. Several people experienced stomach upset after eating the same menu. It really needs to improve!!!

This is really delicious food with a fantastic chef. I've picked it up 5 times now, and 5 times it was top-notch.

If you don't feel like cooking, I've been getting delicious Chinese and Indonesian dishes for the whole family here for years. I've never been disappointed!

We had dinner yesterday. I didn't even sit down, I had to order what I was going to drink. Yes, really quickly. Then we got what we ordered, I wouldn't write about the taste of the chicken. Of course, you could eat. The problem arose at home about three hours later. Diarrhea, vomiting, I thought about calling an ambulance. Today I still don't feel well, I have a headache, but for now it's better than yesterday. This dinner was a disaster for me. Never again to your place.

One of my favorite restaurants in Apeldoorn! I always feel welcome by the staff and the food is great. Portions are big, often enough for 2 people even for takeout. I really recommend their vegetarian options 😊

Chinese restaurant with traditional dishes as well as specialty Chinese cuisine. Our rijsttafel looked very well presented and tasted great. Parking is available behind the restaurant and on the other side of the street. Excellent value for money.

The food is good, but nothing special. Service is reasonable, considering the price: very good. You experience a standard Chinese atmosphere, so a somewhat distant, short-lived connection with the staff. It could be a bit warmer. The above review was valid under the previous owner. A very bad takeout experience. We had spring rolls, chicken satay, white rice, and tomato soup. The spring rolls were soft, had been prepared earlier, and were not tasty. Truly awful. The chicken satay was tasteless, the chicken wasn't marinated, and the satay sauce was straight out of a can or something. The tomato soup wasn't tomato soup at all; it was somewhere between vegetable soup and tomato soup. The lady was incredibly loud. We won't be coming back. We only have one Chinese restaurant in Apeldoorn, Shanghai on Arnhemseweg.

We've been coming here for at least 30 years, but unfortunately, the food has deteriorated dramatically since the change of ownership. The satay is in a container with sauce, so you have to fish it out (the satay wasn't good the last time), and the chicken curry is orange, which is oil instead of sauce. When you call, you get a rude lady who yells at you. We'll never come back here again.

This used to be one of the best in Apeldoorn, but since it changed owners, it's become a disaster. The nasi goreng and foe yong hai were burnt, the chicken satay was tough and dry, and the spring rolls were dripping with grease. Last time I'll be back!

After being very rudely contacted, I returned. I received half of my old order back with some new rice and spring rolls. I ordered pizza.

Update to the review below. Kota Radja has been under a new owner for a few months now. And while we used to be incredibly satisfied and never had any complaints, we now really don't like the takeout food anymore. We've also eaten at Kota Radja regularly lately, and the food was good then! But apparently, takeout means the current owner doesn't have to try as hard. Unfortunately, the customer service we were used to has completely disappeared. The workload is probably EXTREMELY high, causing them to be stressed. Not fun for guests and customers, and unhealthy for the staff. New owner: hire more staff and make sure the quality of takeout is just as good as when you dine in. If that happens, you'll get 5 stars again. Old review: We eat here every year with the family. Always delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. Very hospitable and customer-friendly! Also a great takeout restaurant. In short, highly recommended!

The restaurant is okay, but the prices on the website are out of date. For example, we paid €51 instead of €33.50 for an Indonesian rice table for two people.

Too bad they completely messed up the Sichuan san si recipe; no more shreds of meat but lumps, and leave out the pepper as listed on the menu; it was downright bland.

When I got home, the spring roll was missing (it happens, of course). But... After a phone call, the only response was, "Oh, can you come pick it up?" No apology on the phone. No option for a refund. No option for subsequent delivery. After picking it up (back to the other side of Apeldoorn), the rest of the food was cold, and the "koe yuk" (cow) was all stuck together. (Therefore, only 1 star.) Previously one of the better Chinese restaurants in Apeldoorn. Unfortunately, there was no sign of that this time. Bungling and absolutely no service!

We've been coming to Kota Radja for 25 years. Everything was delicious and perfect. The atmosphere, the friendliness, and the food were fantastic. Whenever we ate somewhere else, we always said: "That's not Kota Radja, is it?" But after the last two times we went there, we don't go anymore. It's really dirty. We heard there was a new owner. Such a shame.

We ordered catering for 30 people on Sunday. The food was delicious, everything delivered on time in warming containers. There were various dishes and side dishes, and plenty of crockery and cutlery. If we ran out, we could call them to replenish, but that wasn't necessary. The staff were very friendly, and we didn't have to wash dishes ourselves. And all for €15 per person! In short, a wonderful, delicious buffet with perfect service!

I have been coming to Kota Radja for years, but yesterday I got a bowl of nasi with kroepoek. It was really inedible. The nasi was tasteless and lukewarm and the kroepoek was not fresh. It was tough. This is really not the quality I am used to. This is also the last time I have been to Kota Radja.

Now that I read this I know that I am not the only one because a while ago I ordered a takeaway menu number 10 but because I was too early I got a snappy answer from a lady, I thought oh my, so I was waiting when the hatch opened and a meal was pushed through, well then it went wild; that lady pushed back with a loud voice and the chef too, it happened like that up to 3 times, I found it really unbelievable the takeaway area was full and everyone looked at each other. Then the number 10 normally more than enough but now it was disappointing (half containers) and all the sauces tasted the same, (brr salt just like ketchup) pieces of fat in the babi pangang brr the fou jong hai was a lump of egg So I will not go there anymore

takeaway for 20 years. had a dip but came out fine. chicken spring roll always tasted good. But now, new owner, thought to mix chicken with fish or in the same fryer. After a change in ownership, the food is different. The employees are not really busy. Sateh sauce is thicker and less tasty. Chicken curry is spicier and has a lot more oil or something like that. Panggang is also less than before. Shame!

Had Chinese takeaway last week and most of the dishes tasted good, but there were quite a few bones in the Ajam Pangang. This was disappointing and meant that we were not completely satisfied.

Picked up food after ordering by phone. Process is running - during rush hour around 6 p.m. - quickly, after 15 minutes food was ready. Quality and price (prices of the menu in the webshop are outdated) are okay, as is the friendliness of the staff and the food is well packaged and hot. Sufficient P-places. The furnishings are 'old-fashioned Chinese' and need modernisation. That's why 4 stars if you eat there.

Got the monthly menu, dishes had little taste, babi pangang very dry, no sauce and atjar, so that's done for now.

The food was delicious and the service, apart from one lady, was fine. The lady in question was unfriendly, lazy and constantly hovered over me and my mother to serve across the table. The menus were "thrown" on the table and a customer's napkin was used to serve the hot plates and it was also put back. Once again the food was delicious!!!

I had a nice New Year's Eve dinner here with my wife Lotus. Ordered a menu with i.a. duck, which was wonderfully tender. Dessert for me was stracciatella ice cream and a nice coffee. The price was not too bad for two people. If you are staying in Apeldoorn, this is a nice, quiet restaurant to eat with lovely people serving you.
