A great spot for a lovely morning of fishing. Excellent service and delicious coffee and sandwiches. Definitely worth coming back.

Adjacent to the canal where we fished (on both sides) was a pond for fly fishers. But the trout fishermen had to fish in the canal. Plenty of fish were released! This happened several times during our stay, with a wheelbarrow full of fish.

Went fishing here with four young guys (13 years old). Absolutely fantastic! We caught a lot of sturgeon. The boys had the time of their lives.

We were curious to see what the fishponds look like, so we took a walk around the area. We saw a small restaurant with restrooms outside and a spacious parking lot. The fishponds consist of water surrounded by islands. The whole area looks well-maintained, with neatly mowed grass.

My son and I come here fishing regularly. Wonderful! The place is beautiful and well-maintained. Peaceful. Unlike other fishing spots, there's help when you need it, and you're encouraged to handle the fish with care. They look healthy and undamaged. Rick is direct, attentive, and friendly. Just like the other people who work there. This creates a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere.

A fantastic birthday party with 50 guests at Trout Pond de Ruigenhoek. Rick and his colleagues served delicious apple pie and tiramisu. The venue was exceptionally relaxing. We had some rain at the start, but everyone was able to relax in the bright conservatory. The service was very friendly.

A wonderful afternoon of fishing with two friends. The grounds aren't too big, and we received a warm welcome and assistance. We enjoyed a nice beer by the water, and they even brought our order (bitterballen and spring rolls). Absolutely nothing to complain about. We'll definitely be back!

Today I wanted to fish and I had to wait half an hour to be helped. The coffee lady thought it was more important to chat with others and then say I'm coming, not so the last time I've been there.

Last Sunday, July 27, 2026, we thought we'd go fishing with a friend. Upon arrival, we had a good feeling about the place, small, cozy, and comfortable. I asked if it was always quiet here (which I'm used to), and was told it was busy for us. Due to the water temperature, there were no trout, so we'd go for catfish. We were politely asked, "Do you know where the pond is?" "No, okay, there's a colleague outside who will guide you." We thought, "Great." We arrived outside, and the boy was in a complete panic with a scale in his hand. He said, "Yes, I can't take you to the pond because they're catching a sturgeon that hasn't been caught in a while, so I have to weigh it." (Um, okay, you don't even know your own fish stock.) But okay. We were shown where the pond was, so we walked right over. Upon arrival, the pond was half-overgrown with reeds, so we sat somewhere open. A little later, a group of seven people joined us. And our fish still hasn't been released. (40 minutes later) The employee told me I wasn't allowed to cast in the middle of the pond. So I had to reel it in and fish a meter from the edge, while the group of seven cast in about halfway. After an hour, 20 catfish were released. Two catfish were released throughout the pond, including one weighing about 2 kg. When I looked in its mouth, there were still crayfish claws. These catfish have plenty to eat there. The park was open until 5:00 PM, and at 4:45 PM, we were asked to reel in our rods and leave the park before 5:00 PM. What I'm used to is that you're given time to clean your caught fish after that. First and last time for me!! Especially being sent away, and I responded with, "Okay, but you released the fish an hour later, yeah, it's busy, I can't do anything about that," was his response. Truly sad!!

What a fantastic mud day...wonderful by the water. It's small, but my son and I had a fantastic day of fishing. Please note that trout fishing isn't always possible. To compensate, you can fish for carp, sturgeon, or catfish. You can rent or buy rods and bait. Maybe we were lucky or skilled...we caught and released a lot!

Went here for the first time, had a great day, but the food could be a bit cheaper since you're not allowed to bring your own. We rented fishing rods, but if you have sturdy enough rods, I'd recommend bringing them.

Nice, not-too-large fishing pond where we caught a few sturgeon. Neatly arranged rods, bait, and groundbait, everything is provided. We caught some beautiful big fish. If that's your thing, you can have a great time here, and the staff is friendly.

I've been fishing in Utrecht a number of times with my daughters, a nice quiet location with varying catches. There are days when you are short of helping daughters who then have a big fish in their hands. The owner, a big, sturdy man, is always friendly to us and always helpful and has good tips! We will definitely keep coming back.

Not recommended. First of all, not suitable for young children as the communication skills of the staff (especially the owner) do not match this (neatly described). In addition, after arrival we were told in detail that we had to come at 0900 or 1300 for trout fishing (we arrived around 1030, and there was hardly anyone there), because 'he didn't feel like refilling that pond all morning'. After that whole argument he was 'willing to make an exception' - followed by the text that trout fishing was not going to work today because there were no more trout at all... (!). 10 minutes of my life that I will never get back... To save the morning with my 8-year-old, but opted for the catch and release of sturgeon/catfish. Despite the explanation and good intentions, during the second catch we were reminded in a rather fierce tone that we had done too much damage to the fish in question by attempting to remove the hook. The 'angry young man' caused big shocked eyes for my 8-year-old son... We also witnessed the neighbors who allegedly used the fishing net incorrectly: the handle broke off, which was clearly the result of mediocre material in combination with the quite large fish... All in all, not the nice, relaxing fishing morning that my 8-year-old son and I had hoped for. We won't be coming back here again. There are plenty of other places where things are very different…

We had a company outing last week. We were fishing with 7 people and only caught 4 fish in total. An employee proudly announced that he had already caught 20 sturgeons that day. That doesn't seem very practical to me if you know that a whole group comes to fish for a fee in the afternoon. They will never see us here again!

If you honestly say in advance that you have no experience, people will always be helpful (unsolicited). And yes there are rules, but that makes sense. The owner is careful with his fish. In short: here your child will learn to fish in a safe environment. Recommended!

We had a SUPER day. The three of us were at the pond for sturgeon and catfish. The explanation and materials were good. Joey gave us great tips and when we had a 1.6 meter sturgeon on the line he helped us so much. The owner is great! He has a huge passion and takes very good care of this place. Yesterday we spent a morning fishing with the family in the sturgeon/catfish pond Had a nice day and caught nice fish. When we fished for the first time, an enthusiastic employee immediately came to see if we needed help. The owner was also friendly and helpful, we had a nice morning.

We, my wife and my buddy, fished for sturgeon, catfish and carp. The fishing there is very primitive and the equipment, especially the hooks, leaders, landing net and unhooking mat (you can't actually call it that because it was an old rag) were damaged and broken! Not desirable for a recreational pond and above all this does NOT benefit fish safety and the health of the fish! Advice: replace that old junk and buy new stuff. The site is also not in good condition with no trash can on the waterfront and the only bench is completely overgrown with nettles and the paving is downright slippery and dangerous and needs to be replaced. The rods and reels, on the other hand, are solid. Unfortunately, you do not get a thorough explanation at the start and the moment you catch something an employee flies over to tell you what you are doing wrong and that is quite annoying as an experienced fisherman and creates a tense atmosphere. is not desirable for a 'fun' day out. The owner is quite a pedantic man who is impossible to talk to, he expects you to listen to him, his will is law and the man does not tolerate contradiction. We caught well, including several sturgeons and catfish. Unfortunately, several fish had a lot of damage to their pelvis. I propose to deal with this immediately, it should also be part of the standard equipment. Proper pliers and wound spray for any damage would also not be an unnecessary luxury. All in all a reasonable day out, the fish make up for a lot! If you have never fished and you want to catch some big, special fish, it is a nice place, but for the experienced fisherman this is not a nice place! You won't see us here again!!

Once again unfortunately nothing was caught in the trout pond with the fly rod. There are some big trout in there because you often see them jumping high. But she didn't want to bite. The slope next to the pond could be mowed a little shorter. And in some parts there are just too many trees close together, which will probably become annoying when fly fishing on a busy day.

Enjoyed fishing on the large pond. Lots of carp, trout, tench and cross carp caught! Ideal for a fun day of fishing with less heavy artillery than on the sturgeon pond.

Highly recommended! Staff are constantly breathing down your neck to make sure you are doing everything correctly. They even spy on you from the house! The catch was also not great and the fish were all very small. Next time I will go to Toms Creek again where you get value for money and good service!

Ik ben normaal niet van de betaalvijvers. Maar voor deze vijver maak ik graag een uitzondering. De vissen zijn in topconditie en vrijwel onbeschadigd, Erg sterk en goed te vangen. Vind het vooral leuk dat er zoveel soorten zitten. Je kan een meerval, diverse Steurensoorten of (Gras)karper vangen. En daarna kan je nog een lekker koud biertje drinken op het terras. Of lekker gaan lunchen

Lekker volle bak in de zon gevist, natuurlijk veel te warm om iets te vangen maar gelukkig kregen we een vis of 9 mee naderhand. Lekker pilsjes en vriendelijke service. De eigenaar is top👍🏼

Vandaag heerlijk wezen vissen en aardig wat mogen binnenhengelen, Echt hele mooie vissen, prachtige omgeving, en een hele aardige eigenaar en behulpzaam personeel. Al met al een geweldige ervaring en komen snel een keer weer.

Een zeer fijne en gezellige sfeer , een zeer vriendelijke eigenaar die gewoon eerlijk is en een hard voor zijn zaak. Maar zeker een aanrader om hier lekker je hobby uit te oefenen , van uit Friesland gekomen maar een onvergetelijke leuke dag gehad.

Met 4 man 9 forellen weten te vangen. Was lekker rustig aan de vijver. Heerlijk bier, gezellig, zeker klantvriendelijk beste man houd van een leuk geintje komen wij zeker nog een keer terug 👌🏻

Leuke vijver om te vissen op karper en steur en meerval. Maar nog leuker om te vliegvissen op forel. Sfeer is altijd gezellig en een mooie omgeving. Ik kom er graag om wat te ontspannen.

Middagje zitten borrelen met collega's. Zeker een mooie plek maar van klantvriendelijkheid niet echt te spreken. €75 voor twee borrelplateaus is ronduit absurd. Prijzen van eten en drinken zijn online niet te vinden. Wij gaan met onze groep voortaan naar een andere plek. Edit: thanks voor de reactie. Collega's waren zeer zeker niet enthousiast en hebben aangespoord tot deze review.

Broodjes moesten nog gehaald worden voor ontbijt: 'kwartiertje'. Uiteindelijk meer dan een uur moeten wachten. Broodjes waren oke. Overal bordjes 'je mag niet.....': dat komt weinig uitnodigend over. Wel mooi uitzicht. Alleen zijn er horzels (steekvliegen).

Een geweldige visvijver en een geweldige eigenaar

Vissen was leuk, sfeer was prima zit met 1 iemand anders in de vijver. Alleen eigenaar is niet echt gastvriendelijk verder leuk gevist. Over eten en drinken je eigen drinken mag geen eens mee worden genomen ook geen water! Eten is duur.

Onthaasten met een drankje en/of ontspannen visssen. Een kopje koffie met wat lekkers, een lunch, bittergarnituur met een glas koud glas bier van de tap of meer, bijvoorbeeld na een lekkere wandel of fietstocht neerploffen op een heerlijk ruim terras. Tegelijkertijd zie je vissers de grootste vissen gevangen worden, zoals: steur, forel of meerval. Je kan ook zelf vissen: op steur, meerval, of vliegvissen op mooie felle forel. Al met al een heerlijke plek om even lekker te onthaasten: weg uit de drukte in een mooie omgeving. En niet onbelangrijk: met vriendelijk personeel.
