One star for the portion size; otherwise, we were very disappointed. The first two or three fries were okay, but the rest were soggy. They needed salt. This place is living off its reputation.

The hand cut chips are freshly prepared for each customer, once you place an order, they cut the potato, fries and serves. The bitterballen is delicious too. The place is a take away shop front, I don't know what to score on atmosphere.

Had delicious fresh fries and a crispy chicken burger. Good portions; a small portion of fries with a hamburger was more than enough. And a friendly owner too. Definitely recommended!

Truly amazing food; we needed something quick to keep us full for a bit, but for a great price, we got enough food to stay full all evening. The toppings—we had the horse meat and a truffle mayo—were both really delicious. The next time I'm in Maastricht, I will definitely be back.

Very good food at a reasonable price in Maastricht. We ordered large fries with cheese and bacon and a spicy chicken burger. The burger had great meat, which was super crispy, the bun was soft, and the lettuce and tomato tasted like they should, not like paper. The fries were amazing. The portion was so large that you could easily fill up on this item. The fries were crispy, clearly fresh, not frozen. The sauce was a bit cheesy. They were a bit lacking in salt, and when we ate the last part of the fries, there was neither sauce nor salt. The service was energetic and friendly. I highly recommend this place.

Had a chicken Burger here earlier. The fried chicken was really tasty ! Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. What was very odd was that the buns were not toasted and still cold from the refrigerator. I’m not sure whether it was supposed to be served this way but I found it quite strange.

The fries were perfect and very tasty. 😍 Fries just the way they should be. Fresh, made with love, and the skin was still on. Unfortunately, we couldn't sit down while we ate because the sun was shining directly onto the street. It was too hot. Going inside wasn't an option either. Friedt doesn't have a trash can outside, and there aren't any nearby either. That's a bit of a bummer. So, after eating, we returned the empty packaging to the restaurant.

Two days in The Hague = six servings of fries for me 😊 I've tried them all, but Friedt is in a league of its own: Better than the classic Reitz (Maastricht). Better than Frittenwerk (Germany). And better than the famous Friterie du Perron in Liège. Why? The texture is simply unbeatable – freshly pressed from whole potatoes every day. You can immediately tell that they work with passion and the best ingredients. The sauces aren't standard either, but true craftsmanship. Add to that the vibe: a super friendly team, a stylish place, and simply a genuinely authentic culinary experience. An absolute must for anyone eating (fries) in Maastricht.

I wanted to try the legendary fries, but I was disappointed. The fries weren't salty or crispy, but the sauces were a disaster. The ketchup and Zaanse mayo were so sour, it was literally just vinegar. We ordered two medium-sized portions, but I'm not sure if we ate maybe a quarter of each. I'm disappointed; we paid 15 euros and only felt a stomach ache. I think that besides the fries, the sauces are also key – in this case, the sauces ruined everything.

The owner is incredibly friendly and good-looking. I could easily become a model. The fries were delicious. It's as if the fryer on duty knows exactly what I like. The skins are still on for the micronutrients—almost healthier than a salad!

The fries were good, but the overall experience was disappointing. The wait was incredibly long: there were two of us, with only two people ahead of us, and we still waited 15-20 minutes. There's only one small bench to eat at, so it's not very convenient. The staff weren't very welcoming, and we had trouble understanding each other. The kitchen is open, and we saw them cutting the fries by hand, but they weren't washing them 😐 The price is also quite high (around €6 a pack). Even if it's homemade, it's still expensive for what it is.

Wanted some nice fries. Took the XXL cone. We asked for it to go so we could eat it at home. Sadly he was not able to put it in a closed bag ( like a bag that the have for the family zakken ). Did not ask for more fies. Just for the bag so when we get home that the fries would not be cold. Well that was not possible. Sad to see. As expected, fries are cold so they went up in the bin. €6,50 wasted on cold fries. Would not recommend the service.

The Friedt is fine, indeed handmade, not cheap. The whole setting is less so: a tiny bench, you're treated to cigarette smoke by the waiting Thuisbezorgd employee (how on earth can you be too lazy to get your Friedt yourself, of course it's expensive and less tasty then), the people waiting, and an employee... There's no trash bin anywhere for your bag. Pretty antisocial of a business that still generates a considerable amount of waste. The cost of cleaning up waste is therefore passed on to the municipality because you see the trash lying around. Even the neighboring pizzeria can do a thing or two in this regard.

The orders were being packed one by one, and it seemed like there weren't enough people in the restaurant to handle the pressure. I think it was already half an hour before we were even able to order. Besides the fact that it took so long to order, the bag of fries wasn't very large. It was only three-quarters full, and there was a ton of sauce. It was tasty, but I wouldn't recommend standing in the rain for this.

Best fries in Maastricht! Went at least once a week during my time here. Must get the fries with truffle mayo, it is a game changer!! Fries are fresh and service is fast. Not much seating area other than a small bench, so excellent for grab and go. They also have a takeout option.

These were the best fries we have eaten. Very fresh, you couldn't taste the oil at all, which means that under no circumstances was old frying oil used. The fries are served with the skin on, which just makes them super crispy. You can add salt yourself as desired, so it's optimal. The sauces are also very tasty. Unfortunately there is no seating, so 1 star deduction for ambience.

The fries at Friedt Maastricht are very tasty. We once had the fries with parmesan cheese and truffle sauce. The harmony between the two toppings was outstanding. You could taste the truffle well in the truffle sauce. We also had the fries with ketchup. The ketchup was fruity and had a hint of cinnamon in the taste, which made it even tastier. That's why I would say it was one of the best fries experiences I've had in a long time because the sauces went well with the fries.

Very tasty fries, the Frikandel was also good. The preparation took a little longer, but the price was appropriate for the quality.

Unfortunately, they were full of greasy fries, the taste was ok but nothing more. The stand was empty so we had a lot of small hard waste fries in our bag. Caution is advised to avoid damaging the tooth. I know this much better in the Netherlands.

Chip shop on the way to the center of Maastricht. Prices are OK. Portions too. Cheese soufflet and kiokorn normal. The fries are standard for Belgium. / Dutch fries. Unfortunately, with my small portion, there were a lot of small and too crispy pieces.

Friedt in Maastricht absolutely convinced us, and for that we give it 5 stars! The special fries were incredibly tasty – crispy, fresh and perfectly combined with the sauce and onions. You can immediately tell that a lot of emphasis is placed on quality and taste here. Another plus point: You can easily pay by card, which makes the whole process really pleasant. Although the shop was a little further away from our starting point, the journey was definitely worth it. Although there is no seating and you have to take the food with you, this is completely offset by the great quality and taste. Friedt is definitely worth recommending, we would love to come back!
