Friedt Maastricht in Wijk 00 Centrum

The fries were good, but the overall experience was disappointing. The wait was incredibly long: there were two of us, with only two people ahead of us, and we still waited 15-20 minutes. There's only one small bench to eat at, so it's not very convenient. The staff weren't very welcoming, and we had trouble understanding each other. The kitchen is open, and we saw them cutting the fries by hand, but they weren't washing them 😐 The price is also quite high (around €6 a pack). Even if it's homemade, it's still expensive for what it is.

Wanted some nice fries. Took the XXL cone. We asked for it to go so we could eat it at home. Sadly he was not able to put it in a closed bag ( like a bag that the have for the family zakken ). Did not ask for more fies. Just for the bag so when we get home that the fries would not be cold. Well that was not possible. Sad to see. As expected, fries are cold so they went up in the bin. €6,50 wasted on cold fries. Would not recommend the service.

The Friedt is fine, indeed handmade, not cheap. The whole setting is less so: a tiny bench, you're treated to cigarette smoke by the waiting Thuisbezorgd employee (how on earth can you be too lazy to get your Friedt yourself, of course it's expensive and less tasty then), the people waiting, and an employee... There's no trash bin anywhere for your bag. Pretty antisocial of a business that still generates a considerable amount of waste. The cost of cleaning up waste is therefore passed on to the municipality because you see the trash lying around. Even the neighboring pizzeria can do a thing or two in this regard.

I asked about vegan options, the servers were rude and dismissive and failed to mention that the fries are fried in animal fat themselves. Do not account for dietary intolerances, unprofessional service.

The fries were delicious. Super tasty, but such a shame about the service. We arrived and there was already a long line waiting outside. Usually, this is a good sign, but not in this case. The orders were being packed one by one, and it seemed like there weren't enough people in the restaurant to handle the pressure. I think it was already half an hour before we were even able to order. Besides the fact that it took so long to order, the bag of fries wasn't very large. It was only three-quarters full, and there was a ton of sauce. It was tasty, but I wouldn't recommend standing in the rain for this.

Worst frituur I've ever visited in the Netherlands. I quickly paid, then waited 27 minutes. Instead of making fries, the clerk just hung up on his phone. The portion was a good size, but the fries were as cold as the Coke. The crap quickly went in the trash. Never again.

Best fries in Maastricht! Went at least once a week during my time here. Must get the fries with truffle mayo, it is a game changer!! Fries are fresh and service is fast. Not much seating area other than a small bench, so excellent for grab and go. They also have a takeout option.

These were the best fries we have eaten. Very fresh, you couldn't taste the oil at all, which means that under no circumstances was old frying oil used. The fries are served with the skin on, which just makes them super crispy. You can add salt yourself as desired, so it's optimal. The sauces are also very tasty. Unfortunately there is no seating, so 1 star deduction for ambience.

The fries at Friedt Maastricht are very tasty. We once had the fries with parmesan cheese and truffle sauce. The harmony between the two toppings was outstanding. You could taste the truffle well in the truffle sauce. We also had the fries with ketchup. The ketchup was fruity and had a hint of cinnamon in the taste, which made it even tastier. That's why I would say it was one of the best fries experiences I've had in a long time because the sauces went well with the fries.

Fries are super tasty and friendly staff. We will definitely come back :)

Very tasty fries, the Frikandel was also good. The preparation took a little longer, but the price was appropriate for the quality.

Unfortunately, they were full of greasy fries, the taste was ok but nothing more. The stand was empty so we had a lot of small hard waste fries in our bag. Caution is advised to avoid damaging the tooth. I know this much better in the Netherlands.

No recommendation and disappointing. Rarely have I had such bad fries. Less than 10 minutes and the fries are inedible and tasteless. Good French fries also taste crispy and good cold. The frikandel is extremely floury and the bitterballen were also tasteless.

Chip shop on the way to the center of Maastricht. Prices are OK. Portions too. Cheese soufflet and kiokorn normal. The fries are standard for Belgium. / Dutch fries. Unfortunately, with my small portion, there were a lot of small and too crispy pieces.

ordered 2 snacks and a special fries, which they then gave to me without asking if it needed to be in a bag. I ask if they can put it in a bag, and then I get home and it's normal fries instead of special. Which costs €5.60. Ridiculous.

Friedt in Maastricht absolutely convinced us, and for that we give it 5 stars! The special fries were incredibly tasty – crispy, fresh and perfectly combined with the sauce and onions. You can immediately tell that a lot of emphasis is placed on quality and taste here. Another plus point: You can easily pay by card, which makes the whole process really pleasant. Although the shop was a little further away from our starting point, the journey was definitely worth it. Although there is no seating and you have to take the food with you, this is completely offset by the great quality and taste. Friedt is definitely worth recommending, we would love to come back!

First time I tried fries in Maastricht, friedt has one of the best!! Especially the service. The tall Australian guy who made the fries was really friendly and nice to us. I highly recommend this place to everyone who is visiting Maastricht.

This is the only place in the Maastricht area that actually uses fresh, hand-cut fries! Crispy, golden brown, but wonderfully soft on the inside. The staff is also always very helpful! I have now become a regular customer.

Too few fries for too much money, mayonnaise was not tasty at all, fries were also disappointing, we walked away with the cones only to find out that there were no forks or napkins at all, so there was a lot of mess. Still feeling nauseous after dinner from that mayonnaise, next time I'll just have to stand in line at Reitz It wasn't that incredibly bad, I didn't write that and at Reitz it was also disappointing, the fries were not cooked properly, just like those limp fries of yours and I wrote something about the vegetarian choice that surprised me, I'm not just writing but bad reviews I write down my experiences and most of them are a lot less good than they should be because in many places too much money is asked for too little quality, but most people apparently think that it is all okay, the standards have been lowered quite a bit. Read my review of vd Valk, you get value for your money! Quality and class, you just sell fries and that could even be much better!

We visited some "chip dealers" in the Netherlands/Belgium last week. And this place had by far the best french fries. It's relatively small, the hand-cut fries are freshly prepared, so the waiting time is short, but simply delicious!

Fries distribution right on the street. Extremely delicious. The hot fries come with skin on and the mayo tastes fantastic. Simply perfect. The service was super nice. No seating. Always my pleasure. An insider tip for comfortable seating is the entrance to the university right at the street intersection. 5 benches in the shade and a fountain.

A very good fries and for 4.7 stars it's worth the trip. It's a little outside of the city center but worth it. The fries were super crispy and the sauces that came with them were super tasty. The prices were okay for the quality and size of the portions. However, you can only take the food away and there aren't too many places to sit nearby. You should take that into account or keep an eye on the weather!!! Beyond that, I can recommend the shop to every fries lover who is in Maastricht 👍

Something is clearly going wrong between your home delivery and takeaway. This can also be seen in your reviews on Google and Thuisbezorgd. I'm sorry, but there were a total of 24 fried bits in my container - a quarter of which are hard pieces of inedible stone - and 2 tablespoons of 'sauce'. I think I have the courage to dare to charge €9.75 for this. The sauce is not smooth but a big lump of gunk stuck together. (no, this doesn't belong with black chicken) This pathetic little bowl of fried food with a snack costs just €16.48. If you charge service costs to "improve your service" (who comes up with this nonsense, dude) then you also improve quality. I believe you are really doing your best, but if the owner himself is not in his shop, it is clear that things are being cut short. And that's not the first time. This isn't worth $16, this has happened a few times now and I'm done with it. I don't need a refund or standard responses to a bad review, this was the last time.

I came all the way to Maastricht from Cork Ireland to try these fries and can I just say 100% they were worth it. I came with a friend of mine and we were both flabbergasted by how good they were. Also a special shout-out to Ruben who provided us with amazing customer service and gave me some excellent recommendations on which sauce I should pair with my fries. 5/5 overall!

Anyway, we were in the mood for fries and you've come to the right place. A tiny little shop, only to go is recommended. You order your fries and sauces at the small window and then pick them up inside. Very fresh, very tasty, the mayo is very good and tasty. The prices are totally ok & the portions are great. We were happy and would love to come back.
