The fries weren't cooked properly. Some were half-baked and clumped together. As a result, three or four were cooked together. I think it was a matter of paying close attention during cooking. Others were nice and crispy.

This is a huge disappointment for Beo fans, but the good news is that 't Kamrad in Hilversum recently started selling the real Beo croquette! Regarding the reaction from the chip shop, I'm incredibly fond of change, but there's only one kind of change I can't stand: a negative change in quality. Judging by most of the reviews, I'm not the only one!

Got some delicious fries today. However, there was a slightly older man working with a young boy. He apparently thought the boy was doing something wrong. He was yelling at the young boy about how he was doing everything wrong. The young boy remained polite. Whatever's going on, you don't do that in a shop full of customers.

The fries are served in large cone-shaped cartons. That's no problem if you ordered fries without them. But how do you eat fries with "oorlog" sauce or something similar when the sauce is simply poured on top? Why not in containers? Clearly, this hasn't been thought through.

Everything was good, a small place to eat some good fries or a sandwich. It's a bit funny that the sandwich has nothing other then meat & sauce (no veggies of any kind) - but the bun was soft and fresh, the meat amazing & the sauce excellent. So i would definitely recommend for a nice, fairly priced snack!

It’s a wonderful place to have a snack or ice cream. The food is tasty and affordable. The little cone ice cream with coffee was such a nice touch, loved it! The service is impeccable and the lovely lady in the store made us feel very welcome.

Accidentally ordered from the snack bar in Laren, North Holland, instead of Gelderland, but the service was still fantastic! My mother and I were looking forward to the truffle croquettes and truffle-parmesan fries. Until we realized on the way that we'd ordered from the wrong snack bar, in Laren, North Holland, instead of Laren, Gelderland. A stupid mistake on our part, but when I called them back later, they immediately looked for a solution! Very friendly! Unfortunately, no truffle croquettes or truffle-parmesan fries. The next time we're in Laren, North Holland, we'll definitely go there.

There's just mold on the sandwiches, it's really unbearable. What a waste of time from Beo! Now I understand why Jansen is so busy. I called, but I couldn't get an apology yet.

Fancy fries are not what Laren wants. And certainly no strange additions. I wish Beo was back. Above was my comment a few months ago. And nothing has changed. No old cheese sandwich, no roast beef sandwich, but fancy unpeeled potato fries. Randstad food, inappropriate in a village snack bar.

Just had a raw hamburger from the friet boutique in Laren for the 2nd time. Had exactly the same problem 2 weeks ago and I find it bizarre that this is normal according to the staff. First of all, a hamburger cannot be eaten raw. Secondly, it is not steak or tartare and this entails health risks. Then called friet boutique again for a new hamburger that is cooked through. We get the response that we have to pick it up ourselves. We don't order for nothing? Wife has just given birth and then this is their solution. This was the last time and I will not advise anyone to eat here again.

Please note: the high score is mainly based on reviews from before the takeover. This snack bar now looks more like a TikTok branch than a traditional chip shop. The food itself is still fine, but the portions have become smaller, the packaging hipper and the prices higher. Are you over 25 and looking for good food with a good price/quality ratio rather than Instagram-worthy containers? Then you can probably spend your money better somewhere else.

Well, 30 years of BEO, also called Pietje TBC by the locals, with a delicious real dry fries without skin, exchanged for a greasy fries, limp and tasteless with a dollop of mayo…. TikTok? Would be nice if they started making real fries again... what a shame... the sandwiches were more or less OK And it's also a shame that they don't do anything, improve, learn from all those bad reviews...

We ate fries with truffle mayonnaise / parmesan (my wife) and fries with satay sauce (me) and a portion of bitterballen (together). Very tasty; rose above the level of a snack bar. The service was customer-oriented and friendly. Recommended.

The fries were tasty, but there was a huge fruit fly infestation! They kept coming off the fries and sticking in the sauce. They flew around our ears and even landed on our faces. Very unhygienic.. Hopefully you can do something about this soon.

Okay, but it could be much better. The fries are lukewarm, the amount of onion on the frikandel special is very limited, the portions could be larger. The food is certainly not bad, but the quality served is mediocre.

Super helpful and helped me think about what I like. Hamburger sandwich is the bomb. Satay sauce is also perfect with extra herbs and the fries also had a chopped red onion.

We visited the business twice after the opening. First time fries with a croquette. We found the fries to be greasy and limp. May be our taste but not worth repeating for us. The croquette was tasty, well filled. In terms of menu, it has become extremely scarce and I think the prices are really high. It is better to bring your own sauce bottle, especially for a little extra sauce. I always get the idea that if boutiqua, or 't Gooi, is in the name, prices will suddenly have to rise. Went again yesterday to get the delicious croquette. But I just got a "mini" croquette. In my opinion, this has also become smaller in two weeks. Unfortunately, I hear and read more of these stories. We are going to Janssen in Laren again. Updated 18/10/24 Yesterday we wanted to get a croquette sandwich. This one was good despite the smaller size. But this has also changed. Nothing more recipe and handmade from Beo, which was proclaimed. The size is normal again, but it is a standard croquette with ragout and barely any beef. So we don't have to go there for the croquette anymore. I wonder how long this chip shop will continue to exist.

Very bad experience. Since the takeover of Beo they have suffered a lot and they are still living off reviews that they are not entitled to. Food has fallen on the floor and I still try to secretly put it in the bag. Visited several times and again and again the staff acted dirty and unhygienic.

I used to come here because in my opinion it was the best snack bar in the Gooi and surrounding areas. Then the name was Beo. Now it is impossible to describe how the quality has disappeared.

What a disappointing experience with this new provider, fries stuffed limp and greasy in a bag, frikandel special with three slices of onion...staff clearly have no experience whatsoever and a complete lack of love for the profession. You probably won't be the only one who misses the old-fashioned class of the Beo. Given the experiences of others, hopefully there will soon be a real snack bar like we were used to in Laren

Just a small message. I don't know about the service and atmosphere, my husband brought some with him, including fries and milkshakes. Finally, all three of us said at home: I really can't eat it. Limp fries without any flavor and way too watery milkshake. I'm not a gourmet, so that says something...and also the price, but maybe I'm not well informed about snack bar prices.

Since the arrival of the new owner, the food has been downright gross. Hot meat sandwich smelled like pork and the stew didn't smell very appetizing either.

From a top performer to a flop, no shadow of what the company was a few months ago. A snack bar that was packed every weekend with people who liked to visit the Beo late in the evening. Apart from the fact that I am occasionally helped by friendly staff and that the fries are good, I unfortunately have no more good words for this place. which is a shame because I liked to come here over the years to get a sandwich every now and then, but due to my experiences in recent months I feel forced to write a review here... oh yes, I just threw two fillet americain sandwiches in the trash because you hear brown fillet not to eat, let alone sell!

Fries were cold... Just scooped out of the cold container. And was expensive. Fries weren't tasty either. Could be because it was late....

The fries (fresh) are fine. Should add Flemish mayonnaise to the sauces. The BEO croquette (which is what I actually came for) is on the menu, but when you come home with the food it turns out that they did not give you a BEO croquette but a different one. The BEO croquette has a thin crust and is peppery. The croquettes that I have had 3 times now were tasteless and sweet. Went again today June 27, 24. I was confirmed 3 times that I would receive BEO croquettes. They are lying because the croquettes I received were clearly not BEO croquettes. The BEO croquette is distinguished by a thin, crispy crust, slightly peppery and not greasy. The croquettes I received had a thick crust, were sweet and had muddy ragout. Why lie????

The Frietboutique relies on the good reviews (and even the photos for their staff recruitment campaign, I see Miverva among them) from the former BEO. They themselves are a shadow of it. The once famous hot meat sandwich with peanut sauce is even lower.

It's not Beo anymore. We didn't like the fries, but the veal croquettes were good. Satay is no longer available. Strange... We found the staff not really interested, and the atmosphere is cool. From now on we will go back to Janssen.

Got fries for the third time at the Laren branch and for the 3rd time only received old fries, comparable to almost chips. This is a pity and even more so because BEO was great. Today, Thursday June 30, I tried the fries boutique again. Even though I said “never again” in my previous review, this time because of... with a friend who had the choice. There were 4 guests inside. Ordered at 7:06 PM and finally received it at 7:41 PM. On a Thursday evening there are 2 staff members for whom I have full respect because this is no longer about anything. Ultimately, 4 customers walked away because it took too long because it was busy. Not surprising of course on a Thursday evening in Laren. We paid €36.50 for 2 cold sandwiches, hot meat and cold fries and another snack. Bag with food was waiting for our 2 milkshakes that still had to be made among all the other orders from guests. Again: the staff really can't do anything about this, but this is very bad. Priscilla? seems to make the schedules but apparently does not know the village of Laren and its guests. For me and my girlfriend this was really the very last attempt. Very unfortunate and €36.50 was simply thrown away. I probably won't get a response to this review, but to be honest, I'm not looking forward to that either. Respect for the staff that evening, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't work there for much longer.

Been coming here for years! This is really a quality snack bar and known and famous for their homemade croquettes (the tastiest), filet americain and hot meat sandwich with satay sauce! Clean, fresh and hygienic, permanent staff and delicious food! Understanding in Laren and 't Gooi! UPDATE: Bep has been sold to the Frietboutique for a few months now, and that's a shame! Croquettes are not nearly as tasty, hot meat sandwich is completely dry with satay sauce that looks more like a thick dollop of peanut butter and fries with skin (a letdown)... No, really a shame, so from now on we will go to that other snack bar in Laren !

The main prize for a weak cheap sandwich. Hot meat was ok, but that sweet warm peanut butter has nothing to do with satay sauce. Ditto for the hamburger. Don't miss the artisanal sandwiches. A case of a cheap snack bar wrapped in expensive branding and an attempt at ditto appearance. Not comparable to Beo.

Big fan of the Frietboutique in Oud Zuid, unfortunately this location has much less atmosphere.

Tried again today after a few weeks. First of all, the staff is friendly and the place looks neat. I then ordered a hot meat sandwich with satay sauce, the real guilty pleasure of the old BEO. And a fries war. The fries couldn't be faulted, delicious, fresh and well fried. But the hot meat sandwich that was normally always worth the detour is unfortunately no longer available. The sandwich was wonderfully fresh and soft, but the meat came off the plate and was super dry and well done, and the satay sauce was cold and there was no very thick peanut butter. And if you ask why it's off the record, you'll get the response: yes, we haven't been open that long, so it's still cold. Indicated that I would have liked to have known that earlier because then I would not have ordered it. Response: oh yes, sorry, this is it. Short summary Unfortunately, with the departure of the BEO, the tastiest sandwich in the Gooi has also disappeared.

Real fries again, handmade from fresh potatoes

After more than 50 years of experience with its predecessor Beo, the introduction to Frietboutique Laren was very disappointing. The spring roll could not be delivered and the products purchased were often below the great quality that Beo delivered. The sandwiches themselves were not fresh (always fresh at Beo), the famous croquettes and hot meat sandwich with satay sauce were not really great. A shame because with this quality it will be very difficult to keep your head above water, I fear.

Came in tonight at 9:35 pm to pick up a few things. The store is open until 10 p.m. and to my surprise a hot meat sandwich can no longer be ordered because the cleaning has already taken place. Ridiculous. Then say on the site that it can no longer be ordered after 9:30 PM. As an excuse they say that it was quiet all evening. With this setting it will automatically become calmer and you can stop certain items at 6 p.m.

2nd time at Friet Boutique and also the last time. You pay 5 euros or so for a weak bite of fries and everything is way too expensive, otherwise the inside doesn't look good and it doesn't look like a cozy snack bar like the beo used to.

Fries made from unpeeled potatoes were really something new and therefore tasted very good. Maybe a little too expensive, but the town of Laren seems to bear it. Villas, Porsches and other big boxes without end.

If you're used to BEO, then this is a real downer! Satay sauce and hot meat sandwich is a real downer if you are used to beo! I'm not really a fan of fries in a bag, the fries were tasty, but the fact that they come in a bag is a disappointment for me! If you look at the menu it has also dropped significantly! But a hot meat sandwich without it having been on the plate is the downer for me!

Had dinner this afternoon at the new Frietboutique in Laren. In addition to the deliciously baked fresh fries, the croquette is highly recommended, it has been a long time since I had such a tasty croquette. So good. The kids enjoyed their delicious, homemade ice cream. A real asset to Laren!

I am shocked by several negative reviews about the chip shop. It looks more like a Hetze. Of course it's not Beo, Beo went bankrupt. And these 2 young enterprising women dared to do it. What a shame that they don't get support from the snack bar eating Laarder. I'm not much of a review writer, but now I do. It is an EXCELLENT snack bar, the chip shop. We will come and eat/get something tasty more often.

What a nice place. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a smile and the wonderful smell of freshly made fries. The quality was excellent, the service friendly and the atmosphere cozy. I will definitely come back here!
