When we're in Nijmegen, we like to eat fries here. Really delicious! 👍

Stroller-unfriendly. The woman who works there wanted to decide where we could leave our stroller, and right in front of the door, which was incredibly inconvenient. We told her that's not acceptable, but she just stared at us with a blank stare. The fries were so greasy, I had a stomachache and heartburn because of it. Unfriendly customer service. Poor service. Never again.

Finding a decent frikandel speciaal during the four-day festivities in Nijmegen? That was very unlikely until my visit to Cafetaria de Burcht in Nijmegen (near the Valkhof). There, they showed they take their time with one of the finest snacks from Dutch fry culture. What a gem... A fried slice. Neatly presented. Despite the crowds, it was truly top-notch. It could perhaps have used a bit more sauce, but it was truly delicious.

What an unfriendly woman that was. She had me put the stroller with a baby in it at the entrance, it was not allowed to be near the table. We tried to make contact with her in a polite manner and explain that everyone will encounter this because the case is so small. but she refuses to listen. Then she had an unfriendly face and kept staring at us and didn't want to take our order, which is really good service. I definitely don't recommend it for people with a stroller

The Chinese man don’t speak dutch r english. I asked VEGAN bami. I asked If there was no meat he said YES. BUT THERE WAS MEAT IN IT. I don’t trust this place and wont go anymore

I got some medium potatoes and thank goodness I didn't order the giant ones because the amount of potatoes they give you is crazy. Very good indeed. Any sauce you want to add to the potatoes has a supplement. At a certain time they no longer let you eat it there.

The Asian woman working there is super unfriendly and unprofessional. I ordered bitterbalen, she didn't ask what kind of sauce I wanted, at the end she asked if I wanted mustard, I preferred mayo. She said I had to pay extra for it. Why? Mustard is free and mayo or ketchup you pay extra? Where is that on the menu? Anyway, I agreed to pay. But no, that was not possible with a debit card! So I just had to eat my meal without any toppings. And when I said that, she should have told me about toppings earlier, she was very rude!

A visit to this snack bar is definitely worth it. The fries are freshly prepared to order. They are the best fries I've ever had at a diner. The price of €2.70 (as of October 2024) for a small portion is absolutely fair for today's times and undercuts the competitors. The fries are world class. I give it an unreserved recommendation. Fantastic (homemade) fries, rarely eaten such a delicious cone with mayonnaise! Super friendly owners (couple?) / top quality snacks too. Don't eat fries anywhere else in Nijmegen because they are guaranteed to be disappointing once you have tasted this quality 👌

Definitely a place to recommend if you are craving good fries! My boyfriend and me had the fries except he has frikadel special and I had bitterballen. Both were extremely good and tasty! Definitely coming back here!

Best chip shop in the world! Even if the shop is a bit inconspicuous, the fries are great and the family who own it are very nice. Frikandel and other Dutch classics are of course also available here. We went as 2 families, 6 people. We bought 6 fries and 3 drinks. My 9-year-old daughter wanted a red straw for her drink. Although we wanted to pay for it, the lady at the cash register did not give her one red straw, even though she was a child. Was one straw worth upsetting my daughter just because of one straw? I would pay 1000 straws to this shop just so my daughter wouldn't be upset, but the shop manager chose to upset a 9-year-old girl...

Every time we are in town we get fries here in a cone or a plastic container in three sizes. The quantities are okay and the price reasonable. It is really worth it to eat fries here with the now Chinese owner. The fries are freshly made/fried and taste very delicious, eating fries here is highly recommended and you won't regret it! Furthermore, we always receive friendly help, which is also pleasant. I think they once won a prize for the tastiest fries in the Netherlands.

Geweldige goede friet. Je kunt kiezen in een bakje of in een zakje. Ook qua mayonnaise is er keuze. We hebben alles lekker buiten op het bankje opgegeten.
