Actually, it's always been the best in Middelburg for fries and snacks. I've been going there for a good 20 years now and I've never changed my mind :)

Frituur 't Smulhoekje seems to have a very good reputation in Middelburg. We wanted to give it a try. The snack bar is located right next to a beautiful park. Seating is available on the lawn behind it and next to the snack bar. There were a lot of customers on this Saturday evening...we had to wait a long time. The fries were very good, the kibbeling was generally good too, but they were far too crispy and borderline dark brown. They had probably been left in the oil for far too long or had been left in the oil a second time. In any case, they were too crispy and therefore too dry. However, it was probably due to the rush, and we would definitely come back for another meal or give it a second chance.

The ambiance isn't that great, but it's okay considering the location in the middle of or near the park. The food is amazing! Delicious selection, including vegetarian options! Highly recommended for typical Dutch food.

Searched via Google and we ended up well. We were helped quickly despite it being busy. A nice team of young guests who were very friendly. I ate frietje oorlog there and the peanut/sate sauce was slightly spicy and very tasty. Just like the fries. Well fried and the portions more than enough. Also the choice wide. Definitely recommended to provide your tasty cravings from this chip shop

‘t Smulhoekje is the place to go for a tasty greasy snack! The quality is always good and the staff remains friendly and patient, even when you are hesitating in line with hungry children. The location at the Molenwaterpark is ideal, especially with kids, who can play while you wait for your fries. And with a bit of luck they will just bring your order to their terrace in the park. Perfect for a relaxed snack break in the open air! 🍟😄

Really delicious kibbeling with lots of fish and crispy breading, great price/performance, nice seller. Definitely a recommendation!

Got the Kibbeling and it looked well baked and tasty, not what we are used to in Scheveningen in terms of batter, but that's another story. I thought everything looked a bit dirty, even though they had only been open for 5 minutes.

Sometimes you have to wait a while, but then you get really delicious fries. You will be helped quickly and friendly. Plus lots of choice with decent prices

Unfortunately not what it used to be. Fries are rock hard so half the bag can go to waste. Time and again orders incomplete, or different than ordered. It is neatly resolved, therefore 1 star higher for service, but it remains annoying. Unfortunately not like it used to be.

Just got fries with kibbeling, kibbeling was really bad, rock hard, dipped in batter for the 2nd time and fried again. Really dirty. Fries were fine

Now I get here regularly because it's around the corner for me. Fries are poor/average because they are not fried in fresh oil. Happened not once but the last 6 times. Not everything from the past is better, but the fries from the Smulhoekje used to be MUCH better. Staff often slow and busy with each other instead of with the customer. Today was the last time. Next time I will drive to Melis in Westkapelle, they know how to make fries.

We hadden frites, stoofvlees en mayonaise. Helaas werd de mayonaise niet apart geserveerd, maar bovenop de frites met stoofvlees, de frites was bijna niet terug te vinden en de maaltijd was heel snel koud. De Bourgondische kroket was heerlijk.

After all the years that the chip shop has been there, the atmosphere has improved considerably. Like a small terrace. But everything there is good to eat and well prepared.

Ok, we are critical fries eaters, it must be said. Unfortunately, we found the fries and snacks to be of disappointing quality. My bami block was 'boiled over' on the inside. The fries were just a bit too dry and... But here too, of course, tastes differ. It remains an 'iconic' Middelburg chip shop!

All I can say is top, small place with super tasty burgers, which we had, burger special for only €5, cheap and absolutely delicious, I can only recommend everyone to stop here for something for small or big hunger. Prices are really cheap, we didn't have to wait long, so...we'd be happy again!

I went there with a group of children for fries. The food was ready quickly and very tasty. There is also plenty of room to sit in the shade and eat everything!

You'll even be greeted by the boss when you walk past. Simply great. Food and outdoor area great.

This chip shop is located next to a small playground and has paid parking spaces right on the street. Very friendly service, good service, card payment. Large selection of vegetarian dishes. The large portion of fries was enough as a side dish for three people. Some seats with umbrellas available.

Voor 2 personen friet en snacks gekocht. De friet was zeer slecht. Verschrompeld en kennelijk al 2 x in het vet geweest. Een snack: viernameese loempia was ter dikte en lengte van mijn pink en kostte € 1,80 !!! Schandalige prijs / kwaliteits verhouding. Ook de bejegening en service was slecht. Eens, maar nooit meer daar.
