Gastel Sfeer in Wijk 01 Oud Gastel

We celebrated our wedding here. Danique perfectly fulfilled our wishes. The welcome was wonderful, and the staff worked tirelessly to make sure everyone had a great time. We had a fantastic day, thanks in part to the Gastel atmosphere, and we will definitely be back.

Beautiful location on the water. A nice stopover on a cycling route. It also has playground equipment for children. The service is friendly, but due to being understaffed (where else? 😉), we order at the bar inside. Which is fine. Sometimes there are live bands. Comfortable chairs and large umbrellas for shelter from the sun. We didn't eat there, so I can't comment on that.

Terrible, just like in 2024. In 2024, the chef was sick. In 2025, there was only a limited menu. Dirty restrooms. Burnt nachos. Sticky floor. Stomach ache from the appetizers. Incorrect receipts. Paid what was due, and gave feedback that we hope things will improve.

Two coffees, one apple pie, and one cheesecake. Both were very small and nothing special. Apple pie €5.50 and cheesecake €6. It was way too much money for what you got. Absolutely not recommended. And then you get your cake long after you've finished your coffee.

We only had a few drinks here. I thought the menu prices were a bit steep for a snack. The cappuccino wasn't very good. I find the terrace a bit of a sad sight.

Gingen voor lunch. Op terras weinig keus. Alleen friet stoer en snacks. Friet stoer PiriPiri was € 14,- terwijl op website een prijs staat van € 11,- Stelt weinig voor, een kartonnen bak friet met wat Kip PiriPiri er bovenop. Werd vlot geserveerd maar lang geen € 14,- waard. Personeel was wel zeer vriendelijk.

More attention could be paid to better service, smoother operation...

Very nice place for a drink for parents with young children, friendly and helpful service, tasty drinks and a variety of tasty snacks. Good service! If you don't have children, look for another establishment 😀. The location and the view of the water are pleasant!

I would like to share my experience at "Gastel Atmosphere", although I would advise them to take the "atmosphere" out of the name. Because to be honest, it was hard to find, especially thanks to the young blonde waitress who had the terrace in her grasp. It was almost impressive how unfriendly she was. For every question we received a blunt "I don't know" in return, and plates were placed on the table with a loud bang as if she would rather get rid of us than rich. At one point the entire terrace laughed – not at a joke, but at how *bizarrely* inhospitable she was. Fortunately, her colleague with the brown hair did her best and brought some warmth into the business. Maybe they should let her choose the name...

We drove past here 1 year ago because we had to go to the toilet and have a drink, the toilets were very dirty, and the whole café looked very dirty and run-down, so we sat outside and had a drink, that was fine, but we will never come back here again

Stopped for a cup of coffee last week. My partner has a slice of apple pie with it. This clearly came from the freezer and had been warmed up for a while. Very wet and cold bits. The bill was €12.20! When I responded that their website actually has different prices, I received the response that these are old prices. When I ask what the prices are now, I get the answer from an employee: I don't know!!!

Went last week with friends, but unfortunately not worth repeating. Cold tough fries, shrimp seemed to have been heated up in the microwave... then dessert. Vanilla ice cream with strawberries, exactly 1 strawberry cut into 4 pieces, vanilla ice cream had already completely melted and we could fish the spoon out of it. The response from the staff was yes but it is so hot in the kitchen. The service was also poor, clearing the table between the main course and dessert was apparently also a strange request from us. No, we won't be coming back here again!

Nice stop for a bike ride. Friendly and professional staff. Top location.

I specially called in advance to make a reservation for 16 people. I had a very friendly lady on the phone who went to ask her chef if this was possible, she said no problem and wrote down my name. When we arrive on the day, they don't know anything about it and the chef comes out of the blue because they never make reservations, he says, I kindly asked to get chairs from somewhere because there were older people there, this was not possible. The band gave us their table with all their equipment on it, how grateful I was to them. People came in after us and a number of chairs were suddenly brought out. 🤔 The service was also bad and with too little we had to go and get it ourselves, it was also not possible. Toilets were also very dirty. It was that the band was good otherwise we would have left immediately for us never to go to Gastelsveer again 😠 too bad.

Lunch menu not really extensive, but what you order is of excellent quality. Service is just good. Not exaggerated but just friendly. The location is excellent. Outside Oud Gastel on the water. We will definitely go there again when we are in the area.

Very long waiting times. Had ordered food but had to drive through without food due to the long waiting time. Not good advertising, were not the. Any.

Had to wait 65 minutes for our order of 2 (two!) healthy sandwiches, and then had to pay an additional 23 euros with 2 ice teas. Sandwiches were barely bigger than a sandwich, with an extra 7 chips. Never again.

That was once but never again. Drove here for lunch, it was unclear that the parking lot belonged to this accommodation due to a different name on the sign, so we parked across the street in the grass. We had made a reservation at 1:00 PM and arrived at 12:55 PM, whereupon we were immediately very rudely informed that the kitchen would not open until 1:00 PM (the menu says 11:30 AM). Next I wanted a tomato soup, as I had seen on the website. Unfortunately, they no longer had that (new card). Hardly any vegetarian options, so I ordered a healthy brown sandwich without ham. The leaves of the fresh mint tea were more brown than green and on the way to the toilet it really became clear how old, but above all dirty everything was. Then came the sandwich, a white roll with a lot of lettuce on it. Just when I had it in my hands to take a bite, they came to take it back and brought a brown bun with mainly lettuce on it, they had given me the wrong bun. I suggested that I pay for and eat both sandwiches, so that they would not have to be thrown away because I had already touched them with my hands and the brown bun was too small to be enough. But no, that wrong sandwich had to be brought back and both we and the people around us strongly suspected that it went straight to another table (inside). In addition, my party's sandwich was very poor and the cutlery was dirty. The waiting staff were from another world, not alert, cheerful, friendly or involved at all. We paid and went for ice cream elsewhere. Too bad, because the location is really fantastic...

Dat was 1x maar nooit meer. Hier naartoe gereden voor een lunch, onduidelijk dat de parkeerplaats bij deze accommodatie hoorde ivm een andere naam op het bord en dus maar aan de overkant in het gras geparkeerd. We hadden om 13:00 uur gereserveerd en kwamen om 12:55 uur aan, waarop ons direct erg onvriendelijk werd medegedeeld dat de keuken pas om 13:00 uur open zou gaan (op de kaart staat 11:30 uur). Vervolgens wilde ik een tomatensoep, zoals ik op de website had gezien. Helaas, die hadden ze niet meer (nieuwe kaart). Nauwelijks vegetarische opties, dus een bruin broodje gezond zonder ham besteld. De blaadjes van de verse muntthee waren meer bruin dan groen en op weg naar de wc werd pas echt duidelijk hoe oud, maar vooral vies alles was. Toen kwam het broodje, een wit pistoletje met vooral heel veel sla erop. Net toen ik het in mijn handen had om een hap te nemen, kwamen ze het terug halen en een bruin bolletje met ook voornamelijk sla erop brengen, ze hadden mij het verkeerde broodje gegeven. Ik opperde om beide broodjes te betalen en op te eten, opdat het niet weg gegooid hoefde te worden omdat ik er al met mijn handen aan had gezeten en het bruine bolletje te klein was om er genoeg aan te hebben. Maar nee, dat verkeerde broodje moest mee terug en zowel wij als de mensen om ons heen hadden het sterke vermoeden dat het rechtstreeks naar een andere tafel (binnen) is gegaan. Daarnaast was de tosti van mijn gezelschap erg karig en zijn bestek vies. Het bedienend personeel was van een andere wereld, totaal niet alert, vrolijk, vriendelijk of betrokken. We hebben afgerekend en zijn elders een ijsje gaan eten. Jammer, want de ligging is echt fantastisch...

Very nice place, also to moor your boat. Live music occasionally. Friendly service, very hospitable!

When you enter this catering establishment you immediately taste the enormous hospitality. A restaurant with a very extensive menu and an excellent beer selection. Located in an attractive environment. The staff is professional, helpful and hardworking. You are very welcome here for all occasions. Perfect location for cycling trips and hikers. The word and concept "Atmosphere" are of paramount importance here. Be surprised. You definitely won't regret it!

We were very happy that we could come here on a Sunday evening, because a lot in the center of Oud-Gastel was closed. Friendly staff, fast service and tasty food for a good price.

We enjoyed a wedding at this location. The atmosphere is very good if you like a rustic, not forced environment. Plenty of free parking. The BBQ was excellent. The service is fast. It's a shame that the toilets are not properly maintained. An old tea towel to dry your hands. Recommended for the rest. Nice place to have something to eat while cycling in the area.

Make sure you have clean glasses when you serve them and clean toilets - broken beer glasses should certainly not be there - staff can clean this up if they don't think their hair is more important at that moment!

Cozy location where we had a barbecue with the work department. Everything well taken care of. We had our own place, our own bar and nice music. I missed some vegetables and more choice in salads. A large playground for children (young and old) to enjoy and everything is well fenced.

First impression it looked like a lot of fun for our children. Pros: - playground with large wooden equipment. - for our attractive menu. The burgers smell delicious. - large grounds with terraces divided here and there - apparently there are also activities here such as DJs and artists - Burgundian Brabant, nice location for tourism. Cons: - I've tasted better coffee - there is poor overview from the terrace to the playground (the large equipment is at the front and blocks the view behind) - poorly closed; children can run away from the site. - unwanted guests. People who use drugs, alcoholics. In short, 3 stars for the pluses Big minus for the insecurity caused by 1. Terrain and the unwanted people who have no place at a children's playground.. We will be back... Maybe.. 😉

Yesterday we were a guest at a wedding here. Beautiful and cozy location, ideal with children because of the playground. Service was very friendly and you were not short of anything. The food was also very tasty. Highly recommended!

Nice place to take a rest on a nice terrace, which could use some maintenance here and there. Service is good, but next time don't put ice in the already chilled rosé!

Had a party last Saturday in the Atmosphere Schuur at Gastel Atmosphere. Very nice location and well cared for. Flexible with the decoration, music and catering. We were asked carefully in the preparation what we wanted and we were also able to agree on an excellent price. Very friendly service that is very service oriented.

The food was absolutely bad! The fish salad was bad! I think the salmon was out of date, stinging in the mouth. The fish croquette was also inedible and the lettuce was the cheapest rubbish. Chicken satay covered in a mountain of sauce and fries fried in fat that has not been changed for years... Never again!! A horrible experience!

Nice location for a beer and a snack.

Telefonisch contact gezocht om te reserveren voor een groep. Dit was niet nodig gaf men aan. Binnenkomst was erg rommeling. Niemand liep mee naar de tafel. We moeten zelf tafels bij elkaar zoeken en verplaatsen. Serveerster was vriendelijk, maar helaas duurde alles erg lang. Drinken kwam niet door. Eten duurde ook erg lang. Gasten die na ons kwamen, kregen eerder hun eten. Bij navraag kwam had het personeel geen antwoord en de eigenaar (denken we) reageerde zelfs onbeschoft. Na meer dan 2 uur wavhten kwam ons eten. Viel wat tegen, maar eerlijk prijs is er ook naar. Speeltuin is leuk voor de kinderen.

Very nice atmosphere at this location on the Vliet. The children can also play on the playground equipment. You can sit outside, but there is also plenty of space inside. The service is very friendly. You can park practically in front of the door or along the road on the grass, but on a nice day it is also a nice rest location if you are cycling. We only had a drink this time so can't say much about the food. I actually thought the coffee was good 💪.

Nice tent in a wonderful location. However, we had been sitting on an almost empty terrace for at least fifteen minutes before someone appeared to take an order. It then took quite a while for lunch to be delivered. The quality was good. I wonder how long it takes here when it's busy...

Here you can enjoy a drink and a meal on a terrace as a cyclist. You have a view of the Roosendaalse vliet.

Nice place to go with children. They can enjoy themselves in the playground and you can keep a close eye on them from the terrace. There are also tables in the sand at the playground. The only disadvantage... there is a lot of glass in the sand at the playground. So the children had to leave their shoes on against their will. Service is very friendly and the food is also great!

We did a whiskey and rum tasting, which was fun and delicious. Was organized by top liquor store 't, town hall Oud Gastel, drank delicious whiskeys and rum with tasty snacks. Excellent explanation about the different drinks and we had a pleasant evening. Hope again next year 👍

Nice terrace in the outside area. Unfortunately we had to wait almost an hour and a half for our satay. Kitchen was understaffed, it was not the fault of the accommodating staff.

Precies op het goede plekje in onze fietstocht het bekende terras van Gastel sfeer. Mooi plekje aan de vliet. Volop plek voor de fietsen; ruim terras en vlotte, vriendelijke bediening. Altijd weer een genot om hier te zijn. Twee la Trappjes, twee smakelijke tosti’s; wat wil je nog meer!

Ik vind het echt vervelend voor de bediening want daar ligt het zeker niet aan, super lieve meiden en behulpzaam! Maar het eten wij hadden een visplank en de prijs kwaliteit is echt niet oke! Paar hollandse garnalen, augurken en 4 frituur dingetjes voor €14,50 (mosselen waren ze vergeten maar dat duurde gemiddeld een half uur voordat die erbij kwamen) al met al gewoon een karige bedoeling en we vonden het gewoon niet gezellig! Weinig sfeer geen muziek.. ik ga hier niet meer heen.
