This is so much more than a restaurant. Besides having breakfast, lunch, and dinner here, you can also dance and go out.. Very welcoming and warm staff. Close to the forest and the opportunity to sit comfortably outside, in the sun or under the very atmospheric tent.

Once again, we had a delicious meal in a pleasant setting.

We wanted to have dinner at 't Woud today, Friday, July 17, around 7:00 PM with four people. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. We stood politely waiting by the "Wait here" sign but were expertly ignored by the young waiter. It wasn't exactly busy, and although he looked at us twice without making eye contact and even turned away from us, he apparently thought it was okay to walk past us a third time without saying anything. When we decided not to wait any longer, we received a question from behind the hedge: "Yes, what...?" To our remark that we felt a bit ignored, we received the answer: "Yes, I have other things to do." Hm... We had been looking forward to it, but unfortunately, it was not meant to be.

Gasterij 't Woud is located on the main road between Wimmenum and Het Woud, and close to the entrance to the North Holland Dune Reserve on Woudweg (1861) Bergen aan Zee. Gasterij 't Woud has its own parking lot across the main road. There is no zebra crossing for crossing the main road. Gasterij 't Woud is tastefully decorated. It has a warm atmosphere. You can sit inside or outside. The staff is friendly and the prices are good.

We just weren't served... the staff stares at you sheepishly, then turns around and goes to clean the table or something. It wasn't busy or anything, either. So we won't be doing that again.

Fantastically comfortable seating, super service!

We wanted to sit on the sunny terrace with girlfriends, but this was very rudely forbidden by the owner. We have been here often because of the beautiful location and even wanted to throw a party, but unfortunately, you don't feel welcome around someone like that. So, it is a beautiful place, but the staff is really not flexible or customer-friendly. The male owner, however, is friendly.

A cozy restaurant with very friendly service. But the food... I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich that had no crunch or flavor. Two thin slices of bread with a slice of cheese and a slice of ham in between, bone dry, and all that for €7.50!

Sunday mid-afternoon: delicious soup of the day, wonderfully fresh and not so standard. And the hamburger was fantastic. The wild menu until March looks promising. It's a shame the music was a bit overpowering. Friendly young ladies as staff.

A lovely, warm place with hardworking ladies who want to make you feel welcome. We had the celeriac soup, which was delicious and more than enough for lunch. With the outdoor fireplace lit, it's a great place to warm up on a winter Sunday.

To conclude a lovely walk through the nearby dunes, we enjoyed coffee on the outdoor terrace of this Gasterij. Inside, it looks warm and inviting as well.

We chose the chef's specialty, braised guinea fowl. Each person received half a chicken, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, and apple slices with cranberries, served on a large platter. Everything was delicious, perhaps a little underseasoned, but the pepper and salt mills provided allowed us to adjust the seasoning to our own taste. The guinea fowl menu was rounded out by a delicious mustard soup with crab and vanilla ice cream with strawberry cake. The service was attentive and helpful, even if we didn't speak Dutch. The ambiance was cozy. With red wine and water, we ended up with just under €110. All in all, a successful evening.

We had a surprisingly delicious meal yesterday. The gravad lax was superb—not something you see on a menu very often—followed by a very tender rib-eye steak with delicious garnish and a lovely lemon tart for dessert. Everything was presented perfectly. Highly recommended.

Prachtig terras, gelegen aan een doorgaande weg maar daar heb je niet veel last van. De lunchkaart is beperkt maar er staan wel lekkere dingen op. Voor ieder wat wils. Jammer genoeg viel het ons erg tegen: 2 sneetjes geroosterd brood (droog!) met wat dunne plakjes brie, honing en nog wat meer (zoals vermeld op de kaart) zonder garnering op een groot bord voor mij en een relatief klein broodje hamburger (Mc Donalds size) zonder garnering op een groot bord voor mijn broer. En dat voor €15 per portie. Wel lekker maar toch echt te duur!

We komen hier vaker en deze keer met een groep van 10 om mijn verjaardag te vieren. De dames van de bediening waren heel vriendelijk en het eten was heerlijk.

In een sfeervolle ambiance hebben we genoten van ons menu. De gerechten waren gevarieerd en erg smakelijk. Ons gezin komt al jaren bij 't Woud en zal dit op deze manier ook nog jaren blijven doen.

Afgelopen zaterdag genoten in Gasterij ‘t Woud. We zaten met 12 personen in een aparte ruimte. De kamer was echt heel sfeervol! Personeel ontzettend aardig en gastvrij en heerlijk twaalf uurtje. Prachtig restaurant in een mooie omgeving. Zeker een dikke aanrader!

Heerlijk wildmenu (zelden beter wild gegeten) op een rustige plek met huiselijke sfeer; de aankleding moet je smaak zijn (nautisch thema), maar het is wel gezellig. De bediening is hartelijk en op de achtergrond: geslaagde avond!

Good cuisine, good atmosphere and hospitable!

hospitable 't' Woud is the ideal place for a stop during a walk or bike ride. We walked through the dunes from Egmond aan Zee and had lunch here. 't' Woud has a very nice terrace and the inside is also very nicely decorated with all kinds of ship supplies. The lunch menu is small (that's fine with me) but also very expensive. For example, you pay 14.50 for a brie sandwich and 12.50 for 2 white sandwiches with 2 croquettes. I think that's quite a lot, but the ham and cheese sandwich (a pre-packed one from the freezer, because they didn't have a sandwich on brown bread) costs 7 euros and is completely tasteless. I read the reviews and see that you can really enjoy dinner here. That may cost quite a bit, but I think these prices for lunch dishes (10.50 for the soup of the day) are really too high. The apple pie was very tasty, but the lady who brought it was very grumpy and in a hurry with us. The other girl at the counter was very nice.

If you want to eat here, you should make a reservation. It's worth it.

Surprisingly exceptional cuisine in a cozy captain's cabin ambience. We found the most important cornerstones of individually successful gastronomy, such as attentive, courteous service, lovingly designed ambience, imaginative, honest ingredients and a friendly laugh from the galley, happily combined here. The perfectly cooked halibut, with legendary shrimp tartlet, carefully grilled fennel with lobster jus, was just as convincing as the tender guinea fowl with sauerkraut and homemade potato puree. Here's a heartfelt chapeau! to the kitchen team. Thank you very much!! We'll definitely be back!!

A few minutes before 11am, my disabled friend and I (both 80+) arrived. We were not allowed to sit inside or outside and it was made clear to us in a very unfriendly manner to wait. We will never come here again.

Ordered a soup here that had no cracks or taste for a lot of money. When you see it on the menu you get hungry for it, once you've tasted it you don't want it anymore.

Dinsdag 17 december 2024 Om onze 55ste trouwdag te vieren hadden we gereserveerd bij Gasterij 't Woud. Wij werden hartelijk ontvangen en kregen het verrassingsmenu. De ambiance van het restaurant is bijzonder sfeervol. De eetkamer was behangen met mooie zeeschilderijen. Een romantische gebeurtenis op zo'n trouwdag nietwaar? Dat werd het voor ons. Gasterij 't Woud can safely start its menu with a brief description of its special history and the growth of the collection of special features related to sea sailing. This collection is museum worthy! That also makes this company worth a visit for the solo traveler! The menu features traditional dishes prepared with fresh ingredients. Everything is tasty and the price-quality ratio is definitely in the customer's favor. Highly recommended for every cyclist and walker in the dune area and definitely worth the detour for others! (Free parking across the street).

. Seit Jahren ein fester Bestandteil des Urlaubs in Bergen. Das in Deutschland oft gehörte Vorurteil über schlechte Küche in den Niederlanden wird hier „nebenbei“ widerlegt.

Al meer dan 30 jaar gaan wij, verwende Amsterdammers, eten bij de gasterij. Vanaf begin april tot eind september bivakkeren wij in de Nollenvalei tussen Egmond en Bergen, regelmatig verwennen wij ons zelf en ook vrienden op een diner bij ‘t Woud. In deze omgeving zijn zij samen met nog een restaurant de enige twee pareltjes in onze ogen. Zowel binnen als buiten is het goed vertoeven, kwalitatief eten en drinken met een vriendelijke bediening.

We had made a reservation for Sunday at 7:15 PM. We were called by an employee who asked us if we could come earlier because otherwise the restaurant would be empty and therefore unpleasant. So we immediately got into the car and were warmly welcomed in a pleasantly busy restaurant. We enjoyed the chef's game menu (last day so we were lucky). We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the delicious food and we thank the staff for calling us to come earlier. That turned out to be a golden tip! On to the fifth time eating at Gasterij 't Woud.

The 4 of us had the 4 course game (Dutch: wild) menu. We all love game and it was excellent. Paired w bottles of Granache wine (15%alc) we enjoyed every minute. Waitresses were terrific too. We’ll definitely come again. Had wild ragout (boar and hare), hare, dum sum in game bouillon, and cheese. Fair prices. Top!!!

We enjoyed the 4-course Chefs Special. Delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. The dishes, the deer, the broth, the hare but also the amuse were very tasty and wonderfully tender. Highly recommended for a really tasty meal in a great atmosphere.

We had to wait a long time...it wasn't really busy...menu was not very clear...food was good but far too little...instead of vegetables a few stray peas...a bit little on a large plate... you have to pay extra for fries or puree or vegetables...I only ate a sandwich at home...it used to be much better there but apparently a different owner now...and very expensive for that small snack...I'll go there no more going...

We ate in this restaurant on the recommendation of our landlady and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is super cozy and rustic, and when the weather is nice there is also great seating outside. The service was consistently friendly and accommodating. The food was first class – at the level you would expect from a starred restaurant. The selection of dishes is clear, which makes it clear that everything is freshly prepared here. We were particularly happy about a small appetizer on the house. Our main course, the guinea fowl, was absolutely delicious – highly recommended! To finish we had the Baileys dessert, which was truly a taste explosion. We would definitely like to come back!

Remains a special place. Inside it is a brown cafe with the sea and ships as a theme. Good food and nice staff. There is a partly covered terrace when the weather is nice. Nice acquisition.

'Please wait here' we waited there with another couple for at least 15 minutes, then asked for a table, and the staff told us that we cannot sit down because the table is dirty. Nothing else happened. What a great company.

Hello first.... immediately got a nice table for 6 people. We actually just wanted to stop for coffee and cake. But the menu left us wanting more. Conclusion: Very fast and friendly service. Ate the best apple pie ever and the bitterballen was also great. Absolute recommendation. We'll be back. 👍👍👍

Drove by by chance and had a wonderful evening. Super nice, well-kept outdoor area, very nice waitress and the food was exceptionally good! Lovingly prepared and of very high quality. The fish for the children's dish was also freshly fried and served with a small salad decoration.

We komen al jaren regelmatig bij 't Woud. Eigenlijk nemen we altijd de parelhoen omdat die zo lekker is. Ook de kleine details zoals een amuse vooraf, bonbonnetje en schaaltje slagroom bij de koffie waarderen we zeer. De bediening is heel attent en vriendelijk en de sfeer is goed en gezellig. Kortom: een aanrader!

Wir gehen sehr gerne in dieses Gasthaus am Dünenreservatseingang zwischen Egmond aan Hoef und Bergen, gemütlich mit sehr vielen passenden Dekors zur Seefahrt eingerichtet fühlt man sich wohl in der Nähe der Nordsee - erzählen die Fischereigegenstände, Bojen, Takelage, Meerjungfrauen und historische Fotos von der Geschichte der Region in Noordholland. Das Essen, köstlich, sehr empfehlenswert - wir lebten ein Jahrzehnt in Frankreich und sind gaumenverwöhnt, hier hält die Küche in ihrer Raffinesse, in sagenhaft gelungenen Variationen und sehr frischen Zutaten 1A mit. Wir lassen uns gerne überraschen mit dem Dienstagmenü - hier sind wir jedes Mal begeistert, was auf den Teller alles an Leckereien zu dem AHA-Erlebnis führt. Die Speisen sind bei unseren vielen Besuchen durchgehend überzeugend in ihrer Qualität. Die freundliche Atmosphäre mit den netten und zuvorkommenden Servicedamen trägt zu einem insgesamt sehr gelungenen Ergebnis bei. Da wir nur wenige Schritte entfernt seit bald 40 Jahren ein Ferienhaus haben, gehört der Besuch seit vielen Jahren zu unserem ,,festen Programm" und ist ein Highlight auch für unsere Freunde.

What a stupid place, you have to wait fifteen minutes to be admitted to the terrace while you are virtually ignored by the employees. Someone comes out and announces that they will stop serving on the terrace. The 4 people including the two of us were simply sent away. Too crazy for words, what arrogance. Does this lady also dare to say that she had not seen us? You understand that we will never go there again. Plenty of places in the area where you will receive a hospitable welcome.
