Gastrobar Olijf in Wijk 01 Sittard

Had a lovely time here. We had the surprise menu, and each dish was very good with the exception of one (personal taste though) . They also took my allergies very seriously and changed dishes to accommodate me. I would recommend a visit :)

We had to flee the rain showers last Sunday and ended up at OLIJF. A cozy restaurant with friendly service, and then we asked for the menu. It arrived, and we thought it was OK considering the price...however, they forgot to add the price per person after the OLIJF Menu, and I was actually quite surprised that I had to pay €39.50 twice. They hadn't, or hadn't, forgotten the price for the Lunch Menu, hence our surprise. Too bad. These are expensive lunches, which you wouldn't have expected.

Enjoy your meal in a lovely setting with friendly staff. We opted for the warm aperitif platter! Delicious and generously stocked! Great place!

Good quality for a very reasonable price

Had a great meal with colleagues from "The" lease company from the south. Surprise menu from the chef in various courses with smaller snacks, great food, nice ambiance and friendly staff.

Not only was the food delicious, original and very well cared for; but the effort that was made in connection with a food allergy was far above average. The menu was adjusted as best as possible. The service did its very best to make it a successful evening. Top!

Fairly small portions and other (main) ingredients were served than what was on the menu. Staff is friendly, but certainly not professional. Price-quality was not in proportion. So not recommended. In any case, we won't be going there again.

What a great restaurant! The shared dining concept is very nice, the portions are good and the food is delicious. The staff is very friendly and pleasant. And all that for a reasonable price. If you are going to eat in Sittard, I would make a reservation here!

Yesterday we had dinner at Olijf in Sittard for the first time and we will do that more often. We were welcomed by a friendly hostess and the other service was also friendly, helpful, alert and attentive. The concept is 'share your food with each other' and that is a pleasant variation on other concepts. We ordered a total of 8 dishes and that was a good amount. We had steak tartare preparé, scampi, polpo, lamb rump steak, pork belly (amazingly good), red mullet, Arancini & chicken thigh skewers. Everything was well seasoned and cooked, the restaurant was full, but the orders came at a nice pace. Add some rosé and enjoy! Highly recommended!

The "Gastrobar Olijv" is a tapas restaurant with a Mediterranean atmosphere. The owner's concept is shared dining, which means you enjoy small dishes together. The restaurant is very popular so you have to make a reservation in advance Unfortunately it is not suitable for people with a handicap, wheelchair or walker😏

Delicious tapas. Beautiful decor. Friendly service. Maybe too enthusiastic. Asking every half hour if everything is OK......can be experienced as disturbing.

I stopped by Olijf for an afternoon snack and had an enjoyable experience. The wine and food were right on time as I meandered through town exploring the shops and quaint parks. The service was attentive and not overbearing; it was just right. I definitely recommend stopping in for a snack, drink, and/or meal when visiting Sittard.

4 course menu where the courses were of good quality and sufficient quantity. It kept us busy for about 2 hours.

Cozy little restaurant in the Putstraat near the market. The food is truly delicious! Very Mediterranean indeed; It's delicious all that fish, shellfish and garlic! I feel like it was very busy inside the restaurant, luckily we were seated in the conservatory. The service is friendly and they do their best to think along and find a table for you. The Chardonnay house wine is also incredibly delicious!! Goes great with all those snacks. Here it is important to reserve a table well in advance; If you just go along à l'improviste, it often doesn't work out, because everything is already fully booked. Even on a weekday everything is usually full (a good sign). A few negatives: the service could take the empty dishes to the kitchen more quickly, otherwise the table would quickly be full of empty dishes because of the many small snacks. The service could also be a little more alert with regard to guests with empty glasses: if you go to the conservatory or terrace as a waitress, walk around and look carefully at each table, and pay attention if a guest puts their finger in the finger. air stings!! You can also serve a lot of baguette (without butter or other spread) with the tapas, starting with a full bread basket. If that is empty, ask the guests if they would like more bread. That's how it should be and that's how it works automatically in France and in southern European countries (without you having to ask for it). What I found really annoying is the fact that the guests have to eat their food within a certain time in order to clear the table for the next guests. Only if you reserve a table at or after 6:00 PM can you sit quietly for the rest of the evening. I really hate such a system; I think it's very cheap and especially hectic to saddle guests with a time limit. This is definitely not in line with a Mediterranean lifestyle!! Moreover, it also gives the impression that everything revolves around the money (the more guests, the more money in the drawer...)

Surprisingly super tasty (including delicious steak, entrecote, super cool fries, delicious creamy mussels, surprising scampies, really red crispy soft mullet and wonderfully tasty dessert de le leche and soft warm brownie with ice cream), enjoyed by the staff. Very greasy and not much, which was a bit of a hollow tooth the first time and the last time after that we went to eat elsewhere, much tastier and also cheaper.

Hip, cozy place in the center of Sittard. Delicious food and drinks, also beautifully presented, nice ambiance. The kitchen and service really deliver, without compromising on taste or care. Highly recommended for lunch. The map is concise. That's absolutely fine, but there could be a bit more variety, as far as I'm concerned (I come there regularly).

There were three of us at a table. We couldn't order a menu with 2 people if the third person wanted separate dishes, because she couldn't eat that much. The kitchen couldn't manage that. Foreign.

Went for lunch twice now and absolutely recommended. Nice menu with delicious, tasty dishes of good quality. Friendly service and nicely decorated place. Want to have dinner there soon! Went for dinner a few weeks ago as well. This is also absolutely recommended. Delicious tapas, we enjoyed it! Also with seasonal dishes. Nice Mediterranean menu with lots of choice. An asset in Sittard. It's often full for a reason ;)

Great restaurant, highly recommended

Our first time visiting this restaurant, we made a reservation in time. But upon entering we were offered a high table, there was no 2 person table available. Next we had to report it, but yes, not kind lady, it's our first time! I don't like high chairs, I am a bit heavier and cannot fit my legs and the seat cuts into my thighs. And I'm afraid of heights... Hahaha Reservations are wise, it was full on a weekday. We both find the menu a bit too limited. The pork belly was plentiful and very tasty. The chicken skewer had less flavor and was a bit too dry. The mullet was delicious again and the cod croquettes tasteless again. The pizza rolls were very pale and also slightly undercooked. We quickly gave up because of the seating and the menu being too small. When paying it was €90, in my head it went: "WHAT!? €90 and I'm still hungry", but when I want to walk away the young lady sees that she had paid for the wrong table. It was €60. Ladies and gentlemen, check your account everywhere! Happens too often... Unfortunately. Are we going back? I have doubts, 2 dishes stood out, I would like to go back for those.

A big fan of Olijf from the start. The whole picture is correct; the atmosphere, service, food and cocktails: everything is done with great dedication, attention and pleasure. Even in Corona times we didn't have to miss Olijf, because they quickly set up a nice takeaway concept. Always a successful evening with children, family and friends! The absolute favorite is the cheesecake.

Tapas Restaurant with snacks to share. Reasonable portions. Everything tasted good. Choice could have been a bit more extensive. Have now had dinner, will definitely come back for lunch.

There isn't really a vegan dish on the menu. But there was a lot of discussion in the kitchen and there were three dishes that they could offer vegan. So they really try their best to come to terms with something. And we certainly had a delicious lunch together with the Cappuccino with soy milk. Thanks!

Great service (compliments!) and a nice place to eat. My girlfriend and I ordered the OLIVE 4 course dinner and the food tasted good. However, we thought that dinner would cost 36 euros for both of us instead of 36 euros per person. This was not clearly visible to us on the menu, so we were a bit confused by the double amount during payment. Out of shock or shame I didn't dare say anything about it at that moment, but I secretly think 36 euros per person for the dinner we had was a bit expensive...

Today we ate delicious oysters with a delicious Verdechio. Atmospheric gastrobar, friendly atmosphere, friendly staff. Enjoy the Mediterranean.

You can enjoy delicious food here. However, (this evening) the service was slow and the beers were more foam than BEER (3 fingers). The food was very salty and almost all dishes contained a lot of garlic, which is not normal. The chairs (stools) were quite comfortable. Lots of vegetarian and non-alcoholic options! All in all a great location for a snack and a drink.

Great place! We stopped for lunch and had the Mediterranean lunch board for 2. The aperitif was really good, and there was exactly enough food for a pleasant lunch. Everything was really tasty! We will definitely be back!

We had dinner here yesterday for my birthday. My husband sent an email in advance with the request to put together a menu without fish and no pure garlic flavor or pieces (only as a flavor enhancer, such as in satay sauce) and no fat. 1st course was a platter with cheese and anchovies and a tuna tapanade. Waitress was alerted to the email. She brings the replacement for the fish, which was tsasiki and tomatoes with garlic. Apparently they don't care. 2nd course risotto balls with garlic sauce, grilled cauliflower with creme fraiche and garlic. 3rd course ravioli floating in a bath of broth and garlic. I almost broke my neck. Meat way too salted and the chicken skewer was made from chicken thigh and not chicken fillet. Dessert was way too sweet. And I didn't even get a congratulations on my birthday. Apparently it is only about turnover, the customers are not listened to. So we will never go back here again.

Lovely place to have a quiet and delicious meal, but last night something went wrong and we had to wait a while for the food. Just received a drink on the house from the very friendly ladies at the service!! Definitely worth 5 stars.

Had the surprise menu. Quality was fine, but we were still really hungry after the main course. The waiter was absolutely accommodating and we got some bread as well as fries.

Went there for the first time last night because I had heard so much about this place so I wanted to experience it for myself and I have to say.. 👍🏽👌🏽 The food was tasty, the portions are small and fill up quickly, so it's great instead of large portions. The atmosphere is cozy, with nice music in the background and it was busy... so you have to make a reservation if you want to eat there... this place is highly recommended! Staff is also friendly 👌🏽

The terrace is a bit smaller, but the food makes up for it! Delicious dishes if you like bites and Mediterranean. The white Chardonnay is also a good choice.

Amazing place, nice workers, cheap beer, a casual pub vibe, the outside terrace is always warm due to heaters being on, so it's the perfect place to come for a pint even on a cold winter day. 5/5, one of the best pubs in town, definetly worth paying a visit.

We spontaneously decided to grab a bite to eat there. Kaasplankje was versatile and excellent, simply a pleasure. The bifteki with the fresh tzatziki were very well seasoned and fresh. The price is completely justified. The ambience is very appealing. We will be back.

What a winner! Finally a tapas restaurant with freshly prepared dishes! For example, where do you get freshly made gnocchi? I rarely order a dessert because it is usually purchased ready-made from a wholesaler. Here I got a delicious homemade cheesecake. Service was good too. A mistake was made (it can happen), but they solved it perfectly. Friendly and correct.

Went back today after a successful first time, last time a dish was put on the table that was not yet completely warm, they handled this nicely even though we indicated that it was not necessary. Food is very tasty and there is quite a lot of choice. Service is friendly and listens carefully to the guest's wishes. Everything together made us come back today and it was a success again. Yesterday I chose the surprise menu for the 3rd time since the beginning of October. The classics are not missing and yet delicious dishes are enjoyed 3 times differently. Nice, friendly service. Good ear for our "diet" wishes. It is pleasant to sit there and the food and drinks are always good. No wonder it's always full 😅 We'll be back!
