Had a delicious meal at Gauchos aan de Maas. Rarely have I had such tender and flavorful beef tenderloin. The mushrooms as a side dish are highly recommended; a real taste explosion. Combined with the Argentinian fries, it is absolutely perfect. The service was friendly and attentive. There was one large, noisy group in the restaurant, but that didn't spoil the fun. The atmosphere was good, and you could see that everyone was visibly enjoying the food. I will most certainly be back here!

Compared to other restaurants here in Rotterdam, we found Gauchos to be a very good place with excellent value for money. The prices are a bit higher than in surrounding snack bars and restaurants, and it's advisable to reserve a table on weekends. However, the quality of the food and the competent, unobtrusive service are worth the price. I have rarely eaten such a delicious piece of salmon or such a tenderly cooked chicken breast. The salad my wife ordered was also beautifully presented, fresh, tasty, and crisp, with a few special touches. Those looking for a good wine to accompany their meal will also find a selection on the restaurant's extensive wine list. And to top it all off, there's a fantastic view of the Rotterdam skyline. All in all, a great location and a wonderful place for a good meal or a romantic dinner. If we're ever in the city again, we'll definitely come back.

Food was rather good and the service was friendly. Something I cannot hold myself to mention though is how I felt seeing the all the staff working with long pants. The weather has been extremely hot lately, something we cannot argue about. I felt sadness thinking how they would have been handling it, having worked in horeca myself. Let’s normalise wearing shorts, it won’t make you less of a professional place. Respect is key. Best of luck :)

What can i say, wow! I read mixed reviews about this restaurant so i really didnt know what to expect but our experience was excellent. The meat was fresh, juicy and perfectly cooked. The portions were actually very big. The service was very professional and the restaurant looked fancy and cozy at the same time. We ordered two spare ribs, one with barbecue sauce and one with garlic, that were served with fries. After that, we got the crepe with ice cream and salted caramel and the lemon sorbet. We stayed for several hours and the staff kept checking on us making sure we had all we needed. The food didnt take long to come, just enough for us to actually speak. The location of the restaurant is extremely nice and the view on rotterdam is breath-taking. I would suggest to reserve a table since it's a bit crowded and not too big as a place. The prices were very good for the quality and quantity of what we got. Im gonna reccomand this place to all of my friends and im gonna be back soon!

We went out for dinner here yesterday because we had something to celebrate. What a disappointment. It felt like we had ended up in a pub. There was a large group eating who were very noisy. We could barely hear each other. I just put in my earbuds, which I normally use for concerts. But that wasn't pleasant either, of course. As for the food, it was decent, but very minimal. A few lettuce leaves and a dried tomato were the side dishes. The grilled chicken, which was supposed to be prepared in a chimichurri marinade, tasted like nothing. Bland and dry. The meat was brought first; the fries took their time. Eventually we started eating, otherwise they would get cold. When the fries were brought, we were already halfway through our meat and were asked if we wanted pepper on top. A bit late... We had our dessert elsewhere. A shame for what should have been a pleasant dinner. What I also found strange is that I had to pay 10 euros pp in advance when making the reservation. I have never had to do that anywhere else. Once is enough, never again.

I sat on the terrace yesterday and the staff who came in were very chaotic and irritated. Otherwise, I spent the whole evening on the terrace and was served by a super sweet, sociable girl who clearly has a lot of passion for the hospitality industry, which made it all the better. The meat was top-notch!

Unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet expectations. The service was slow and unorganized, our food arrived very late, part of our order was forgotten, and one of our dishes was mistakenly given to another table. Considering the restaurant wasn’t not even busy, this was surprising. On top of that, the food itself was not very good. Overall, not a great experience.

We were here three years ago and again this year. The meat is truly superb. The restaurant is actually a bit more upscale; you don't often see a steakhouse with white tablecloths. We had the kids' meal, filet mignon, and rump steak, with mushrooms, spinach, and loaded fries with truffle mayonnaise and Parmesan shavings as sides. Everything was very, very tasty, except the spinach was a little bitter. The only downside was that the main courses for the adults arrived before the children's meals, and we had to wait a while for the spinach. We didn't order so many sides that it shouldn't be possible to bring everything at the same time. We adults also ordered dessert, but it didn't arrive until after the children had finished theirs. So, there's room for improvement in the timing. Nevertheless, highly recommended!

Nice place, food was delicious! Personally, I don't really like sitting in a way that allows you to look into the kitchen. The food was excellent but on the expensive side. Fries and the like really should be included in the price. Now you pay about 7 euros more for that.

The food was very good, from the starter to the dessert! It's been a long time since I've eaten such a delicious steak! The service was downright bad; plates were already being cleared while someone was already eating, orders were taken incorrectly, requests for drinks were often delayed, and a smile was nowhere to be seen. I understand that it's difficult with staff, but for that price, I think I should be able to expect a bit more!

Cooks went away for smoking all together for about 30 minutes. It happened this month. Porte was too oily only oil. They returned money back for potate which is ok. Stake was burnt. They don't have much writers so management is not managing situation.

Today was my birthday, and we wanted to celebrate this special moment at El Gauchos, especially because of the incredible view. Unfortunately, we didn't have a reservation because we hadn't been able to book through the website. We arrived around 5:30 PM, and most of the tables were still available. However, the staff was completely unwilling to help us with a table for two. Because we had also received a negative response from El Gauchos, we decided to go to Loetje in the city center. We immediately received a super friendly and welcoming welcome. The staff really went out of their way to help us and make my birthday special. We were extremely satisfied with both the service and the food. Everything was top-notch. We highly recommend Loetje to anyone looking for quality service, dedicated and helpful staff, and a delicious meal.

Had a fantastic steak yesterday. Delicious grilled flavor and tender. But above all, the overall level of service was excellent. The service was top-notch. Highly recommended!

The individual reviews from other reviewers are incomprehensible to us. The service was courteous and good. The food was good for a steakhouse, but could be improved. The restaurant itself is in a great location, and the interior is correspondingly nice. We will gladly come again. Thank you.

Boxing Day 2025: It was, in a word, awful! The fries were overcooked! Argentinian fries: no garlic to be found, only parsley. Tenderloin: poor quality meat and not medium-cooked, but well-done. Salmon: overcooked! Not a single tender piece of salmon to be found. Spare ribs: fatty, never had such bad spare ribs at Gauchos. Carpaccio was meh, not spectacular; homemade is better. And it took far too long for our main course, even though the restaurant wasn't full at the time. We complained about the bill (€325), and we received the drinks (2 bottles of water, 1 cola, 1 orange, and the sandwich for free—a joke, of course). We will never go back to this restaurant! Our Christmas day was completely ruined by this restaurant! The Hague branch is truly fantastic! Gauchos' response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us so thoroughly. We are very sorry to read that your visit to Gauchos Rotterdam on the Maas River was so disappointing in almost every way. It is particularly upsetting that you went home feeling dissatisfied. Unfortunately, our evening out at this restaurant was a bit disappointing. We found the service, in particular, to be truly substandard.

The food was delicious! The grill master prepared fantastically tasty meat! The service was incredibly friendly! We will definitely be back!

The service was incredibly bad. We had to approach the staff ourselves multiple times to place an order. The food was not served all at once, meaning half of it was already cold before we could all eat. Additionally, one person's entire main course was forgotten, which we also had to point out ourselves. That person had to watch as the rest started eating. No bread roll was offered beforehand, nor were we asked if we wanted anything to drink. Deeply disappointed.

Way too loud!! Can’t even hear my table company, I can’t even think, I never get overwhelmed but this is horrible, I’m so overwhelmed and overstimulated. They take way too long to even come up and take your order for just drinks, and just drinks take for ever to get to the table. If it wasn’t for my mother’s birthday, I would have gotten up and left. I do not recommend. The staff look at you like you’re stupid and they assume you know everything they have. We didn’t have the drinks menu, so we asked for it, and the waiter sighed deeply.

Good afternoon, well sorry, in the beginning it was certainly good, but the last time I was invited by my son, it was definitely less so. I didn't find it very clean; the hygiene of the kitchen left a long way to go. We were seated exactly where we could look right into the kitchen, and I was quite shocked that not everything was equally clean🙈. I find that very unfortunate; the food wasn't as great as it used to be either.

The food you get there is really sad: 4 skinny lamb chops. You definitely won't be full from that, so I just made a sandwich at home afterwards.

I made a reservation for 7:30, and the table wasn't available. We had to wait almost half an hour without a free drink. The service was also mediocre and slow. Fortunately, the food was excellent.

Absolutely do not go here! We waited over an hour for our food (burgers and fries) and had to ask several times. We strongly suspect the burgers were microwaved. The texture of the burger showed this. From our table, we had a view of the kitchen and saw the staff constantly working with the microwave, so we wouldn't be surprised. I've never seen anything like this before. The restrooms were filthy, the staff was inexperienced, and the interior is outdated. They should close this place down!

Dit beleid doet de op de website vermelde tekst over het terras volledig teniet. Dus geloof hun mooie tekst op de website niet en zoek een ander restaurant waar je welkom op het terras bent

Hebben heerlijk gegeten. Daar lag het niet aan. Het was de bediening. Wat ging er veel fout en niet alleen aan onze tafel. Verkeerde drankjes halve bestellingen geserveerd. De bediening wist niet naar welke tafel de bestelling moest en maar rondlopen met de bestelling. Het afruimen duurde erg lang en tegen het onfatsoenlijke aan. Niet iets vragen maar met handgebaren. Betrapten ons erop dat wij ons begonnen te ergeren aan het onprofessionele gedrag. Heel jammer. Je mag toch verwachten dat het personeel zeker op deze lokatie zorgt voor een leuk avondje uit. Hier ligt een grote uitdaging voor de managers tenzij ze denken we zitten toch vol. Geen goede reclame dus ook geen aanrader. Zonde want nogmaals het eten was prima.

We ate with the department. The food was good, but our starter hadn't been entered, so we were served our main course. This was compensated by a complimentary dessert. Personal opinion: Gauchos is pricey compared to what you get.

I really like the Gauchos brand. Prices are reasonable. My boyfriend ordered the Lomo med rare and it was served in the perfect temperature. I am not a huge meat eater, so I ordered scallops and a few grilled shrimps. Amazing!! Huge scallops and shrimps. I also loved the spinach underneath. They added a lot of garlic to it. The asparagus side was my favorite. It was an overall good experience. Also small disappointment is that the terrace was closed. It was such a nice summer day! The staff is really nice and helped us with our choices and the menu. I don't understand most of the bad reviews. For us it was a nice evening.

Steakhouses that don't know how to cook steaks. If you order a rare steak, you'll receive it well done. The chimichurri sauce is a kind of onion compote.

I have to be honest, the food is delicious. The price is also reasonable. However, I must also be honest about the service. We waited an hour and a half for the main course. Dishes were forgotten several times, as were the sauces, and the drinks on multiple occasions. As a well-known restaurant, you wouldn't expect this from them, so that is a real shame. In my opinion, there is insufficient staff to support large groups. We will not be returning.

Went here for a dinner out — we tried the steak selection along with a couple of starters and cocktails. Overall a solid experience. The steak itself was good quality, though it was served medium-well instead of the requested medium-rare. Not ideal, but still enjoyable. Portion sizes are generous. Even with the 450g steak, adding a side is doable. Service was on the slow side. It was a quiet evening, yet a cocktail ordered at the start of the main only arrived during dessert. That aside, food and atmosphere were fine.

2/3 years ago I gave this restaurant 5 stars, now changed to barely 3 stars. My partner reserved a table for the restaurant, but when we arrived we could only sit outside on the terrace. You could only sit inside for medical reasons. Sorry but this is just absurd. You reserve to sit inside a restaurant not to be forced to sit outside. The terrace was not even that atmospheric or a real terrace. For a more expensive restaurant like Gauchos you would expect more. Also the service when we arrived was really not very nice or welcoming. Getting seated was not a nice experience and took quite some time to get menu cards. Especially when it’s a birthday dinner this is quite disappointing. Also less stars because the service overal went down. Do have to say that we got the food pretty fast and also because we mentioned we had to leave at a specific time, this was well done. The service got a bit better later on. Overall, I am quite disappointed by this last visit. I had good experiences in the past, for now I will only come back to Gauchos aan de Plas since there the service is much better, better atmosphere and you can choose if you want to sit in or outside.

What a disaster.... Upon arrival, after speaking to someone myself, we were escorted to a table. But after 25 minutes, no one had come by yet for a drink or anything. So we got up and went to Loetje. There, we did get a drink on the table and were served within 5 minutes.

We had a delicious meal with four people. The sirloin and ribeye were perfectly grilled for everyone. The starters, carpaccio, chorizo, and meat empanada, were also flavorful! 💪🏻💪🏻

A dinner out for five of us. What was supposed to be a pleasant evening turned into a disappointment. The restaurant was so noisy, making conversation nearly impossible. The five of us were seated at a table meant for four; there was no other place available. The menu was ridiculously long, making it difficult to look at it in the small space without bumping into each other. We all ordered a good piece of meat, medium/rare, but unfortunately, all were medium/well done. When clearing the table, the waitress asked if everything had been to our liking. One of us politely told her no, with an explanation. The answer he received was, "Well, that happens sometimes." The staff was anything but hospitable and friendly, and the service was lacking. Passing plates of food across tables, in front of several people, is the norm here, and if you refuse to take your food, because you expect staff to serve politely from your side, you get an irritated look and your cutlery is immediately thrown on the table. Over the course of an entire 2.5-hour evening, no one came to our table for a drink once. Eating out should be an experience, in a positive sense, but unfortunately, this was a negative one. This was our last time eating at Gauchos.

The reason I’m giving a one-star review is due to a series of disappointing experiences during what was meant to be a special occasion. Positives: The prices at Gauchos are reasonable, and the outdoor seating offers a beautiful view of the water and the Erasmusbrug, making it a potentially great spot when the weather is nice. Negatives: Unfortunately, the service and food quality were far below expectations. When we arrived, we waited a long time before being seated and had to ask for assistance. The table we were given was dirty with leftover food, sauces, and drinks from previous diners. It took 20 minutes and a direct request to get it cleaned, even though multiple employees walked by and noticed it. After the table was finally cleaned, we ordered a Pepsi Max with a slice of lemon, a chardonnay, and bread as an appetizer. The drinks took another 10-15 minutes to arrive, and the order was incorrect—no chardonnay was served, and I received a regular Pepsi instead of Pepsi Max, without the lemon slice. We were also never asked if we wanted more drinks during our 1.5-hour visit. We never received the bread we ordered, though it initially appeared on the receipt (it was removed upon payment). The main courses were also disappointing: the grilled chicken was dry, and the grilled salmon was overcooked and lacked flavor. The fries were overly oily, making the meal less enjoyable. Overall, while the location and pricing have potential, the service and attention to detail need significant improvement.

Left Gaucho's disappointed for the first time in 20 years. The main course was served in stages. I received the meat, but the sides arrived every few minutes; the asparagus wasn't placed on the table until the steak was already finished, 10 minutes after the meat was served. We had to ask for sauce ourselves. It took a long time for that to be placed on the table as well; the meat was already almost cold. Then I ordered a second glass of red wine, and this also arrived when the meal was finished, even though they order the red wine to go with the meat. The excuse was that it was busy and that's why things weren't running normally, even though not all tables were even occupied. And I have never been to a Gaucho's before where it wasn't full and the service was still good; it's a shame that this location doesn't have that level. The staff were certainly friendly, but I miss a bit of professionalism.

Qué lugar maravilloso, en la orilla del río con vistas al maravilloso horizonte de la ciudad de Rotterdam cerca del puente Erasmusbridge. Reservamos una mesa en la terraza y teníamos unas vistas increíbles, soleadas. Pedimos cerveza y un spritz de Aperol, pero tuvimos que pedir dos veces una pajita. Luego pedimos los pastelitos para empezar. Hay cuatro sabores que fueron enumerados monótonamente. El camarero necesitaba repetirse para que pudiéramos hacer cabezas o colas de las palabras. No está claro cuántos obtendríamos. Cuando llegaron estaban sabrosos, pero uno de ellos se suponía que tenía un sabor a queso azul. Ambos sabían más o menos lo mismo y ningún queso azul había sido dañado en su elaboración. Luego llegó nuestra red y pedí una copa de vino blanco cuando había terminado mi Spritz. De nuevo necesitábamos preguntar dos veces. Cuando finalmente llegó habíamos terminado nuestro plato principal, así que lo envié de vuelta. – Lo descontaré de la cuenta -dijo el camarero, pensando que era útil. Claro que lo harás. La comida de nuevo era buena, pero la hamburguesa Gauchos era demasiado rojo y roscado por dentro. Un doble expreso no debería ser más grande que un café normal, así que ¿qué estaba pasando allí? Al final decidimos pagar dentro, ya que el “camarero” seguía ignorándonos o no estaba cerca para empezar. Terminamos pagando con él detrás de la caja, pero no tenía idea de en qué mesa habíamos estado sentados. Cuando mencionamos los mini pasteles y el vino olvidado los engranajes necesarios parecían hacer clic en su lugar. No hay consejo, eso es seguro. Y no estoy seguro de que volveremos; posiblemente solo para bebidas porque nada supera la vista en esa terraza. Desafortunadamente para Gauchos aan de Maas, esa opinión no es su mérito, sino el de Rotterdam. Decepcionante por decir lo menos y deshacerse de ese camarero.

A bit old-fashioned but super good food

First, I waited 45 minutes for drinks (beer and tea). The starter arrived even earlier. I ordered a medium rack of lamb. I waited a long time and ended up getting it rare. They wanted to re-cook the same one on the same grill because they do that often. Finally, 20 minutes later, I got a new order, and this one was even rarer than the first. All in all, a bad experience.

Was prima hier, ossenhaas perfect naar wens gebakken en ook prima bediening. Al met al een aanrader om met een leuk gezelschap te eten.

We hadden hoge verwachtingen, maar helaas viel het enorm tegen. Bij binnenkomst moesten we smeken om de menukaart en na vier keer vragen kregen we die eindelijk. We waren er om half 8 en het eten kwam pas anderhalf uur later. De steak was medium besteld, maar werd rauw geserveerd. Daarnaast vond een van ons een haar in de steak. De patat was overbakken en het personeel negeerde ons volledig. Zeer teleurstellende ervaring, zeker voor de prijs die je betaalt. Nooit meer terug!

Habitué du Gauchos à Utrecht que nous faisions avant chaque festoche A State Of Trance, maintenant qu'il a déménagé à Rotterdam nous reprenons les bonnes habitudes! Le cadre est très sympas, chaleureux, le personnel également, lieu très propre, rien à redire! Concernant la viande, ................. et bien nous sommes bien dans un Gauchos, très bonne viande argentine, cuisson parfaite, juste un délice! En accompagnement frites de patates douces, également une merveille! Certes le tarif est assez élevé mais cela en vaut vraiment la peine! Également mieux vaut penser à réserver avant (on ne sait jamais)! Bref si vous êtes de passage à Rotterdam n'hésitez pas à y aller casser la croûte vous ne serez pas déçus!

Este es un restaurante de lujo en Hillegersberg. Muy agradable con buena comida. Nunca he comido dentro del restaurante - siempre fuera debido a las excelentes vistas del lago. Lo mejor es hacer reservas porque el lugar se llena rápidamente por las noches y definitivamente por las tardes en días soleados y fines de semana cuando muchos lugareños que tienen barcos están sentados fuera bebiendo durante largos períodos de tiempo. El servicio es mediocre - muchas veces el servicio es lento y usted tiene que llamar al personal con el fin de obtener algo como una recarga. La comida es cara. Recomendaría Gauchos para eventos especiales como celebrar aniversarios, cumpleaños, promociones, etc. o para pasar el rato fuera con una copa de vino en una tarde soleada y tomar el sol y las vistas al lago.

Ondanks onze reservering (voor mijn vrouw en mij) en de ontvangen bevestigingen daarvan per mail, leek men niet op ons te rekenen. Maar na enige tijd kregen we dan toch een tafeltje toegewezen. Het duurde nogal even voordat we een drankje en het eten konden bestellen. De dame die de bestelling wilde opnemen sprak geen Nederlands en was ook niet bereid een poging daartoe te doen. Dus moesten we wachten op iemand die in Rotterdam gewoon Nederlands met ons wilde spreken. We wilden brood vooraf, daarna de hoofdmaaltijd, allebei een schaaltje friet en een glaasje wijn. Niet echt een ingewikkelde bestelling, maar het brood werd geheel vergeten, wij kregen direct ons hoofdgerecht, en nee het brood hoefden we niet meer. En de frietjes werden slechts voor 1 persoon geserveerd. We werden netjes gecompenseerd door 2 wijntjes van het huis en een extra ruim tweede portie friet. Deze positieve actie werd echter weer tenietgedaan door lauwe koffie.

Very disappointing, our son took this to us, so I didn't want to criticize it on the spot. But the experience we are used to from Gauchos was hard to find. No explanation in advance about the types of meat or choices available. Only English speaking waitresses, small table for 3 people. Ordered entrecote for 30 euros with separate side dishes and sauce. It took a very long time for anything to arrive and when the lukewarm meat finally arrived, the sauce and side dishes arrived 10 minutes later, so the meat was now cold. Prices on the drinks bill do not match the prices on the menu. Price and quality are not at all in proportion, unfortunately because we always thought it was a top restaurant chain

AVOID: Dutch Red/Blue Syndrome Sadly, a policy of "no tap water" even when having ordered meals AND beers still applies here. Arguing got us begrudgingly given a small glass each after the usual attempt to embarrass us. Hence extra star. This still happens (only) in NL - but not everywhere. So go elsewhere. Food itself is good. Staff are friendly.

Dear Gauchos team, After our recent experience at Gauchos aan de Maas, we would like to share our disappointment. Last week we had a reservation for dinner. After we took our seats, it took all of 20 minutes before we were helped. After receiving our drinks we ordered our food. To our surprise, it then took an hour before the starter – a carpaccio without flavor – was served. Despite repeated insistence because of our planned movie visit, we had to wait a long time. The main course, a mixed grill, was unfortunately not well prepared and the fries we ordered with it never arrived. It was also striking that the guests next to us, who arrived later, received their starter earlier, but had still not received their main course when we left. Although we mentioned our experiences to the waiter, he seemed to show little interest or empathy. The manager, who was brought in later, even gave the impression of being even less involved. To make matters worse, the manager lost our receipt at checkout, meaning everything had to be re-entered before we could pay. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. We hope you can use this feedback to make improvements. Our suggestions: Provide friendlier and more attentive staff. Increase the speed and quality of the dishes. Apologize when something goes wrong and show empathy to the guest.

Waited half an hour before someone came to ask if we wanted something to drink. Then asked for drinks for half an hour. Waited almost an hour for the food. Then no cutlery and thirst. You have lost a regular guest :(

What ridiculously bad service. The grilled peppers came when the meat was already gone. I was thirsty almost the entire time but no one stopped by. This crew has to go to Gauchos Breda to practice how to do it. Fortunately the meat was as it should be so that is at least something.

We come to this Gauchos aan de Maas for years now anytime we are in Rotterdam. We always had a wonderful evening and celebrated many events there, such as birthdays and graduations. Food was always excellent too. I had a guest from Singapore and was so exited to show her this place. First it was only possible to reserve at 6 pm as everything seemed to be fully book for the entire week. We arrived and the restaurant was totally empty. The waiter receiving us was very kind and welcoming. We had some drinks on the terrace before moving to our table inside. Proud and excited I ordered for the both of us as I thought I knew what was good. I am truly in shock as everything from the wine to the cookie with the coffee was almost not eatable. The meat request was medium rare, but came totally over cooked. The red paprika was nearly raw. The salad, started of cheese and spinach swimming in oil. The wine was acid and probably opened long time ago. I have no words to describe this experience of a place that was once one of my favorites. What a pity. We will never come back

Food top, service top. A beautiful view, in short, highly recommended

Visited Gauchos aan de Maas again 4 May 2024 but was so disappointed to have the same issue as when I last visited in 2017. The food is excellent but the poor poor service just doesn’t make up for spoiling the whole night again. So many people complained and got free stuff which doesn’t solve the problem. On the reservation I was asked if it was anything to add and I said that it was for a birthday. No attention was paid to that. I will definitely not be doing it a 3rd time but do wonder if the other branches can get it right.

Yesterday I visited Gauchos aan de Maas with my friends, this was the first time and also the last time. Firstly, we had to wait an hour before our food was served. We found this to be unacceptably long. In addition, our wishes were not listened to; We ordered medium rare steak, but were served well done. The 3 of us ordered a steak of 400 grams, but all 3 of us received a different piece of meat in size. The fries were also only served after the main course, which is not appropriate. Furthermore, the entrees were not served at the same time, which disrupted the dining experience for our party. Finally, most of the employees spoke English and did not understand our complaints, which made the situation even more frustrating.

We arrived around 5:00 PM to first have a drink on the beautiful terrace in the sun. Here we found a group of about 10 young people hanging around who were shouting and playing around with each other. The manager came out to ask if they were having a good time (very strange in my opinion). By the way, this manager had his Dita sunglasses on all evening while serving food/drinks. Perhaps he felt one with the youth and therefore asked how they were :) Then the manager came over to take our drinks. It immediately went wrong while recording the starter. Normally you get a sandwich with spreads, but we first received our starter where something had gone wrong so we couldn't eat it at the same time and then the bread 5 minutes later. We received the main course about 1 hour and 15 minutes later. The cow probably had to be caught and slaughtered to prepare the Bife de Lomo. There was a lot to like about this piece of meat, for which we paid €55 per 400 grams. First of all, all 3 of us got a different piece of meat, and it clearly did not weigh the same weight. We immediately reported this to the staff and this was strictly opposed. We were looked at a bit sheepishly and were told: “We have a scale and that is not possible!” Then you've finished talking and you don't feel like starting the discussion, otherwise we would also be very hungry. While cutting, we also discovered that the pieces of meat were fully cooked instead of our desired 'medium'. Since we had already consumed about 1/3, we wanted to discuss this and just ate it. At the end, this problem was also raised with another manager. She couldn't understand it either, because they have a scale. Ultimately, she took off 6 cokes to 'ease' the pain. While we were waiting inside while she was editing the receipt, we saw something out of the corner of our eye. Three guesses… The scales! Behind this a man stood chopping pieces of meat as if he were at a local slaughterhouse. In the 3 minutes we were there we didn't see a single piece of meat hit the scale. So it's all a bit strange. Conclusion: we will not eat here again. You basically just get tricked and the staff is very unprofessional and doesn't do much about it. Next time just get a steak at the AH.

We had ordered prawns and were served dry and burnt grilled prawns. Our complaint to the service was answered with “sorry for that” - that was it! Unfortunately we were hungry and ended up eating the prawns (€32) - except for one, which was for the chef! But he didn't want to try them - I can understand that. No quality service and no quality in the kitchen either, a shame for the beautiful place.

Delicious food, friendly service.

Ate last Friday. Reception was not exactly friendly, the gentleman who received us had the same 'friendliness' as a customs officer at Schiphol, no 'good evening, how nice that you are here', but more 'name please, had you made a reservation? I don't see your name, maybe because you're late (we were literally 3 minutes late). No fun or fun to be seen. It also took a lot of effort to order something in the meantime, the service paid little attention to eating customers. The food was also substandard, the salad was a bag of AH mixed lettuce dumped into a fishbowl enriched with 6 slices of cucumber and the fries with truffle mayonnaise were also mediocre. Luckily the meat was good! In the toilets your feet also stuck with every step you took. All in all, I was disappointed with this visit.

Quality mediocre, not what the gauchos should be! The restaurant also looks very dirty, the food takes at least 1.5 hours before it is served!

Always worried that steak will never be prepared properly. But this was totally fine. Wonderfully tender and tastes good.

Food was good but everything took a very long time and service was not good either

The food was delicious and the steak was perfectly medium well, just how I wanted it. The staff is super friendly (some speak English) Although the view over the Maas is very beautiful, the interior is old and the chairs are not very comfortable. It is also very noisy when it gets a bit full, but the very good food makes up for this

Delicious food... just a pity that the next day we saw 2 desserts on the receipt that were not intended for us. Called the next day but nothing could be done about it. We should have noticed this immediately upon checkout... it's a shame!

Went in with high expectations, but left somewhat disappointed. Price/quality out of balance. Food quality good, but atmosphere mediocre and service not excellent.

The meat was tasty. Unfortunately we had to wait almost an hour for it and it was served cold on a cold plate. They did offer to heat it up, just because we had waited so long and were hungry. The service was also not competent. They often didn't notice when you needed help and serving it cold was really a thing for us (also the solution of heating it up). The fries were not tasty. The desserts are tasty.
