Walked in with no reservation on a Sunday evening and taken to a table in the window straightaway. Staff were friendly and helpful. Ordered Fillet and Rib-Eye. Both were fantastic although the rib-eye had the best taste - I find Fillet the mildest cut. The chefs work in an open area in the restaurant so you see what’s going on and get the wonderful aroma of the grill. Very highly recommended.

Visited this evening with my wife and family. Booked quickly after checking the reviews. Welcoming place, friendly and helpful staff, and easy communication in English. The dishes were delicious and respectful of Argentine tradition. Tasty empanadas, well-cooked and very flavorful meats. Definitely a good choice. Congratulations. The bill was reasonable.

We used to be frequent visitors to Gauchos and loved coming here in the past, but after a few years away, we returned to find it has changed—and unfortunately, not in a good way. The highlight was the ribs, which were delicious (the only reason this isn't a one-star review). However, they have discontinued their unlimited ribs option. Beyond that, almost everything else has gone downhill. The physical menu now looks cheap and worn compared to the older versions. The overall taste is quite poor. While keeping salt low might be intentional, they fail to compensate by providing a variety of spices or table condiments. They also no longer serve sauces with the steaks, and fresh ground black pepper is missing. The staff was extremely unfriendly and gave us the distinct feeling that we were unwelcome from the moment we arrived. Given how great this place used to be, this visit was a major letdown. We won't be rushing back.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. The food was amazing, as well as the staff. The total bill was 58 euros with the steak and the drinks. The 440 g steak alone was 40 euros.

Tasty food but was not real warm

It was a bit warm last Friday, and if you've made a reservation, you naturally have to go. The entire facade was practically open, so it was really hot in the restaurant. That was, of course, the downside! The food, a mix of three cuts of meat, was really top-notch, with some fries and vegetables on the side; nothing too complicated. The staff were all super friendly, and the explanation with the glass dome containing the meat made the choice easier. For dessert, a Pastel de Nata, and that was also really great. I will definitely come back to eat at your place again sometime!

No atmosphere. You have to leave quickly. Salmon was burnt. The new one was barely cooked. Grumpy chef (it's an open kitchen) we were sitting right in front of him. The place is crammed together and the tables are placed at right angles to each other so it was awful. Caps and those of the person sitting next to you end up in your face, etc. It was my first time but never again. Out again within an hour. No friendliness, nothing. Thought it was a good restaurant based on hearsay but never again. I know better places. We had reserved online, but he initially wanted to send us away because he only looked at his own list and not the VD Fork list he had too.

The food and service were very good. The hostess was very friendly and the quality of the dishes was good, only the taste of the scallops lagged a bit.

Tasty steaks priced for every appetite.

A carnivore's paradise! The roasted ribs are enormous, measuring 40cm (13 pieces), and the sauce is similar to honey-glazed char siu in China—so satisfying! Regarding the plating mentioned in other reviews, I think it's absolutely not an issue. This place is about being yourself, not chasing some kind of "ambiance." The decor is simple, with an open kitchen, but there's no smell of cooking oil.

Good food and service! Amazing team!! We had such a lovely evening here yesterday. Even though we arrived quite late, the team still welcomed us warmly and the kitchen stayed open, which we really appreciated. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was genuinely kind and attentive. Special thanks to the kind lady who took care of us, I believe her name was Barbara. She truly made our night!

I paid €26 euros for a tiny salmon piece with no sauce. This is ridiculous and the salmon was dry?

We ordered bread beforehand, each a nice piece of meat, and a drink. This doesn't have to be a full evening's entertainment, but we were in at 6:30 PM and out again at 6:58 PM. We were truly astonished at how quickly we were rushed out. The chef was apparently in the most urgent hurry, because medium rare was "bright red." The waitress was baffled by our comment about the meat and cleared the table as usual. In conclusion, we knew Gauchos isn't the most luxurious restaurant, but McDonald's has a longer wait time, a more cozy atmosphere, and you don't pay €80.

Here too, actually too expensive for what you get. The food was good and the staff very friendly.

Busy restaurant, definitely make a reservation. Best tenderloin I've ever had, wonderfully tender. Side dishes can be ordered separately. I thought it was a bit pricey, but in the end, definitely worth it.

Perfect food I hadn't been there in 30 years. I'm not a fan of chain restaurants. However, the quality of the food was superb. My wife's tenderloin was perfectly and beautifully grilled, my lamb tenderloin was wonderfully tender and lightly spiced. The Argentinian sausages and empanadas were excellent. Wine is a bit expensive, between €7 and €8.50 a glass. But with the latter, they had a delicious Norton Malbec Reserve bottle, which costs around €16 in the store. It's a bit tight, though, and reservations are essential. It was completely full on Friday evening. All together, it came to around €125. Not cheap, but good considering the quality.

The first time I came to Rotterdam three years ago, I went for dinner and loved it. Last night we went back; we didn't have a reservation and they served us without any problem. The meats were top quality, and the empanadas were to die for. The waitress was very friendly and the service was excellent. The place is cozy and everything was very clean. I highly recommend it!

In principle, a lovely restaurant with charm and ambiance. Unfortunately, it was very noisy inside, making it difficult to have a proper conversation. The food was quite tasty; we were asked how we wanted it cooked, ordered medium, but it wasn't medium at all, still very rare. It would also have been nice if they had asked sooner if we wanted more drinks. We then intercepted a server who was serving another table and ordered additional drinks. All in all, it was okay, with a little room for improvement.

Great steak restaurant, not quite the experience of years ago. The interior is a bit old and dirty, the food is good, but there are better steak restaurants now for the same price.

Beautiful, cozy restaurant. It's always quite busy, and you sit quite close together. This wasn't a problem for us, which made it even more enjoyable! We had the tenderloin, which was truly sublime and highly recommended. It doesn't come with any sauce, so you can have it plain or with pepper. You can order small side dishes. The service is quick and friendly. They sometimes speak English.

A very nice restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and a good menu. We had a wonderful evening with friends. The only point for improvement: I ordered the Gauchos burger with truffle mayonnaise. The burger was delicious, but I didn't taste much of the truffle mayonnaise... (which you did pay extra for).

Flexible service, switching tables from the terrace to the restaurant. However, upon arrival, I was passed over quite abruptly three times by staff at the entrance/exit, making me feel like I was in the way. Not a warm welcome. The restaurant is very cramped for tall people. The food was mediocre; the fries were far from cooked -> sent back, albeit quickly. The meat was cooked to order and fine, but nothing special. It was all very bland. I could have easily made this at home. The staff takes orders quickly, but when we specifically requested wine with the main course, it was already on the table before the appetizer. We were addressed so abruptly that it became disruptive. "Did you order this?" "Wasn't this you?" Now, I definitely don't pay attention to this. But all in all, and €45+ per person for just a main course and two drinks, I expected more. I won't be back. For me, this was not a relaxing, cozy dinner.

I really wanted to go to an Argentina steakhouse and if I’m being honest, there were not many options that had a good wine list or even Morcilla which was my main interest in finding a place. When I looked at this place online, I saw that it was really close to my hotel so I chose it for convenience sake, and the other Argentinian Steakhouses in Rotterdam were not really appealing to me. On arrival we were able to get our table almost immediately. I can already tell that The restaurant was busy even though there were not many people seated, or I could be totally wrong because there was an upstairs. We had two people waiting on us the first was the receptionist and later what seemed like the server, but no introductions expected. The receptionist forgot two of our orders and when I asked her for the wine list, it didn’t seem to me like they had one because She verbally gave me the wine options. That was a bit of a disappointment because I knew that I wanted a nice steak and I wanted to choose from a list of wine which wine I wanted to pair with my steak, but OK no harm no foul the table wine was good enough. The starters came at two different times, but the meal came at a decent enough time and the steak was wonderful, we had the rocket salad, which was a highlight for me, but what sticks out is the service was very nonchalant and not really engaging or impressionable. The food was great, but it really wasn’t outstanding. Would I come back, maybe not. Its clear why this place is rated a low 4…its not a standout.

We had the most important and amazing dinner of our life here. My boyfriend asked me to be his girlfriend and they were so helpful with taking pictures and making it special for us by decorating and cooperating with my boyfriends plans. Food was also great and the environment was very pleasing. Would recommend to anyone.

New nonsense level 1000 Your main course comes WITHOUT sauce by default. Want sauce with it? You'll pay for it. Truly beyond words!!! The grilled chicken and service were absolutely fine. But no sauce by default, come on, man. Don't lower your standards to a point of being a milking parlor! You'll be paying for a napkin or even a fork.

I'm usually very satisfied, especially with the spareribs—they're always excellent! Unfortunately, this time it deteriorated a bit with each round, which was a real shame. Another disappointment: normally, the staff brings the meat to the table so you can choose, but this time we had to choose from the menu. That detracts somewhat from the overall experience. Hopefully, this is a one-time anomaly.

Well the food was fine, service was mediocre, had to ask several times for a knife. Especially at the end they apparently thought I gave too little tip, got the rest in change almost thrown and walked away quickly. Very strange so I'll go somewhere else.

I have seriously never eaten such delicious spare ribs. There is no special strike sauce over it like at the bears. But that is certainly not necessary. It would even be a shame for the delicious taste. I also had a delicious dessert, a pancake in caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. I have really never eaten so well. We (a team of colleagues at business travel) had an amazing meal at Gauchos Grill Rotterdam Centrum! The group of 8 tried various steams and side orders and our lovely, polite and professional waitress Petra fixed it all - will smile and laughter. If I should put the light on one steak, I think it will be the “Lomo” one, aaamaaazing!

I reserved a table this evening at 6:30, we arrived and had to wait a while, then we quickly found out that they were overbooked and were turning people away, yet after discovering this we stayed and eventually sent away despite having a reservation. I personally find this very unprofessional, if the restaurant is full you shouldn't be able to make a reservation, now it has been indicated that something went wrong in the system, but then you just call. It's because I don't live that far from Rotterdam, but it's still a half hour drive there and half an hour back and now we also have to think about what we're going to eat 👎🏽

I loved the meat 🥩 delicious, the service left something to be desired, the waitresses were very serious, they don't know how to smile, they are abrupt, sometimes a male waiter would appear and save the atmosphere, with friendliness, jokes and relaxed, the desserts were superb, pastel de nata.

We went here for dinner last night, but everything went wrong! And not just with us but also with the people around us. Waited 30 minutes for drinks, then didn't get all the drinks, we had to ask for them again. When the starters were not complete after an hour, we had to ask for them again. Then finally the steaks, the side dishes and sauce were supposed to arrive immediately, but after 15 minutes still nothing! Finally got it, but a cold steak. I would like to say that this was resolved well afterwards by the manager who removed 1 of the steaks from the bill and gave a free glass of wine. But all in all not a good experience, despite the fact that the tenderloin was very tasty, we will never come back here again, I think the service is really downright crap. And with the prices you can also expect high quality and service!

What a bad service! Regularly eaten at Gauchos in Rotterdam at the Plas and at the harbor. Upon entering a hostess who is supposed to be hospitable, but she could not smile... She really wanted to work and welcome guests🙃 Then we were offered a table downstairs, but it was a chicken coop there, so we asked if we could sit upstairs, to which she reacted very irritated... Eventually we got a table upstairs, but had to wait a very long time for our food. Once we got the starter, it took 40 minutes before we got our main course! No next time for us at this Gauchos. What I think is a great Gauchos is the branch in Breda, what a TOP service they have there!!! They come by with pieces of meat and explain it. In addition, the place is very warm and beautifully decorated. As a customer you are really King there!! Next time we will eat there 🤗

There are two different restaurants in Rotterdam called Gauchos and El Gauchos. Their concepts, tastes and everything are different. Gauchos is more elegant like a date place, while El Gauchos is more suitable for taste lovers and those who think about their money. I recommend both, but if I go again, I'd choose El Gauchos.

Not a fan of Gauchos in the UK where I live. However, given the lack of sufficient places in Rotterdam in a busy Sunday evening after the NN Rotterdam marathon this place was a good resort. The burger was OK. Excellent service by the guy who took my orders and was knowledgable of Greek football!

Yesterday my wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal, the food was wonderful.

Vriendelijke ontvangst, we waren met zijn 6-en. Maar dat was tevens het hoogtepunt. Nadat de bestelling was genomen, kregen we onze voorgerecht in delen. Zodoende aten we apart het voorgerecht. Hoofdgerecht duurde heel lang voordat deze geleverd werd. Toen het eindelijk zover was kregen we niet alles. Sauzen vergeten,mais en patat vergeten te brengen. Moesten erom vragen. Een bord ossehaas, werd zwart door en door gebakken geleverd. Maar nog erger de wijn die we hadden besteld werd nooit geschonken. Een restaurant in snel te vergeten. Wij komen zeker nooit meer terug.

As an Argentinian family, we were looking to have an authentic Argentinian meal during our travels. We came across this gem of a Restaurant which had the best steaks cooked to perfection, in a lovely setting, at very reasonable prices, but made all the more special by Jens, the manager, who went out of his way to make our evening truly special. So much so, that we returned for our very last night in Rotterdam to enjoy this fantastic place. I would recommend this place unreservedly. Ask for Jens if you can!

I was very disappointed, ordered a medium rare steak, had to send it back because it was almost still raw, pasta tasted strongly of wine and was not tasty, the restaurant itself is unpleasant, decoration could be better, there is little atmosphere, all in all it was not what we expected.

I eat in restaurants throughout the Netherlands 7 days a week. I can tell you that the price quality in this restaurant is very poor. You can easily eat elsewhere for half the price. I will never come back here again!

The worst gauchos Iv been to hands DOWN!! The menu is nothing like any other gauchos Iv been to, the chorizo sausage is in fact a German bratwurst, when we asked if we could have it taken off the bill the manager was incredibly rude, the Chimichurri sauce wasn’t NOTHING like any other gauchos Iv eaten at, it was basically red peppers and pickles - yuk! Definitely doesn’t complement steak . I asked for my steak medium but it was mostly rare, and felt uncomfortable complaining as the manager made us feel like we was just moaning - we wasn’t! We spent a lot of money there and should have been treated a lot better. Honestly shocked at how bad this place was and shocked how rude the manager was too, Awful place, definitely avoid if your here on a short break of holiday, there’s plenty of other restaurants in the area. Sorry gauchos but if I was the area manager I’d definitely pop in as a mystery diner !!!

Tourist trap! €23 for a very basic burger with fries is excessive! In addition, we were asked to pay €5 extra at the time of the bill under the pretext that we had not reserved by telephone or on their website beforehand. Came in to celebrate valentine, We waited 1 HOUR more for the food, they served other people first that came after us, don’t know why. Maybe because we didnt look fancy enough????? They said we have time untill 22.00, we came in 20.20…. Honestly very disappointed & really bad service. Never again

Ordered 500 grams of rip eye and you expected a large piece of thick meat, but unfortunately you received 2 thoroughly fried shoe soles. The personal was friendly, not all of them, but most of them were.

The meat was well prepared, just as we ordered it (medium and medium well). It was necessary to order a side dish and sauce, otherwise it was a very one-sided meal. Meat focused restaurant with a choice between different kinds of steak and ribs. Tasty and good quality food, friendly service but pretty expensive. Places to sit are sometimes quite cramped and one has to speak up so not to sit uncomfortably.

The quality of food and service is not as good as before anymore. Became very pricy too.
