Ginnies in Wijk 00 Centrum

My birthday cake was super delicious; everyone loved it. The staff was also very friendly, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Ginnie's will definitely be my go-to place for the most delicious cakes and desserts.

We ordered a tasting box for June 14th, but unfortunately, when we picked it up, we were told there were no more boxes available. Our box, containing various flavors for a potential wedding cake, had been given to someone else, which was very strange. At the store, we were told they would accommodate us, as a wedding cake isn't just any old thing. We emailed Ginnies asking what they could do for us, as our trust had been somewhat damaged, as it was only a tasting box now, but would soon be our wedding cake for that special day. Their response was that it was obviously a lot of work for them to create just one tasting box, and that they could accommodate us on the price. They also indicated they only wanted to help people who were enthusiastic and wanted to visit their store. Sorry, but we were incredibly excited; we had been looking forward to tasting the flavors, and Ginnies had made a mistake. But apparently, an error was human, and I can certainly agree with that. However, a certain level of professionalism is also required when it comes to a wedding, and such a mistake is undesirable, since you only get married once. In retrospect, we're glad it went wrong; I'd rather not risk human error at a wedding. We're going for Smores in Maastricht/Meerssen; they're incredibly professional, and you know exactly what to expect. Edit: Since I can't reply to the message below, here's a response. We only spoke to you once on the phone, when we were in the store. Anyone can say sorry, but whether you really mean it is another matter. Your response after your apology was: "But yeah, I can't come all the way to the store to resolve this for you, so yeah, there's nothing I can do about it." I assume you understand that it comes across differently than you suggest in your response. Besides, there was only one email contact, not two. Anyway, just as you're trying to make it sound like we're exaggerating in your response because our wedding isn't scheduled for May 2026! It shows that you're not handling it professionally at all. Even though our wedding is still far in the future, we're people who like to arrange things on time, and as entrepreneurs, you shouldn't judge us or adapt accordingly. It also comes across as very cooperative by saying you want to make one box especially for us, but you're far from being so "friendly" and "enthusiastic" in your communication with us about this. I quote: "But making one tasting box for one couple is quite a job." Okay, so that's fine? If you make a mistake yourself, you don't have to feel sorry for the people who suffer because of your mistake because you have more work? We certainly indicated in our email that we have less confidence, since it's ultimately just that one day. But when the email is answered laconically with, "Sometimes things can go wrong, we're human ;)," that's a bit much. Then I think you're far from trying to instill new trust in people, but are once again being very casual about things as an entrepreneur. The fact that you can then send a polite email after receiving a one-star review speaks volumes, don't you think?

Order: chocolate chip cookie, red velvet cake, cinnamon roll. All absurdly delicious, never eaten such delicious cake in my life. Also the employees are incredibly nice. 10/10, it feels like a fever dream but it is the wonderful, perfect reality

AWESOME! Scheduled an appointment for the tasting box (these were delicious!) with Ginger herself to discuss the design of the cake and gosh the idea was already impressive. But the execution even more so! Speechless! The cake exceeded our expectations and tasted really delicious!! Every guest at the wedding talked about that amazing cake and where we had it made. Price quality ratio is perfect and the service is outstanding! What lovely people and of course the mastermind Ginger herself♡ Very pleasant collaboration! We will never order cake anywhere else again.

Most beautiful & delicious Disney wedding cake EVER😍 From the first day of the super nice conversation to the tasting everything was perfect down to the last detail! We completely trusted Ginnies her creativity! On the day of the wedding we saw the cake for the first time WOW this surpassed everything so incredibly beautiful! Exactly as we wanted it let alone the taste we ourselves & all guests found it delicious even people who don't like cake came to ask for a 2nd piece! We had to wait a few weeks to pick up the tasting box for our wedding cake. This is because they only schedule a moment for this once a quarter. Understandable of course. Last Saturday 14-06-2025 we went to Ginnies full of enthusiasm to pick up our tasting box (1 hour before and back). When I arrived they could not find our order. The girl behind the counter called Ginger the owner. Ginger found out that due to a mistake on their part, our tasting box was not available. What a disappointment, having to wait so long and ultimately nothing available. We asked how this could be solved. Her response was that she could make a new box but this is a lot of work for her because she now has to make a separate box. This sounds more like a reproach to us. If she had done her job properly, this would not have cost her any extra work at all. So not really a comment you make to a customer. When we indicated that we were not sure whether we still had confidence in her company if she had things so badly in order, we were told that she only wants to work with enthusiastic people. She does not want anyone who doubts the professionalism. We were shocked by the extremely rude attitude and the bad service. We certainly expected more from this company. Too bad, if I could have given 0 stars I certainly would have done so.

If you're a fan of sweet treats, you'll LOVE Ginnie's. They offer a wide variety of cookie flavours, different types of brownies, banana bread, and cupcakes. You also have the option to order custom cakes. We have visited multiple times, and we personally love the fudgy salted caramel brownie, the traditional chocolate chip cookie and the biscoff caramel cookie; they are exceptionally good. We didn't like the banana bread and cinnamon twist as much, as they were a bit dry. The matcha and bueno cookies are not as good as they look. However, we are being very critical. Overall, Ginnies offers a sweet treat for all tastes, and if you know what to choose, you'll be happy. Be sure to visit in the morning to ensure you have the full variety on offer, as the cookies often sell out.

I've been getting my birthday cakes from here for the past three years, and I recently ordered my graduation cake before leaving Maastricht. Highly recommend their chocolate and cookie cake — super delicious and always beautifully designed!

Cupcakes etc. are good but not that special to justify the price.

Small shop with lots of baked goods. I bought a cinnamon roll from the day before and a Bueno cookie. I warmed the cinnamon roll in the oven at home, and it tasted delicious. The Bueno cookie was fresh, chocolatey, and had whole nuts. So it really tasted like Bueno. I would buy it again; it was the best cookie of the day.

The cookies are super good, personally the macadamia matcha one. Also their famous cinnamon bread. The boy treated us very kindly and explained the type of cookies to us.

Fantastic little place with some of the most divine tasting cakes and cookies. Simple yet elegant and tastes amazing! Not so sweet that it gives cavities and every bite leads to more! Staff is super friendly and lovely! There is no sitting area, it’s more grab and go which is perfect. Parking can be a problem because it’s street parking so first come…but it’s worth it!

Tasty, although, there is way to much butter cream for a small cake like this. Very thick butter cream layer and just a tiny for the other crème. Last but not least, Slightly overpriced for a butter cream cake.

The location is not perfect. But more important is that we ordered a birthday cake for our son but the cake didn't match the order we did online due to "out of production ". At least could have informed us before so the arrogance of not communicating is bad for business!

The owner was very unfriendly to the girl in front of me and not to me either. I also heard her shouting at the staff, this was not okay The quality was very poor and to be honest it is very overhyped

The best cakes and pastries in Maastricht. The red velvet is our absolute favorite and the best in all of the Netherlands in my opinion. They also have specialty cakes and take specific orders for events (weddings, parties) Some of them look so good, I would be afraid to eat them! The carrot cake is also very good. It's focused on take away though and there is no seating in the store

Got cookies twice. Cookies are very tasty, matcha is highly recommended. But both times we had very unfriendly service. It's that the cookies are so delicious! Hospitality can be better...

Was gifted a lovely little red velvet cake for my birthday, the sponge and cream cheese filling was delicious! And the decoration so cute :) The only thing I would suggest to improve on is the buttercream. Even just refrigerated normally it goes far too hard. I prefer a creamier texture (to match the rest of the cakes’ texture), as most mouthfuls were soft cake, soft cream cheese and then a chunk of hard buttercream. Other than that, I do love the value and other bakes this bakery creates - the cookies are really good!

We had banana bread and a salty caramel brownie there, both were AMAZING. I also had a question about parking outside and both girls working there have explained the parking system for me, very nice of them and very appreciated <3

Ginger really has heart and soul for her profession. The cupcakes and cheesecakes are the best I have ever eaten.

Cake we have is 10/10. Exactly how a cake should taste and the (whipped) cream surrounding it! Not too sweet that makes your throat hurt or makes you tired of it haha. Beautiful business with a woman who does it from passion (which radiates).

Via to good too go terecht gekomen bij Treacle & Spice , mooie trendy winkel , aardig en vriendelijk personeel , snel geholpen en zo de deur weer uit... Eenmaal thuis stiekem toch eventjes snel geproefd en ondertussen kan ik niet wachten tot vanavond na het eten. Amazing, geweldige smaak , mooie presentatie ..al met al , top !! Definitely een aanrader als je opzoek bent naar geweldig lekker gebak en taart . De reguliere prijzen vind ik ook reuze meevallen, bij menig bakker betaal ik hetzelfde en is de smaak not even near als Treacle & Spice ze weet neer te zetten , combineren en over te brengen !! Hulde aan de makers !!

This is the best I have ever tried in Maastricht. I love their red velvet and lemon cupcake. I personally like sweets with a bit sour tastes and not too sweet. These two match my preference so good.

Ik woon in de buurt en loop er altijd langs, ik wilde al lang een keer binnen lopen omdat de winkel er zo mooi en verzorgd uit ziet! Vandaag ben ik binnen gelopen en heb ik de lekkerste koekjes gekocht, voor een zacht prijsje moet ik zeggen. Super vriendelijk geholpen, ik kom snel terug en kan iedereen aanraden ook eens langs te gaan.

I absolutely adore this shop and try to buy sweets here as often as I am able with my student budget! I personally don’t like cake at all and yet I loved all of the ones I have tasted from here. The goods are not only tasty, they also look phenomenal and the shop space also has a very nice ambiance.

Ginger puts her heart into all her work and created a beautiful birthday cake and vegan cheesecakes as well! It was a fantastic highlight to the birthday party and tasted amazing as well ☺️ Thank you Ginger! Will be coming back again ☺️
