Delicious food and friendly staff. They are super fast; I had the spareribs myself and they are 10/10. I can recommend this place to everyone, and for two people, we spent 45 euros per person. For the quality we received, it was absolutely worth it!

Delicious food, nice and hot, and fast! When your glass is empty, the owner comes right over to refill it. He also helps suggest adjustments to the dishes. We would love to come back again.

Upon arrival, I was greeted kindly and quickly secured a table. The tuna melt sandwich, the coffee, and the iced tea tasted fine. Unfortunately, the pleasant atmosphere was immediately ruined after the meal. My table was cleared very quickly, and the employee was immediately ready with the card machine. This gave me a very rushed and rude feeling. As a paying customer, you expect a bit more hospitality and the space to sit quietly on your own.

We ate here on the beautiful terrace; the schnitzels are highly recommended, as is the huge beer menu with over 100 different beers, which we were very happy with as enthusiasts. We will definitely be back for the delicious food and the top-notch staff. See you soon.

During lunch, Sligro brought the order, which caused some commotion while eating. The bread was thickly sliced, and the croquette itself was a bit too cold inside. Due to the limited time I had, I did not ask the wait staff to resolve this. The location is nice, on the square, with a pleasant terrace.

The Raclette was a super fun experience!

Very tasty food and a top-notch host! We were in Germany this week, but the schnitzel here is their specialty, and even without toppings it's really amazing, though I actually find it tastier here. With the toppings it's definitely recommended too! They aren't stingy with the meat and toppings, really great value for money! ;)

A while ago, we participated in a really fun pup quiz at Heren van Houten. First, we enjoyed a delicious three-course dinner. Afterwards, we took part in the pup quiz. The atmosphere was very cozy and lively! All in all, we had a successful evening! We will be there again for the next pup quiz!

What an atmosphere, super cozy and nice, efficient service! We ate incredibly delicious carpaccio, flamkuchen, and very tasty trout, and my husband had a schnitzel that makes the average Austrian schnitzel pale in comparison. Topped off with cheesecake and 2 coffees with chocolates :)) Going to the movies? Eat here first, and your evening will be 100% a success! Big compliments to the kitchen, the service, and the friendly and professional star who runs this lovely place!

Very friendly welcome, fast service. Luckily, we had a reservation for the Saturday evening before the cinema around the corner. It was very noisy, and all the tables were full. The food was good, served quickly from the kitchen, so everything was nice and hot. We didn't have to wait for anything, which was wonderful. The service was perfect. One chair wobbled a bit, but oh well, if that's all it is.

We had a wonderful raclette party here on Christmas Eve. It's a fantastic concept, something we always enjoy on our winter sports holiday. I found out online that Heren van Houten offers this, and it was delicious! Good wines, excellent raclette cheese, and friendly service. We'll definitely be back!

We had a delicious lunch, friendly service, and a lovely atmosphere. They have a clever concept: a 12-uurtje (snack bar) that you can create your own from other dishes on the menu. So you're not limited to the standard croquette, fried egg sandwich, and soup. So we all had a different version of the 12-uurtje. It was a treat!

The spareribs were super tender and practically fell off the bone, and the schnitzel was perfectly cooked – crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Just how it should be! Furthermore, the order was ready on time, and the service was friendly and fast. You can tell they really care about quality and the customer. In short: definitely recommended if you love delicious, well-prepared food. I'll definitely be back! 😄🍽️

For years, it's been a great place for drinks and business meetings. A very extensive menu with a great staff who have gradually become friends. Highly recommended! Delicious schnitzels too.

Had a delicious schnitzel last night! The warm pretzel starter and the potato puffs were also very tasty and original. I'll definitely be back to try the other schnitzels.

If you want authentic German/Austrian food: this is the place. We had excellent flammkuchen, schnitzel and currywurst.

Lovely location on the Rond. We were welcomed by a wonderful host who enthusiastically explained the menu and offered helpful dining suggestions. I chose the bean stew myself, even though I'm certainly not a vegetarian, but it was a truly fantastic meal! The trout looked delicious and was beautifully served.

Had a three-course meal where the flammkuche and schnitzel were good but sticky toffee pie was dry. Fries are not included as standard on the menu, which is strange. It was busy but that meant we had to wait a very long time (+/-1 hour) for our main course.

Response to owner: Nice to hear what I would have ordered. It would have been better to just apologize. I would never have ordered pepper sauce, but that's besides the point. I notice that as an owner you are always on the defensive. I advise you to take a good look at your restaurant and kitchen, because we both became very ill last night with stomach complaints. I'd like to stay alive, but I won't be back and I won't recommend it to anyone else. I wish you the best of luck with your restaurant and hope that you will learn from the reactions of your customers. I don't need a response back anymore. I just hope that you will do something about it, even for people who work for you. Original message: Nice place, especially for a drink or a drink, but unfortunately I didn't think the quality of the food was great. Beef steak on the dry side and the sauce was very spicy for mushroom sauce. Friendly staff.

We had a social deal with my sister and father. And we know: then you don't have to expect a 5-star dinner. But the (presumed) owner was so rude. He was very dismissive of us (because we were on a social deal). He then asked if we wanted bread beforehand (yes, delicious), and if we wanted fries or potato salad with the main course. We also chose. But he didn't mention that it was all extra costs! We still spent an extra 20 euros per person on drinks (ridiculous prices) and side dishes. Still an expensive dinner with little choice on the menu. At the end my father even said something about his blunt way of communicating (he shouted from a distance: WE ARE GOING TO CLOSE!) and he did not react sympathetically to that either. All in all, we will never go here again. Too bad, because the food was quite okay.

The best restaurant in Houten. Cesar's salad was amazing, drinks were also tasty. I really miss this place.

Had dinner here with a friend, we sat inside, the atmosphere was great and the staff were friendly and hospitable. Unfortunately the food was not great, the carpaccio was passable but I have eaten better ones. The steak was drowning in the sauce, I had asked for medium but it seemed mostly well done. The latte was very tasty though.

Such a shame for the operators that the weather was terrible. Great location and good map. So don't forget to have lunch. Q
