No cooling inside, smokers on the terrace while you are eating. Steak cooked too long but no crispy crust.

Even grabbed a beer on a warm day on the terrace of the Heeren van Houten. Very nice location and friendly staff.

Had a three-course meal where the flammkuche and schnitzel were good but sticky toffee pie was dry. Fries are not included as standard on the menu, which is strange. It was busy but that meant we had to wait a very long time (+/-1 hour) for our main course.

Nice meal, Turkish schnitsel. Topping was tasty. Furthermore, good quality and service. Definitely going to eat there again.

This is highly recommended! Very easily accessible by train (within walking distance from the station) or by car. Very friendly and helpful service. Ideal place to meet in the center of the country. Easily accessible from all directions. Delicious food, great menu, great evening.

Very friendly service. Vegetable croquettes were delicious and enjoyed the Burgundian Wienerschnitzel (Swiss and Spanish, see photo). The chocolates with the coffee were a tasty surprise.

We had a social deal with my sister and father. And we know: then you don't have to expect a 5-star dinner. But the (presumed) owner was so rude. He was very dismissive of us (because we were on a social deal). He then asked if we wanted bread beforehand (yes, delicious), and if we wanted fries or potato salad with the main course. We also chose. But he didn't mention that it was all extra costs! We still spent an extra 20 euros per person on drinks (ridiculous prices) and side dishes. Still an expensive dinner with little choice on the menu. At the end my father even said something about his blunt way of communicating (he shouted from a distance: WE ARE GOING TO CLOSE!) and he did not react sympathetically to that either. All in all, we will never go here again. Too bad, because the food was quite okay.

The best restaurant in Houten. Cesar's salad was amazing, drinks were also tasty. I really miss this place.

Had dinner here with a friend, we sat inside, the atmosphere was great and the staff were friendly and hospitable. Unfortunately the food was not great, the carpaccio was passable but I have eaten better ones. The steak was drowning in the sauce, I had asked for medium but it seemed mostly well done. The latte was very tasty though.

Such a shame for the operators that the weather was terrible. Great location and good map. So don't forget to have lunch. Q

On a rainy afternoon in Houten a nice and atmospheric Grand Café called Heren van Houten. In the middle of “het Rond” on the water with a view of the nice center. Delicious bread and the carpaccio was also a good choice! To be repeated.

Nice place close to Houten station. The food was good, there was also a vegan version of the schnitzel that was very tasty, but it's a bit of a shame that you have to pay extra for it (and unfortunately there was no oat milk). Furthermore, the service was excellent, we had a nice time here!

Nice place for lunch, dinner and everything in between. I had a Wienerwald schnitzel with pepper sauce. Very tasty, especially with the homemade fries. I will definitely come back here🥰. There is also a cool terrace outside on the water. Top Location.

We had a compliment and just over an hour and we were allowed 2 sandwiches and a soup with that voucher. I had vegetable soup with brunoise carrot, nice to see, it tasted as it should in my eyes with a pea of ​​celery, carrot, leek and celeriac. Pulled pork and carpaccio sandwich. Very tasty. Nice atmosphere with floral wallpaper and relaxed lounge music. Nice chairs. I think we will go by bike this summer when the terrace opens.

Celebrated our friend's birthday here. She was surprised during dessert with singing and an ice fountain. That was fun. The food here is very good and delicious. The service was also good, we received our drinks regularly. However, the time until we got the starter was a bit long. The time between starter and main course also took a little too long. Those delicious flammkuchen had made us very hungry. Fortunately, dessert and coffee didn't take that long. Nice central location in Houten. This is the 3rd time I have been here, but for me it is no longer necessary. I don't feel like a guest here every time. When I go somewhere to eat or drink, I want to feel welcome. Haven't had it here until 3 times.

Heerlijk buiten geluncht. Tafel wiebelde iets maar dat werd netjes opgelost. Het eten smaakte verrukkelijk, broodje pulled chicken. Voor herhaling vatbaar!

Gezellig gezeten, hoewel het niet druk was. Het menu is redelijk geprijsd en de schnitzel eenvoudig. Echter was het eten van mijn partner zo sterk gekruid dat zij er de hele avond veel last van had!

Prima restaurant met voldoende keus op de menukaart. Wij zaten op het terras en dat is wel een pré t.o.v. binnen vind ik qua ambiance. Tegelijkertijd hadden we helaas de pech dat er een privé feest was binnen en daar ging alle aandacht van het personeel naar toe. Met als gevolg dat we heel lang (meer dan een uur, vervolgens nog weer een uur op het dessert) op ons eten hebben moeten wachten. Daar kregen we vervolgens wel excuses voor van de gastheer, maar iets van het huis aanbieden was wel op z’n plaats geweest.

Vriendelijk, attent. Proeverij van flamkuche en schnitzel prima, forel niet bijzonder. Leuk terras.

We kwamen hier voor het eerst en hadden geluk dat het mooi weer was zodat we buiten konden eten. Mooi groot terras en stond gezellig opgesteld. De bediening was redelijk snel ondanks de drukte. Vriendelijk en correct. Het eten, forel, schnitzel en biefstuk waren zeer smaakvol. Compliment aan de kok.

Helemaal prima. Echt een uitstekende schnitzel, ik heb in Oostenrijk echt wel mindere gehad. Niet al te groot - voor de liefhebber kun je eenmaal per week onbeperkt schnitzel eten (ik zou dan denk ik anderhalf tot twee redden). Bijgerechten bescheiden, maar de prijs was ook bescheiden en bijbestellen is geen probleem.

Ik kwam hier voor een snelle lunch. Er was voldoende plaats op het terras en het was goed weer, dus ik besloot buiten te gaan zitten. De bediening merkte mij direct op en een drankje kwam snel. Ook de kaart was snel gebracht. Daar ik weinig tijd had en de bedieningsmedewerker de ga tafels keurig op volgorde van aankomst af ging voor de bestelling, vreesde ik het ergste voor mijn snelle lunch. Dus toen hij bij mij kwam vroeg ik hem of het mogelijk was om mijn lunch snel te serveren. Gelukkig bleek ik een schnitzel te willen eten en kon die, bij navraag, binnen vijf minuten wel op tafel staan. De gok maar gewaagd en goed gegokt! Niet alleen kwam het eten snel, het was nog erg lekker ook. Compliment voor het hele team.

Ik lees veel klachten over de manager. Ik kan me daar bij aansluiten. Meneer vindt zijn eigen reilen en zeilen belangrijker dan de klant. Ik voelde me geen klant en zal hier niet terugkomen.

Fijne plek om te borrelen en bij te kletsen!

Wij hebben savonds boven een potje pool gespeeld, leuk en rustig omdat er één pool tafel staat mmar het laken is oud en de ballen niet schoon. De huur is dan ook echt veel te hoog. Voor €10 per iur speel je ergens anders op n betere tafel.

Lekker gegeten. Heerlijke knolselderijsoep en een kipsaté.

Op zich prima lunchkaart, maar vrij aan de prijs. €12 voor een broodje. Goed belegd maar niet echt groot, had er niet goed aan voor de lunch. Gezellige locatie, vriendelijke bediening, alleen aan de hoge tafels zit je echt niet lekker. Je kunt je benen er niet kwijt, dus of je zit scheef of wijdbeens. Niet echt ontspannen eten. Meer een statafel.

Wat een gezellig restaurantje op een mooie locatie! We hebben hier heerlijk geluncht, de broodjes waren rijkelijk belegd en de eigenaar ontzettend vriendelijk. Achteraf heeft de eigenaar me ook nog geholpen met het verwezenlijken van een valentijnscadeau voor mn lief. Dan ben je echt een toffe restauranteigenaar!

Prima restaurant, goed eten. Hoge tafels zijn echt vreselijk! Benen kunnen er niet onder, stoel/kruk niet aan te schuiven, dus lekker zitten is geen optie. Jammer want eten is goed, bediening enthousiast maar wij gaan daar niet snel weer zitten/hangen

We hebben hier heerlijk gegeten. Goede bediening. De hoge tafel waar we aan zaten was een beetje te hoog voor de stoelen. En er was onvoldoende been ruimte om lekker te zitten.
