Grand-Café De Boskamer in Wijk 00 Putten

Fries and platters. They have an outdoor patio and tables by the pool. Always nice and tidy. Only, there are always dirty ashtrays on the table outside. For the prices they charge for a hamburger, you get a frozen hamburger without a bun of sauce or anything. It's not normal.

Recently made a reservation for a children's party. We booked for 5:30 PM so we could jump into the adjacent pool at 6:00 PM. This was also indicated when making the reservation, and I was assured it would be fine. We received our food at 5:55 PM... So, getting in the water at 6:00 PM was out of the question. The waiters worked hard, but it was clear this place couldn't handle it anymore. It's a shame, because a few years ago we also did this for a party, and there was plenty of time left over, so we had to wait before we could get into the pool. The food itself was fine.

It's a perfectly good place for a pool, but the term "grand café" is a bit of a stretch. Another real drawback is that the only food options are fried or ready-made toasted sandwiches. A tasty sandwich or something while swimming is simply not an option; they simply don't have them, so you'll have to bring your own. A missed opportunity! After all, when you're at the pool, you can't just pop somewhere else for lunch.

Made a reservation for a children's party. Fries were served in a small container over the sauce (the fries were barely a handful). Filed a complaint with the kitchen. They resolved the issue by bringing an extra container of fries. We arrived 10 minutes late because it was so busy during the changing room. I politely reported this, but the fries were served before the children were seated. Made a reservation more than two weeks in advance. A table for 12 people was very cramped. People who simply walked in had more space. All in all, there was poor communication about what was included in the party (and when you could pick it up). No birthday atmosphere. The kitchen lady really did her best to resolve the issue. But I was really disappointed that the party ended like that and that I had to pay €85 😡

Just celebrated a birthday and it was again very well organised

An ideal place to celebrate a children's birthday, for example. Success is assured in advance, partly due to the hospitable ambiance and friendly employees. We would like to rate this with five stars from our own experience!

Good food, cozy atmosphere and nice location

Great food, amazing hospitality and a nice view of the indoor pool. No sound pollution from the pool. A great dining experience 👍

Calling a swimming pool canteen a grand café is, in my opinion, rather overrated. So you can buy fries and ice cream here, which tastes great. Serving plates and salads apparently gives them the privilege of not having to call it a canteen. Tip: drive to the center of Putten, where you can enjoy an excellent meal without the heat and smells of a subtropical swimming paradise.
