We came from Berlin and had a really nice time at Grand Café. Burak was very friendly and welcoming. Such a nice guy, thank you so much for everything🙏🏿

Cozy, slightly dark wood decor. Quick and friendly service. The fish had a crisp, thin breading and was moist inside; the potato slices were well-seasoned and perfectly crispy. The burger was also cooked to perfection, and the portions were generous. Of course, you can also sit outside right by the canal. Highly recommended!

Had an anniversary celebration with a small group of 14 people. We were warmly welcomed, everything was well organized, and the service was great. The food was particularly delicious, and overall, it was a really good experience.

Just made a quick stop Nice and fast service. Old-fashioned smoking is still allowed on the terrace. I don't smoke (anymore), but an older neighbor at another table does; how wonderful it is that a smoking man gets to enjoy a Licor 43 and a cigarette!

Had a delicious lunch here and went back later to watch F1... thought it would be full but there was an influencer present and luckily we were able to watch the race while enjoying a juice.

We had a truly fantastic meal! The spareribs fell off the bone. The appetizer tasting was highly recommended. A small mistake was resolved very well. The only thing that could be improved is the atmosphere. It's quite empty and has large windows that could be used to great effect. Otherwise, it's excellent! The food is definitely recommended!

Great little place to grab a beer. Watched the World Darts Championship final here. Also nice that they serve local beers.

My mother celebrated her 60th birthday with about 35 people. We had appetizers and a dinner buffet, all delicious, and the communication was excellent. They were very helpful and everything was possible. Thanks to De Brass for organizing it; it was perfect, with great staff, food, drinks, and the atmosphere. We had a wonderful evening!

We initially popped in for a drink and ended up having a delicious meal at the Grand Cafe. The appetizer (platter) for two is highly recommended. The main course, steak (perfectly cooked as requested) with vegetables, was delicious. The staff was also friendly and welcoming. In short, we were pleasantly surprised.

Delicious food and not expensive. Nice atmosphere and no annoying background music. We'll definitely be back.

Really the best spare ribs in Leeuwarden

Beautiful woman on the terrace, she was a good kisser but then put me on the train. But very tasty sweet potato fries.

Great terrace with friendly people. The service was a bit disappointing: I wasn't offered a beer because I was underage, which I completely understand; there's nothing wrong with that. What is a shame, however, is that the waiter spent ages at other tables, even though our glasses had already been empty for 20 minutes. My companion and I didn't like that. It was so annoying that my friend wanted to walk over and the other one wanted to leave. Otherwise, it's a nice place, just a shame about this incident. Aperol Spritz costs €9 here, and it's smaller than a wine glass! Small update: the stairs aren't child-friendly. I fell down the stairs, and ouch, my head hurt.

The fish and chips were fantastic. They were also really good. The toasted Brie was also very tasty. The only downside for us... smoking is allowed on the patio.

What a fantastic place! The service was fantastic. I arrived a little late, but luckily they were still able to prepare a dish for me. After comparing all 25 spare rib places in Leeuwarden, I finally settled on this one, and it was a success! Their self-proclaimed "Best in Town" definitely lived up to their reputation. I was hesitant about the curry mayonnaise, but it was a fantastic addition. The spare ribs were so tender they just slid off the bone. 100% recommended!

THIS IS A GREAT PLACE! So, that's out of the way 😉 I really can't understand some of the reviews. We were in Leeuwarden for a weekend and happened upon Grand Café de Brass. A quick glance at the menu was enough to get us a seat on the terrace. After a short wait, we received very friendly service. The food was amazing and the service was superb. We were even offered a drink because there was a glitch in the payment system. 👍🏻 Thank you for the delicious food, we will definitely be back.

Nice terrace but had the worst mojito ever here and it's a shame you can't split the bill.

A nice shop in the heart of the city center with excellent food. A quick heads-up: paying separately is not possible for groups.

Great place, nice staff, watching F1 was fun

Food was delicious, drinks were delicious. But be careful not to have too much fun with your friends. Under the guise of "we have received complaints from other guests, you are too noisy" you are sent away by the staff. You can easily spend a good 1000€ on food and drinks but not enjoy it happily here. They should better add rules of conduct to their menu. So that you know what to expect. In short, you are only allowed to enjoy your expensive snacks here in complete silence.

Last Saturday we had a delicious meal with our family, we had made a reservation, we had never been here before, we also found it quite exciting how the rest of our group would react, well, nothing but praise, I had spare ribs with praise, the best in town, super, in the meantime I read that the day before there was unlimited spare ribs if I had known that.... then I would have come earlier, it was so good, but the rest was also great. Our 3 course menu was perfect, keep it up and you'll see us more often

I'm from Groningen myself and I don't really like Frisians. Personally I think they are strange and backward people. But the spareribs here are delicious!!! They also have their own beer which is fantastic, super quality, will definitely recommend it!!

We rented the Brass for a birthday party. The staff was super sweet and the service was excellent! They were open to everything and everything could be arranged in consultation. We had a great time, having a party at the Brass is definitely recommended!

Had a nice Frisian Eleven Cities beer tasting with tasty matching snacks. The staff was very friendly and had fun talking about the beer and snacks.

Relaxing and delicious food. Nicely decorated bar and comfortable seating areas. The waiter indicated that we might experience drafts at the spot we had chosen (table next to the bar), because the door does not always close properly, and that we were free to move if this bothered us. . Very nice to mention, although it didn't bother us at all. The staff was friendly, spontaneous, and up for a chat, which made the atmosphere very pleasant. The food and drinks were also delicious, all well prepared and everything was correct. The potatoes were really great! Too bad the stewed pears were cold, I'm not used to that. But still tasty. Enough choice on the menu! Toilets (on the top floor via the stairs) were also spacious and neat.

Experience a high beer package with 6 loved ones in Brasserie Spiegelaar on Saturday evening, October 18. Absolutely great. What passion and drive when serving the dishes and matching beers. So much expertise, passion and enthusiasm at the table by host Roy. Nice explanation and enormous passionate expertise about the beers. It turns the evening into a party. There was clearly the same passion and enthusiasm in the kitchen because the dishes also radiated the same perfect, beautiful quality. Everything (from a delicious creamy pasta, a surprisingly beautifully prepared pheasant dish to a perfectly rosé prepared pork tenderloin) everything beautifully prepared, cooked, portioned and presented. .... Man, man, what a party this whole thing is. In terms of content, it exceeds the level of an average brasserie. But as for the atmosphere... Nice and friendly, hospitable, informal, and generous. As a brasserie should be. Top tent for Leeuwarden. We will definitely come back here.

Gezellige tent. Beetje jammer dat als je een fles wijn bestelt je moet betalen voor een karafje kraanwater. Een beetje kraanwater bij een hele fles wijn hoort erbij in te zitten. Als het een fles mineraalwater was dan was het een ander verhaal geweest maar hier krijg je lauw kraan water.

Fijne zomeravond gehad op het terras. Heel vriendelijke, attente bediening! Mooie menukaart, voldoende keuzemogelijkheden. Heerlijke plank om te delen - zie foto Aanrader!

We had a delicious meal on the water with the sun shining while we were helped by Giel and that made our evening! Giel is a super friendly and good waiter which made the experience great! :) The food was very tasty and we were also well taken care of in terms of drinks.

...arrived here after a successful tour of the city and were warmly greeted. There were nice spots available right above the canal. We drank latte macchiato and a hot chocolate drink with apple oil cake & homemade chocolate pastries. It tasted great. We had a lovely time on the canals. Thank you very much, family Windisch

Wonderful tent. We wanted to eat somewhere, because everything was full because of the festival. This also seemed full, but they still looked for a spot for us. Luckily we were able to eat inside! Staff was super sweet, despite it being busy, they offered to take the photo we were trying to take of the group for us, they regularly checked how our experience was and the service was super fast. Delicious food (spareribs and burger, highly recommended!!) 5 stars very deserved!

Delicious food and nice service!

Enjoyed a drink and an extensive (!) snack board in the sun on the terrace. The weather and the crowds in the city on the Friday after Ascension Day were not fully anticipated, which meant things took a little longer. But that only spoiled the fun a little bit.

Nothing special and you can't split the bill. There wasn't much traffic, a very stupid rule from the owner. I don't recommend it.

A nice and cozy cafe. The ambience invites you to linger. The service is friendly and quick. We drank a cappuccino to warm up. The price-performance ratio is good for drinks, but I personally find the food a bit expensive. What is special in the café is the beer range, which has over 80 different beers. Basically, I would be happy to recommend the café and would be happy to come back. Thank you for a pleasant time in the café.

Very bad service, when you sit on the terrace you can wait for hours until they come to you to ask if you want a drink. So ultimately you will have to walk to the bar man/woman to indicate that you would also like a drink. Very bad that the staff does not go to the guests themselves to take an order, if this is the concept please let us know in advance so that this can be taken into account

Beautiful terrace and good food, some tables on the terrace are not completely straight, but that is because the terrace is on a bridge. I come here regularly and always find the pulled pork nachos very tasty. This is on the snack menu but works well as a filling lunch for 1/2 people. Employees are also pleasant and nice.

Ik had voor de lunch pancakes besteld. Mijn idee was dat ze verse pancakes zouden maken, maar ik kreeg gewoon pancakes die ik zelf ook bij de supermarkt kan halen en in twee minuten op kan warmen. En hier betaal ik dan 7 euro voor terwijl ik bij de supermarkt 6 -dezelfde soort- pancakes kan krijgen voor 2 euro (ongeveer).

Vriendelijke bediening, vies toilet en de brownie leek meer op arretjescake. Smaakte wel lekker. 😉 Locatie wel goed.

Eten was heerlijk en personeel erg vriendelijk.

Wij hadden een slechte vega risotto. Maar deze werd gecheckt en toen van de rekening af gehaald. Klasse service! De warme nacho's waren overigens verrukkelijk en wat een prachtig restaurant van binnen!
