Grand Café Haagse Bluf in Wijk 28 Centrum

​Beautiful rooftop terrace in the heart of The Hague. Centrally located restaurant/café with a relaxed atmosphere. We stopped by for lunch and had an iced coffee, a strawberry smoothie, plus some cake and ice cream. The service was friendly and fast (they speak Dutch, English, and German), and the value for money was great considering the quality and location! Food and drinks arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. The food portions at the neighboring tables looked generous (huge!), and there was a climbing frame for the kids. We’d love to come back. Highly recommended: the caramel iced coffee!!!

Especially on a beautiful day, it is wonderful to enjoy a cappuccino with a slice of apple pie on the rooftop terrace in the morning.

Pleasant telephone reservation, friendly, and everything was possible. We had drinks with a group of 13 ladies, featuring delicious bar snacks, a tapas platter, and other bites. Everything was on the table very quickly. Very friendly service: if the sun starts shining nicely, we can also move you to the large outdoor terrace! In short: a warm welcome and a lovely stay! Top-notch!

Visited on 16/5/26 this place is a real hidden gem in the heart of den haag. The rooftop terrace is the perfect suntrap and spacious with a small kids play area. The service was 10 out of 10. All of the food was beautiful. This place should have higher *s.

The sandwiches were very good. You can definitely eat and drink here. There's a nice, cozy terrace where you can sit, and music is playing in the background.

It was quiet for a Saturday night. The food was delicious. Gamba and Lamb. The crème brûlée is highly recommended. Friendly service. Simply good.

Disgraceful treatment - Any sense of hospitality is lacking. In my experience, hospitality is not a priority here. Anyone who wants to dine undisturbed or feel welcome should skip this restaurant. There are so many better options... We had a reservation here. Upon arrival, the restaurant was remarkably quiet. Strangely, an appetizer was not possible because the kitchen would close at 9:00 PM. This had not been communicated in advance. Dessert or coffee were no longer available at 9:30 PM. The hostess forced us to pay immediately and leave. I have extensive experience in the hospitality industry, and this is not a Michelin-starred restaurant, but I have never encountered such rudeness.

Just had a drink and a piece of cake here. It was good, but we're used to slightly larger slices of cake. It was incredibly busy, but the staff kept an eye on everything and worked quickly.

Too expensive for what you get, lots of green and with satay two whole pieces of prawn crackers, the owner was very curt and yelled at the employee about water or not pffff, also the place was not clean and the menu looked like rats had nibbled on it, so no next time🫤

Friendly staff. Cozy, and the carillon from the turret every half hour. Pleasant outside in November. Then they turn on the heater in the evening.

Convenience food isn't supposed to be bad, but here it isn't good. Pancake dry and not warm. Too bad, it could be so much better!

Normally standard waiting time before you get served; I only give 4 stars if it is just a little bit faster than normal, and I only give 5 stars if I really don't have to wait to order and pay afterwards, e.g.; the staff members see people and take their order or come back later when they see that we have made a choice, and when we want to pay, they immediately see, "Oh, they are finished, maybe they want to order something else or settle the bill."

Went for a hot chocolate and a pastry. The chocolate milk was tasteless and watery. The apple pie was old and hard. The waitress, an older woman, was incredibly unfriendly, barely saying hello or goodbye. An unbelievable downfall from years ago.

We were greeted kindly and shown to our table. Unfortunately, the spare ribs were very dry and almost burnt in some places (the ends were really black). They seemed unmarinated. Otherwise, a fine place to sit.

The food is decent. Great service from the gentleman from Slovakia and sitting outside was nice. There is a small playground for small kiddos. There is ample sitting spaces. The desserts are ok. A little commercial in taste. A fantastic place to take a lunch or drink break from the busy shopping downstairs.

It is a place we would go for a drink, rather than food. The roof terrace is very nice, the inside also looks cozy and pleasant. The service is also good.

The best part of the Cafe is his very friendly waiter (I don't know the name). I went twice and he was there so must be a regular employee. Extremely friendly, polite and remember his customers. Coffee is good. Huge outdoor seating area. Nice rooftop!

An oasis of calm in the heart of The Hague. Lovely sunny terrace, away from the hustle and bustle downstairs. Friendly staff, but sometimes (despite a few tables being occupied) it takes a while to get their attention.

Both indoors and outdoors, it's a pleasant place to enjoy a drink or a meal. Outside, there's a rooftop terrace where you can relax in the sun. They sometimes host parties with a live DJ. The food isn't particularly special, but it's good enough for a quick bite.

Wat een gezellig restaurant. Het dakterras is leuk op een mooie avond. Helaas is er weinig avondzon door een hoog gebouw ervoor. De service is amicaal en goed. Het eten is prima. Ik heb lekkere gamba's vooraf gegeten en een salade biefstukpuntjes als hoofdgerecht. Ook nog een erg lekker nagerecht. Chocoladecake met ijs en slagroom.

Great place for a delicious meal. You can take the stairs or elevator up. Friendly staff greet you and are happy to help. The food was delicious. A chicken satay, drink, and coffee cost less than 20 euros. I definitely recommend this place!

Waited 1 hour for pancakes. Never arrived. Our fries order wasn’t on the system either after an hour. Farmer’s omelette was okay but really mid and bland. Only 1 person got the food and the other wasted 1 hour without any food. Coffee with oat milk was good. That’s about it.

Only see 1 girl working there, taking orders, making food. Ordered a few things which never came. Left after an hour after only receiving the coffee and 1 dish we ordered from the 3. The coffee was decent though.

Very cozy little and intimate eatery with a good selection of breakfast and lunch dishes. Have tried pancakes before which were very good. This time we tried two ciabattas. The one with spicy chicken was very good. The meat was tender and had good flavor. Large portions that keep you full for a long time. The ham dish was also very good! Will definitely come back next time I'm in town.

Great place to spend time on the terrace in spring/summer. It feels like you're not in the center of The Hague. Surrounded by buildings, so you're hardly bothered by the wind. The staff is professional and incredibly friendly. They keep an eye on everything! The atmosphere is always pleasant. My favorite spot when I'm in The Hague.

Great bar-restaurant, with big windows and art nouveau vibes. When the weather allows you can sit on their spacious roof terrace away from all the city traffic noise. Nice refreshing smoothies on the menu, but not so many non-alcoholic beer or wines.

We first had tea and cakes in the attached brasserie and later moved to the terrace to soak up the sun. What a beautiful place and what an exceptional service team! We've been to many cities, but I've rarely experienced such friendliness. We had a few drinks and a wonderful time, thanks to the service and the wonderful terrace 🫶🏼

Hier prima geluncht bij koud weer, op de 1e verdieping met mooi uitzicht. En zelfs met een lift bereikbaar. Lekkere pannenkoeken, nette prijs en prima bediening. In de zomer is er een mooi dakterras, voor een andere keer!

Went in for a little afternoon snack after a long walk in the city center. The location is nice and the staff is friendly. However the poffertjes were really disappointing and definitely not fresh. The texture was spongy and they weren’t warm, which can only mean they were microwaved. We’ve never had that before in a restaurant, let alone for that price… The smoothies were pretty good.

Wonderful / spectacular service, with a warm and festive ambiance (it was holiday season). Incredible Dutch cuisine, especially Dutch pancake and pea soup. They also serve good coffee.

The most beautiful terrace in The Hague! What a great spot. We just went here for a glass of wine and a sandwich. Wine was not fantastic but okay, the bread was very good, the spreads were less so, but still fine!

We ordered satay, we asked if it came with fries. She had to ask a colleague about that, no, that wasn't an option. We wanted it anyway. Received one satay skewer with some raw vegetables and a small piece of bread for €15. My surprise when I read the reviews here and saw a photo of someone with a large plate of satay with fries. Staff has no idea what is on the menu. Not recommended. Haagse Bluf is also whipped air.

Special place in the heart of The Hague

A quick stop in this shop tought us that not all cacao is tasty. The suggary mess was barely drinkable and was a grand disappointment. The coffee was okay, but nothing to write home about. I was a bit scared of some wooden boards on the way up, they a bit too much leeway.

And above all: a beautiful roof terrace!

Everything is good in this city now! And the atmosphere, and the food, and the service. I recommend! They ate ribs - it was incredibly delicious!

Came in for lunch yesterday, the restaurant has a lovely decor. We both had sandwiches - mine was smoked salmon with a mustard-dill dressing, very tasty. My husband had peri peri chicken which he liked. You can choose white, dark (waldkorn) or ciabatta bread - we had the waldkorn. We were about 30 euros for the 2 sandwiches, a small beer and a rose wine - the sandwiches were a decent size so reasonable value overall.

I didn't want to say anything about this at first, but I'm going to anyway. A few days ago my husband and I were craving fresh poffertjes. After more than 30 minutes of waiting, they finally arrived. 12 pathetic, fat, dirty pancakes. And they certainly weren't fresh. Straight out of the package… and for that price!! Scandalous. Too bad because it looks so nice. A one-off for me.

Had lunch for the first time today and it certainly wasn't the last time! In addition to the beautiful location, nice waiter and delicious food, the owner was also super customer-friendly! I had the tuna salad, didn't notice the green beans were missing and didn't miss it either, but a vinegar whiner next to us complained about it, she got a free drink. I commented to the owner that the salad was also great without beans, then she gave us a glass of prosecco, but I didn't want that because the salad was just delicious! But she insisted. So really a top place with delicious food (including the tuna salad without green beans) with super customer-friendly service 👌

Beautiful location and great service

Today, as a born Hagenees, I had lunch here for the first time. Operation and speed are top notch. I thought the food was disproportionate compared to the price. There was no Club Sandwich and with my other choice with brown bread I didn't think the bread was really fresh. My wife's choice was also poor. Maybe visit again in the summer to view the terrace, because it was still very warm inside.

Comfortable. Spacious. Nice decoration. Finally after some months it's renovated and back in business. We missed you. The service is fast and efficient. My favourite dishes are Thai salad, boerenomelet and uitsmijter. Coffee is also great. I hope the heated terrasse will open back soon despite the winter weather.

Mooie plek in het centrum van Den Haag. De zaak is binnen heel sfeervol het eten was heerlijk we hebben geluncht de lunchkaart is zeer gevarieerd. De bediening enthousiast en heel vriendelijk. We gaan zeker nog een keer en bij beter weer op het mooie terras.

We were looking for a nice place for lunch and as my lovely Dutch company was up for his beloved boterham/broodje as usual we came across the Haagse Bluf. As I got convinced that I should be 'a little bit more Dutch' this time I ordered a sandwich as well (the 'gezonde') which was basically nothing special but the combination of the toppings was well chosen! I also liked the other one ('carpaccio met pesto') a lot! As dessert we chose Poffertjes met Slagroom which tasted also really good :) The waitress was very kind and we liked the atmosphere, so altogether it was a decent Dutch lunch with my boterhammetje 🥪🥞
