We had a delicious meal, a Holzplatte. Yes, I have a tip for them: come a bit early to clear the table and ask if we'd like another drink. That could easily increase your sales.

Delicious food, friendly and hospitable service and a cozy and atmospheric setting.

It's nice to hang out there, but it's quite pricey. It used to be a workers' hangout, but now they can't afford to eat and drink there. I think if they make it more attractive, more people will come.☺️👍 Best regards 😎

On October 31st, we enjoyed the game menu, a full evening's dinner. After a warm welcome on the terrace, lit by candles and fire pits, we were warmly greeted in the Ouhrlokaal and shown to our table. The tables were beautifully set and spaciously arranged. The dinner itself was very good and tastefully presented. Compliments to the chefs, service, and Schoemaker wine merchants!

We had a delicious meal in a pleasant atmosphere with friendly and efficient service. We absolutely don't recognize the negative reviews and will definitely be back. Thanks!

Fancy a drink at DRU? We waited for over fifteen minutes. No one came to take an order, even though it wasn't busy for a Saturday night. We put our coats back on and left.

Last Saturday, I reserved a table for three people on the terrace by phone, which was confirmed an hour in advance. However, upon arrival, there was no table available. We were told, without apology, to sit inside. When I confirmed that we had indeed reserved outside, we were reluctantly assigned a high table with a standing/seating position, with the promise that we could move later if necessary. The hospitality and hospitality left much to be desired: a request for an ashtray was bluntly rejected ("just stand there if you want to smoke"), and we felt treated downright rudely. Eventually, we had enough and left without ordering anything. We went to the Schnackert in Anholt, where we received a friendly welcome, had a delicious meal, and were allowed to smoke on the terrace. We might return to Het Schaftlokaal in the future, but this experience was messy, unprofessional, and rude. Definitely room for improvement!

We had a wonderful meal with a group of six. Everything was delicious, from the meat and fish to the surprise arrangement. Delicious sweet treats with the coffee.

The starter and main course were delicious! I don't think the dessert was worth the price. One hard scoop of vanilla ice cream with a dollop of whipped cream and no real chocolate sauce is worth 9.50. It was also very hot and stuffy inside. So be careful, if it's 30+ degrees outside, it's definitely hot inside, even without a breath of wind. Still, 4 stars because we had a delicious meal otherwise.

Beautiful building, good value for money. The salad was presented separately, in a cup, and the pine nuts weren't toasted. The fries and especially the mayo were delicious. The beef stew was also very tasty. No toothpicks were provided. Delicious coffee with Grand Marnier in a preheated glass. The waiter was top-notch.

Very nice and relaxed place to eat and drink something. Friendly and attentive staff. We chose the snack platter and shared it. Our dogs were welcome outside, unfortunately dogs are not allowed inside.

I come here every week. Gluten free uitsmijter carpaccio is a must! The rest of the menu is also very tasty. The atmosphere is always good. Beautifully situated on the water, in industrial heritage.

What a great place!! Ate solo, dog is allowed on the terrace and gets a bowl of water. Excellent, attentive service outside. No room for a chat, she was alone. The food (aubergine with goat cheese) was fine in terms of taste. But when will this crazy hype of serving things in a pan (small pan) on a plank stop? With a snack, à la! Serving a soup in a pan? Fine! But fishing grilled aubergine out of a pan with a knife and fork... I didn't like it! Give me a plate next time. On to the salad. In any case, no salad soaked in dressing. Plus point. But salad also from a pan??? My brain couldn't handle this! Something that comes out of a pan (no matter how small) suggests that it is warm. The uncut cherry tomatoes, not possible in this way. Take the trouble to cut them in half, because you only eat such a thing whole at home, right? Cutting in this pan is not possible😫 In the end, there was more on the table than ended up in my mouth and I gave up. Fortunately, what I could bring to my mouth tasted good.

I often come to Schaftlokaal for a nice lunch. But I didn't know they also had good options for drinks. Enjoyed this delicious bowl of nachos and the gyozas. A cozy space and it's always busy! The staff is also very friendly and you are helped quickly.

A cheeseburger with some fried cheddar cheese on a dry bun with a toothpick, served with mixed lettuce, overcooked fried potato wedges and mustard mayonnaise. This was a huge disappointment for me. The hamburger had little taste. The sandwich was too dry and not toasted. The mixed lettuce was served in a bowl. I would have liked to see it served on a plate that was nicely presented. (The eye also eats.) With a real hamburger bun. With some real Zaanse mayonnaise and tomato ketchup. Then the meal would have been tastier. I also thought €20.50 was a lot of money to pay for such a mediocre quality menu. Which I left for more than half. I will eat in Germany again, it tastes better, looks better and only costs half.

Been there a number of times for a break during walking, service was good and so were the drinks. Prices could be a little less.

We got a delicious mustard soup from the house. The staff was friendly, indicated what was in the soup, the secret ingredient ;) The menu is very nice to share or make your own main course.

My favorite place and kind of a trip down to memory lane. I worked at the DRU for about 12 years in the 1980s and it was so fantastic that a lot has been preserved. My nicest employer and with the nicest colleagues at the time. The Schaftlokaal still exudes that atmosphere, it is very relaxed. Special dishes with a lot from the region. No fuss or fancy stuff. Just nice to sit and eat there.

A real Valentine's dinner! Excellent price/quality ratio. Qualified staff with real attention for us. Good cuisine. Flexible choice option regarding meat/fish preferences. Knowledge of wines. More than enough time between dishes. We really enjoyed this evening. A special experience. We go here more often!

Ouhr local is a top location in terms of atmosphere. The game evening was very well organized and all dishes were of very good quality. The wines were all very good too. The service is friendly, professional and alert. Points of criticism: the main course was not served hot enough, domestic duck is not game :) and the coffee was a letdown (we left it alone). However, this was more than compensated. In short, we enjoyed this event and can highly recommend it!

Delicious food, super friendly staff and the perfect location. Parking nearby is easy and free. The restaurant offers loads of options to choose from for food and drinks. I personally recommend the burger for lunch since this was super delicious.

Last night we participated in the Wild Package including wine package. The atmosphere and ambiance were, in a word, fantastic. Welcomed outside with a small snack and drink. Then we entered the Ouhr classroom and were led to a table. Enjoyed all the food and accompanying wines by Schoemaker. A lovely, peaceful meal with all the flavors that come with it. Service by the staff was also top notch. Next year again.

Delicious game dishes, from surprising combinations to traditional ones. No fewer than 5 courses, a welcome drink and a suitable wine arrangement. Nice terrace, delicious food. The Holtzplatte is similar to a Twaalfuurtje, and Eggs Benedict with unfortunately only one egg, but a lot of salmon. Also reasonably priced.

Zero stars for us. What a terrible mockery. Waited for over half an hour to order something, and was told twice 'I'll be with you shortly'. All tables after us had drinks in the meantime. Then just got up. What bad service. Never again for us.

Met vrienden gegeten bij het Schaftlokaal in Ulft en dat was prima. Het eten was goed, de bediening vriendelijk, maar niet een uitzonderlijk restaurant. Het restaurant had veel gerechten om te delen en dat stond ook bijna bij elk gerecht. Een kleine keuze uit "normale" a la cart gerechten.

Delicious food and more than enough. We had the pots and pans tasting. Friendly and attentive service, especially for the children.

What a beautiful and special location! The food is incredibly tasty and plentiful. Healthy. It also looks beautiful. We chose the surprise menu (something with pots and pans) with all small dishes. A combination of various flavors where every bite gives a different sensation. They take any allergies into account. And we received very nice and professional help.

Nice place, nice terrace. However! Food is usually disappointing, service is friendly but slow. Despite all this, we keep coming, because it's a cool place! Now for a review after half a liter of Grolsch Weizen. €9.25 a bit of an exaggeration even though I know that Grolsch brewery prefers to squeeze their customers!

Still had some amazing moments. It is very quiet in the restaurant. That has been noticed before. Then a lady wants to open the door, which turned out not to be an entrance. Made the comment to the employee that a lady could not find the entrance. “Oh, that happens often.” Honestly! If you want to have customers in the business, being able to find the entrance is step number one. The terrace also closed around 7 p.m. even though the weather was nice to sit outside. This mediocre entrepreneurship is unbelievable. Then the restaurant. Looks neat, nice style. But it is big and above all empty. And that's just a shame. The starter was fine. A good 7. This was mainly due to the prawns, which were good!! The main course was disappointing. Due to the indicated lactose intolerance, some things were omitted instead of an alternative being offered. Rather dry cooked vegetables, no sauce on vegetables and fish, also somewhat bland in taste. Come on chef! Isn't that what you learned a trade for?! Then you simply replace products! Then don't serve half a menu. The vegetarian burger was surprisingly good.

Our salads with goat's cheese were delivered later than the dishes of our table companions and were disappointing. Goat cheese was nice and lukewarm, the grilled vegetables and cherry tomatoes came straight from the refrigerator and were stone cold. That does not improve the taste. We didn't find it pleasant to eat. In between, no one came to ask if everything was okay. Also had to wait a long time for service to pay.

Drank coffee very strong and half a cup three euros very expensive.

Just tried to eat again after some bad experiences. Tried it, because although the drinks and the amuse soup arrived very quickly on the table with 3 staff, the same staff did not realize that we might also want to order food. There were 5 tables occupied including ours, so it wasn't busy. After 45 minutes and after other tables that came after us were served, we left. The service wasn't even surprised and we didn't have to pay for the drinks. That is a gesture, but it is a shame that it has to come to this. This is a great pity, fantastic location and the last time we ate there (even in all kinds of situations) it was very tasty. Unfortunately, no more dinner at the Schaftlokaal for us!

Attended 'Music on Sunday' for the first time. Places reserved in advance. It's a shame that (precisely because of the reservation specifically for that live music) you appear to be tucked away in a corner at the back of the restaurant upon entering with absolutely NO view of the band, where the sound is also quite terrible. While it later turns out that people are leaving who came for lunch. So there's no point in making a reservation! Just before we got tired of the noise and lack of view, we were able to move to a vacant table in a better spot. That made a difference. Another strange thing at 'het Schaftlokaal: the absence of a decent drinks menu. There is something on a wall somewhere, but that was also not readable at all from our table and turned out to be far from complete. When asked, the friendly waiter gives a quick list of about 12 beers, but there is no further information about those beers. And the summary is too quick. Well-intentioned, but REALLY NOT USEFUL!!! Isn't it that difficult to provide the guest with complete information in a simple manner, which can then be viewed in some peace and quiet? Come on DRU!!! This is perfectly fine for any self-respecting catering establishment! 'Het Schaftlokaal' is not exactly the best space for live music. Moderate acoustics due to all hard surfaces. On the 2nd seat in the middle it went so much, the sound is a seam at the back. Everything bad then? Certainly not: Service is friendly and quite attentive despite the crowds, in a good mood, the bitterballen are in excellent condition and we also know from experience that you can eat well here. And despite the mediocre start to the afternoon and the (actually amateurish) lack of information about the range of drinks (sorry, but I can't describe it otherwise), we had a nice afternoon. With some logical guest placement based on a specific reservation by the organization, start an afternoon like this better. And a simple and up-to-date drinks menu (if necessary via QR or simply online)... Well... that shouldn't even be an issue here. And for good sound you ultimately have to just be in the DRU pop hall. My opinion about 'het Schaftlokaal; Quickly get to work to prepare something as simple as a drinks menu (including coffee, soft wines, beers).

Really fantastic food. Lots too...your belly full. Cozy atmosphere. Beautiful location. Everything is really great but 1 downside. They still don't have capuccino with oat milk or soy milk. This is really not possible these days with all those allergies and vegans. But this is really the only thing because the gluten-free rolls are also really tasty.

To be honest, I looked for the meat on the grill plate, I was horrified. I was wondering where the chop came from. That was so small..... Unbelievable. 25€ for that... I'm sorry I didn't get enough...

This afternoon I celebrated my birthday with my family (22 people together). We ate a heron board, fries and some raw vegetables. We all enjoyed it. Service was excellent, friendly and fast We really enjoyed it together. Thank you for this

I thought the bread with dip was a bit too expensive for €9.95, tomato soup was tasty and a really large bowl for €6.95. Main course salmon was very tasty including some grilled vegetables €18.50. Extra fries with burner mayo too. Schnitzel was a bit of a disappointment, not a crispy fried breadcrumb skin, but a limp wet panner flour exterior. No vegetables or salad, nothing at all, for €21.50 hmmm. The coffee was delicious and more than enough. Friendly staff and service as well as the atmosphere.

De DRU Cultuurfabriek is een Nederlands cultureel centrum in Ulft, gemeente Oude IJsselstreek. Nu een aantal keren hier gegeten als gezin en samen met vrienden. Lekker eten, vriendelijke bediening en een prima sfeer. Leuk dat ons oude industriële erfgoed zo behouden blijft. Echt een aanrader. Minpuntjes zijn er niet. Prijzen zijn net zoals in andere restaurants helaas hoger geworden.

De muziek was veel te luid. Normaal gesprek voeren was bijna niet mogelijk. Stem van zangeres was daarbij ook erg schel en hard afgesteld.

GE-WEL-DIG! Met een collega geluncht, de carpaccio besteld. Gevraagd of het een echte carpaccio zou zijn want meestal zijn ze 'uitgekleed'zoals o.a. bij vd Valk. Nou, deze was PERFECT! De beste en lekkerste carpaccio van Noord-Oost Nederland. En super vriendelijke bediening! Wat een geweldige ervaring! En ook nog voor een normale prijs. Het kan dus wel......

Hele mooie locatie. Onervaren en weinig getalenteerd personeel met weinig sociaal inzicht. Spreekt ook geen woord Duits, in een restaurant op 5km. van de grens.

Erg lekker gegeten! Ik had de moink burger en die was zeker voor herhaling vatbaar! De bediening duurde wel wat lang, en er gingen een paar dingen mis met bestellen. Wel een onwijs aardige jongen die ons voornamelijk bediende. Buiten dat een gezellige ervaring in een mooi restaurant!

We konden op 16 september nog buiten eten op het ruime terras. Dat heeft onze voorkeur. Het eten was erg lekker, ook als je vegetarisch wilt eten. We bestelden zoveel we wilden en deelden dat samen, dwz we bestelden in 2 keer. De bediening buiten was druk, maar toch te doen. Van harte aanbevolen! De eerste keer dat we er waren. En een mooie gerestaureerde omgeving van het oude industrieterrein.

Een gezellig cafe waar je ook kunt eten. Het eten wat we kregen was erg lekker (broodje warme geitenkaas en tosti). De ontvangst wat minder. Drie gereserveerde tafels voor de avond. Om 15.00 uur! En we konden er niet gaan zitten. Uitzonderlijk!

Wat een leuke locatie, echt super wat ze met het oude industriegebouw(en) hebben gedaan. Een beperkte kaart maar wel lekker gegeten. Service is prima.

Mooie locatie met mooi en schaduwrijk terras. Vriendelijk personeel. Binnen ook gezellig aangekleed en sanitair dik in orde. We hebben er heerlijk gegeten en wat gedronken. Het is een bezoek zeker de moeite waard.

Hele fraaie locatie, fijne bediening en prima eten. We vonden de porties wel groot, maar eerlijkheidshalve moeten we wel zeggen, dat we geen grote eters zijn. Maar voor ons gevoel moest er wel veel terug. Maar zejer een aanrader!

De DRU in Ulft staat symbool voor de ijzerindustrie in de Achterhoek, die sinds de 18e eeuw furore maakte. Lange tijd was de DRU de belangrijkste werkgever in de regio. Inmiddels is de industriële bedrijvigheid vertrokken. De oude fabrieksgebouwen hebben als industrieel monument bijna allemaal een tweede leven gekregen. Zo ook het schaft lokaal, wat vroeger effectief het schaft lokaal was van de fabriek bevindt zich heden een restaurant met vele knipogen naar het verleden. De originele infrastructuur is deels gebleven en herinnert, samen met vele foto's, aan vroegere tijden. Ruime keuze streekbieren. Vriendelijke bediening en snelle service. Gezellige sfeer.

Uitstekende bediening, goed eten, ruime porties. Fijn terras.

Bij de prijs van een cappuccino is er volgens mij sprake van graaiflatie ,hoe durven ze daar €3,45 voor te vragen.

Toen wij in de omgeving de vrijdag voor pinksteren rond fietste en aan mensen vroegen of ze een leuk, gezellig restaurant wisten met terras waar je vooral ook lekker kon eten , noemde iedereen "Het schaftlokaal". Wij zijn er 2 keer geweest en hebben beide keren met 4 personen bijzonder lekker gegeten. We kregen vooraf een glaasje aardappelsoep van "het huis" en die was verrukkelijk . Die gaan we thuis zeker proberen na te maken. De rest was ook absoluut heerlijk. Wij hadden de "potten en pannen proeverij" als voor en hoofdgerecht en het appart te bestellen het " potten en pannenproeverij dessert" alles was net zo lekker en met zorg gemaakt. We hebben zelfs inspiratie voor thuis opgedaan mbt alle groenten. En nieuwe dingen geproefd, erg leuk. Wij hadden een jonge dame in de bediening die met veel enthousiasme, gezelligheid, kennis en humor bediende. Wat ze niet wist, ging ze gewoon navragen. Wij vonden het zeker een aanrader en zelfs zo leuk dat we een review willen achterlaten...dat zegt vast ook genoeg! ;)
