Grand Café PLEIN in Petten

The food is delicious, and our little grandson received plenty of attention. The service is friendly and quick. We were very satisfied and would happily return again.

We have lunch here regularly and it is always good and cozy! The service is nice and helpful and the food is really delicious. Moreover, the plates are beautifully presented. The menu is diverse and there is also a 3-course menu. Reason to come back.

Good food, lovely atmosphere, great service

I wasn't satisfied 2-3 years ago. I gave the place another chance and was really pleased. We had tournedos and cod. Both were delicious and visually appealing. The tornadoes were a bit overcooked, medium-rare. But since the meat was obviously good quality, it didn't really hurt. Service was very friendly, and the location in the middle of Petten is great. It's only a 5-minute walk to the seafront.

Wow!! Really, how nice and tasty!! Spontaneously entered after a ride but how nice and tasty it was. Service by only enthusiastic people, own beer tasted really great. Also the menu + recommendations of the chef (on a board) looked good and it was difficult to choose. It was busy, but food really did not take long. We regularly came by for a drink or something. for an establishment like this, I will definitely make a ride again and have a nice meal here. A la prochain! Ps: the strolling party next door sounded very cozy.

Delicious steak tartare and a much too big pile of nachos as a starter. As a main course a steak with sambal jus from Peter but that was actually a steak floating in a plate with butter with a little sambal in it. This was served without vegetables and with a slice of bread. Not quite worth the money. The other main course was a hamburger bun 'square' but although it looked nice, I think the burgers came to the freezer of the Spar opposite. Also not very good but not very bad either. The fries were very tasty. For dessert we had a trio of ice cream and a 'pindarots'. These were both certainly the highlight! Snickers on a plate and the coconut ice cream was also really delicious. The ladies helped us very friendly and hospitable and came by often enough to ask if we needed anything else without being pushy. Applause for the ladies! We would definitely eat here again but then at lunch and with a salad. Not much can go wrong with that

We were in Petten and surrounding areas for a midweek. and looked for a nice place to eat. Well you don't have to look any further, because Grand Café Plein is absolutely fantastic. When the weather was nice we sat on the terrace among the locals and tourists. We had chicken satay and the BBQ Burger, accompanied by delicious beers on tap. Well, they were delicious and large portions, good friendly service, so they really understand the catering business here!

On the way back from Amsterdam we were looking for a small restaurant and found out about Cafe Plein through Google reviews. I ate an onion soup and a sea bass there. It's been a long time since I've eaten this good, and my wife and friends we were with also thought the food was very good. If you are cycling along the dune path and are looking for good food, you should definitely stop here. A great young team in service and in the kitchen. The next time we're in Holland, we'll have to drive past there again.

Ate here on Tuesday for my birthday, and this is highly recommended! We had the bao buns and gyoza as a starter and they were delicious! The main courses were also just as tasty. The ribeye and tournedos were well cooked and tasty. We also chose dishes from the daily menu and they were very worthwhile. The lady serving was very friendly and attentive. In short, a good restaurant with a good menu and friendly staff.

Downright bad. We had lunch there. Japanese Ramen soup was a bowl of mammoth noodles with a little broth. Bok choy, egg, etc. were missing. (soup was taken off the bill). Tomato and pepper soup was way too salty. Veal croquettes were fried so fiercely that they were nicely browned on the outside, but still cold on the inside. The ham and cheese spread should have had country ham on it, but it was regular supermarket ham. In short: never again.

We ordered an egg roll and croquettes with bread. The waitress informed us that there was only white bread. We didn't find that a problem. However, under the bouncer there was very old bread and under the croquettes very chopped toasted bread. So bad that it couldn't be cut, only broken.

The service and food are always very good. The restaurant is very nice inside, but the terrace is really in need of an update. Boring gray chairs and tables, the table legs of which are rusting. Not much atmosphere, while it is so cozy inside!

Pleasantly busy and good and smooth service

Great tent with (as the name suggests) a view of the pleasant village square of Petten. We sat on the terrace and enjoyed our lunch (club sandwich and a smokey burger). Staff was very nice and hospitable.

Grand Café Plein is located in a beautiful square. Very nice for a break on a bike tour.

The ladies at the counter are all equally friendly. Everything looks neat. Nice location to walk to from the Watersnip. And they have a car to deliver 👌🏻

Dinner was said to be available from 5 p.m., so the lunch menu arrived (just before) 4 p.m. Inside, the TV is playing loudly with a football match. We grabbed the lunch menu ourselves, because - after a long wait - no one came to us at a table on the terrace. Then wait and wait some more. Another couple sits down nearby and suddenly there she was, they are helped almost immediately. We are still completely ignored. Saying that we were there much earlier was clearly not appreciated. Well, then we got up and went to an occasion where we felt welcome.

Friendly people, but we are not happy with the food. Carrot coconut soup, super hot, my lips burn after 1 bite. There was nothing about spicy with the soup so that was special. The Scottish salmon was also a surprise, there was a piece of whitefish and they couldn't explain what kind of fish it was. The Bimmies were black. In short, you don't have to go there for the food.

Delicious food in a beautiful restaurant. Unfortunately it was very quiet when we were there, which did not improve the atmosphere.

Ordered a double espresso twice, the coffee was so weak that it could not even be considered an Americano. When we announced this, the administration was very laconic. Young inexperienced staff and then charging €4.50 for a double espresso, it should not be allowed.

Really 10/10 this place, last week they perfectly fulfilled a special request from my family and that was so sweet. 🙌 Even though this dish was not standard on the menu, it was so well executed. So, eat at PLEIN if you are in the area and know that they are never afraid to help you with special wishes.

Nice place, great service. Have been eaten there three days in a row during our short trip to holland. First day for take away. Second day in the bar area while watching the darts final. Third day with delivery service. 😄 Thanks again for re-opening the kitchen for us as we were actually too late 🫶

Cafe restaurant is definitely recommended. Everything is clean and fresh. It is wonderful to relax on the terrace (when the weather is good haha).

Not the most vegan-friendly place at this square, but it is often very sunny when you sit outside having view onto cute church building.

My schnitzel was in the deep fryer for too long, which meant my wife's penne had too much lemon and I missed the truffle. All in all too expensive for the hollow tooth. Almost 50€ for nothing. Too bad

Had dinner in this beautiful restaurant on Christmas Eve. The food was of a surprisingly high standard. There is a very good chef cooking here. The service was also very good. In summary: highly recommended.
