Great place to wait for the boat with a snack and a drink.

Since the renovation, it's become much more inviting. We come here occasionally for cappuccino and a Schylger Juttertje (a Dutch beachcomber)! And for the view, of course. The harbor is always lively.

Before leaving for Vlieland, we had a cup of coffee and tea. The service was very friendly and helpful.

The perfect way to start your holiday and be there in good time to see your boat sail into Harlingen harbor. The staff keeps service pleasant and smooth, even when it's very busy. Hats off!

The first thing we were told was that the handcart wasn't welcome for safety reasons. Okay, I can understand that. But we wanted to grab a coffee to go. There was a lot of grumbling from the slightly older male waiter... Meanwhile, we paid €8 (!!!) for two small cappuccinos with oat milk. Then we heard him tell the staff, "We're out of oat milk," and our cappuccinos were thrust into our hands. So what's in our coffee now? After a sip, we knew... it's cow's milk. Thanks for the stomachache! The sandwich was tasty, and the waitresses were friendly.

Gisteravond hier gegeten. Dat was gelijk de laatste keer. Waddenburger komt op een klein wit zacht bolletje, hamburger was in veel vet gebakken waardoor de onderste helft van het bolletje doordrenkt was. Niet veel verse ingrediënten. Dikke parten tomaat. Schnitzel was erg bleek aan de onderkant. Ontbijtspek was kwalijk gebakken en de champignons waren waarschijnlijk al met de naar Terschelling vertrokken. Om te dineren is deze eetgelegenheid niet aan te bevelen. Voor een kop koffie/thee met gebak is het prima. Alles is wel aan de dure kant. Kwaliteit/prijsverhouding is niet oké wat het dineren betreft.

Bij aankomst op overdekt terras duurde het zeer lang voordat de bediening kwam, het stel dat vervolgens na ons aankwam werd als eerste geholpen. Besloten om hier een hapje te eten (verkeerd besluit). Mijn vrouw bestelde een “waddenburger” met jalapenos pepers die volgens ons met de veerboot naar Terschelling waren verdwenen. Het broodje kwam denk ik uit de lokale supermarkt en de onderkant dreef in het vet. Ook zat er een soort van “koude” tomatensalsa onder de hamburger wat het geheel zeer klef, koud en week maakte. Het geheel versierd met kortgebakken ontbijtspek, bah! Ikzelf een schnitzel met champignons, ui en spek besteld. De champignonschijfjes (wel een stuk of 3) evenals de rode ui waren ver te zoeken. Ik weet niet waar de schnitzel in gebakken was, maar was bruin aan de bovenkant en bleek aan de onderkant, leek te drijven in een soort olijfolie waar de herkomst niet van valt te traceren…. Zeer vies! Ook dit versierd met ontbijtspek die even door de pan “gewandeld” heeft, zag er bleek uit, bah! De salade bestond uit een paar blaadjes 2 kleuren sla zonder enige toevoeging van een dressing oid. Voor ons geen reden om hier nog een keer te gaan eten. Prijs/kwaliteit is ver te zoeken, teveel betaalt voor dit eten! De lokale snackbar serveert naar onze mening betere gerechten.

my food was so bad! I had a focaccia tosti kaas and it tasted like it was several days old. It was hard to eat because of how dry it was:( i also had an icecoffee which was way to sweet and clearly not brewed in the restaurant. it tasted like one of those to-go coffees from the supermarket. And for that everything was WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. would not recommend

We'd just sat down when they flew at us as if we'd already made a decision. Too bad, otherwise we'd have grabbed something to go with our coffee.

Just had a beer to watch the canal and moored boats.

Just normal, carpaccio sandwich could be better, dry and meat not really deep red. Cappuccino and ginger tea tasty.

Nice place to sit, however the older waiter was not having a good day! Maybe it is time to retire or find another job! Unfriendly and rushed. We arrived, were not seated yet and did not even get the chance to look at what we wanted to drink. When I asked if they had water for the dog I got the answer that I could get the bowl of water myself. When he walked in I heard him gossiping about us to a colleague. Too bad we had already ordered, but that did not taste good after so much unfriendliness. We will not recommend this place, too unfriendly, not customer-oriented and also expensive. Paid and left to another place 5 minutes further and very friendly service and immediately offered water for our dog.

Before you get on the boat, grab a drink or lunch here. Absolutely fantastic.

The Grand Cafe is located in the departure hall of the ferry service to Terschelling and Vlieland. You can sit inside or outside on a terrace in the sun (if it shines). The menu is diverse. There is cake, bitterballen, hamburger, fish, satay, omelette and more. The coffee is also great. The fries that are served with some dishes are delicious.. The tables at the window side are the nicest because you have a view of the mudflats and incoming and departing boats. The service is friendly and works quickly. Sometimes you have to ask for attention when it is busy, but this is not due to the staff. Dogs are allowed and parking is possible in front of the door, but assume that there is usually no space here. An alternative is the underground garage.

This restaurant is in the ferry terminal, there is parking out front and the restaurant is wheel chair accessible. The staff is kind and the view of the harbor is nice. We found the food to be basic and slightly overpriced for the quality.

Very nice and spacious terrace with a view of the ferry. Free toilets to use in the departure hall of the transfer. A lift available for the disabled. We just had something to drink.

This Grand Café is located in a nice location, near the arrival and departure points of the ferries to and from Vlieland and Terschelling. It is nicely decorated and the view can be fantastic, but is less so on this gray and cold day. Unfortunately, the food was not served at the same time, hence the lower rating for the service. The taste was fine and it fits well. With all the finishing touches, 5 stars are achievable. We approved the bouncer, children's menu and the 12 o'clock hour 😀

Had lunch here with two people on a weekday. The service was very smooth and friendly, and the food was served quickly. The food tasted great, portions were a bit on the small side.

Nice view and nice service. But why does the croquette bread come with a little lettuce and such a nasty sweet dressing? Chop a few olives and an onion over the lettuce and make a dressing in 1 minute with some olive oil, mustard, vinegar, salt and pepper, how difficult can it be? And then no sugar, right?

I drank a large glass of tea there

Had coffee here while waiting for the ferry. The coffee was good, but the staff were a bit blunt.

You can wait until you weigh an ounce, but after drinking they will no longer take orders. There were more around us waiting and beckoning, but no need to serve. We left after waiting 20 minutes.

Super cozy on the terrace, the service is excellent, the food is delicious, especially the tuna salad and the thick fries and sorbet, the view is beautiful, I only come there to enjoy, I have not yet been on the boat

The fish & chips was my choice. The fish is not served here in pieces but as one whole. My experience with this dish elsewhere means that I call the amount of fish limited. Quality was good, which certainly also applied to the homemade sauce. Had to be added from the kitchen. The lettuce that was added was without dressing and therefore had little taste. The fries (for both) were served in 1 bowl. Yes, you were allowed to order extra, but if it was only brought out many minutes after the meal (communication?) this was more of a dessert. No, all in all I didn't think this dinner was great. Regardless of the quality of what was presented, I would have expected more fish for this amount.

The fish and chips were tasty and tasted fresh and well prepared. The fries were also tasty. The lettuce was without dressing and therefore quite tasteless and boring. The quantity, the attachments here in the photo were intended for two people, was actually only just enough. It was said that more fries or salad could be ordered. With an Aperol Spritz and one glass of beer we spent €60 including tip. The view and the place are fantastic.

The two of us had cappucino with apple pie and a sandwich. Cappucino was good, apple pie too cold and the sandwich was fine. Here you have a very nice view of the departing boats and part of the harbor. Nice terrace too. Good atmosphere because of the arriving and departing tourists. Very smooth and friendly service.

You go to this restaurant 3 days in a row, everything is good, beer is nice and cold, everything is great and every time a dish makes me curious, this loadet fries, which I ordered today. First, my beer came nice and cold but in one cracked glass that I let go back. I ordered the frieze and it looked different than what I had seen the previous day, but I hadn't thought anything of it. I don't want to deny that it tasted good, but then the neighbor next to me ordered a (NL) the same dish and lo and behold, that was what I had seen over the days, it was very well filled and there was still good rocket and the sauce was also good Not like mine. When I informed the waitress about it, she said it was a different dish, but it was only available once on the menu and it wasn't after 5 p.m. to make that clear in advance. After my wife and I talked to the waitress about it When she wanted to clarify, she pushed us away and just said sorry, she had only been there for the second day. What should you think of it? I'm very disappointed

This is a great little cafe to sit and get a drink or a sandwich while you wait for the ferry. Grab a seat at the window bar and you can use the binoculars to look out into the sea.

It was very busy because two ferries left at about the same time due to the weather. It therefore took a while to take orders and serve them, but the staff was very friendly. The food was fine but the portions were a bit on the small side. The chicken satay was a single skewer with a small bowl of fries for EUR 18 and the chowder was also less than it looked on the menu with a thin slice of rye bread. It is in a good location, namely directly above the check-in points where you can board the various boats.

Beperkte kaart. Niet veel keus voor vegetariërs. Eten prima. Fraai terras met zicht op het Wad en de haven.

De dikke friet in de folder is een teleurstelling, dit is de 2 de keer al dat ik afvalstukjes voor mijn bord krijgt. Hierdoor de patat bakker een dikke 4 voor zijn rekening. Zo ga je niet met klanten om..

Prima! Lekkere broodjes voor een prima prijs en aardige bediening. Leuke ligging ah begin vd dorpsstraat.

De bediening was zo aardig om een gerecht van de rekening te halen nadat we de risotto hadden omschreven als rijstepap. Fijn dat er dus wel werd gevraagd of alles naar wens was. Na het afrekenen in de auto - nadat een reisgenoot vroeg of we idd de risotto niet hoefden te betalen - het bonnetje gecheckt. Helaas bleek toen dat we de verkeerde tafel hadden afgerekend en alsnog iets te veel hadden betaald. Te weinig verschil om terug te rijden, maar knullig is het wel. Overigens waren de porties groot genoeg (mag best wat minder hoor) en de patat was erg lekker.

Wachtend tot we met de veerboot naar Vlieland konden, gelucht bij dit grand café. Toen we binnen stapte stonden 2 serveerster te kijken naar de wachtende gasten voor de veerboot naar Terschelling en met elkaar al dan niet daarover te babbelen. Enig woord van welkom bleef uit. Vreemd, onbeleefd en ongastvrij. Toen maar zelf een lege tafel opgezocht. Het was niet heel druk dus vrij snel een lege tafel kunnen vinden met uitzicht direct op de haven en de incheck wacht-hal. En dat hebben we geweten: wat een asociale luidruchtige herrie maken de kinderen die naar Terschelling gaan (dit overigens in het zicht van niet-corrigerende ouders die hun kroost hebben afgezet op Harlingen). Daar kan dit grand café natuurlijk niks aan doen, maar een gewaarschuwd mens telt voor twee. Als je meer rust wil zoek een tafeltje verderop. Bij de zwarte zijbankjes zit een stopcontact, handig als je nog effe iets wil opladen. Prima kaart, voor ieder wat wils. Bedienend personeel ok. Jonge knul die sec uitserveerde en afruimde deed het beter dan zijn vrouwelijke collega’s (die wel bestellingen mochten opnemen en afrekeningen mochten afhandelen). Het bedienend personeel kan veel leren van deze jonge knul als het gaat om werk attitude en klantenbenadering. Keuken werkte vlot. Wij aten kroketten op brood, frietjes en bitterballen. Alles werd keurig verzorgd uitgeserveerd. Drankjes werden ook conform bestelling uitgeserveerd. Afrekenen ging vlot. Hier al eerder 2 keer eerder gegeten. 1e keer prima ervaring (vergelijkbaar met bovenstaande = 3e keer) 2e keer was ronduit slecht: onvriendelijke bediening, lang wachten, incomplete bestelling, wantrouwige kortaf chagrijnige bar / kassa medewerker. Gelukkig lijkt het personeel nu proffesioneler en de keuken soepeler te lopen. Hopelijke weten ze dit voort te zetten en nog beter te worden / maken.

Hier iets gedronken voor de boot naar Terschelling vertrok. De Flat White die ik bestelde was een cappuccino. Maar vooruit. Niets van gezegd. Daarna nog voor mijn vrouw een drankje besteld. Een fanta. Wat krijgt ze: een sisi sinas zero. Dat is totaal wat anders en smaakt ook absoluut anders. Je zou verwachten als je iets besteld wat er niet is, want ze hadden geen fanta, dat ze je er over informeren. We hebben er wat van gezegd in dit geval. De reactie was min of meer ‘ jammer, maar u doet het er maar mee’ Een verkeerde koffie en een verkeerd drankje. Volgens mij kan het beter.

Prima plekje om iets te gebruiken of eten met een prachtige uitzicht op het Waddenzee!😃

Netter Service ,Preis Leistung gut ,schöne Aussicht auf den Hafen

Helaas bestek voor 4 personen werd op een hoopje op tafel geworpen en de aspergesoep die wie besteld hadden was goed van smaak maar tegen koud aan. Toch jammer voor zo,n leuke locatie.

Mooi gebak van van der Kloet, prachtig uitzicht op de ferry en de rest van de haven€1,- parkeergeld onder het gebouw!

Mn vakantie gevoel begint hier....met een heerlijk bakkie koffie wachten op de boot.

Helaas waren er tijdens ons bezoek verbouw werkzaamheden met veel lawaai.

Ik had niet veel verwachtingen van een lunch op deze doorgangslokatie maar de kwaliteit van het eten hier is echt goed. Personeel ook kundig etc. Echt een aanrader. Helaas wel een karnemelk gekregen ipv gewone melk maar dat mocht de pret niet drukken.

We nemen meestal koffie,na het wandelen over de haven en strekdam. Bediening heel vriendelijk en uitzicht over het Wad.

Heerlijk geluncht met een prachtig uitzicht. Leuk grapje gemaakt over de fries, want in Friesland maar in dit geval de Engelse vertaling voor patat.

Your dogs are welcome!!! Over the moon with all of it. Food and staff were lovely. I could had sat there all day watching the boats going in and out. I didn't check mobility wise but I think there was a ramp for wheelchairs. Great place!

Bij aankomst voor een heerlijk weekend Terschelling dachten we bij het Grand Café het weekend goed te beginnen. Bij binnenkomst leek het voor ons zelfbediening maar dat werd ons heel snel duidelijk gemaakt door een zure, chagrijnig oudere dame dat dit niet het geval was. Het hele café kreeg te horen hoe verkeerd het wel niet was dat het geen zelfservice was zelfs nadat mijn man zich 3 tot 4 keer zich excuseerde. Tip voor de oude, zure dame: wees begripvol naar de klanten toe. Het was niet expres en met een glimlach bekijk je zoveel meer!!

Heerlijk gegeten. Wat een geweldige combi. Asperges met zalm krieltjes en ei. Leuke bediening, prachtig uitzicht op het wad.

De maaltijden, varkens schnizel en mixed grill, waren goed bereid. De salade en rabarber waren heerlijk. Erg smakelijk waren de desserts, karamelijs en panna cottage.
