Nice place to eat. Been there a few times now. Sometimes the wait staff forgets the order.

The place had just opened when I first came here, so that was 25 years ago now. The quality of the food is the same as it was back then. More than good. We don't come here often, but it remains a treat.

Great place to eat, lunch for us this time, where parking is a breeze. Even though there were two large groups inside, the service and kitchen staff were efficient and stress-free. See you next time.

The restaurant is fine, but it is in need of an update. The menu and the drinks selection feel somewhat dated. There are few non-alcoholic alternatives, no separate drinks menu, and the food menu is a bit dusty. The waiter did manage to make a virgin mojito upon request, but we were told that wasn't actually the intention. Still, the gesture was greatly appreciated! The steak we ordered medium was well-done, and the desserts took a long time to arrive and turned out to have been forgotten (even though it wasn't really busy at the time). In terms of taste, it was all okay. I would say: step it up a notch and take a critical look at the selection. Order a bottle of 0.0% wine and put virgin cocktails on the menu. (The staff can make them anyway). The location is superb, especially the terrace in the summer.

It was a quiet day and both the drinks and the food took a very long time to arrive. Additionally, the food consisted of modest portions for high prices, and the main course was cold. We sent it back and received it back dry from the microwave. Terrible place.

I love coming here, and I do so very regularly for lunch and dinner. Simply cozy and great food. Great service!

We've always had good service, but today was a huge disappointment. We made a reservation for two people early in the afternoon. Arriving at 5:30 PM, we were given a table on the raised platform, where there were three empty two-person tables at that moment. We were seated at the table with a huge fan on the ledge right next to my girlfriend's head, causing a lot of noise. Due to the temperature, all the doors were also open as there was no air conditioning. When we asked for another table, on one of the other two empty tables due to a bit of a draft, to my great surprise, we could only get a table a little further away, completely in the corner out of the wind, which seemed too warm for us. We asked for another table again, but that wasn't possible; they were already reserved. 😳 We had the same problem. The blonde lady who has worked there for years refused to give us another table. So we just left. After being loyal customers for years, we will naturally never go there again. A shame.

I've had a drink here a few times and mainly come on the last Friday of every month to dance. Admission is free then and good music is played.

Super nicely decorated and delicious food!

A really nicely decorated restaurant. Very atmospheric. Close to a station, but also with free parking. You do need to make a reservation, though, because it is often full. Had a delicious meal and attentive service.

The food wasn't as tasty because the vegetables had a moldy taste; fortunately, my table companions didn't experience that. The steak was good.

We stopped here for a bite to eat on the way back from our holiday and were very pleasantly surprised. I had the sea bass and it was delicious and perfectly cooked. My partner had the Black Angus burger and that also looked very appetizing and was more than enough. When ordering, they even asked which cooking method he preferred. If we are ever in the Dordrecht area again, we will definitely come back here.

We come regularly and the service is always excellent. The food is okay too. We had arranged to meet here again on Easter Sunday, but unfortunately there was absolutely no Easter atmosphere. No egg, no Easter bunny. Nothing at all. It is a real shame, because it takes little effort to serve a chocolate egg with the outfit or to put out a few Easter bunnies.

Cozy atmosphere and very affordable

I've had several delicious meals here. Most recently, I had one with my son. We had a delicious ice cream and a cup of coffee, and a scrumptious Koekela chocolate cake. Always good here.

Farewell dinner with some (former) colleagues at Boekmans. It was a wonderful experience and the food was delicious. Very friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Nice place, but personally, I prefer to go here in the summer on the outdoor terrace. The menu isn't very extensive.

Julius is a great guy! I can't describe in words how this man, through his restaurant, doesn't share an honest, friendly experience with everyone who comes here. He's also a spontaneous person who asks if everything was to your liking and only wants to work on improvements.

We went there for dinner with work. As soon as we walked in, someone immediately came to ask for drinks. For the rest of the evening, you had to shout or wait. I ordered a steak because I never got it that good at home, I thought, because it was tough. While chewing, something cracked and my tooth broke. I told them about it, and all they said was, "Oh, that's annoying, we just ate the meat." I also had to pay for everything, as I only had a quarter and didn't need the rest. Cutlery for dessert was thrown on the table, and there were glasses of wine on the bill that we hadn't ordered. So, we won't be eating there again...

After not being here for a long time, I'm sad to say the quality is slowly deteriorating. The menu has also remained essentially unchanged for years. The dishes themselves are good and tasty; that's not the problem. However, the service left much to be desired. We had to ask for another round of drinks ourselves, even though our glasses had been empty for quite some time. The fries ordered as a side dish were forgotten and only brought when the main course was almost finished. We also had to actively request the dessert menu.

A very cozy Eet Café...delicious food, good cuisine. Friendly service. On summer days, you can sit outside on the terrace. Reservations are recommended, as it's always busy.

Thank you, dear Boekmans staff, for creating a wonderful atmosphere and excellent service. The chef pulled out all the stops to serve a meal fit for a king, despite the strict dietary requirements. It was so delicious!

We had another delicious meal at Boekmans.

With the family; four adults and a child went out for dinner. Both burgers were raw. We sent them back. The fries were dry and lukewarm. By the time the burgers came back, the rest of the food was cold. The spare ribs were also undercooked. We sent them back. We didn't charge for them. The glass of house red wine was undrinkable. The bottle had been open too long. We sent them back. Our family dinner was a huge disappointment. We were charged €95. Never again!!!

Delicious lunch in a cozy setting. The service was very friendly. The lunch menu looked great, and the vegan/vegan options were absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.

Vandaag met een grote groep van 24 hier een lunch gegeten, vooraf doorgegeven wat we wilden eten dit was enorm goed geregeld. Van een broodje carpaccio, club kip , Spice kip , sate , pannekoeken , brood met kroket het was allemaal even smaakvol en de bediening was echt super ! Personeel erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk we zijn niets te kort gekomen. Bedankt voor alles en zeker tot een volgende keer. Pluspunt parkeerplaats vd deur !

On August 12th, I went for a birthday dinner. Ordering a drink went wrong. I received a full bottle of green ice tea followed by a glass half-filled with ice tea. I walked to the bar and pointed out that the glass was used. Unfortunately, no apology or anything was given; I was given a clean glass. Halfway through, we wanted to order something else, but the staff didn't even look in our direction, so I walked back over and indicated we wanted another drink. The staff wasn't friendly, which we weren't used to. This was the last time we'll eat at Boekmans for a while. The staff could be more customer-friendly and make the guests feel welcome!

Nice, pleasant location, good atmosphere, and good service. Excellent, tasty, affordable food. I've been to Boekmans several times and enjoyed the menus. The satay would be absolutely fantastic if the satay sauce were homemade and not the standard "factory" satay sauce. Currently, serving the satay sauce separately in a bowl would be a huge improvement.

Well, I've been going there for years. They've had a rough patch, but I've always come back for lunch.

Nice place, "book" theme. Had a delicious lunch. Sandwiches with hummus and grilled vegetables. Generously filled and delicious.

We were there for the salsa. Great atmosphere, good food, good music, but the dance floor outside is concrete with holes. Spinning is out of the question, and stepping on poop is also dangerous.

Very lovely restaurant with very nice and welcoming staff and good food. Atmosphere is also very nice both indoors and outdoors. Their olives are the best I have had.

...Usual high standards seem to be slipping, always had a good experience at Boekmans until now. Very slow service nearly 3 hours to get 2 courses..!...quality of food seems also to be slipping...steak sauce very bland , ribs dry and salty..poor quality for the price...seemed under staffed even though it was no where near full...we will certainly not be back at Boekmans for a while..pity..

Excellent food and hospitable service.

After a wonderfully adventurous outing, my wife and I went here for dinner. We could easily park the car in front of the door (or a bit further away). The starter – pork belly – was really fantastic, which made my expectations high for the main course. The spare ribs were just fine, but couldn’t quite match the starter. The dessert, pavlova, was delicious! A surprise anyway, because I didn’t even know what pavlova was, haha. The atmosphere is warm, homely and very pleasant. For me, it was a big plus that there was no music, so you could quietly enjoy the commotion of other guests. I could have sat here for a few hours. The only minor downside I found was the TV screens with advertisements for their activities. They were in my field of vision and sometimes distracted a bit. All in all, a great experience and definitely recommended!

Good food. It was quite busy so we sometimes had to wait a little longer for service. Staff is very correct.

Stayed nearby on vacation, eat here each evening after touring Dordrecht. Wonderful staff, helpful and friendly, made a stranger welcome. Food was a delight each evening.

Very nice, but I got a big allergy from the satay, I think the peanut sauce, or other nuts were used, I would have liked to know, it was almost.... but otherwise nice, nice atmosphere and nice girls.

Before we started the NS walk "Island of Dordrecht" we started with delicious coffee at Restaurant Boekmans on the Dudokplein in Dordrecht. We were given a glass of water and a glass of whipped cream and liqueur. So really a cup of coffee with attention. The restaurant was full of old books. We are readers, so with all those books around us, a nice atmosphere.

The food is of an average price, but very tasty. Reservations are recommended, because it is almost always full.

15-01-2025 Went for dinner with a group of 9 people. (4x satay pot and 5x the burger) The food arrived.. 4x spareribs and 5x the burger, that can of course happen, but then you expect that everything will be done to ensure that the satay arrives quickly. 45 minutes later and having seen a satay pot pass by 4 times that went to other tables, it finally arrived. Of course, the rest of the group had already finished eating. When we received the satay 45 minutes later, we also asked if we could get fries with it. This is part of justice. The beans that came with it were almost soup and the meat was not tender, almost tough. We would get a drink on the house for the long wait. After we received the bill from a waitress who was already wearing her coat, the bill turned out to be (I would almost say of course) incorrect. There were 6 drinks on the house instead of 9. After we said something about this, the response was "You have 6 drinks for free and 2 fries." It's a pity that we have such an experience at Boekmans, because normally it is just reasonable food. So you see, staff is extremely important in your business.

Great atmosphere, service is gallant, it was very busy. But we ate well, all the meat was nice and tender.

Had a nice evening despite the absent-minded waiter... he always solved his mistakes with charm and correctly. But hopefully he doesn't have an evening like this often because as a guest you have to wait 20 minutes longer for your food while your table companion has already finished eating is not the intention. But my dish was kept from the receipt. I have confidence in it for next time.

Würden sehr freundlich vom Personal empfangen. Das Ambiente war warm en komfortabel sehr angenehm. Bestellte einen Fischspieß mit 4 verschiedenen Sorten. Und eine halbe Stunde lag dann unser Fischspieß vor uns. Ich nahm ein Stück und ja er war kalt Grauenhaft einen kalten Fisch im Mund zu haben. Oke, den Service gerufen und die Teller wurden mitgenommen Richtung Kuche wenn man dass Kuche nennen darf. Aber gut nach 20 Minuten hatte der Koch einen neuen Teller mit neuen Spiess spezial für uns neu gemacht. Und ja ihr ratet es wahrscheinlich schon " lauwarm" und nicht " durchgebacken. Dieses Restaurant darf sich nicht so nennen. Absolut" kein " Anrater und am besten meiden

Were received very friendly by the staff. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, very pleasant. Ordered a fish skewer with 4 different types. And our fish skewer lay in front of us for half an hour. I took a piece and yes it was cold. Horrible to have a cold fish in your mouth. Ok, the service was called and the plates were taken towards the kitchen, if you can call that kitchen. But after about 20 minutes the chef had prepared a new plate with new skewers specially for us. And yes, you're probably guessing it's "lukewarm" and not "well-baked." This restaurant can't call itself that. Absolutely no advice and best avoided.

Worthless tent! We waited almost an hour for our food and the fries were simply put on a plate/bowl. (not everyone has their own plate as it should be). Ridiculous! Furthermore, it is a boring location and the books, which make it look like a library, do not really create any atmosphere inside. In addition, the meat barely had any taste and the service did not come to you automatically. You really didn't have to imitate the air raid siren before someone finally showed up.

I was cycling the LF Maasroute and was staying overnight in a B&B in the suburbs of Dordrecht. Although this restaurant was quite a walk from my accommodation, it was well worth the effort. I hadn't booked, but a table was found for me immediately. The food choice is good and service was very friendly and helpful although I don't speak Dutch. I can recommend.

Always perfectly pleasant staff Top food

Today we spent the afternoon at Boekmans with a group of about 20 people. I know that there are staff shortages in the catering industry, but the fact that the staff hardly provided any form of service is of course dramatic. Then you shouldn't hire such a group. The table was hardly cleared. Crockery was left out all afternoon and orders were sometimes only delivered after several requests. No, no more Boekmans for me for a while.

Took a very long time for food to arrive and no steak knife for the steak. We asked about it. They were forgotten and did not come

Waited an hour for the food, ordered for 4 people. We got fries in 1 container which is an absolute no-go. Fries were limp, meat was fine. Never again for me.

Recently had a drink here in the evening, two hours before closing time. The owner looked us out the door as soon as we entered.

Have a nice drink with something tasty. A very tasty piece of cake but very sweet hahaha. It is a luxury to get a small glass of water and (I think) amaretto with whipped cream with your cappuccino.

Food was fine, good price-quality ratio, sat outside, a bit of an error in the service, 4 dishes for 5 people and therefore 1 was forgotten, eventually solved by an experienced employee who solved the mistake by a young employee. Definitely worth going back again

Haven't been for a long time, but a great reacquaintance. The way they present coffee and pastries here is especially great. You notice that the staff has worked together for a long time because they are wonderfully professional.

Went to Boekmans again. I've been coming here for years, good food, nice atmosphere, generally friendly staff. I have only found the waiter who walks around there quite often to be quite surly and not friendly at all in recent years. It seems like everything is too much for him. Almost a reason not to come anymore when he's working.
