Restaurant Down Town Dordrecht in Wijk 02 Noordflank

This afternoon, four of us had a delicious meal at Down Town. We made a reservation, but it turned out we didn't need one. There weren't many guests today, even though it was a Saturday. The view over the river is truly magnificent, and the price-quality ratio is excellent, in my opinion.

The food is usually delicious, but last time I had the chicken satay, and I personally didn't like the satay sauce at all. I thought it was too dark and the flavor was so strong that the chicken itself was barely noticeable. According to the staff, I was the first person to dislike it. Tastes differ, and I prefer to be honest about it. The dessert with white chocolate, cheesecake, and ice cream, you can't taste the white chocolate at all (we ordered the dessert twice). We've been there several times now, and we found this a bit of a shame. We did recommend something, and hopefully, they'll do something with it. Furthermore, the staff is friendly, it's clean, and they've made an effort to decorate the restaurant beautifully for the holidays. This created a warm atmosphere. There's ample parking, and you have a beautiful view of the water.

We enjoyed a delicious Christmas menu and beautifully selected wines with Mario and his crew. Even though the place was packed, we received fantastic service and attentive service. Fantastic!

A grumpy "host" who clearly didn't want to serve me lunch. I was ignored; I wasn't even greeted, and he apparently found his phone more interesting.

Downtown, well, what can I say? A friend invited me there for high tea. It was simply good and delicious. Funny that the tea glasses weren't there yet, and a tray arrived a bit later, but it was there. The toilet, uhmm, well, a round, unpleasant staircase down that looks quite dark. The toilets aren't really clean; they smell old and musty. The tiles didn't feel clean. Well, one smack from me, and you'll quickly get the hang of cleaning here. There was a yellowed notice in the toilet about something I can't remember now, but in short, that could use more attention. The staff? Nothing to complain about, a friendly man who really went out of his way to please the customers.

Great location, but the food, service, and decor are just average. They asked us after two minutes if we'd made a choice yet. There are just too many tables inside, making it cramped. I've been there before, but the food hasn't gotten any better. Not bad, but not great.

For those with allergies, just go somewhere else. Neither the staff nor the chef knows what's in their products. Soy is confused with gluten, and vegan with vegetarian. There's also no allergen list.

Beautiful spot in Dordrecht. The terrace is lovely. We had a delicious meal there, and the service was good, prompt, and attentive.

We always loved coming here. But it's happened to us several times that when we arrive in the evening, they immediately tell us we're closing, even though the website says they're open until 10 p.m. Too bad.

Why do you announce the last round 1.5 hours in advance? We're closing so soon. While the website says 10:00 PM, and you're already saying we're closing so soon. That's a shame. You should have given a different closing time on the website. Customers would have more interest. And they won't be back so quickly. So, I'm giving you a 5.

On September 11th, we had a fantastic farewell party at Down Town Dordrecht. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff and service... perfect!

What a wonderful meal we had here! Vegan on the menu! What a relief! And incredibly tasty! Vegan satay, vegan dessert. Delicious fries (also not unimportant :)) And also a delicious cappuccino with oat milk afterwards! We almost missed the water taxi ;) They were actually full, but 'if we ordered right away, it would still work out'. Friendly staff. What a difference with a number of restaurants in the area, who have not even heard of vegetarian. Highly recommended! If we are ever in Dordrecht again, we will definitely eat here again! I've been here a few times, and the food is always delicious. The last weekend we were there the terrace was quite busy. Service was overall prompt and good, but some servers looked a bit lost at times. Still, it probably won't be my last visit here.

Delicious food. Very friendly staff. Maybe a little too friendly. The gentleman started stroking my wife's back and calling us pet names. He had been drinking a little so we just laughed about it to keep the mood down, but oh well. Next time just sir, madam, keep your hands to yourself and maybe only start drinking after closing time. You probably didn't mean it the wrong way.

Walked in for a dinner. The place was not crowded. Nice ambiance, and nice view (well, could not see much because it was dark. But would be a great place to have a drink or a meal in the summer.) Food was OK. The Avocado burger had some pieces which tasted sour (old avacado, probably going bad super soon). The staff were super courtious, The senior staff / owner even came all the way from the service counter and opened the door for us when we were leaving. (Thank you sir.) Ate here with the family. Beautiful setting, small but atmospheric. All in all, it took quite a while for the food to arrive from the time of ordering (about an hour). Understood that this was due to the crowds. The owner offered free drinks which we did not take advantage of because it was getting very late with the kids. Food tasted fine but had cooled down. Now we are not the most difficult so we just ate it. Later we understood that we should have reported it, but anyway, the thought of waiting extra was not attractive with two kids. It should be noted that the owner responded nicely to the situation surrounding waiting for the kids. We gave it a nice twist with the dessert, which made them happy again. I thought the costs were quite high for a brasserie, so the chance that we will come back for dinner as a family is not high. However, we will definitely stop by again for a cup of coffee or a snack.

Cozy atmosphere, nice location. In my opinion, the high chairs just cannot be pushed far enough against the table. Good service, they are nice. The food was quite tasty. A few small points that were disappointing for us. The Gambas here were really delicious, highly recommended!

Just enjoyed Christmas brunch. Well cared for, nice staff and a hospitable owner. Nothing to complain about the quality... lots of choice and a nice dessert of various delicacies. Recommended!

If you come for a nice bite to eat, you are not in the right place here. The food was not quite warm and the bread was tough. But even more annoying was that it was thrown on the table. Putting bottles in crates didn't exactly enhance the atmosphere either. Very unfortunate, the view is nice.

Still one of the most beautiful places in Dordrecht. Beautiful view of the Three Rivers Point and relaxed service. We ate a delicious menu with sea bass.

What a great evening Pleasant service (listens carefully to your wishes) Food was really top level. Also attention for a 6 year old child who they made very happy with frikandels (were not on the menu) and his own dessert 🍨 made in the kitchen. Highly recommended!!!! Small and cozy place, the food was delicious and the service was good.

Went last weekend. Slow cooked short ribs. Should be tender meat. This was a lot of fatty and tough meat. So not nice. The staff was all very young and did not know the difference between gluten and lactose. Which makes it very difficult if there is someone with a food allergy. So not the best turn. Hope that was an incident.

Nice location and friendly service. Had high tea here. Nice that ginger and mint were also possible! It started with a delicious fresh soup. The sandwiches were starting to deteriorate a bit. A brie sandwich was just that: bare bun and 2 slices of brie. No butter, spread, lettuce or nuts. All sweets are nice to see, but taken straight from the freezer (some are even still a bit cold inside) and artificial flavors. Fine, but wouldn't go again for high tea.

Nice location, service is very customer-oriented, we come here several times a year for, among other things, a high wine - the food is fantastic, the wine selection is very wide & tasty, we will happily come back more often and would recommend it to more people. You have a nice view of the water, there is a nice space inside and they have a nice outside area with heaters, etc. The owner is person-oriented and pleasant. Absolutely recommended!

Bad food, and bad service. We got the wrong order, and the hamburgers were bad; I can easily make a better one myself

Brasserie Down Town is a great opportunity for lunch. The host is friendly and quick to serve. There is a nice menu with a wide choice of delicious starters, hot dishes, sandwiches, burgers and much more. A great wide terrace with a view of the river and a sun-drenched day makes it complete. You will go here again for fun.

Disgusting service. Disgusting food. We waited 45 minutes for food. The waitress forgot to bring cola. The third time she managed to bring us cola. The meat was brought raw and the waitress saw it. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Now I will wait another 30 minutes for my chicken to be fried.

Nice place, staff is also friendly, but they didn't pay much attention to the customer who wanted to order something. After coffee we just paid and went elsewhere for something to eat. The business is fun and the coffee is delicious.

Nice location, food could be better in terms of taste, but that is also your own taste of course, plenty of choice.

Food was fine, just a pity that the starter and main course were served at the same time. Management could still use some training.

Ate here with a group of 8 people. There were a number of negatives: - We were asked if we wanted the starters (bread) at the same time as the main course; we didn't want that. After 10 minutes the main courses finally arrived. Most of the main courses were cold; fries, vegetables and for some also the meat. - The bill was incorrect; the tap water ordered was calculated as spring water and there were too many desserts on the receipt. - The restaurant is partly covered by a roof. Three sides are closed, from the restaurant side and the water just enters the wind. There is heating, but this was not sufficient and was already turned off when two people were still eating. When we indicated that it was cold, we were told that it was already off... Furthermore, something went wrong with an ordered dish (wrong sauce, allergy), but this was resolved immediately. This meat and vegetables were warm. Portions are good, but because it was cold it didn't taste good. Next time we will eat somewhere else.

How sad, we order tea and a beer, have to pay more than 12 euros immediately, then the drinks arrive where the tea has more water next to the cup than in it. A dripping wet napkin keeps everything in place. Quick walk through here.

We went here for a drink on the terrace. Location is really beautiful along the water, but service is poor. We had to ask ourselves if we could order something and saw others doing the same while the service was sweeping the street.

Super sweet service. I ordered a burger and got something I didn't expect. Without difficulty he took it back and made something else. Good tent! Highly recommended!
