Grand Café Roos eten & drinken in Boskoop

Excellent location on my cycling route. Friendly service with the right attitude. Compliments. I ordered a fried egg with aged cheese and bacon. The cheese was tasty, but not aged 😔. Beautiful terrace with a view of the flower garden.

Although the website stated the restaurant was open, upon entering we were informed that dining was not possible due to a staff shortage. We were sent away with a big grin on our faces. We were regular customers, but this was a one-time thing, never again.

Cozy restaurant, friendly service, great food. We were seated behind a high wall. As a guest, you are out of sight of the staff then.

Lunch platter for 20 euros per person is way too expensive. We got a skewer with bread and 3 mini bowls with contents, but you had to share it; impossible!!

Atmospheric restaurant in a beautiful pre-war building. Neat and clean. Service correct. Cons: we had to wait a very long time for our lunch. Even after repeatedly asking where the food was. Price / quality: 18 euros for a light lunch. Croquette sandwich and Carpaccio with a cup of soup; I find that pricey.

I didn't think it was great, unfortunately; maybe it's because of the charcuterie board, which was excellent.

Cozy place, the staff is so friendly. You don't have to wait long either, and they keep a close eye on things. When your cup or glass is empty, they come and ask if you want anything else. I had lunch with a girlfriend; we had fish for 12 o'clock, delicious. Afterwards, I sat on the outdoor terrace with my husband for a bit; he had the bar snacks, all fish, top notch, highly recommended, really something different from just plain bar snacks. Also lots of good beers on tap, great. Tip! It would be good to put up some screens on the terrace; the wind is very cold, people often shifted seats to escape the wind. Otherwise, top notch, we will definitely be back.

We called to ask if it was possible to come for dinner; this was only possible if you chose the Easter menu. There was no option to order from the à la carte menu except for children. Subsequently, we arrived and the staff indicated whether we were there for the Easter menu. After we sat down at the table, we heard from the waitress behind us that there was also an option to order from the à la carte menu. Had we known this, we would have preferred to do so. After pointing this out to the staff member, she indicated that this was absolutely not the case and asked who had spread this idea. We could no longer order from the à la carte menu, so we opted for the Easter menu after all. The starter was supposed to be a focaccia with some toppings; it was quite disappointing because there was simply very little of it, and it wasn't focaccia at all, but rather a piece of cracker bread. The main course consisted of various types of meat; the meat was quite dry, and there was no sauce, gravy, or anything else with it. The fries that came with it were also very few. The staff member asked if we wanted dessert; we indicated that it is simply included, right? We were told that everything could be ordered separately.. The dessert was a mini glass with raspberry mousse and a Janssen ice cream bonbon.. it was okay but didn't put on much of a show for the price you paid. All in all.. it was a real shame and if we had known this earlier we would have just ordered from the menu.. So we are very disappointed..

Delicious Easter lunch Lovely service

I ate pulled chicken salad today, but there was no pulled chicken to be found in the salad. There were some slices of chicken breast, and when I asked about it, the waitress said the pulled chicken was supposed to be in the middle. However, there was just some sort of mush there in which I couldn't detect any pulled chicken. It's peculiar to offer it under that label... I won't be going there again... My husband's carpaccio sandwich was tasty, though.

The location is beautiful and easily accessible. Service is friendly. Food is mediocre. A carrot and asparagus were served with the salmon. Both were hard and more for decoration. Not worth the price of 23 euros. The fries were very soggy and greasy. The goat cheese in a spring roll wrapper was tasty, but served awkwardly.

We had a bad experience here. We arrived for high tea for 14 people, and the table wasn't even set yet. While we were sitting at the table, they were setting it. The spoons were dirty, and we didn't have any plates on the table when the food arrived. The service wasn't proactive. They didn't take the initiative to serve us, so we had to walk to the bar ourselves to order. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. But we'll never come back!

Great food, only a huge disappointment in the ladies' restroom, unpleasant sewer smell, no toilet paper, after reporting it to staff there was no time to refill, poor drainage/blockage, toilet could use an overhaul

Went there over Christmas. It was delicious. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Highly recommended. Oh, and the excellent soundproofing in the ceiling, which always makes me very happy. The only thing I thought was that the tables could be a bit further apart.

I had lunch here recently. It was very busy, although it didn't take too long. I'd love to try it again when they're not so busy.

I wouldn't recommend this place. The food is expensive and terrible. The bites are truly expensive. If you order a wrap as a bite, you get three pieces. Bite... a toasted sandwich... €9.50 for half a toasted sandwich. The bites are impossible to share. There were four of us, and almost everything was three pieces. The snack platter is absolutely ridiculous. Everything is deep-fried. A whole bread roll...and we'd already ordered that as a starter. There was also a spring roll filled with nothing, a bitterbal (a type of meatball) that was absolutely disgusting. A cube of cheese and a chicken nugget. You pay €40 for that. In short... a place you'll never go back to. They have a lot to learn or change the name to "restaurant patat" (fries restaurant)!

We had a lovely and cozy high tea: highly recommended! It can get quite noisy in the room when it's busy, so if you're a bit older (read: hard of hearing), it might be difficult to hear each other. But the snacks were delicious and there were tons of teas to choose from!

This establishment is simply magnificent, super terrace also outside with a view of the Rosarium. 12 hours of meat highly recommended

Delicious food, friendly people, comfortable chairs. We had a lovely afternoon.

Overall, it was fine. Service was quick and accurate. Food, one criticism was the beef carpaccio. It was piled too thickly, which made it unpleasant to eat. And for desserts, you had a choice of five. And if you're not a chocolate lover and have a strawberry allergy, you're left with two options: a cheese board or a passion fruit trio. We both thought we'd get the trio. So, we ordered. The waitress returned. "Sorry, we don't have any cheesecake in the house?" Huh, what then? On a Saturday. So, we skipped coffee and dessert. That's a bit of a letdown if you're looking forward to going somewhere. This is a personal review, so take it as you will.

Roos is located in the beautiful Flora Building with a view of the magnificent rose garden, which is already a solid 10! Lunch was a bit disappointing; they were out of oranges, so they only managed to squeeze a very small juice instead of a large one. The order was taken and served completely incorrectly, and we had to wait for the correct lunch. The staff apologized and offered free coffee, which was very polite. The outside door was open, so there was a terrible draft at our table. The club sandwich was decent, but very coarse with half an uncut chicken breast on it. The fries were more like fried potatoes: very thin, so we could hardly taste any potato. The service was very friendly, though.

Had a delicious lunch today at Grand Café Roos. You can sit comfortably both inside and outside. Outside, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the rose garden. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a lovely, cozy lunch spot. There's a wide selection of both food and drinks. The price-quality ratio is excellent. I'm sure I'll be back again.

Had lunch; the mackerel duo with sourdough bread tasted great. Friendly service. They initially forgot the extra drinks I ordered later, but they realized it themselves and it was taken care of immediately.

Leuke plek op terras met uitzicht op het rosarium. De stoelen op het terras zaten niet lekker. Bediening werkt inefficiënt. Loopt heen en weer, kunnen tafels niet uit elkaar houden. Eten was goed van smaak, en genoeg. Behalve de Japanse pannekoek, dat waren 2 kleine thaise viskoekjes leek het wel.

Roos is a cozy place to eat. Quite busy on Sunday evening. Quietly at the table with a tear roll to start. The service is very friendly. The service is with 3 and is very busy. We have to wait a while. Not a problem in itself. The satay is fine. The sweet potato fries nice and crispy.

Lunch was delicious. Chicken club sandwich. Salmon is preferred, but is not (anymore) on the menu. We are also surprised that dogs are allowed in the restaurant. We love animals, but think they do not belong in a restaurant. Even though they are sweet, they sometimes shake themselves (right next to your table..) or bark and jump when another dog comes in.

Had a lovely lunch here on the terrace. The separate gluten and lactose free menu is versatile and perfect for making a choice without asking. Fast and friendly service. In other words, a place we go to more often.

Delicious food, wines were top notch. It was a busy evening, service is also very good and fast. All tables occupied. Unfortunately for us, they put the 2-person tables too close together. There are 5 tables in a row, so you can't talk privately without whispering. 1 table less will make a difference to your experience.

Whenever we are in Boskoop, this is our regular place for coffee or lunch. The atmosphere is always pleasant and the location, so close to the station, is ideal. In the summer you can enjoy the terrace with a view of the beautiful Rosarium. A wonderful place to relax for a while. Definitely recommended!

We waren met 13 personen.Eten was goed, maar de glutenvrije Tonijn trio salade 17€ was zeker vergeleken met de andere salades (zalmsalade lunch 18€) erg erg karig. Een doorgesneden glutenvrij broodje en wat tonijnsalade met beetje groen, paar doorgesneden tomaatjes, olijfjes. Trio ? wat hoe waar trio ??? Je kon goed met elkaar praten, maar toen kwam er live muziek met versterker, jawel versterker in een klein restaurant. Je kon elkaar meteen niet meer verstaan. Dus geen koffie meer maar snel weggegaan.

What a nice romantic place, near a beautiful rosarium. Nice girls in the service. Sometimes a little thing goes wrong, but what a nice place. Apparently fun performances are also organised.

Just no help at all, we waited for over half an hour and almost 45 minutes while the place was almost empty. We left without having anything to drink or eat. simply disappointing.

Besteld een zalmbombe met hollandse garnalen, we kregen roze rivierkreeftjes, na twee opmerkingen hierover (eerste werd compleet genegeerd) kregen we te horen dat het echt wel garnalen waren, wat een disrespect en dat voor een kostbaar voorgerecht. Saus bij de perfect gebakken zwaardvis veel te zout, echt een aanslag op je nieren, ook hier werd niets mee gedaan

A really great restaurent in a small town near the railway station. Staff so friendly and helpful. They even loaned me an umbrella for the Dutch rain! Food was superb and plenty of it! I visit Boskoop 3 timrs a year and always eat here. Finlay F Colley

Wonderful restaurant with a beautiful terrace near a large rose garden. The kids can run around here while mom and dad enjoy the terrace. Delicious dishes of good quality. Nice menu with the standard dishes but also many surprising options. We will definitely come back when we are in the area again!

De prijs-kwaliteit verhouding is niet passend. Het eten is goed, maar de prijs echt te hoog. Ook de kwaliteit van de serveersters past hier niet bij. Jammer, maar het blijft voor ons bij 1x.

Had dinner here on May 28 with 6 people. Cycled past this opportunity a number of times on my racing bike and was particularly attracted by the beautiful large garden. My hope was that by the end of May the weather would be good enough to eat outside. Unfortunately, nothing turned out to be further from the truth. Eating inside was certainly not a punishment. Great table, plenty of space. Very helpful, nice varied menu. Had a shared starter beforehand, which was really delicious. Main courses were rack of lamb, satay, tenderloin, and children's menu. Everything tasted great. There was enough time between starters and main courses, so that the food could sink slightly. After the main course there were 3 more children who had room for dessert. Skipped it myself and opted for cappucino. 1 dessert chosen was the toasted croissant. Very original, something I have never encountered on a card before. All 3 were enthusiastic about the dessert. As far as I am concerned, this restaurant is definitely recommended to go to. The price/quality ratio is good with excellent service.

Yesterday, my three sons and I had lunch with you, it was super busy and we had a nice waitress who came twice to say that it would take a little longer because of a large group, which was no problem for us, and it was nice because we got 4 drinks. for your account, the food was super tasty and nice staff and good chefs in the kitchen, and by the way we often come to you with our children and grandchildren and that is always good and we always get our food right away, with 17 people. Beautiful buffet for friends' 50th wedding anniversary. Very well cared for and lots of choice (also vegetarian, etc.)

High tea with my daughter and her friend's mother. Super busy in the restaurant but we didn't notice much. 3 ladies to more than 2 hours of chatting and finally a good meal back home. It was fun...delicious and cozy. Thank you Roos Boskoop....for a nice afternoon.
