Grand Café the Factory in Dalfsen

I understand about meat and ordered medium rare black angus for 32 Euro. Instead I got to tiny skinny peaces of fatless well-done overheated meat, served with only 3 beans on a spoon of puree. After I tried to proof that it was not Angus because of the taste and lack of any fat she waitress told me sorry, we cleaned the fat, only proving more they don't understand about Angus meat. Have you tried to clean the fat from Salami, that is equally impossible. And the tomato soup with parmesan had only 2 gram of tastless parmesan cheese, only a few slithers for decoration. I was told sorry and that was all the compensation I received. Warning for disabled persons: the toilets are upstairs without an elevator. Be warned, they serve Angus that isn't really angus and the potion is miniscule.

Had a delicious meal, beautiful view. Young team, full of energy. Worth repeating.

We arrived here Wednesday evening, a quarter to 10, last round, they close at 10:30. Well, fine. Ordered 8 tequilas and 4 beers, we got the tequila without lime and the bill immediately. Final score: 10 past 10. Get out of here, and the service was terrible.

Nice ambiance, but they can't handle the crowds. Had to wait an hour and a half for food, and the staff became unfriendly when we expressed our dissatisfaction.

First time last Thursday, and on the recommendation of a neighbor from Dedemsvaart, we had lunch first: salmon flamluchen (deliciously crispy and lots of salmon), pulled chicken tacos (super filling and great flavor), and pulled chicken fries (good portion and yoooooo much chicken!). Friendly service, fast service, beautiful and cozy location, typical Dutch glory 👌 Definitely coming back for dinner, and they have Leffe 0.0% beer, personally my big favorite‼️

Today, Dinie and I were enjoying a lovely walk through Dalfsen. As we walked along the quay, we saw that we could sign up for a boat trip on the Somp on the Vecht. That sounded like fun, so we did it right away. 😊⛵ Before boarding, we sat down at Grand Café De Fabriek. I had a delicious salmon sandwich and Dinie chose a tasty carpaccio salad. 😋 Around half past two / quarter to three, we had a delicious meal and could head straight to the boat. After that, we enjoyed a wonderful two-hour cruise on the Vecht. Nice and quiet on the water, enjoying the surroundings and the beautiful view. 🛥️☀️ After the boat trip, it was time to head back home. A lovely afternoon in Dalfsen and a beautiful conclusion to our days away together. ❤️

The weather makes the atmosphere.....to a large extent

After a lovely bike ride, we arrived in Dalfsen. There was a spot outside on the terrace with a beautiful view of the Vecht. Grand Café de Fabriek is such a nice, clean, and cozy restaurant. The staff is very friendly and hospitable. We were allowed to charge our bike batteries without any problems. (When we left, I naturally made a small contribution for this, even though the owner really didn't require it). We had a delicious meal and a relaxing afternoon. Feeling well-fed, we were ready to set off again to cycle on. We definitely plan to come back here!

Good food in a nice spot. The staff could use a bit more experience, but they're friendly and neat.

Nice location, but we were invisible on the terrace. We had to go inside to place our order ourselves, which we did after waiting for about fifteen minutes. 1 employee who had to do everything – ‘a colleague overslept’ – and we waited quite a long time after ordering. A shame. The ridiculously expensive Swollenaertje with the cappuccino doesn't make the outcome any better.

Just had a drink on the spacious outdoor terrace, almost by the water. Friendly staff. Toilets upstairs are accessible via stairs. Unknown if there is a disabled toilet downstairs.

I find the value for money disappointing. And there was a waiter walking around in shorts that looked like swimming trunks. Next time, just wear smart long trousers like all your other colleagues.

As residents of Ommen, we also enjoy eating out outside of Ommen once in a while. We weren't familiar with De Fabriek yet, but it is a beautiful spot and a beautiful restaurant. Good food, friendly service. Nothing wrong with it, but for a 15 euro starter and a main course of 30 euros (or more), the portion is a bit on the small side. The side dishes are also tasty, but very stingy. You don't have to stuff yourself, but this was a bit too meager. But certainly worth a repeat visit. A tip for the owner: place the drinks menu on the table; then the question of what you want to drink is quicker for the customer to answer.

Positives: pretty location, nice decor. Negatives: food wasn't as advertised and when mentioned the waiters become argumentative: "what do you care about such and such", "come on, is it really a big deal?", "I just bring the food, don't complain to me". An apology would've been sufficient. Other staff outright rude, shouting through our conversation with an angry tone of voice. Not customer-focused at all and made the dining experience uncomfortable, regrettably. A shame. Heard really good things from others about De Fabriek, so it is plausible that this was an one-off experience. Anyhow, don't think I will be coming again. Eating somewhere where you are treated as an unwelcome guest - no thank you.

Pleasant atmosphere. A bit like a beach house. Prompt service. It's nice that you aren't constantly asked if you want to order anything else. There is peace and quiet to have a nice chat.

We had made a reservation here! There were 8 of us; 7 of us received our food almost simultaneously, while 1 person had to wait a bit...! Most of us received lukewarm or cold food, lukewarm potatoes, and cold fries. We did pay the 'full' price, though.

The name says it all: "de fabriek" is a food factory. Very busy, long waiting times, and mediocre food quality. The staff did their best, but our reserved table was already given to someone else.

Very nice place to spend some time on the terrace. Everything was fine, except the whipped cream with the apple pie was from a squeeze bottle. (It collapsed immediately and turned milky!!) Not really fitting for such a nice terrace.

We were seated in a draft. There were still free seats during our meal, but these were reserved (much too early) and were not available even after inquiring. The food itself was very good; everything was served nice and hot at the same time. Good gluten-free alternatives. We had a delicious meal for a very good price.

The pasta pictured in the photo, which is usually prepared at the table in a large Parmesan cheese bowl with brandy or grappa (pasta alla ruota), was not available. The cheese was "leaky," and it was supposed to be prepared in the kitchen. We thought that was a shame; the pasta was bland and the tomato was overpowering. We missed the flavor of both the cheese and the grappa. Nope, they "didn't eat cheese" with this pasta. We'll all be back for another dish. The service is friendly, and the seating is great!

A cozy and spacious restaurant decorated in a retro-modern style. Excellent service. The food was delicious, but... the entrecote was served lukewarm and had a lot of fat and other inedible bits on it that should have been trimmed off. Overall, not bad, but there's room for improvement.

We had a wonderful meal for two. A nice spot by the window. The food was served quickly, and the appetizer, main course, and dessert were delicious! The service was good. The acoustics are a bit noisy, making it a bit noisy for quiet conversation. Otherwise, it was well-maintained.

Last night we sat at the De Stoomfabriek restaurant after watching the wonderful documentary "80 Years of Freedom in Dalfsen" by Pien van Huet. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, exceptionally friendly staff, and a delicious cheese and sausage platter. It was fantastic. Thank you, De Stoomfabriek!

I had a delicious salmon sandwich here today with a cup of coffee. The sandwich was super fresh, perfectly topped with fresh salmon and vegetables. The service was friendly and fast.

This industrial-style restaurant is beautifully situated in a former factory, with a riverside terrace. It's truly fantastic! They also occasionally host live performances.

Beautiful building and stunning views. We weren't entirely impressed with the food, but it wasn't "bad." I did think, however, that the wine poured in the glass was too small for the price (1/5 of the glass). Otherwise, the service and atmosphere were excellent.

We had lunch here this afternoon, and there was only one major problem: we'll have to come back many times to try everything on the menu :) The bread is wonderfully soft and fresh, and the portions are generous. The staff are exceptionally friendly, and both the terrace and the restaurant interior look inviting. Highly recommended.

Great place! Beautiful location on the Vecht River in charming Dalfsen. The cappuccino is excellent – a nice balance between strong coffee and smooth milk. A delicious fresh cookie to go with it. And I always ask for a cup of whipped cream; that's a treat! Lunch was excellent, the service was quick and the staff were friendly – we come here often, but not too often. My favorite spot during a holiday in Ommen.

A lovely terrace for some tables overlooking the Vecht River. The service was good, although I wasn't asked if I liked it or had enjoyed it, but the answer was positive. I was also pleasantly surprised by the local beer on the beer menu.

Nice place and great staff. We go there quite often. Relatively low-salt options are available.

Not what we expected. Really high prices for what you get. There was only 1 bowl of salad and 1 cone of fries with 4 main courses (all adults) That is really too little! When it was served, I immediately ordered another portion of fries, but that only comes when you have actually finished your plate. The beef bavette (33) is served in 2 pieces (?) with 1 spoon of mashed potatoes and 3 uncooked haricots verts. The veal rib-eye (30) had that too. The red port jus was only dripped over a little. The salmon (30) was on some risotto and here too a few pieces of vegetables. With the few fries per person and 1 spoon of salad, this is really below par. We skipped dessert. Inside, the music was also a bit too loud and air conditioning water dripped just on the edge of the table. Outside, you can sit comfortably by the water. Service is friendly.

Sufficient and friendly service, did not have to wait long, quality and price of the food is fine. No haute cuisine but fine dishes and sufficient choice. Can't add much more. Unfortunately a disappointing experience. Table setting not in order, no cutlery and napkins, waitress did not know what she was serving. Almost raw meat with tendons. Waiting times too long. We wish you strength with an approach that may lead to a better result.

For a surprise menu, indeed a surprise, well-filled plates of great quality, definitely something to go to again when we are in the area.

The restaurant in our hotel Mooirivier was already fully booked; but we got the tip about De Fabriek. Fortunately, they still had a table available on this King's Day! We ate delicious asparagus with delicious oysters and a glass of bubbles. Extremely friendly staff and a delicious warm sandwich with oil and salt beforehand. We will definitely come back again. Thanks for the beautiful evening.

Food was tasty and the atmosphere was cozy. Had a delicious meal with our partner. Difference in staff, one is more experienced and 'smoother' and more concrete than the other, but that is an observation, not a negative for the business. Food was good and tasty, for an okay price today.

Beautiful Grand Café in the old Cichorei factory. Nice and atmospheric interior. Located on the water and you can sit on the terrace. They serve a real latte macchiato here. We didn't eat there, so I can't say anything about that. An asset to Dalfen.

Delicious bread in advance, on-site service. Pizza was not very richly topped, but tasty. Had a delicious dessert with amarene cherry and pistachio ice cream, superb. Drank a nice sweet white wine.

Very nice terrace with a view of the water. Lunch was also very tasty and the coffee was of good quality! I think a major disadvantage (for non-smokers) is that smoking is allowed on the terrace. Really out of date these days.

Good and sincere atmosphere and ambiance, skilled Chef, smart and well-cooked in a very professional manner! Also had a nice conversation with a young man from the service, he is clearly enjoying himself here…. Thank you for the fast Discreet Service and above all the feeling of being more than a Guest! The food was very tasty and the service was good. A few negatives: our table was right at the bottom of a busy staircase leading to the first floor. Constantly a lot of walking. The table next to us was occupied by "working people". 4 men in their work clothes with their company jackets hung over the chairs. We thought that was not appropriate for an evening out for which you have to pay a considerable amount.

Something for everyone: food, drinks, theatre, going out

Nice restaurant/cafe to have a bite to eat. Unfortunately, all three pizzas were burnt on the bottom.
