Had high tea today. 1 word: amazing.

This wasn't our first time here, and we have actually always gone home satisfied and well "filled." That's why we knew immediately that this was the perfect choice to celebrate my husband's birthday. Friendly and always smiling service, delicious dishes, and a nice atmosphere. Everything is well taken care of and of a high standard, but without feeling stiff or formal. As always, we enjoyed ourselves. Definitely a place we will gladly keep coming back to.

Being able to offer lunch on a very busy Saturday during the annual market is FANTASTIC!! Turned away from the neighbors, but no trouble at all here. Had a delicious lunch, friendly staff despite the crowds. Good value for money.

We had a delicious high beer here; tasty beers and delicious snacks. The lady who served us was also very knowledgeable about the beer and the food. Highly recommended.

Last Saturday, we dined here with family, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing—especially considering its reputation as one of the best restaurants in Heemskerk. We had to wait a very long time for the food. The starter, a Camembert to share, was remarkably small. When we asked for extra bread, it turned out that they charged €1.50 for four pieces of baguette, which seemed disproportionate to us. While waiting, however, we were frequently asked if we wanted anything to drink, which gave the impression that the focus was primarily on drink sales rather than on serving the food. The vegetables accompanying the main course were also undercooked. A staff member tried to resolve this politely with a complimentary cup of coffee, which we appreciate. Unfortunately, one of our guests later suffered from stomach upset and nausea, possibly due to the still-hard asparagus. All in all, not an experience that lives up to the expectations outlined.

Nice place for a delicious meal, but also for a quick bite. Tasty draft beers and friendly, attentive staff.

Everything is great, the staff is so friendly. The lunch, high tea, and dinner are all delicious, and the tapas week is also highly recommended. In short, the best, most cozy, and fun place in North Holland.

We had a delicious meal here...the quality is good! The service is excellent. They also have a lovely terrace where you can sit comfortably all year round.

Everything is great! The only point of attention is a solution for the smell from the restrooms that wafts into your nose when the door closes when you're sitting on the benches at the side. It's really not pleasant when you're enjoying a meal. A door closer on the restroom doors so they don't stay open, and an automatic air freshener. ? And maybe lubricate the restroom door to stop the squeaking?

Delicious homemade lemonade. The croquettes were also delicious. The service was great. The cafe was cozy.

Highly recommended. I pop in every week for a bite to eat and a drink.

Cozy atmosphere. Lots of delicious things on the menu! (A little tip to complete the experience: I chose the poké bowl with crispy chicken. For my taste, it was a bit too much rice and the decorations were rather plain. Salmon or tuna would have been nice, avocado, some extra toppings, the cucumber cut a bit more original, etc.) The other dishes at the table also looked great!

I've been coming here for lunch for a while now, always very good, and the service is also nice. However, today I felt a bit down. Luckily, there was a spot for me. I ordered mint tea and a toasted sandwich, which I thought would take a good 45 minutes. I tried to get the server's attention; it was busy, which I understand. Until she took my order near my table, I waited for her to finish and asked if my toasted sandwich was coming yet. She rudely shouted at me that she was busy, "Okay, fine..." but then she started complaining about me to the other people at the table. She really made my day a bit worse because of this. I'm just starting to enjoy myself again after my husband passed away a few months ago; it's a shame about this incident. I'll definitely come back, though. I find it very pleasant, and usually the service is good, too, and the food is excellent... but this "lady" didn't get a tip from me ;-)

The staff also explained the "catch of the day," "soup of the day," and other special items on the menu. I ultimately chose the fried burrata, catch of the day, and cheesecake. The fried burrata was a pleasant surprise! The burrata was still beautifully soft and creamy on the inside and had a lovely crispy exterior, surrounded by delicious tomatoes and honey. The catch of the day was also delicious and looked great. Although the sauce seemed a bit thin/watery, it was still tasty... a small drawback in the presentation. The cheesecake was fine, but not exceptional. The presentation looked good and the taste was fine, but it didn't stand out from other cheesecakes. The price-quality ratio was excellent. We were very satisfied, it tasted great, and we enjoyed the sunshine. All in all, highly recommended if you're in the area.

Looks cozy, the prawn starter was delicious, the main course was mediocre, and the spare ribs were very bland. Service was poor and slow; we didn't see anyone at our table for drinks for an hour and a half. Quite expensive. We sat in the back near the restrooms, the door kept opening and closing, and then there was that sewer smell... We won't be returning.

Grand Café Van Ruysdael offers excellent food. The dishes are very flavorful! The devilish shrimp are especially delicious. It's always a treat to dine at this restaurant! The only downside is the poor acoustics. The noise from other guests can become overwhelming, making it difficult to hear each other. Despite this...highly recommended!

Friendly staff, good service, reasonable prices, a great location, and most importantly, they stay open late. We had delicious coffee and ordered a dessert that was far too sweet.

Ruysdael is always a great place to have a drink with friends. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Personally, I don't think the food is the best in the area, but it's certainly excellent and perfect for a pleasant evening out.

Cozy little spot in Heemskerk. You really get your money's worth. The carpaccio salad was absolutely enormous! I even got two slices of bread with it. The coffee and prosecco were also fantastic. I'll definitely be back!

Had dinner early on a Monday evening. No need to make a reservation, the terrace and the restaurant were largely empty. We took a basket of bread (6 euros) and a bittergarnituur (15 euros) as a starter. Then a burrata (13 euros) and a satay chicken (21 euros). Excellent food for a grand café/brasserie.

The service here is always great. We like to come here for a bite to eat or a nice drink. The girls in the service are always cheerful and nothing is too much to ask. The food is not "star restaurant quality", but fine for what it is. The cocktails on the other hand are very tasty.

Booked for my friends baby shower. Staff were accommodating,friendly, and attentive. High tea offered a variety of foods and catered to allergies.

The restaurant was taken over by another owner about a year ago. Do you notice a difference? In terms of food, not in terms of service. Have eaten here often, also for lunch, the food is excellent. Snacks also tasty, but the service is a bit less. Asked for extra chopsticks because there were two of us. I think it was too much to ask, I got a look like, should that be the case? Excuse me? All in all a successful evening. I was just surprised by her reaction... Gyoza's were great, the fries with truffle mayo Please do something about the service and it will be 5 stars.

You can have a nice lunch there

After many years (if I say so myself) of being a loyal customer, tonight was not a good experience! We first sat “outside” under the canopy. We were quickly approached and the drinks arrived on the table a little later. Due to the cold and hardly any staff outside, we went inside. The service there was even worse. It was a quiet evening, the place was not even half full with customers. Almost all of the staff were chatting happily in the kitchen. In the meantime I had been sitting with an empty glass for over 20 minutes. So I decided to go to the bar for a new beer, where I was looked at strangely. Still, I got my beer. Due to my facial expression, we were then served at the table in an artificial manner. Based on the experiences I have had in this restaurant, the quality is deteriorating. I just had to get this off my chest! And one additional thing, the toilets. A urinal was clogged. This is also rarely or not looked at at all. Hopefully things will get better again, otherwise they will lose me and several people.

Breadboard and dessert perfect, but a pity about the main courses... tough steak (yes... butt steak... but even that can be more tender if you try) and the chef's special, mini pieces of tenderloin with grilled vegetables? 2 carrots and 2 pieces of broccoli....

Cozy restaurant, delicious food and service with a smile. They have nice corners with sofas where you can enjoy your food.

Wooow! It looked like a cozy, small family diner from the outside. When you enter, you realize it's all but small. And then you get the menu! I'm a fish 🐟 and seafood 🦞 addict, and every from-the-sea meal just beggs to be eaten. I'm also a steak 🥩 lover really blue, slightly browned from the outside and slightly warmed, red and bloody on the inside. I specifically asked for it, they delivered perfectly! And ... on top of everything, truffle and Parmesan seasoned fries (I asked for sweet potatoe ones, they obliged, even though it wasn't on the menu) - just divine! I have a sweet tooth and their dessert menu is impressive, but I had to pass - I was already too full. In short, memorable experience! And, to be repeated!!!

Ze hebben tapas avonden in Juli en Augustus voor €31,50 pp. Ten eerste wilden we gaan zitten en toen mocht dat niet op die plek, want er kwam een grotere groep die daar had gereserveerd. Guess what? Deze kwamen niet. Ten tweede was het een beperkte kaart, waardoor we gerechte 2x hadden besteld. En waren de desserts exclusief arrangement. Ten derde kreeg ik een Spaanse koude soep in een kapot glaasje, had de parmaham een verotte nasmaak. Hier een melding van gemaakt maar noet het idee dat het iets interesseerde. Voor de rest van sommige gerechten ook het idee dat ze niet vers waren. Al met al geen aanrader en hebben we onze twijfels of het andere eten wel smaakvol zal zijn...

The food was very good, as was the service until a well-known influencer came in. After this, all attention was focused on this table and we had to wait longer and longer. Quite a letdown, I would have thought that all guests would be welcome and would be helped with all the attention.
