Truly exceptional in every way, the food was delicious, and the service deserves 10 stars, not five. They were truly kind and punctual, and the girl who served us was always available and smiling. Really nice brunch spot in the center. In the warmer months there is seating outdoors, otherwise there is a medium-size indoor dining area. There will likely be a wait during busy times, as can happen especially in nicer weather, but the experience is worth it. The place is cute and comfortable, and usually plays good music. There is a decent size menu with a good variety of brunch options both standard and some with unique twists. I have been here a few times and have to say each dish I have tried was very well done, including the presentation, which I don't see too often at such a reasonable price. On that note, the pricing is fair for a location this close in to the center of the city. I have been to several brunch restaurants in the area serving lower quality for higher prices. The New Amsterdam Benedict is a surprising combination of flavors that really works well for a hearty brunch dish. The coffee is also reliably good. They usually have some fun drink specials as well. The servers are very nice, helpful, and attentive. Really an all-around nice experience if you are near the center and looking for a tasty brunch.

One of my absolute favourites brunch places in Amsterdam. Everything in the menu is delicious, the staff is some of the friendliest in the city, and the place is so cozy and warm. It’s my third time eating here and can’t wait to come back

The first thing that catches your eye is the classy service. The food is delicious. I ordered shakshouka and pancakes. Shakshouka: 8/10 Pancakes: 9.5/10 Wait time: 10 minutes. Overall, I recommend the place.

We arrived at 3pm with two people with disabilities, but they sent us away saying the kitchen was already closed.

My wife and I cannot stop thinking about your hashbrown. She had the mushroom dish with a side of hash brown. And I had the Full English Breakfast, which came with a hash brown. Everything tasted great, but them hash browns... if you'd like to email me the recipe that'd be great! Overall, we had a wonderful time at Greenwoods. 10/10 will eat again... especially them hash browns.

The food was so good but tbh the staff which were only a mom and her daughter I assumed were very rude and lowkey racist serving and seating everyone but us for almost an hour, and when we asked if she could pour our coffee in a paper cup to go she just threw the paper cup at the table which would’ve been fine i don’t mind self service but she literally helped the other customers and poured it for them

A superb address in Amsterdam for a hearty, high-quality brunch. The dishes are generous, well-presented, and prepared with fresh ingredients—special mention goes to the eggs Benedict and pancakes, truly excellent. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, perfect for starting the day. The staff is welcoming and friendly, always available to offer advice. The place is small and very popular, so there can be a bit of a wait, but it's well worth it. A real gem for brunch lovers, not to be missed!

Best breakfast we had for a long time!

The restaurant looked super nice and cozy. The service was very good. The waitress kept coming to us and asking us if everything was okay, which I thought was very good. The food was delicious and the portion was reasonable. I found it very funny that you go through the kitchen to get to the toilet. I recommend the restaurant and would eat there again.

Great food!!! Good service, but very short on staff The outside is bad design, lack of a Gazebo to enjoy food, you eat on the sun, not good at all. They must buy a Gazebo or search for a better seating area. Inside is hot no air conditioning at all impossible!!!

Slow service, only 1 employee is servicing nearly 10 tables. They did not accept credit card because of some issues with the system. We did not have any cash (it is 2025). Even though we offered we could pay later when the system comes back and give our information, they refused and asked us to deposit money. Also they did not allow both my wife and baby to come with me to the ATM, which I think was very insulting. The lady tried to be as much kind as she could be, however the policies of this restaurant is insulting and they need to revise their policies! Overall, worse than average breakfast and a bad experience for us.

I remember coming here a year or so ago and there was an absolutely incredible Benedict eggs and lentil/daal dish for breakfast. Sadly they changed the menu event since I’ve moved into the city and while the breakfast eggs dishes are still very good I massively miss the eggs and lentil dish!

I came here for brunch and had an oat latte with the mushroom’s bruschetta largely based on the hype that I had seen for the restaurant online. I got seated quickly (though I was by myself) and the service staff were really lovely and attentive, which made the experience nice! However, I have to say that I was slightly let down by the food. It wasn’t bad and looked very aesthetically pleasing, but I felt as though it lacked a lot of the flavours I was expecting, and overall just felt quite bland. I normally love mushrooms on toast but these ultimately didn’t taste like much, so was disappointed by the dish. Overall, I probably wouldn’t say that it lives up to its hype online.

Very, very disappointing. It was cold outside, and they refused to let us sit in the restaurant. 😳 Despite a light blanket, it didn't manage to warm me up (the same with my neighbors at the tables), and I wasn't particularly sensitive to the cold. The food was cold, the coffee was too bitter... we didn't finish our plates. Basic and uninteresting. Finally, the prices were prohibitive. One last curiosity: we had to go through the tiny kitchen to go to the bathroom 🤔

25 euro per person. Ate in 15 min and waited 1 hour for tye staff. Expecting tip when waited 20 min to order or 20 min to pay

Shakshuka was very good and quite spicy for my experience, what I think is nice as it makes this place different from many others restaurants, which has this in the menu. Waiters were very nice. Highly recommend this place for breakfest in Amsterdam. You';; be ready for whole day of walking.

No idea why such a popular place would be understaffed. After making us wait across the street for 10+ mins when there were clearly available tables, we were told its only possible to sit outside in a strong wind because just 1 waiter cannot take care of both outside and inside. Place and food looked great, but clearly poor management. Its not like they were suprised they are full to the brim on a weekend...

The tea was normal, but the quesadilla was fried like a space saucer, Fried cheese burritos… The brioche bun was sweet, but the vegetables were bitter, and the fries were a bit crispy The batter of the fried chicken was too thick, and the whole thing was too oily and had too much sauce. I’m typing it in Chinese so that everyone can read it clearly first People checked in until they were tired of their taste buds😬

It’s a smaller space, I’m not sure if they take reservations but I recommend making one if they do! We waited maybe 20mins in the rain for a table. It might be better if they had some sort of shelter for people waiting outside. I ordered the English breakfast and it was pretty standard, nothing outstanding. My friend ordered the eggs Benedict which she really enjoyed. All of the beverages were delicious, I recommend the coconut strawberry matcha and the apple, carrot, ginger juice. The staff were very friendly and accommodating; we were able to take our matcha to go!

We came, made an order, two Royal breakfasts, 2 desserts, and 2 teas, after 15 minutes they just brought us desserts without tea, after another 15 minutes they brought us tea, they didn’t bring us breakfast until I asked the waitress myself how long we would have to wait for our breakfast and she asked me with a very surprised look, did we order anything else? So we waited for our breakfast and when they brought it it was delicious, but I had a piece of eggshell in my food. To pay I also had to wait 10 minutes, everything takes a very long time, I definitely won’t come here again!

Very disappointing. After waiting in the cold, we were rudely denied an empty indoor table without explanation—then seated at the same table 15 minutes later. Staff were cold and unwelcoming. We noticed other tables left empty and another group was dismissed after receiving the wrong order. We were also rushed to pay, possibly because I had questioned their seating policy. Best advice... show up early or expect to find a full house every morning. Wonderful, friendly, and efficient service. Brian and the team at Greenwoods will take great care of you. I started with some carrot, juice spiked with ginseng and lemon. Pancakes were soft, fluffy and smothered in fresh berries and syrup. Eggs benny with Pastrami... an out of this world thriller any time of day. Creamy hollandaise, runny egg yolk, salty pastrami on crusty sourdough combine to create the best dish I've eaten in Amsterdam. MUST TRY brunch spot sure to satisfy!

Everything was perfect and delicious. We ordered shakshuka and a vegetarian breakfast from the menu. The shakshuka was spicy 8/10, and the vegetarian breakfast consisted of eggs, halloumi, and vegetables. Overall, excellent 10/10. We ordered extra bread. The service was excellent and the food was long, and it was in the outdoor seating because the indoor one was closed.

This restaurant was recommended to us for a morning brunch, before visiting the city. We sat outside (with a direct view of the canals), without a reservation. We ordered a coffee and a pineapple juice, and two sweet pankakes with mascarpone and blueberries (the waitresses were very kind, smiling and polite). They were really delicious, maybe a portion each if you're not too hungry is excessive. Prices are high, as in many places in the city, but the combination of views and excellent quality food in this case can make it worth the cost.

Directly at the canal, super nice staff and we got our food almost immediately. There is always a small line and you have to wait approximately 15 minutes but it was really worth it. Food was delicious and they have vegan / gluten free options.

I’d heard of this place when researching before our trip so was delighted to find it was so close to our hotel. Massive portions. I had the vegetarian protein bowl which would have fed a family! Greenwoods Keizersgracht completely won us over. Tucked right along the canal, it’s the kind of place where you can sit back, sip your coffee, and just breathe in Amsterdam. The view alone is worth the visit, but the food sealed the deal. We ordered the Full English and Eggs Royale—both were delicious, super fresh, and left us happily full without feeling overstuffed. It’s clear they care about what they’re serving, and it shows. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, with lovely staff who made us feel right at home. It was the perfect spot to slow down and enjoy the morning. If you’re looking for a great brunch in a beautiful setting, this is the place. We’d go back in a heartbeat.
