Nicely located in city center. We had lunch, very tasty. Menu also offered veggie menus. Nice interior and pleasant service.

The food and cuisine were fine. The staff were extremely friendly and the bar had a very pleasant atmosphere. We had a quick lunch there and enjoyed it. We'd definitely go back if we're ever in the area again.

We had a wonderful evening here. Good beer selection and plenty on tap. We had a delicious snack! I can definitely recommend the Coopers ribs. There's not really anything vegetarian on the menu, but I'm sure they'll be able to accommodate it in consultation with the kitchen! Excellent value for money. Everything is neat and clean.

Had lunch at Grenare this afternoon. Cozy atmosphere, friendly, fast service, and excellent food! We had the truffle pasta and quiches. We enjoyed them from start to finish. The menu offers a wide, varied, and original selection. The lunch and dinner menus also make you want to come back at that time of day. Excellent value for money. Delicious homemade butter cookies with coffee and tea. Highly recommended!

Visited with my partner, staff were excellent and the food was excellent. We had quiche and a pear and goats cheese salad - both were lovely. We were advised the the portions were small ; but they were large enough for us.

Minimum input, maximum output… but only for the Restaurant. Ridiculous amount of food for high prices. We took (among with other things) the cheeseplate (kaasplaat). As it came we just had to lough out loud. 4-5 super mini slices/pieces of cheese, I think not even 50 gr. As the waitres asked us about it, she even said it is for two persons 😂😂😂 it is a running gag in our family now. Price 9,50 worth 3-4 €. No thx

Unfortunately, I found the high chairs not very comfortable for an entire evening. Service is very friendly, but you can tell it is very busy. For example, when you enter, no one comes to you and I had to wait and go looking for someone to pass on the reservation. That is not really a hospitable welcome.

This pricing does not make sense, and it was not clearly stated anywhere. When I pointed it out, the staff did not provide a reasonable explanation. Very disappointed with this approach.

Nice restaurant with a cozy, casual atmosphere. Really tasty small dishes with the intention of sharing or combining several. However, the price was not fully adjusted to this, so the final bill was actually too high. But the quality made up for a lot.

The food was delicious, but didn't really meet expectations. If you label something dinner, then I expect it to meet the quantity required for dinner. It didn't meet that expectation. Service was mediocre, staff was definitely trying, but if a group orders, then I expect everyone gets their order I nearly the same time. Seating left a lot to be desired. I understand that this establishment is called a bar. But even in a bar I expect a chair when ordering dinner.

Nice spot on the canal, unfortunately the chicken served in the ciabatta looked raw and staff were unwilling to remove from the bill despite the meal being left uneaten.

Perfect spot in Leiden for a drink! Grab a seat by the canal and watch the world go by. I had a beer and the Ciabatta Paling which is smoked Eel. Scrumptious! We also tried the fried mushroom balls and potatoes. Yummy! the staff was SUPER friendly and chatty.

Tonight we had dinner at Grenare on the Silent Rhine. We? Yes, an old group of friends who meet up every now and then for a bite to eat. A week earlier, 3 friends had sat here on the terrace, in the sun, from 5 p.m. until the staff removed it from the terrace at 1 a.m. So this evening we also headed that way...in the pouring rain... Appointed at 6 p.m. with 7 real men because 1 lieutenant colonel was back from Bosnia for 2 weeks and so on... First some beers at 6 p.m. while everyone drops in... Some insider information is shared about the food and that it is share dining and that you have to choose at least 2 or 3 dishes... Beer first... Still a bit hungry after an hour of beers. Take out reading glasses and order them. Those mussels ordered with prior knowledge. “ you get a pan full of fries! € As if that was already a win... I was quite hungry myself, so I ordered boneless ribs €15.50, spare ribs that you no longer have to gnaw on and a duck burger... €14.50 First the wrong dish arrived... duck breast and no duck burger... the boneless ribs were put down. In a modern, coarsely baked, fashionable plate whose edges were 5 cm high, making it impossible to cut anything normally with a knife and fork. And there wasn't much cutting to do... 5 strips of meat were pulled off a spare rib and draped in the high plate with some farmer's salad added (€ 1.75 full tray at Dirk). The high edge of the plate is apparently intended to mask or to ensure that the wind does not get a hold of it.. The duck burger tasted great.. no burger buns but roasted caps.. caps are the butts of a whole loaf.. left and right.. for the ignorant.. As big as half a tompouce… for… that… Some of us have already mused about the FEBO later… By the way, I had dinner at La Bota that same week... spare ribs €20 and a doggy bag for spare ribs the day after! How? Fortunately, we were able to nibble along with the mussel customers... and grab some fries... With a strong appetite, everyone ordered dessert of course... top formula... lots of cheese boards (€ 12.50) Anyway, it will work, I understand the costs and the hipperdehippergoat.. But at La Bota, for example, you won't get it for that amount of money... in 3 days. To finish, ordered 2 more drambuie. With an even more beautiful ending from the cute girl at the counter;” Have you ever seen that here?” After climbing all the bottles on the top shelf and grabbing the right one under the applause of these 7 men, we ended our evening there... Super fun to have a drink... but just get a shiny chin at the FEBO beforehand...

We shared a loaded fries with jalapeño and bacon and a freshly baked bread with camembert. Next to it a delicious Rioja. It is a beautiful tent to sit in: very attractive both inside and outside. I find the menu inviting and you are served a good portion. Almost too much, haha! Also affordable. If I have to complain about something: the waiter came to the table a little later to take our order even though it wasn't necessarily busy. For the rest they were great: pleasant and friendly. Have you ever been to Leiden? Then definitely go here for something to eat and drink!

The menu has plenty of options. We got the canard confit burger and the halibut, both were fantastic, a bit small but well presented and delicious.

Nice location and atmosphere (it was a warm evening and we had dinner outside). Service very good and our waitress ensured we could have some food even if we were cutting close to the kitchen closure. Food portions are too small: we ordered duck breast, only to get a single think slice, and a more reasonable, but still small, portion of mac&cheess (check Ryan Adams review from 3 weeks ago). One reccomendation: after we sat, other customer came; with the good season approaching, I would extend the kitchen service until 10PM, at least on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The prices were way too high for the quality and amount of food served. Unfortunately it is another “shared dining concept” which usually just means “pay more for less food”. A good example was the mac & cheese, if you wanted only that as your main dish, and ordered 2-3 of them (as advised by the restaurant to equal 1 main dish), that would be €30/€45 for a main dish sized portion of mac & cheese, which is outrageous. Of course, most people don’t order in this way, but it does give perspective on the pricing. Otherwise, service was good, and the wines didn’t seem overpriced.

End of the day having a beer in a super cozy place. Pleasantly busy, delicious drinks and a 🍺, that together with nice people makes a day of leading complete

Unfortunately we didn't eat, which is why I can't give a review, but we had a nice drink on Friday evening at Grenare. Very busy evening and nice atmosphere. It is best to add an extra coat rack, because there were coats everywhere and therefore there was little room for seating in our room. Otherwise great tent!

Have patience if you eat here. Do you want a steak medium rare? Order rare! You wait an hour (you wait anyway) and you get it done. And the taste is... well, nice and dry, chewy. It's a shame to use the meat because it really has potential. Do you get a drink on the house as compensation? Comparing the price of two glasses of wine against a bottle makes little sense. Two glasses of the most expensive wine by the glass are 7eu per glass. We wanted the most expensive bottle of 39 for 25. This was not possible. Because 'You shouldn't look at the percentages, the bottle now costs 28. And, oh yes, it has already been opened.' Fine! I don't look at your tip ;) Oh and would you like dessert? They serve your food so late that the 'time for dessert' is over. Shame! Cozy tent and very good for a drink!

The location is in the heart of Leiden and exudes a very warm atmosphere, with a beautiful interior that creates the perfect setting for a relaxing coffee break. The pleasant service and delicious coffee make this a must-visit.

We went for lunch, my wife had a sandwich and I had 2 croquettes with bread. The floor bread has a very hard crust and cannot be cut. A saw would be useful! The table also moves back and forth when cutting. The furniture really doesn't make any sense. The tables are of a very rickety quality. The seats are also bad. You sit with your back against your neighbor. I think the furniture has been cut back. The decor is simply a mockery. There are also those mini tables with bar stools, and then they expect you to have lunch there? The entrance in the alley is also very clumsy, the logic of the doors is not clear to me, perhaps put together by Neighbor and Neighbor? I bumped into an occupied seat, door and all.... When I went to the toilet (after squeezing out of my seat) I was confronted with an uneven floor at the entrance to the toilets, which meant that you had to take a small step to have to do downstairs. I almost fell. Who made this up? Make this level so that no accidents can happen. It was my first and last time in a tent like this.

Our go-to place for coffee and drinks in Leiden. Very friendly staff (sometimes a bit too busy), beautiful bar. A lot of noise in the evening, perhaps add some sound insulation to the ceiling?

Grenare is a true discovery in the city! From the moment we walked in, we felt the warm and inviting atmosphere that this beautiful business radiates. The staff was very friendly, which made our experience even better. The menu offered an impressive selection of delicious dishes (many smaller dishes), and there was a wide selection of 0.0 options. Besides the fact that it is a super beautiful and large place, it also has a great terrace where you can sit comfortably even in winter (with blankets). Ideal for a drink for two or a drink with a large group.

Leuke bistro, ziet er van binnen gezellig uit! En aardig wat zitplaatsen hoge en lage stoelen. Alleen wat gedronken

Eten was echt goed, maar relatief kleine porties. Service kan beter, we moesten lang wachten om te bestellen. De ruimte zelf is helaas erg galmend. Je kan moeilijk een gesprek volgen (als je wat ouder bent). Heeft daarmee ook effect op de sfeer. De inrichting ontbeert geluid absorberende sfeer volle elementen (gordijnen en dergelijke).

Very loud, no sound proofing, all hard wood and metal and stone, couldn't even hear the person across from the table. a bit pricy, little amount of food. Its like all show no go.

Het eten was lekker maar de hoeveelheid was echt te weinig. ik twijfel ook over de hoeveelheid vlees. Verder waren de bij gerechten minimaal, 2 gevulde mini paprika en een paar polenta friet (erg lekker). Tip meer bijgerechten en niemand on ons klaagt!

Eigentlich ein netter Laden, aber es war abends so dermaßen laut, das es keinen Lust mehr gemacht hat noch einen zweiten Drink zu bestellen.

Schöne Location, liebevoll und stilmässig passend eingerichtet und man sitzt schön an einer zentralen Theke (oder einem der Tische). Es gibt auch wirklich sehr aufmerksames Personal, aber es ist leider unfassbar laut, die Akustik ist nicht gut geregelt.

Wij kwamen er toevallig terecht voor een broodjeslunch : broodje zalm en broodje kip. Allebei verzorgd en erg lekker! Complimenten aan het keukenteam! Ook dank aan de zaalmedewerkers, die ons niet alleen professioneel en vriendelijk bedienden, maar me ook een ehbo-ijspack bezorgden om op mijn verzwikte enkel te leggen.

Vriendelijke serveersters alleen 4 verschillende aan tafel om te vragen of je wat wilde bestellen. Wel goed koffie. Voor n borrel is t een ok plek, maar door veranderen van kaart niet echt om n hoofdmenu te nemen. Meer tapas

Unfortunately the chubby blonde waitress ignored us. After 20 minutes and a lot of waiving she came to get our order. She did not apologize whilst confronted at ignoring us (the two tables in front of us came in later and already had drinks). Since we had to wait that long we also ordered the food. Again nobody came to ask us if we wanted a second drink. The food was ok. Finally after two courses and 25 minutes of waiting she came to pick Up the empty dishes and we were able to get another drink. Btw it was not packed we just were unlucky to get the corner table. All in all we would not go again due to this rude waitress
