Meat is clearly not fresh. After 10 min eating, I started puking and having diarrhea. The waiter was observing me with those dodgy eyes and laughing when I went to the toilet.

The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. Shoarma is highly recommended!

I've been here three times now, and the food is undoubtedly of good quality. The flavors are authentic and strongly remind me of my own visits to Turkey. As someone with a Turkish background and many Turkish friends, I can say that the quality is truly excellent. What disappoints me, however, is the price-to-portion ratio. The portions are consistently on the small side, while the prices are actually quite high. For the same dish, you often pay around three euros more here than at other establishments that serve larger portions, even though the purchasing costs should be comparable. That feels out of balance. Good quality can certainly cost a bit more, but then I expect the portion size to match. As long as that difference isn't addressed, I honestly don't think the price is justified.

No prices listed, and they charge me 18 euros for a SMALL hair salon. Is that thing made of gold?

This place is absolutely filthy! This place has gone downhill so badly. Dry shawarma, cold fries they dare to charge €5 for. Ridiculously high prices. Everything was tasteless. The chicken wasn't washed properly because you could still see BLOOD.

I had the best meat and stew I've ever had in Amsterdam here. The attention and friendly staff were excellent. I definitely recommend it.

A midnight life-saver for people who wanna grab some Turkish dishes, such as Turkish meatballs, lamb shish. Tastewise they cook really good stuff and offer tea and a piece of dessert. If you don't wanna go to bed with an empty stomach, better stop here for sure.

I can't say the prices are very reasonable but they are not expensive either so you can easily fill your stomach. Definitely try the soups, they are both reasonable and delicious. We heard that there were refreshments but we didn't get any, we even expected at least a cup of tea :)

Dear Mesut, As a loyal customer who has enjoyed eating at your restaurant for years, I unfortunately have to say goodbye to your restaurant for the following reasons: The delicious large well-filled shoarma dishes from before have been changed to small plates, with little meat and lots of vegetables. Secondly, your employee has charged me too much for the second time, because I could not pay cash. I had to pay 24 euros for a shoarma dish plus a coke. While a dish costs 20 euros and a coke costs 3 euros. But the employee charged an extra euro because I was going to pay by card. I don't know if you notice, but your business is almost empty. Even on Saturday evenings, where your business used to be full of guests, there are hardly any customers to be seen. That is really because your dishes are no longer large, and perhaps also because your employees charge more than is indicated on the menu. As proof I would like to show you my bank statement so that you can get the camera footage and talk to this stealing employee.

Shoarma is delicious and the service is very good.

This is a fine dining style hair salon. Upon entering, a warm welcome. Ordered a hair salon with the men and it was excellent. The chicken was well prepared and the shawarma was something to write home about. The staff was very helpful and the evening had a nice ending.

Undesirable and very rude; we ordered 2 shawarma dishes of rice and we received fries. I called the business and the gentleman indicated that he did not have a courier and the gentleman said that we had to pick it up ourselves.

Mesut Shawarma always number 1 with its Shawarma's, delicious, always open until late, a lifesaver and the fast service number one in Amsterdam and a very friendly team!

Today, after being a customer at Mesut for over 15 years, I was disappointed with the cold soup I was served. When I mentioned this to the waiter, who hasn't had a smile on his face for years, he came back with the same soup, which had clearly been microwaved – it even had a skin on it. When I asked if it had been microwaved, he confirmed it, but his response was inappropriate. For a soup of 6 euros I expect warm soup, and I was not happy with the idea that this soup came from the microwave. The use of soup pots instead of warming containers also seems outdated to me. This was my last visit to Mesut; Too bad, because the last time it was also bizarrely bad. Prices increase every six months, but the portions decrease and the fries seem more burnt every time.

We came all the way from Utrecht to enjoy mesut shawarma. The warm soup beforehand was very tasty. We give them a 10 for shawarma and chicken dish!! Well recommended

The lamb shawarma was wonderfully seasoned and perfectly grilled, and the portions were generous. The bun was fresh and the garlic sauce made it perfect. In addition, the service was very friendly and fast. The employees took the time to prepare the food fresh and made sure everything was to your liking. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and authentic, so you really feel like you are eating at a traditional grill room. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for tasty shawarma in Amsterdam! I had dinner here with my partner. After looking at the menu, we both opted for the shawarma dish. What a good choice! The dish was super delicious, especially with the garlic sauce. Definitely recommended for shawarma lovers! The staff was nice and the service was fine. All in all a nice experience. We would love to come back here again!

I am Turkish myself and have had a lot of experience in Turkish cuisine, but this was truly indescribable! I have never eaten such delicious Turkish food! Besides that, the atmosphere was really great, I felt super comfortable and the service was really great! If I could give more stars I definitely would!!

Real Turkish food is served here, I come here often and I really love the shawarma they have here, I have eaten shawarma in other places but the shawarma here... pffft really has a completely different taste! Definitely recommended, and I also get free dessert and tea every now and then! Very sweet and good service they have here, not many places still provide such good service.

WORTHLESS. I used to come here Weekly! But now!?? They've gone crazy From €5 pita shawarma to €8.50 ??!! 😨😱😱 Tastes like air I only managed to get rid of it with a lot of sauce. And €5 for a small portion of overcooked, tasteless fries? The shawarma really doesn't taste like ANYTHING. This used to be one of the best businesses in Amsterdam But now, they better start a card café, because this is no longer about anything €25 wasted on fries with mayo And 2 pita Shawarma. I will NEVER eat here again! And I'm not the only one. Shame !

Just ate. High entry and no help with the stroller, while the restaurant is empty. Restaurant prices, but snack bar service. - no welcome - no pleasant conversation - no question if we need anything - no Dutch language - no high chair offered, but you have to get one yourself - no Turkish tea at the end. - waiter is just wearing street clothes and neither spoke Dutch (this is also part of hygeine) Meat quality low, not well cooked. We wanted extra meat, but that was not possible, according to the waiter. For baby lentil soup, no consideration was given and a baby portion was offered. Bread is cold. I walked to the cash register with soup at the end to pay and take soup with me. Great place for some taxi drivers or construction workers, but if you don't want a grumpy woman...go to Meram, sherufoglu, beymen. Mesut is a thing of the past.

Falafel sandwich was fine falafel but very poor for 9.50!! with only 4 falafels, a little lettuce and sauce. No filling at all. So much too expensive. Next time Corner Inn on the corner Kinkerstraat/Bilderdijk.

Tried Iskender, it was not tasty!

I made a reservation here for 2 people to do iftar. Fifteen minutes before Iftar let us know that we will be a little late due to traffic and already placed our order. We arrived 3 minutes later as communicated, only to be told that everything was ready but that our table had been given away. Drove 40 minutes for NOTHING. This is not how you should treat your customers, I will not set foot in here again and will ensure that those around me do not do so either. DISRESPECTLESS and not to be trusted.

Extremely friendly and hospitable staff. If you ask what something is, it is neatly explained and the plate is well and neatly filled and laid out, together with 3 types of sauces and a basket of Turkish bread, everything is complete. Personally, I think soft drinks come in cans. "Please remember the step" is said to every visitor as you leave.
