I definitely don't recommend it. Opening hours were listed as 10:00, and my wife and I went for breakfast around 10:15. They first gave us a menu, then rushed over and told us there was nothing but soup. They said the chefs hadn't started work yet. While we were enjoying our soup, the chefs and the owner loaded up the breakfast items on the table next to us and served us a delicious breakfast. Don't go to these frivolous, indifferent establishments that don't reflect Turkish culture at all, and don't even know the first letter of hospitality. There are much better ones in Amsterdam.

This is a great place for those looking for reliable and delicious Turkish food in Amsterdam. The menu includes many home-cooked meals. Its central location is spacious and spacious, with tables both inside and outside.

I was really disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The food was poorly prepared, and unfortunately, it tasted like it had been sitting for a long time — definitely not fresh. The flavor was bland, and the texture was off. I had high hopes, but this visit was a letdown. I hope the restaurant takes customer feedback seriously and improves the quality and freshness of the food.

Wow. Just wow. I wasn’t expecting to love this place as much as I did, but it completely won me over. The interior design is beautiful — modern but cozy, with soft lighting and tasteful decor. I ordered the seasonal butternut squash ravioli and it was absolutely incredible. The sauce had a depth of flavor that you usually only find in much more expensive restaurants. My friend had the duck breast and said it was the best she’d ever had. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to enjoy working there. It made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming.

A Place to Eat with Confidence in Amsterdam: İstanbul Restaurant We had dinner at İstanbul Restaurant with a group of 38 people that I was guiding. The entire group was satisfied with the price, service and hygiene. We felt right at home thanks to the friendly staff who did their job properly. The prices are quite reasonable for guests coming from Turkey. In this respect, it is a place that everyone can visit in the long run. For those who come to Amsterdam and are looking for delicious, healthy, filling and affordable food; a place where you can take your friends, acquaintances and guests with confidence, run by people who do their job properly. I hope the same quality and care will continue.

The place is nice, the service and reception are great and welcoming. I just asked for coffee and they allowed me and were nice. I saw good food items around me for the orders. Unfortunately, I got to know the place on the last day in Istanbul and I did not have time for a meal there.

The food is nothing short of Turkish. We ordered Iskender Kebab❌ Lamb Kofta❌ Hummus✅ Lentil Soup✅ French Fries✅ Honestly, the food was very, very average and I wouldn't think of going back again. On top of that, it's very expensive.

During our visit to Amsterdam we found this Turkish restaurant. From the typical Turkish menu we tried spicy Adana Kebab, Döner Kebab, Onion rings and Baklava we took with us. But the menu also includes traditional Lentil soup, Humus, Yaprak Sarmasi, Falafel, Soarma, Baklava, Sütlac, Künefe. The food was very tasty and the service friendly. Since we love Turkish food and culture, we were pleased to find a piece of Istanbul in the center of Amsterdam. More on @larmarluxury.

Everything was just good, can only recommend

Extremely bad and overpriced food. Definitely don't go there, the döner is worse than the ready-made döner sold at BİM markets in Türkiye. It was poor quality, it was like it was bought ready-made and heated up and served, it wasn't döner, it was just ground meat, we know what ground meat döner is, this is not döner. We ordered the beyti, the Adana inside was like rubber, it was worse than the factory kebabs you buy from the market. After leaving the restaurant, we came across the Steak Haus 50 meters down, we looked at the prices of two or three of them, they have 200-250 gr steaks on their menus, much cheaper than the worthless döner at Istanbul Restaurant. I must admit, the lentil soup was good. They charged 87 Euros for one lentil, one beyti, one döner, one chicken shish (you can't even add up to 60-70 gr chicken), one French fries, and two ayrans. The portions were also very small.

Very delicious, I recommend it.

I bought 4 pieces of baklava which were so tiny they cost me about 9 euros and they weren't that good either. So I give that restaurant a very poor rating.

Unfortunately, I was not satisfied at all. We ate Adana kebab for two people and paid 53 Euros for ayran and coke. But I have never seen a place with such poor service and taste in my life. They bought the adanas ready-made, as if they were bought from the market and made. The food came, they didn't bring any bread etc. It came when we told it to and it was a little stale. We asked for tea after the meal, they said no, but they asked someone they knew if they would drink tea. They had an attitude like get up and go. I do not recommend.

Definitely don't go, friends. No service, food. Absolutely irrelevant food. You'll feel like you've wasted your money. We ordered Adana kebab, I can say that the meat kebabs sold in Turkey are better, and they did not give us anything that should be lavash with Adana kebab. When we asked ourselves if there was any bread, they brought us the loaf of bread you know, it is a complete disgrace. The waiters are liars, they are trying hard for you to stay as you eat your meal.

I find that they are because of the central location near the train station and the good quality is appropriate. Disappointing! The portions were extremely small, some of the food seemed like cheap ready-made meals and was apparently just warmed up. The prices were completely exorbitant. Very empty (the only good thing) doner kebab was lacking in portion with half the doner completely cold and tasted stale. Upon finishing it there was a pool of oil that made me regret stepping foot inside there.

It was unsuccessful. When I got in, I wanted to go out immediately. It was not clean and I did not like the quality of the products. There was doner kebab and it did not smell good at all.

Shame on them to call this a Turkish restraunt the food is cooked over a gas grill and was raw I'm Turkish never ever had food like this with no love put in to it do not go . And they were playing football on the tv very over priced

We ate there on our trip to Amsterdam. The food was delicious, the service was extremely friendly. A tea was accidentally brought to us, which we drank and didn't have to pay for. Unfortunately, the portions were a bit small and the restaurant was too cold for us (after a long bike ride). But maybe that's also objective... Overall, really a recommendation. Keep it up...

BEST TURKISH FOOD IN AMSTERDAM! I'd traveled to Turkey, Germany, Austria and Belgium frequently as a journalist but it was my first time in Amsterdam. After having moderate to average fare at other Turkish restaurants I found Istanbul both searching for a proper Doner kebab as well as a much needed Turkish barber after waiting to get my hair cut in Boston for months for a proper Turkish shave and cut only possible in the Mideast or Europe. I found both at Istanbul. THE DONER AND ISKENDER AND ADANA ARE FANTASTIC. PERFECTLY WRAPPED, SPICED, MOIST AND LUSCIOUS WITH GARLIC SAUCE. I had one every night of my holidays and I highly suggest it. The owner or co-owner Bilal is a prince of a guy and when I asked where to find a proper Turkish cut he was on the phone to his uncle over the road in moments, Omar, and got the best cut and shave in years. Wonderful place, wonderful people. If you're in Amsterdam go to Istanbul daily, you won't regret it. Sen en iyisin!

It's a place where you can come from Turkey and buy Turkish food. It's not cheap, it's a bit expensive, but the food is good.

There is a treat in Turkish culture. Whichever kebab shop you go to, you'll get a pita, a small appetizer or a small salad. They never offer tea. These are Dutch. Come on, you don't have a treat before the meal. What's the point of paying 8 Euros for tea after the meal? Also, tomato paste is not added to lentil soup, it becomes ezogelin. No oil is added to the salad without asking. A real tourist hangout place. I didn't like it at all.

I think its only to scam tourists, NO recommended at all.

I definitely do not recommend it. It will never suit your taste. The business says, "Eat to make more money, just get up and leave, you don't matter to us." Turks should not have any expectations, it is a place that misrepresents the name of Istanbul to the world. It is a place that prints money like a mint but does not improve itself.

The prices are expensive, but let's say it's normal for Amsterdam. They brought a loaf of bread for soup along with the Adana kebab. When we want lavash or pita, they tell us to bring it for the money. They will sell the bread for money as if we had said little. I don't know how they treat other tourists or the Dutch, but they show kindness and service towards us. It was very bad. I don't recommend it at all.

I really pushed myself to give points, but how could you introduce us more casually with a name that represents our Istanbul! The interior design of the place is never bad, but the service and taste were bad. We were a table of 13 people, and although we did not expect excellent service at once, they literally brushed us off to get up. Dead cockroach on the bread!! We decided to pop in for a soup - how bad could it be? I don’t think it can get worth than this. The moment they put down the bread on the table, I saw the dead roach and pointed at it in shock. In response to that, the person picked up the bread basket, picked the roach from it and said “there is nothing”. I was dumbfounded. This place is a health hazard, stay away.

The kebab plate was very weak, for example the salad had no onions and was too little, the rice pilaf did not suit Turkish cuisine, and the price was not cheap either. I do not recommend it.
