The food was really delicious and fresh. We would definitely come back.

We had eaten our meal and dessert elsewhere, but afterwards we craved Turkish coffee, so we found this place on the way and decided to take a half-hour break. When we sat down, they told us we had to order something to eat with it; however, since we were already full and couldn't find anything suitable on the menu, we said we couldn't. Luckily, they let us have coffee, saying "we'll let you have it this time." But then, one of the waiters kept coming to our table every 5 minutes, asking "Would you like anything?" to make us want to leave or order something else. We had the chance to eat and drink coffee in many places in Amsterdam, but we have never experienced such treatment anywhere else. I definitely do not recommend it.

In Amsterdam, this is definitely a place I would recommend in terms of price-performance ratio. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. All the staff are Turkish and are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. My friend and I came as a group of two. All the staff, including the owner, were very attentive and we were very pleased. We ordered Beyti, and it was the best Beyti I've ever had; it truly reminded us of Turkey. The staff were also very friendly, and I'm sure we'll be back again.

If I could give the service less than one star I would. Unfriendly offered to buy something to please stop in and use the restroom so I could think and then eat and as soon as I offered they said the government won’t let us unless something something something unintelligible and shooed us away like garbage.

Honestly, everything was very good, the staff were friendly and attentive, but the bill that came after the tea was very upsetting; a Turkish restaurant charging for tea, an exorbitant price. Moreover, the tea was stale. Never again. Two stale teas for €5.

We ordered few times but they didn’t bring our food and we had to ask more and more. Also the male toilet was busy and they didn’t let me use the female one . They slammed the door in a rude manner. I talked to the manager about it and he backed up his crew . Eventually It took too long l had to quit using the toilet

There were five of us girls here, and we had a delicious meal. The place was very cozy and clean, and we enjoyed everything. I thank the chef and the team for the great service.

If you're looking for the taste you'd find in Türkiye, you'll be disappointed. Compared to European standards, it's far below average. Would I recommend it? No.

We went there at noon, and I ordered Sis Kebab with hot Turkse Coffee. The food was delicious and the coffee very strong. Veru fast serving and very diligent in getting the done plates. The restaurant design is a traditional design but overall very enjoyable.

While touring Europe, exhausted and carrying a 40-kilogram backpack, I asked if I could use the restroom. The answer was no. That's truly unfortunate.

What a terrible restaurant! First of all, the staff is very unfriendly. They look angry, don't greet you, and moreover, they don't let you eat in peace. The staff just stands there staring at you the whole time while you eat. The food is very expensive, but it lacks flavor. You can't taste the spices, and they make it look better than it actually is. There are much better restaurants for better value, food, and friendly staff. Definitely not recommended.

I believe this has been the most disappointing Turkish restaurant my husband and I have ever visited. The service felt disorganised with the waiter returning three or four times insistently to take our order, even once while my husband was in the toilet! Also despite the restaurant not being busy. The Iskender Kebab in the photo was underwhelming, and if I had the chance to choose again, I would certainly go elsewhere.

Friendly and efficient waiters. The Turkish food (the real deal) was superb. It's a shame you can't have a glass of wine or a beer with your meal because they don't serve alcohol.

I wanted to share my experience from a few months ago, as a friend of mine went through a similar situation. As students abroad, we came back with great excitement, missing our country's people and food. The prices are expensive, the food isn't tasty, but putting that aside, the attitude of the staff towards Turks is appalling. We entered with a smile and a "hello," but as soon as we entered, they told us we couldn't use the restroom. We explained that we were there to eat. Then they said we couldn't bring glasses, and I said I could throw them away. We reluctantly sat down, as if we were going to eat for free. The staff, who were constantly circling around foreign customers, didn't even bother to properly visit our table. We were practically kicked out before we even finished our meal. I think you misrepresent our people and culture with a name as pleasant as Istanbul. My country's hardworking tradespeople (I say this as the grandchild of a tradesman) treat everyone with a warm smile and do their best, earning their due. This attitude, this opportunism, this contempt for one's own people was unacceptable.

I had a good experience at Istanbul Grill Restaurant. The grilled chicken with rice pilaf was flavorful, well-cooked, and served in a generous portion. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, making it a pleasant place to enjoy a meal. The service was friendly and attentive throughout the visit. While everything was enjoyable overall, there’s still a little room for improvement, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars. I’d definitely come back to try more items from the menu.

The soup and coffee were okay; I'm only giving a point to the waiter, otherwise the guy I think was the owner was rude, and they wouldn't even let me just have coffee. It wasn't cheap either, and the items on the menu were very strange. They said if you want coffee, you have to order something else too. It would have been nicer if they had Turkish delight or a dessert with the coffee; they just gave me coffee. It's very close to the central station.

The waiters' faces... They never smiled and were constantly circling the table like a whirlwind. A bearded staff member. He didn't speak Turkish. He was Syrian. He smelled terrible. The food arrived very quickly. Like ready-made food. Terrible service. And he didn't give me the bill. He just told me the amount. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Don't go there.

We didn't encounter any problems in terms of friendliness; they were very attentive and friendly, but the food was very, very bad. Besides being bad, it was also very, very expensive. We paid 24 euros for an Adana kebab, and it resembled everything but a kebab.

If you're a Turk and you choose to go here because it's a Turkish restaurant, don't even think twice. While we were eating, they treated us worse than if they'd kicked us out just because we were Turkish. We wanted to eat here safely with our children on a school trip, but they slammed tables and chairs as they chased us away. And they even scolded the children. In short, we understood that they don't like Turks from Turkey at all; absolutely do not choose this place.

Istanbul restaurant is located in the heart of Amsterdam in an excellent location on a lively corridor, making it easily accessible. The restaurant offers comfortable indoor seating and outdoor seating overlooking the corridor, which adds a wonderful atmosphere. As for the food, it is very fresh and delicious. I tried the Adana Kebab and the Doner Kebab, and I really liked them. Although preparing the food takes about ten to fifteen minutes, this reflects their commitment to serving fresh meals. The prices are very reasonable and competitive considering the quality, and the availability of restrooms adds extra convenience for customers.

Unfortunately, the restaurant has a much bigger reputation than it deserves. Their service was terrible, and their prices are outrageously high. There were two of us, and we ordered a mixed grill platter, an appetizer platter, and two cans of cola. The bill came to 102 euros. A few minutes after our food arrived, the Turkish employee came and told us to hurry up, saying we had 10 minutes before closing. He walked around for a few minutes and came back asking if we were finished. While he was arguing with us, he was still seeing other customers and letting them into the indoor seating area. We later learned that he was only closing the outdoor seating. As for the taste, it was very average—neither bad nor exceptional. For me, it was a terrible experience, and there are much better restaurants out there.

In a word, a terrible restaurant.

Rather expensive for the baked seabass, but for it's freshness and perfect baking, then mixed with patilcan salatsi and hummus side dishes, it's worth the price - only missing item is the authentic Turkish bread.

This evening, I politely asked to use the restroom briefly because I was experiencing acute symptoms that every woman has to deal with at least once a month. I was coldly refused. I offered to pay. Refused. I offered to buy something to drink. Refused. I was told I had to order food. So I even offered to order food. Still refused. I have rarely experienced such disrespectful, condescending, and misogynistic behavior. A minimum of humanity and empathy seems to be completely lacking there. It's absolutely shameful how they treat people who simply need a little help in an uncomfortable situation. Definitely the last time I will ever set foot in that establishment.

The restaurant was very bad. The food was extremely expensive for what you get. While you are still eating, they constantly come to your table to quickly clear everything away, meaning you can't even eat in peace. Furthermore, the portions are too small and not even enough for one person. We ordered a bowl of “biti” without rice and fries, and it was really disappointing. Way too expensive and absolutely not recommended.

Mixed Experience – Expectations Not Met My visit to Istanbul Grill Restaurant unfortunately did not meet my expectations. The cleanliness of the restrooms left much to be desired. I also found the portions rather small in relation to the prices. There were five of us, and we paid a total of €135. Given the quality of the food, I felt the price-performance ratio was not right. The meat seemed to me to be pre-prepared rather than freshly cooked. The restaurant has a high-quality design, but prices of €20–23 per dish seem quite high for that. Cheaper drinks would, in my opinion, better compensate for this. Furthermore, I found the very attentive service during the meal somewhat unpleasant. Overall, the visit was rather disappointing, and I personally do not plan to return.

The Turkish coffee was good. But it's ABSOLUTELY not a restaurant that symbolizes Turkish hospitality, it's very sad."

The worst part of our Amsterdam trip was the disappointment we experienced as soon as we got off the plane at this awful place called a Turkish restaurant. There were no complimentary appetizers on the table, we looked at the menu and the rude staff came and made decisions for us. A terrible mixed grill for two costs 70 euros? Don't go, you'll regret it.

The mixed BBQ was a great meal for two! The small bonfire added a nice atmosphere. The spiced rice was surprisingly delicious! There was also a basket of bread – we couldn't possibly finish it all! However, before we even finished the fries, the staff came to ask if we could clear the plate. It felt a bit rushed, even though the fries were pretty good!

Because the weather was cold, I ordered Turkish tea. It was warm and fragrant, so I had another cup after my meal. For the main course, I ordered a meat platter. I was worried the lamb would smell bad, but none of the meat had any gamey odor. The meat was tender, and the doneness seemed to be medium Walden. The chicken breast wasn't dry either, but it was juicy and moist. It was a very satisfying meal. For dessert, I ordered baklava, which was crispy, sweet, and delicious.

The doner meat on my doner plate tasted exactly like frozen doner in a plastic bag! Which it probably was. A terrible price for an even more terrible product. Absolutely outrageous!

It was a fantastic experience, they took great care of us, and it might be the most delicious kebab I've ever had. It's definitely a place you should visit if you're in Amsterdam.

Visited Istanbul Restaurant near Amsterdam Central. The venue itself is very nice and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and welcoming, which gave a good first impression. However, the food was a major disappointment. Before ordering, I specifically confirmed that the dish would be chicken and chips, and this was clearly confirmed by the staff. When the food arrived, it was obvious that a mix of leftover doner meat and chicken doner had been warmed up and served instead. This was not what I ordered and not what was agreed. The experience was very disappointing, especially after taking the time to clarify the order in advance. While others may wish to try the restaurant, for me it will be a one-time visit and I won’t be returning. It was'nt first time in my life eating..btw

They're too welcoming to take your complete order then ask you to pay to close the cashier, once food came on table started staring on me while eating and asking to "take-away" , when I tried to argue with manager why you took my order and brought it then close 30 minutes before time on google maps. Had to leave with appetizers and majority of food still there.Won't repeat or recommend this place to anyone.

Everything was very bad, the doner was definitely not even meat, the Adana kebab was hard and had cartilage in it and it was very expensive, don't waste your money.
