Gustavino Restaurant & Vinoteca in Zuidas

Gustavino claims to be an Italian owner near Amsterdam station south. So south As. We had made a reservation for a Wednesday 18-6-25, and walked into a virtually empty restaurant while the other businesses in the area were busy. Usually that is not a good sign, if the locals are not queuing. The atmosphere was businesslike and cool. We ordered an antipasti, a vegetarian version and a meat version. A glass of chardonnay. Starter and 3 main courses. Nicely presented but not special was the verdict on the antipasti, which disappeared with 2 or 3 bites. A pasta starter with courgette hidden somewhere, but I could not find it, and completely soggy and tasteless. Melanzane was downright bad. Looked like a schnitzel, quite hard, and by far one of the worst I have ever eaten. Eggplant was not present as a flavoring, and a lot of breadcrumbs. You hope for parmesan cheese or mozzarella or tomato or garlic. None of these things were found in this tough shoe sole. Caramel ice cream was good but you get that from a carton. The price for all this was 230€. Zuid As. But not worth repeating since there are quite a few nice places on the Zuidas with friendly service and good food.

Satisfied.The waiters were very polite and the atmosphere relaxing .I ordered 2glasses of red wine ,tagliatella al ragu and tiramisu.The tagliatelle al Ragu seems like spaghetti bolognaise and tiramisu was not the most impressive but I can’t complaint the overall experience was very pleasant .The prices were ok if we take in consideration the location and service.

Cozy restaurant, with a fairly high price level. Compared to this, the service is quite slow, but maybe that was just because a larger group arrived shortly after us. Although despite this, there was still plenty of room in the restaurant…

Very good experience. Service is top and attentive, you can quickly eat a culinary bite or have an extensive meal with friends/family

Bad service and scam. It took +/- 10 minutes before we were even asked for a drink. Anti pasta scam, for 5 people 1 plank the size of a dinner plate with a tartate the size of the base of a wine glass, paid €100 for this. Retarded. Only at the end of the main course was another drink asked, not out of spontaneity. Not worthy of a single star. If you are looking for fun, I would look further.

The food wasn't really amazing, the the atmosphere and the staff compensate it.

A simply perfect experience. The place immediately strikes you with its warm atmosphere and attention to detail, but it is once you are seated that the real show begins. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the beef fillet: impeccably cooked, very tender when cut and tasty in every bite. Such well-treated meat is rare to find, and here it was enhanced by a light sauce that did not cover, but enhanced the full flavor of the fillet. A special applause also goes to the service, in particular to the girl who took care of our table: kind, smiling and professional. Always present but never intrusive, she was able to make the experience even more pleasant with spot-on advice and sincere attention. I will definitely be back.

Very good service. Food is slightly above standard level. Wine choice can be improved. Too high prices for what you get. 2 people having 2 starters, one main, 2 dessert a 2 glasses of wine 130euro.

What a beautiful thing. Nice wines on the menu. Melanzane and pizza with nduja are delicious! The staff is friendly and attentive, thinks along and provides advice. Don't understand the negative reviews. Would love to come back for dinner or an aperitvo 🙏🏽💛

The food is good but the service is not very efficient, if you go at lunchtime you need at least one hour and a half.

An absolute show load with no substance. Tiramisu frozen with glasses...service card the menu not correct. So it's optics and being seen instead of quality when it comes to food.

Recientemente organicé una cena de celebración en Gustavino que superó mis expectativas en muchos aspectos. Mis huéspedes apreciaron el ambiente acogedor, el servicio atento, los buenos vinos y un menú de tres platos bien elaborado, todo a un precio razonable. Mi vacilación inicial, basada en críticas mixtas, resultó infundada. Mientras que la acústica fue desafiada por un grupo particularmente animado, el personal manejó esto profesionalmente y con cortesía. Muy recomendable!

Had a really great dinner on a Wednesday night. The place was quiet, although not empty. Service was a tiny slow with the pizza, but the starter arrived really fast and it was quite good arancini (I'm Italian and I was positively impressed). For the pizza (Diavola & Margherita), yes it was not perfect, but also not bad at all. Lovely cocktails, amazing double chocolate cake and general ambience. Plus, we stayed chatting till almost 23 and were not kicked out, which can happen in other places in the city. Would definitely recommend for a pleasant evening and nice food.

Really good italian restaurant near Zuidas area, suitable for work dinners and fancy dates.

The menu may be that of an Italian restaurant, but the quality is definitely not. It took them more than an hour to serve a carpaccio and a bruschetta... both "raw", so why make us wait so long? Not bad, but still mediocre, considering the price. The pizzas were terrible. Can you ever call a pizza “Burrata” and not put burrata on it? And don't tell me that that white water placed so randomly on top is butter because I really feel cheated. You can also tell me "eh but it's a touch of class": no, it's not. The environment is classy (even if too noisy, it was impossible to communicate without raising your voice, hence the 3 stars), the food is not, and it's a great shame. The staff is really kind and professional, impeccable. I gave 3 stars and not 1 to the service only for the dining room staff. Having said that, I'm sorry, but there are other "Italian" restaurants here in Amsterdam that are definitely more worth it.

El servicio fue rápido pero impersonal. La lasaña de berenjena una decepción total - sin apariencia apetitosa y sin sabor. Casi ningún tomate, la berenjena indescriptible y aún más arruinada por una bechamel insípida y sobreharinada. ¿Cómo pudiste conseguir una verdura. ¿La lasaña está tan mal? Me animé con un tiramisú que era cremoso, fresco y bueno, aunque carecía de riqueza.

I had made a reservation for 8 people a week ago (work lunch). Getting there, we are first told that we must sit outside, despite the fact that it's a very warm day. I insist that we want to sit inside (the restaurant is basically empty inside), and eventually they let us sit inside but I had to insist. Once we are sitting, I am told that for 8 people they can only serve the executive menu, we can't order a la carte. I complained, as this was never communicated to me when I made the reservation. (I could not find the information on the website, I looked it up just now.) So we were basically cornered into ordering the menu. I said we were all vegetarians, and at least this could be accommodated. The food was ok but not great, service not very smooth, and in the end we paid 35 pp for a starter and a main course, which was really overpriced given what we got.

Great food! We even got to talk Portuguese! Great service as well!

What a pity that the restaurant has to continously delete reviews and still have low rating! This restaurant has the worst service you could possibly imagine. I went here to grab dinner with two friends on a weekday. Food was unimpressive and not worth the cost. We were ready to leave and I asked one of the servers if we can get our coats back. He did not make any facial expression or nod and continued strutting towards us. I assumed that he didn't hear me and asked again, then he started bitching at me. "I have ears, I can hear you. Stop asking for the same thing twice." Afterwards he continued giving attitude when we were paying for our food. I asked him to split the bill. Then he started yelling at us on why we have to split the bill. I asked if he has never split the bill for other customers and he said that he never had to do this (LOL) and threw mints with the receipt. He kept aggressively yelling that he's not that old, although none of us were showing any emotion to prevent further violence from him. This was a horrendous service and experience. I hope others don't waste your own money being treated like this.

The Zuidas atmosphere is not my atmosphere, but here it was ok. The service from the ladies and young gentleman was fine, but the older gentleman showed little respect. The food was good venison. But the lemon cheesecake was frozen in the middle. Please put it in the refrigerator a little earlier.

Fantastische Apero Bar bei der zum Aperol noch ein halbes Menü dazukommt plus ist der Service sehr nett plus die Sicht aufs Meer und die Musik sehr attraktiv. Höchste Empfehlung!

ambience was really cozy, and relaxing. not very busy so easy to have conversations with people. amazing staffs and very accommodating. the good is alright, average the least. would have expected more.

Food was good, but a white wine Pinot at 9.50 per glass was a bit of a shock for a wine that was not selected. It was my son's birthday so I let it go but I won't be back for this reason.

Avoid at all cost! Poor service, poor food quality. It took 2 hours to bring some starters. We had the ribeye, it was the worst ribeye I ever taste in my life, it had no taste like beef or anything like it.

I had dinner here with colleagues. Atmosphere was very cozy (Christmas atmosphere is always good of course), service was good and fun and food was delicious. I had a pizza 4 formaggi, very tasty. My colleagues had different dishes, but they all said they had a delicious meal.

Excellent business lunch. Hospitably received, excellent service and advice. Delicious food too. Due to the crowds, the waiter sometimes had to interrupt our conversations. Understandable, but still a minus. However, now at the end of 2023, a year later, that did not happen. So that has improved.

Great and lovely place, good atmosphere. The service was good but not great. The food however was quite mediocre at best. Nothing was special, and even the pasta in the big cheese wheel was bland. The pizza dough was mostly bread, such as shame because they have a real wood pizza oven... and the toppings were quite ok. All in all, not really worth it.

We were a group of 5 and luckily got a table without a reservation even though the place was packed. We got good service and very nice food. Thanks to the waiter and the cheff!!

My husband and I happened upon this restaurant one night after we had just checked into a nearby hotel and were looking for somewhere to eat. It was very busy outside and without reservations amazingly enough they found us a table outside. Our server ( he may have been the manager?) went above and beyond for us to accommodate our eating preferences. We had the chicken scallopini. It did come with in season vegetables but their selection were not ones I like. The man serving us wound up bringing a huge bowl of different vegetables that were not on the menu but were ones that we both like and enjoy. The service was great, the drinks were good, and we did not want for anything! The chicken scallopini was some of the best I’ve had at a restaurant before. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and go there again if we are ever back in the area.

Wij waren met een relatief grote groep collega’s. Menu gekozen. Carpaccio was klein en te koud en waterig. Weinig smaak. De pizza Diablo met pittige worst: geen worst te zien: oprecht nul. Daarnaast pizza van matige kwaliteit. Dessert was oké. Prijs: euro 50. Echt absurd. Nu is Amsterdam Zuid duur, maar je kunt ook overdrijven. Bediening overigens prima en hielpen actief mee om onze wens tav eindtijd te halen. Echter, uit eten gaan moet wel lekker zijn en dit is gewoon onder maat. Helaas maar hier kom ik nooit weer.

Geweldig gedineerd met heerlijke wijnen. Verreweg de beste Italiaan van Amsterdam e.o.

We had a lunch outside in the sun. During the week it’s a very busy location with all the big office buildings surrounding the train station. You don’t notice it to much because the terrace is well shielded. We had a two course menu. Especially for lunch this was great because you only get your protein and some veg, not a big bowl of chips. Food came quick enough for a business lunch, tasted and looked fresh and was nicely seasoned. Staff was busy but had enough time for us. Prices as one would expect in this area.

Very good Italian restaraunt! They cook really good pasta and tiramisu. This is actually a problem in Adam to find a worthy Italian food, but Gustavino saves the situation.

Guy with the bun was very rude, judged us because we were wearing casual clothing (we came from Clubsportive). At first he didn’t want to give us a table but after I yelled at him and asked wtf his problem was, his colleagues came and quickly seated us. He did apologise though so that was nice. The rest of the service was excellent, especially the server named Koen. He advised us on which food we could and couldn’t eat since we’re Muslims. And also calmed us down and defused the situation. As for the food: pizza was pretty good. Dough was amazing but the topping were a bit too messy. As for desert: the cheesecake was to die for! 10/10 The presentation for every dish was also very good. 3 stars due to the incident in the beginning. Other than that I really enjoyed it Won’t be going there again though.

Great food. Horrible condescending server! Maybe he was just having a long bad day and didn't quite like having to manage another large group at the end of the day. Surely will visit again just for the food. Will make sure to stay away from that guy though!

Amazing experience. I celebrated my friend's brithday and was everything perfect! We had the Aperitivo Misto as starter, very tasy and wonderful presented. Then a Risotto All'Astice to share, top! In the end Tiramisù as bday cake, too kind of them!! Thank you Giovanni and Daniele to provided fro everything we needed. Thanks to the chef Fabrizio, you've kitchen staff rocks! Absolutley to came back.
