Happy Garden Kloosterveen in Wijk 08 Kloosterveen

We got takeout food; it was fine in terms of taste, quantity, and price.

We only ate the vegetarian options. These are small portions that taste the same. As a result, the price-quality ratio is out of balance. However, it is a clean restaurant, with friendly staff and a great atmosphere in a nice village in Drenthe.

Nice Chinese food, worth repeating.

We got takeout here tonight and it was delicious. Really incredibly tasty. I've never eaten such delicious tomato soup before; I had the noodles, satay, spring rolls, and prawn crackers. Everything was perfect. Top-notch!

The food was good, but I find 4.20 euros for a small beer outrageous, so I only had one. I don't think this is normal, so I won't go there again.

Had a delicious meal, in a word amazing

Had a delicious meal in a cozy atmosphere, with fresh ingredients and personal attention. Highly recommended!

Had a delicious meal and friendly people.

Good food, perhaps less choice than at another all-you-can-eat, but the food is good, the atmosphere is good, and the staff are pleasant and up for a chat, which I personally find more important. I can recommend it, just keep in mind that drinks come at an extra cost. I haven't had any problems with that myself.

Delicious food and a beautiful place, but you do get tired of the piano music after 2 hours.

Delicious food! Top quality fresh vegetables. Good service and had a nice chat with the owner. Highly recommended: the spring roll special!

A really nice Chinese restaurant. Fortunately, they have ti-pan dishes. Also a buffet. The service is very good and friendly. Reservations are recommended. Highly recommended...

It was very busy there (Whit Sunday), the food was good and tasty, 🍽 the service was a bit less because it was busy and there was less staff, but the atmosphere is good. The staff are always very friendly though. 🥰👍

This was the complete package: delicious food, very friendly staff, and a lovely atmosphere and decor in the restaurant. There were eight of us, all ordering different dishes. Everything was very tasty and well-presented. Highly recommended.

Great food, good atmosphere, and friendly service.

As a Hong Konger with an Asian palate, I really wanted to find a good Chinese restaurant in the Netherlands. This restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet starting at 5:00 PM. The food is plentiful and beautifully cooked. I especially recommend the pork neck and beef brisket, as well as the fried rice and noodles. The environment is clean and comfortable. I don't speak Dutch, but the owner and the Chinese waiter speak Cantonese. I had a very satisfying and happy meal.

Eaten here for the first time today. The food is good. Plenty of choice. Cozy and friendly staff. Enough parking space in front of the building.

A lovely place to enjoy a nice time with friends. Delicious buffet, plenty of choice. The owners are attentive to the guests. Margreet, thank you for the friendly conversations we often get to have with you. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful meal. The service and the chef were very friendly. The food was exceptionally delicious. Thank you for a lovely evening.

What a lovely place to enjoy a meal with company. A delicious buffet with plenty of choices and excellent service. Personal attention and hardworking owners. The food is just as Chinese food should be. We'll definitely be back.

Recommended for a nice meal, both buffet and from the menu

I had dinner with my wife, daughter, and parents on Christmas Day. Compared to the Chinese restaurants in Assen, this is a good example of how it can be done differently. As a Dutch person, eating here is highly recommended. I said I'd leave a good review...here I go. Good food and very helpful staff. That makes the atmosphere even better.

For Asians (like me), this isn't a good place. Heard from an acquaintance that it was good here. I drove especially for this, but the food was a big disappointment. I think the average Dutch person would like it. The food is very sweet, and all the sauces taste the same. The fried meat wasn't crispy, even though it was freshly prepared. The dim sum wasn't dim sum, but pangsit and spring rolls. Just a regular Chinese restaurant, nothing more special than any other. Very disappointing, especially since I had high expectations. I'm very disappointed and sad about this. I've already spoken to the owner. The location is very cozy and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, I have to leave this review. For 80 euros, I had a bad dinner.

This restaurant was near us in Assen, but we had to leave for Rolde. I tried several other places, but unfortunately, not the same taste and quality as this one. The taste is consistently good... so just give it a try.

Great service, super friendly staff. The food was also great.

Had a wonderful meal today with my wife and two children. The food was delicious, and the restrooms were clean and fresh. We'll definitely be back.

The food is above average. The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant. We ordered takeout this time, but we'll definitely go back to eat in.

We had a delicious meal. We always had the buffet on weekends, although we saw that the menu is also available. The service was hospitable, and the owners went above and beyond to please everyone. And they succeeded! We enjoyed a lovely meal in a beautiful setting. The buffet was of good quality and offered plenty of choice.

We stumbled upon this place by chance, and what a stroke of luck! A super warm welcome; attentive, friendly, and engaging. We tried the buffet, and it was delicious. Excellent value for money. And then we saw the staff accompanying a pregnant woman and an elderly man with a walker. They came to pick up their order, and their order was neatly brought to their car. That's what hospitality is all about. Kudos!!

Excellent cuisine, friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. We've been here for the third time and haven't found any drawbacks yet. Highly recommended for any lover of oriental cuisine.

Delicious food! And friendly service! Small and intimate.

Top-notch Chinese restaurant. Food, service, atmosphere, and cleanliness! Nothing to add. Well worth 5 stars. Kind regards, and keep up the good work.

Delicious takeout this weekend. Served 19 people, it was very quick and delicious. We even got a drink and prawn crackers while waiting. Highly recommended!

Just picked up some delicious food. For 5 people, noodles with fou yong hai, noodles with babi panggang, satay ajam, and fried banana. More than enough, we even had some leftover noodles. The dishes tasted great.

Delicious food for a good price, nice atmosphere and service was friendly, so 5 stars from me, I hope you think so too.

Best Chinese restaurant in the region

We received a very warm welcome and had a delicious meal. The dishes were all excellent quality and served hot. The service was incredibly friendly and certainly not pushy. We will definitely return if we're ever in the area again.

The three of us went for dinner, and it was delicious! The people were friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was nice, and we'll definitely be back! Highly recommended.

Delicious food, very friendly staff. Toilets clean and spotless. Definitely recommended.

Too bad they are no longer in Assen, but it is well worth the drive

Had a wonderfully delicious meal from a portion of Sin Chow Mie

we were taken here by friends of ours, what a nice atmosphere this restaurant has, a Chinese what you can expect from a Chinese restaurant but then in a luxurious setting. The young employee who received us and after our table mountain leader and also served us the evening together with his colleague, deserves a compliment. So it is still possible hospitality and super fast and pleasant service. This young man thought along, advised, was accurate and very friendly, partly because of him we had a fantastic pleasant evening. All four of us had different dishes and each one was delicious, different flavors, really nicely served, also the possibility of a buffet. But we did not use that, in short, delicious food super nice service, it is too far away but if we are in the area we will definitely come back, the Peking duck with the recommended special sauce was fantastic. Thanks again

Our home, garden and kitchen Chinese. Delicious traditional with a fine kitchen. Never disappointed. Always friendly staff.

Two months ago we ate for the first time with the new owners. As usual, very cozy, nice atmosphere, excellent service and the food as always so wonderfully tasty. See you in three weeks.

They are also doing well in Rolde, a shame for Kloosterveen that we have lost this top Chinese

They thoroughly deserved those 5 stars!

We know Margreet and DouDou from the 90s when they had their restaurant at the Sticht in Assen, later they went to Kloosterveen and now they are in Rolde, how nice is that and you can always enjoy delicious food there. They are lovely people.

We enjoyed delicious, super fresh Chinese dishes. The Sun La soup is highly recommended, as is the Ma la Ap. Delicious crispy Peking duck with Sechuan sauce. But the classic Bami Rames was also excellent. We saw a Tipan dish being served at another table, which gave off a wonderful aroma, so we'll go for that next time.

Ate in the restaurant with the whole family. Including vegans and vegetarians. Super!

A beautiful Chinese restaurant with a large menu with many tasty dishes and also for take-away. Consideration has also been given to providing portions for the elderly to take away, so 1 portion is enough for them.

There was probably new staff in the service. This turned into a chaotic family dinner for 8 people. The table was too small and the food had to be placed on a turntable that was too small. The staff no longer knew who ordered what and the wrong items were also delivered. Too bad for such a new business in Rolde.

We ate with a large group from the buffet… some dishes were not completely warm which was a shame but the taste was great! Friendly service so recommended!

Got delicious food. We will be back!

Really, really, really the crispiest vegetarian spring roll with fresh vegetables I have ever had. Crispy to the last happy.

Bad meal!! The chicken seemed completely ground up. It had no meat structure whatsoever. So I only ate rice with pineapple pieces. The bami rames: the chicken dry, pale and tasteless. Beef was average to poor. We will no longer order meals here.

het was altijd heerlijk eten bij de happy garden jammer dat ze er niet meer zitten en dat de lidl het pand gaat gebruiken om nog meer uit te breiden

We had a delicious meal there. The tomato soup was great. We missed a bottle of Maggi on the table. But that's personal

We are fans of Happy Garden, even when they were still in Baggelhuizen (Assen), then Kloosterveen and now in Rolde. We always receive a warm and friendly welcome and the food is delicious and the service is friendly. Highly recommended.

Ate here with mom and dad. Cozy atmosphere with friendly service. The owner personally comes by for a chat and makes sure you feel comfortable. Delicious tipan dishes. We will definitely visit again!

Delicious food fantastic atmosphere

Delicious food, and as we are used to from dodo, delicious food such as tipan shrimps and the hostess Margreet and team made it a beautiful evening, see you soon, greetings Jan Roelof and Stance

They moved from Assen to Rolde, but here too they more than make up for the good name. Definitely recommended to eat here, casual and good atmosphere.

The pieces of meat are too large and way too fatty. The fried banana is dirty (tastes like cardboard). I think you can expect better quality for this price.

Vandaag afgehaald bij Happy Garden in Rolde. Babi pangang, babi ketjap en ta pa kwee, allemaal hele grote stukken vlees, erg veel vet, banaan was heel droog van binnen en heel vet van buiten. Geen aanrader

Just opened a week, and we thought we'd get a takeaway menu. Now all restaurants have become more expensive. But the prices must be related to the quantity. Purchased for 3 adults and two toddlers. A happy family menu with an extra bowl of noodles. Also the happy mix and prawn crackers, totaling approximately 58 euros. The concept of happy family menu was liked. You can decide for yourself what you get with your nasi or noodles. We had babi pangang, chicken curry and chicken pineapple. When we got home everything was unpacked and served. The nasi had raw vegetables, the noodles were barely cooked, and also had raw vegetables. Babi pangang had a great taste, the chicken curry was tasty. I personally didn't like the pineapple chicken, but the others liked it. The happy mix: mini spring rolls and curry spring rolls were fine, the chicken satay was tasty, but was it chicken? Pisang goreng was tasty, but didn't taste like plantain, used regular banana? I thought pangsit goreng was fried for too long. The chicken wings did not appeal to anyone. Prawn crackers had a good taste but were greasy. It was so nice that it all came together. Which I attribute more to the quantity that was delivered.

Happy Garden... Man man, I think it's a shame that you are leaving Assen... What a wonderful Chinese and what incredibly sweet people and above all... what delicious food... The best Chinese from Assen is disappearing... Lots of dining pleasure for the people in Rolde... Definitely worth it... And lovely people from Happy Garden... Good luck in Rolde... I will definitely come and eat sometime... I'm going to miss my Javanese nasi. ..

Had a delicious meal at Bij happy garden. In my opinion the best Chinese in Assen, quick service and high quality Chinese food.

Delicious food. We had the table buffet. Extensive and pleasant meal.

We previously had a good experience with this restaurant. But after today we won't be coming back here. The girl behind the counter seemed to be working in slow motion and was not enthusiastic/active at all, but that's besides the point. We bought a monthly menu (limited choice), we couldn't even fit in a bag of prawn crackers and when we got home (less than a 5-minute drive) the food was already cold when we put it on our plate. In short, not recommended in our opinion.

Gadogado did not look like gadogado. Limp, watery "peanut sauce". No beans, no cabbage, no prawn crackers, etc. This was the Chinese/Dutch Gadogado, according to the owner. I recommend taking it off the menu. Girl serving was very nice.

Always good food here, excellent service, always friendly

Dietary requirements perfectly arranged, everything is possible. We only pick up, it is located in a shopping center near a neighborhood, it is nicely decorated, but the people who pick up are in the same room. Partitions have been made, but still. Price is slightly higher than others.

The owner was so nice she made my day and the food was delicious. 100/10 recommend

Happy Garden is like a culinary oasis for me in Assen! The owner and staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, always ensuring I feel valued. Their service is exceptional, consistently making me feel like a cherished guest. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious options. The freshness of the ingredients truly enhances the dining experience. As Malaysian visitors, we're excited to discover the availability of Malaysian cuisine options here! I just wish I could come here every day! Definitely the best Chinese restaurant in town!

My recent visit to Happy Garden Kloosterveen was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality that set the stage for an unforgettable dining adventure. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff members ensuring every detail of our experience was perfect. The food? Simply divine! Each dish burst with flavors that danced on my taste buds, made from the freshest ingredients imaginable. What's more, the prices were incredibly reasonable, making the whole experience even sweeter. The staff and owner were incredibly friendly and welcoming, adding an extra layer of charm to an already fantastic evening. Happy Garden is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience you won't want to miss out on. I can't wait to return and dive back into their culinary wonders. Highly recommended!

The food was delicious. Friendly service

Tried it for the first time, just live in Assen and because of good reviews, went to this Chinese restaurant (pick up). Unfortunately... the food did not get higher than 2 stars: the foe yong contained eggshells, the satay ajam was really bad chicken, inedible. Nasi, spring rolls and fried banana are fine, but you can't go wrong with them. Shame. Looking again for a really good Chinese restaurant. Anyone have any tips?

The food has always been very good so far, but the young staff behind the takeaway counter is a real disaster. To stay in Chinese terms, some red pepper 🌶️ is allowed. When we got home we discovered that the red sauce from the Babi Bacon was not included and an extra bowl of sambal was not included either.

Super tasty, freshly prepared, crispy, tasty dishes. Very friendly staff. Nicely decorated, perfectly clean. Price very reasonable if you take all-you-can-eat. You can then reorder if you are still hungry. It's not a buffet, so everything is freshly prepared.

Excellent meal and quick service.

**** Update **** Improvement normal chinese restaurant Because this is the only Chinese restaurant near my mother, I tried it again and reported that I did not want any atjar tjampoer in the containers. Now the containers were just as full but without any filling. There was also a little more meat on the spring roll babipang ****end update**** Very bad Chinese restaurant. The babi pangang was half filled with .atjar tjampoer Spring roll Babi pangang had very little meat and sauce. The spring roll itself was filled almost exclusively with bean sprouts. And the price is also high I recommend everyone to choose a different restaurant

Ordered a Happy Family menu today; a very surprising dish from which we could choose was the Ta Pa Kwee; delicious in taste and tender. Everyone should try it. Staff were extremely friendly and polite. We will order again!

The food was good, could have been a bit spicier

Had dinner tonight at Happy Garden Kloosterveen. A very pleasant welcome by the owner. After the first drink, we ordered a Happy Garden Rijsttafel. Delicious fried shrimp as a starter. Really very tasty. Then the Wan Ton soup. Delicious. And the main course with 3 types of meat was really fantastic. What wonderful flavors. We enjoyed it. Then an animated conversation with the owner. We will definitely come back here. Definitely recommended.

Beautiful interior, tasty food and good service. (Was just a bit too warm inside)

Lousy. Everything is deep fried from satay to shrimp. Never seen before

Friendly staff, but the quality of the food was not everything, and according to my experiences with other Chinese people, not much for the money you pay... too bad!

Delicious freshly prepared and tasty food.

Delicious food. Nice and fresh, no overpowering fatty sauces. Normal prices. Will definitely go more often!

What a bad Chinese. Honestly, every time I try it goes wrong and it's really not edible. Should be closed!

The appearance of this restaurant corresponds to the expectations we usually have in terms of design when visiting similar companies elsewhere in new-build areas / shopping centers. (3 stars) Neat and neatly decorated. It's clean. We give the 4th star because of the quality of what the menu, or the pot, offers, the diversity of dishes from which you can choose... but especially because of the hostess who manages all this with a great degree of enthusiasm. In principle we do not give 5 stars. Nobody is perfect, right?

Met 8 personen wezen eten. Margaret was de perfecte hostess en regelde alles tot in de puntjes. Het eten was heerlijk, vooral de jieuw jin was weer top

We received a very friendly welcome and had a very tasty meal.

You will always be helped with a big smile. The shrimps are the best in the entire region :-) Beautiful tent, friendly service and prices that make Dutch people happy. Would love to come there! Thanks for the great service.

Well taken care of. Excellent food. Friendly staff.

We once celebrated my mother's birthday here, 🥰💐🎉🥂🍾🇦🇲👍😋

I was helped very well by a blonde lady behind the cash register, I got to talk to her and she is now my friend very happy with it!

I was served so well there by a blonde and friendly girl and the food was also excellent. If I am in the area again, I will definitely go there again.
