We came here with my daughter (2), and she wanted to play in the play area. However, the back door to the play area kept opening, so I didn't dare leave my daughter there alone. Children can accidentally go outside, and very young children, in particular, don't know where to go, with all the consequences that entails.

It's like Monkey Town. You have to wait ages to be helped and get your food. I also asked for Coca-Cola and got Pepsi. When I said I don't drink it, the person just walked away. And I could just pay 3.80. Later, I understood why the people who work there don't speak Dutch, only broken English. I don't like the food, it was really bad. I won't be going back.

Saturday afternoon or midday is better. In the evening, it's a disaster! Yesterday, 3 adults and 2 children made a reservation for 6:45 PM, and we were on time. When we could order, we ordered both drinks and food right away. After an hour and two requests, we finally got our drinks. Another hour later, the food finally arrived: 4 pizzas and a pasta dish. The food was good. While waiting, we saw and experienced a few things. The service was very poor and disorganized. The pizza makers worked well and quickly, much too quickly for the service staff. At one point, more than 20 plates of pizzas sat there for over 20 minutes. Later, we saw, I think, 10 pizzas being thrown in the trash. People left. The service staff acted like headless chickens (not all of them), for example, walking around with just one pizza. The structural problem is that there were too few service staff, and there's no manager to direct people and assist where needed, or to keep an eye on the team and tell them what to do. I didn't use the restrooms this time, but my girlfriend did, but they really need more attention. Cleaning once a day in such a large restaurant isn't enough. They have to make decisions when it gets to be too much, stop taking reservations for the restaurant, and perhaps stop serving food for a while. But that does require a good manager who is well-organized, knowledgeable, and has the courage to say no. I worked in service at a pizzeria for years, so I know what I'm talking about. I hope this helps improve things.

We where coming in for lunch in an empty restaurant. We where offert a menu card without a choice of lunch . So we ordered a simple pasta meal and butter garlic bread. After half an hour of waiting we had to ask the waitress what happened to our order. Apparently she forgot to inform the kitchen. The garlic butter bread was plain the pasta was cooked perfect but the it was a completely tasteless portion of pasta. Just spaghetti, oil, some fresh herbs. Some salt , some garlic and some Parmesan would have made it into a simple but tasteful lunch . After this unsatisfactory lunch we discovered a little lunch menu hidden in a box on the table with lunch dishes. Why it was not mentioned by the waiter remains a hidden mystery. We clearly stated to the waitress we came in for lunch . Disappointing experience

We still had coupons from Etos to eat here, and the food was excellent, except for the desserts. The coffee/tea machine wasn't working, which was strange. At least get a replacement. Also, when ordering desserts, the apple pie cost an extra 3 euros (which we weren't told about). So, when we mentioned this at checkout, they said they'd made a mistake and we'd still have to pay the cost? Sure, it's a small amount, but it's the principle of the matter. We'll never be back.

We ordered two pastas and one pizza. What happened? They first brought one pasta and the pizza, but the other pasta—which turned out to be long overdue—wasn't delivered for another 15 minutes. It was incredibly poorly organized. The service was completely nonexistent; the staff wouldn't even look at you, and you had to make an effort to ask for something. They simply didn't seem to care. Furthermore, there was minimal chicken, and we were mostly served a lot of dough. If I could, I would give this a minus one star. Highly recommended.

Since we hadn't been here in a while, we decided to have a pizza here, and the pizza itself was perfectly fine! But this place has really gone downhill. Service and friendliness are nowhere to be found, absolutely not accurate, and drinks had been waiting on the bar for 15 minutes (the ice cubes had almost melted), but no one felt the need to serve them. We were just chatting happily. Plates are now plastic 🤷‍♂️ completely worn out, it doesn't look good! So, if you're planning on going here, I recommend getting takeout and enjoying it at home. It was our last time here.

After arriving, we received a warm welcome. We ordered drinks and an appetizer (bruschetta with tomato, garlic, and onion). After 20 minutes, we ordered two pizzas: a Donner pizza and a Hawaiian pizza. The pizzas were completely soggy in the middle and impossible to cut into a wedge, so we messed around a bit and left the center of the plate. The portion near the edge was quite good. Ordering drinks was almost impossible because the staff was standing too far away, so we limited ourselves to one glass. We skipped dessert and asked for the bill when we paid. They asked if they had made it. We explained that the pizza was soggy. According to the waitress, she was aware of this (I don't understand serving something you know isn't good). It was a bad batch of pizza dough. Happy Italy Spijkenisse, we won't be back.

A few screaming children, but that's more the parents' fault than the company's. They've even created a spacious, well-separated play area with a ball pit. That would be the envy of many restaurants. The service is attentive, but with the restaurant only half full, the kitchen was slow. The bruschetta was tasty but very soggy, and the crouton it was served on (toasted baguette) was clearly too hard. The salad verdure didn't come with all the promised grilled vegetables. For example, the grilled eggplant (which we were told would be included in the salad) was missing, as was the balsamic vinegar. The pasta pollo e funghi was good. A bit more pepper would have been nice, but thankfully, it's on the table. I added some Parmesan myself, which made it even better. The Birra Moretti was excellent and deliciously cold. All in all, a reasonable experience, but it could definitely be better.

Happy Italy Spijkenisse!!, anything but happy. What a mess! It started with the menu, damn it, it was disgusting. Then they brought the wrong drinks. The sandwich with spreads was also laughably small. After that, we asked for an extra sandwich since we still had some leftover. They took everything away, and we said we wanted to keep the spreads. All we got was a dry sandwich, and our spreads were thrown away. I ordered a pizza with extra döner. Well, if this is your pizza with extra döner, I wonder what it's like normally. There was hardly any döner. And then there's the play area for the kids, which is nice and safe, with all those empty glass bottles that any child can easily grab. And if you complain, they laugh at you. In short, a place run by a bunch of clowns!!! Save yourself the trouble and go to a real Italian restaurant or buy a frozen pizza from the supermarket. You'll have an even better atmosphere than in this lousy place. Never again!!!

Terrible service. Customer service is non-existent. We went to our table at 6:15. We waited a long time to order, and then waited another long time for pizza. Tables around us were helped earlier, despite being later. At 8:15, we were still waiting for our ice cream. We finally spoke to the manager, who certainly didn't act like one. When I complained about how long we'd waited for our food and were now waiting a long time for dessert, he reacted very unprofessionally. He didn't apologize, but became defensive. We finally paid without our ice cream being served. Never again "Happy Italy"

I had already read the reviews, so low expectations, atmosphere and style of the restaurant looks nice. When entering there was a strange smell, something like cleaning agent with something else, I couldn't place it right away. When sitting down at the table, the drink wasn't immediately taken, that was a bit strange. The menu was clear. I just had a pizza. Was a bit sour, the cheese blobs were more cheese sauce than real cheese and the toppings came from a can (or so it seems). But it was edible, but fine for fast food. The food was brought to the table quickly. Others at the table had pasta, no one thought it was good pasta, mainly cooked too long, sauce was not cooked through so watery and for 1 there was a very nasty aftertaste to the food, someone else at the table had tasted it too and had exactly the same. Something that was also striking was that there were 2 children walking around with their upper bodies bare, very strange in a restaurant (even though it is not a nice place) dress your children normally and teach them to keep their clothes on when you go out to eat. Staff did not say anything about it either. Anyways, we now have the experience ourselves. :)

Not at all satisfied with yesterday's food. Among other things, very hard mushrooms in the pasta funghi. A carpaccio salad that was not tasty at all because there was a lot of truffle mayonnaise on it. Other pasta had dried tomatoes in it that were out of date. We went home feeling sick. For us this was the last time. Bad service, they don't come by and you have to keep asking them for drinks or food.

We come here regularly because our kids absolutely love the play corner, but after today it was the last time. It's getting worse here by the day. Neatly reserved at 8 but arrived fifteen minutes earlier which was no problem, we could immediately choose a spot because it's getting quieter in the tent these days. After sitting at the table for more than 25 minutes, we were asked if we wanted to have a drink "already". We and also other tables had this problem that they had to wait a long time We indicated what we wanted to drink, after which she stared into space a bit, so I asked for the menu myself because she didn't think of that herself. Then we gave the order what we wanted to eat and immediately ordered extra drinks (the first round of drinks had still not been served) because I am familiar with the poor service when it comes to asking if we wanted something else to drink / and if everything was to our liking. After waiting for quite a while, we finally asked where the drinks were. (We've been sitting for an hour now) and then got it after 5 minutes. Then another half hour later we got the message that they're not going to serve food anymore because there's a glitch in the system, even though I had already ordered the food an hour before. I then ask for some kind of compensation or some kind of discount, because of the ridiculously long wait and with hungry kids who are getting more and more grumpy. where I was told that I should just write to customer care for such matters and that she (the manager) couldn't do anything for me at that moment. Then maybe I'm the sourpuss, but then I'd rather write a review to prevent people from going here. Because this isn't the first time that the staff here finds it more fun with each other and on the phones than helping new tables When you make eye contact with the staff, it seems as if they are deliberately ignoring you and looking away. The wait for the food takes an average of an hour or more regardless of whether it is quiet or busy After-sales service does not exist such as asking if everything is to your liking / extra drinks desserts. Portions / price ratio is completely wrong. Despite the fact that it is a franchise, 3 shrimps in your pasta seems a bit meager to me. Too bad, but for us it is the last time here and I strongly advise others not to go here. And that While it could be very good. As I have experienced at other locations.

Together with my daughter I thought we would have a nice meal at H Italy. Unfortunately it wasn't all that happy. The lady who helped us to our table had no empathy at all. She said 'I only have a high table' and I asked if that was handy with a 3 year old child. Her response was 'I have no idea, you have to decide that for yourself'. This showed me total disinterest (first impression. Then I asked if red pepper could be added instead of mushrooms. The ladies admitted twice that this was not possible and that it would be charged as an 'extra'. My idea was: it is not an 'extra' but 'instead of'. I do not ask AND/AND. They did not agree with this and could not be service-oriented in this. Which I found very strange because the price does not decrease if a vegetable item is left out. A great! Then I thought this makes no sense at all because the dishes are made a la minute, whereby the chef himself can add and remove things from a dish. It is not that the dishes are ready-made and you cannot take anything out of them. So I rudely asked another lady again who thought it was strange that it would not be possible. Then she indicated that she would arrange it for me. Within a few seconds I received raw paprika. What a great woman she was! I was not at all interested in the vegetables but purely in the service, which can become a non-service-oriented moment for something so small. In the end you are already quite irritated as a guest. But all's well that ends well: this lady certainly contributed to our mother and daughter evening being 'half' successful.

Tried a Happy Italy again after a long time. How sorry I was. Even though we had made a reservation, we waited in line for a table for over fifteen minutes. When we were finally seated, we had to wait 20 minutes before we even saw someone who we could talk to about the fact that we wanted to order something. The table next to us had been waiting for their ice creams for an hour. Finally ordered from someone who didn't even say hello and stayed at the end of the table so we had to practically shout to place the order. The pizzas arrived after 20 minutes, which wasn't too bad, but we didn't have any drinks yet. Cutlery was a fork and spoon. I looked in the cutlery tray myself, but it was empty, as the table was completely covered with dirty dishes, less than a meter from our table. Walked somewhere else to ask, also on. I asked him somewhere and he would arrange it, but in the meantime I'll just eat with my hands. Halfway through the pizza the drinks finally arrived. Many people were looking around looking for staff or where their ice cream was. It wasn't crazy busy, but there was just too few well-trained staff. A manager who manages things better would be useful. And if you can't handle it, just close part of it, this was a real drama and therefore not worth repeating. It seems to me that if something is not done about this soon, things will go downhill very quickly!

Staffing levels cannot handle moderate crowds. More than an hour of waiting time and having to speak to staff several times about both meal and drinks. Strangely enough, we first received no knives, then wooden knives and finally after asking for the second time, normal cutlery. Tables are not cleared, looks messy. Young staff do their best, probably lacking experienced management.

This suggests a structural issue in the service. Everything was slow: from the drinks to the food, and everything in between. Made a reservation this morning for tonight, only then saw all the bad reviews..... We didn't notice anything about that tonight, had to wait less than a minute for a table upon arrival. We were able to order drinks within 5 minutes! Shortly afterwards the 2 delicious pizzas and 3 types of pasta arrived. Everything was hot, tasted great and it was a container full! Very friendly waitress, so I really don't understand the bad reviews at all. We had a delicious meal with friendly service!

I went yesterday, it was a very nice restaurant but the service was very bad. When we arrived we had to wait 10 minutes to be taken to the table because the employees just walked by and left you standing. Well in the end everything was fine at the table, we ordered drinks, then starter and dessert. Starter was on the table for 2 minutes, just finished 2 bites and the main course was put down and was getting cold. Well okay weird but okay don't ruin it. Didn't get a knife to cut the carpaccio with a spoon? Also no chance to ask for a knife as they didn't even come close to the table and just looked at you sullenly and quickly walked away. Well, not once was we asked if we wanted something to drink. Even story, there was no one around to ask. The starter plates were also left standing for the entire meal and were not picked up even though you saw the employees looking at them. Ultimately, after the main course, we waited more than half an hour for someone to come nearby, so we asked for a doggie bag, and the containers were piled on the table to put it in ourselves, okay, fine, then we went to order ice cream, then the gentleman asks what flavor we want but looks completely the other way, so we didn't know whether they were talking to us or someone else. Ultimately going to someone for the bill is not a pleasant day. I was very disappointed because I thought the restaurant was very beautiful and inviting, but the service was very poor. ice cream was tasty

Had a children's party here last week. Children were allowed to choose from 2 types of pizza. Was different a few years ago and much more fun, so it was a disappointment for the children. They expected to be able to decorate their pizza themselves again. When I made the reservation I also asked if the birthday boy or girl could put his pizza in the oven, that was no problem. Only when we were there we suddenly got all the pizza at the table. We opted for 15 euros per person because they would decorate it, etc. Nice tablecloth, etc. The table was only half covered. Dress was too short. Ordered 2 more pizzas for adults. 1 of them was burnt on the bottom so had to send it back. One nice thing was the ice cream cake. But even then you got it without a serving spoon and had to ask for it. Service: this was also disappointing. Staff always sat at one table, probably a family member. Not once did they ask us if everything was to our liking. I wouldn't recommend Happy Italy to my group of friends. Was the last time for us.

Last weekend I placed a large order at Happy Italy Spijkenisse via UberEats for 8 people for a birthday. However, upon delivery it turned out that 2 pizzas had not been given to the delivery person. We then contacted Happy Italy Spijkenisse to verify what went wrong and how to solve it. We received a rude, super unfriendly lady on the phone from the head office, who indicated that she could not do anything for us because the delivery person had not taken the entire order with him. So we had to place a new order and we were not even offered an apology or a solution/compensation. Happy Italy easily hides behind the Ubereats delivery service so that they do not have to take any compensation or responsibility themselves, even though it was not the fault of the delivery person. After all, he had not received the complete order. In the end we had to drive to the branch ourselves to pick up the 2 missing pizzas and they were delivered completely cold. No customer friendliness or service whatsoever! Really downright bad! Never again!

Toen we aankwamen hebben we lang moeten wachten voor we werden geholpen en toen we eenmaal zaten was deze wachttijd ook voordat we de kaart kregen. Vrouwentoilet was verstopt, waardoor ik bij het invalidentoilet moest. Deze deur ging niet op slot, het wc papier was op en het was erg vies. Het eten was prima maar erg zout. De bediening kwam niet meer langs om te vragen hoe het smaakte of voor een nieuw rondje drinken waardoor we maar 1x hebben kunnen bestellen. De bediening was emotie loos en niet heel vriendelijk en de sfeer in het restaurant was ver te zoeken. Kom hier nooit meer, erg slecht.

Everything went well up to and including taking the order. 45 minutes later we had our starters which I got the feeling no one had bothered to bring to our table 15 minutes later we were asked casually if everything had tasted good and if we wanted the bill!? I think I still have to get a main course, which was suddenly on the table in 2 minutes, cold, that is. But I brought a box with me because I'm not going to eat cold food, drink a drink and then wake up the next day with a wound on the corner of my mouth and after checking, yes, a cold sore and before you ask, no, I've never had this before! So we almost didn't go to Happy Italy Spijkenisse purely because of the negative reviews on Google. It's a shame that people say the negative more often than the positive. Normally we never actually read these. Finally went. The restaurant has a nice appearance and looks inviting. Had to wait a while at the entrance, but not long enough to say anything. We were assigned a table that was quickly covered with a cloth, but it was fine. The floor was already a bit dirty. We had made a reservation at a quarter to 6. Friendly staff, except for 1 lady (who really didn't look at you), the order was taken quickly and we were asked several times if everything was to your liking. The order was also served quickly. We were a party of 5 and had pizza and pasta, everything looked and tasted great. We had the menu via Socialdeal. With an ice cream afterward. It's nice that there is so much choice of ice cream! All in all a great evening with good food and fun entertainment for the kids in the "ball pit".

Helaas zeer teleurstellend! Pizza’s komen niet tegelijk! Toen iedereen al klaar was kwam de laatste pizza pas . Bediening gaf de pizza over de tafel heen aan , stootte een fles en glas bier om wat over de kleding heen kwam. Geen excuses , pas na aanspreken werd met zucht een nieuw pilsje gebracht. Toiletten hij dames waren verstopt , drollen dreven rond… Sorry , hier nooooiiiitttt meer heen! .

The pizza and pasta have no taste and every time I order my favorite pizza something is missing. This time the chicken was very small and not tasty, even the pasta has no taste. As for the desserts, I ordered a piece of chocolate cake and they brought me the same cake that is sold at Albert Hein for 8 euros, and this small piece costs 6 euros. I ordered a cold coffee drink. I once ate such a pizza somewhere else and it was surprisingly tasty. This one was surprisingly...not tasty. Normally always good experiences at Happy Italy branches. For example, I regularly visited Arnhem and 2 locations in Rotterdam. Unfortunately, this positive experience could not be continued in Spijkenisse. This location is grossly underperforming. Especially with the Papagallo restaurant around the corner, you can expect a strong competitor. Nothing could be further from the truth. Upon arrival we were allowed to choose a table ourselves. Although there were many empty tables, there was not a clean table in sight. We walked further and further to the back and finally opted for the least dirty table. Fortunately, this was eventually cleaned upon request. We then ordered our food and drinks. The mango ice tea had virtually no taste. The mango balls that were in it were tasty and a very necessary addition. My partner's pizza was fine. My pasta had spoiled mushrooms which you really couldn't serve as a restaurant. They were completely tasteless and completely soft. The texture was rubber. I have never experienced mushrooms of this quality. I don't even understand how you can prepare it this way. What also really bothered us is that during the 2 hours we were here, someone only walked by 3 times. We waited 30 minutes to order dessert. This only worked because we called an employee who had been chatting with a colleague for 15 minutes further away. We were never asked if we wanted something to drink or if everything was to our liking. Only immediately upon arrival. Finally, something went wrong with the bill. Fortunately, this was corrected at a later time via customer service. A change in management is clearly needed here. Someone needs to come in to take care of the quality of the food and ensure that employees do their jobs. You cannot receive your guests with dirty tables, spoiled food and then chat with each other instead of walking past the tables to do your work. Hopefully the quality here will change in the future to what other Happy Italy branches offer. Until then I would advise against a visit here and for a little extra money go to Papagallo around the corner.

If this is your franchise, you should be ashamed of yourself. When you enter, the first thing that welcomes you is the smell of baby poop. The closer you go to the play area, the more it smells like full diapers. To say the toilets are filthy is an understatement. Our children asked if it was a shelter for the homeless. About the food: we didn't have it because it lasted and lasted. We waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for the order and asked an employee three times where it was. Three times no one has come back with feedback or expected time to dinner. After 1 hour and 10 minutes we announced that we were planning to leave. Couldn't get an excuse from that. We said on our own that we were not going to pay for the drinks. That didn't occur to anyone there. The excuse was that it was too busy, but not even 60 percent of the tables were occupied. The tables that were occupied only had irritated people sitting there because of the service. Let's not talk about the temperature: all the full diapers were simmering nicely. An old people's home with incontinent people is no good. The bubble tea was the only thing that was good. Let's end on a positive note.

I just read an article in the newspaper. A restaurant had reportedly charged €2.50 for an extra plate and €2.50 for extra cutlery for two guests who wanted to share a dish. It immediately reminded me of the evening I visited a friend on Maasboulevard near La Vista. We'd been talking for so long, until, to our surprise, it was suddenly 6:30. My friend suggested we go to La Vista for dinner because we didn't feel like cooking anymore. I'm 71 and she's 85. We asked if we could share a pizza, as they're always way too big for us. It was no problem at all! Kudos to this restaurant and its service!
