Restaurant La Vista in Schenkel

I just read an article in the newspaper. A restaurant had reportedly charged €2.50 for an extra plate and €2.50 for extra cutlery for two guests who wanted to share a dish. It immediately reminded me of the evening I visited a friend on Maasboulevard near La Vista. We'd been talking for so long, until, to our surprise, it was suddenly 6:30. My friend suggested we go to La Vista for dinner because we didn't feel like cooking anymore. I'm 71 and she's 85. We asked if we could share a pizza, as they're always way too big for us. It was no problem at all! Kudos to this restaurant and its service!

Delicious pizza for a reasonable price with friendly service

Another delicious meal! This time, bruschetta and gamberoni were the starters—so delicious! The main course was pizza "Formaggi di Capri" and "Pasta Gamberoni." Enjoyed with a delicious Pinot Grigio. Perfect!

The food was delicious. The service was very friendly but a bit chaotic. It was a shame that one of the four pizzas arrived almost 10 minutes later than the others.

Ordered in. Lasagna was sold out. Went for spaghetti bolognese but no cheese. This is mediocre. Owner is a horrible person, order somewhere else.

I've been here for the umpteenth time. I was early, so it wasn't very pleasant yet. Prices are (fortunately) reasonable, and the service is quick. The food is good quality. The afogato is a disappointment, though. The scoop of ice cream is really a bit too small for the dish. After all, it's a dessert, not a coffee with ice cream. Otherwise, everything was great, as always.

Been eating several times but recently had it delivered on a Saturday.. super tasty pizza calzone and tiramisu afterwards.. the rest of the family would have enjoyed it too. A bit more expensive than e.g. Papagallo but that certainly pays off in the quality of the food.

Today received the umpteenth wrong order. A simple order seems to be processed with difficulty. Something is very wrong with the ordering system there. For us the last time there. Time between order and delivery two hours !!! Delivery lady not to blame by the way !!

Zoals altijd weer heerlijk gegeten en ook zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam geholpen door de eigenaar. Pizza was bedekt met alleen verse ingrediënten, pasta’s zeer smaakvol en de paninis waren vers gebakken van pizza deeg en gevuld met verse groenten. Zelfs de koffie smaakte zoals koffie zou moeten smaken . Kortom een heerlijk familie diner.

Ordered again after a while. Unfortunately it was not to your liking, it is becoming less and less. It contains almost nothing, lots of pasta and a single shrimp. The red peppers in the pasta could also be counted on one hand. Food is bland and has no taste. Very unfortunate, because we were so looking forward to it. You pay a lot for nothing.

A week ago I celebrated my brother-in-law's 50th birthday here with 9 people. Never been here before but had a delicious pizza calzone full of crispy vegetables, ham, salami, cheese and tasty sauce, different pastas, tasty desserts, definitely worth a visit. Also had it delivered yesterday, super fast and very hot.

The four of us had a nice evening out. There was an error when taking the order. A 4 cheese pizza was ordered and a 4 cheese pasta was served. When serving the coffee, my daughter got an overturned cup of hot coffee on her clothes. After several apologies, the waiter stammered that the coffee was on the house. Everything was included in the bill at checkout. The salmon pasta was also not good, when I got home my wife felt nauseous and had to throw up everything. What do you mean, a nice evening????

Great business! Ate a pasta yesterday and it was great again. You will keep coming back here and no other fancier Pizzaria from Spijkenisse or 'Happy' can match this.

Here you can have a good bite to eat. It is not a star restaurant. But the food is tasty and affordable. The atmosphere is good, the staff is nice. And the seats are good. The location is of course also beautiful, with a view of De Maas. Only a parking space took some time to find. But I will definitely come back here.

I always enjoy coming to this restaurant (preferably twice a week 😊). The food is tasty, of good quality (and actually too much of it), the owners are super friendly and the atmosphere is casual and nice and informal. Don't expect culinary delights, but count on no-nonsense and pure. You can come here for a nice long meal or just a quick meal!

Went again last week after a long time. Upon arrival, the table was not yet prepared and we had to ask for the table to be cleaned. Bruschetta starter is becoming less and less available. Where you normally got 3 rolls, now there are only 2. Taste is still excellent. Had pizza as a main course, this was the biggest disappointment. Way too much cheese on the pizza, and no, I didn't have 4 cheeses. Too bad, the taste was otherwise fine. When paying, there was something on the receipt that was not ordered. An unfortunately somewhat lesser experience than what we are used to. Could we pay a little more attention to the quality?

Het personeel was heel gezellig, vooral de grapjes van het meisje met de beugel konden we zeer waarderen! De pizza’s werden door iedereen heerlijk gevonden en aan speciale verzoeken werd gehoor gegeven. Kortom top dit restaurant! Voor de fooi is een potje waar contant geld in kan, dat heeft niet iedereen (voldoende) op zak dus dat kunnen jullie daardoor mislopen…..

We got there around 2:30 PM. Nice restaurant, service was ok: 1 man was busy with everything: taking orders, running the kitchen and also serving food. 2 soft drinks, then ordered 2x Al Forno. Food was smelly, it was tasteless. I hadn't even finished half my bowl when I had to run to the bathroom one more time until my soda was gone. Thursday afternoon about 10 times. 2 days of diarrhea. Had terrible nights. I suffered from intestinal cramps until Monday. So we definitely won't be going back! For €42. Very bad experience!

We come here regularly with the whole family. We come with a group of around 25 people and they don't shy away from that. We always order from a menu, which is very well organised! You will then receive an appetizer, pasta, pizza and dessert. The food is super tasty and the service is super good. We love coming here!

Wij waren rond 14.30 er. Leuke restaurant, bediening was ok: 1 man was bezig met alles: orders opgenomen, keuken gerund en ook eten geserveerd. 2 frisdranken, daarna 2x Al Forno besteld. Eten stonk, het was smaakloos. Ik was niet eens met mijn half schaal bezig, toen ik al naar de wc moest rennen, daar nog 1x tot mijn frisdrank op was. Gisterenmiddag ongeveer 10x, vreselije nacht gehad. Vandaag is mijn 2e dag met diarree. Dus wij gaan zeker niet terug! Voor €42. Heel slechte ervaring!

Food was delicious! Super attentive ladies in the service. One of the ladies thought along well. I am vegan with an oil intolerance. Service came with good options that were not on the menu and said that it was possible to add tomato sauce to the pasta instead of cream sauce (not oil-based). Owner was busy coordinating, but was very nice. Starters arrived quickly. All the food ordered arrived quickly despite the kitchen being busy due to deliveries and tables in the restaurant. The only negative had not so much to do with the restaurant, but with the guests. Children were running around on the terrace, screaming and hanging on the parasol for at least 90 minutes. It amazes me that many parents think it's normal to let your kids run around screaming in a restaurant. That aside, it's really dangerous to let your kids run around. If the waiter is carrying hot soup or tea and the children run into her, you will end up with third-degree burns and glass in your body. Obviously the parents would blame the restaurant for this and not their own children. You raise children and teach them to behave in a restaurant. You are not the only one who eats here and other guests are affected by it. You play after dinner and certainly not in a restaurant. Dogs are only welcome on the terrace. The dog is politely asked if he or she can have a bowl of water to drink.

My second experience at this restaurant, I had a nice meal, but when I got home I got a terrible stomach ache and had severe diarrhea and had to throw up. My intestines and stomach react if something has not been hygienic. When I told my son he said he had eaten here twice and had exactly the same thing. What a shame, because the staff is very nice and the food tasted great at first... until we got home.

Great cozy delicious food for an affordable price

Als je ooit in Italië bent geweest kan je dit geen pizza's noemen. Deeg is taai wat luchtig hoort te zijn. De indeling van het restaurant is ook niet bepaald gezellig. Een grote balzaal zonder sfeer. Na 21u is het ook zo goed als leeg. Zegt genoeg denk ik.

Although I rarely give 5 stars, I think La Vista deserves it. The food was great and so was the hospitality and service. The decor could be a bit more cozy, but the location makes up for that. We will definitely go back.

After telephone contact, a subsequent delivery took place with sincere apologies and later in the evening another phone call and apologies again! Drama. Van te voren gevraagd of carbonara met uitgebakken spekjes kon, anders lust ik het niet. Werd bevestigd. Toen het geserveerd werd zat de spek vol vet en was het een vette opgewarmde kleffe hap. Gastvrouw kwam half uur later vragen of het niet smaakte dus ik uitgelegd. Toen bleek dat eten smiddags al bereid was ivm privé omstandigheden en meisje dit niet had mogen beloven. Ik had gegeten en gedronken... ze bood wel aan of ik iets anders wilde maar nee... moesten gewoon alles betalen. Nooit meer!!

Usually get food here on Fridays, call in advance and it is always ready on time. Delivering in denunciations is just a bit too far, often hearing that they don't do this. Only point for improvement is to purchase more often. Keep it up I would say!

We ate there with the entire family, 16 people, everything was great, no one had to wait, delicious dishes and super friendly and neat service, warm atmosphere and we all enjoyed it immensely.

We ordered 4 calzones at 17:30 and they came at 19:45 after two times call. The calzones were not tasty. The vegetables inside were uncooked and they dripped a lot of juice so the dough became wet and not pleasant in the mouth. The good thing was that at least they brought us some sweet as a gift.

5 stars for the super friendly staff and dishes ordered. Since the dishes we ordered were pasta la vista (original with tomato sauce), I wanted it with cream sauce and extra provelone cheese and the pasta crema fungi in which we wanted chicken. The Sauvignon house wine was a tasty sloppy wine. The atmosphere was ok, not really a wow effect upon entering, but hey, you make it yourself and we are more concerned with the quality of the food and our dishes were super delicious!
