Harvey Amsterdam in Middenmeer

I had a wonderful experience at Harvey, first as a costumer, then as an employee and I can happily say that this is one of my top 3 spots in Amsterdam!

This place is a gem! The cutest decor, and the most beautiful selection of cakes, cookies, and pastries–all in in a gorgeous array under glass jars and cases so it feels like the most charming, old-fashioned Parisian cafe when you walk inside. The staff are friendly, especially Clara, the head chef and patissiere! Her food is all amazing and they change the menu seasonally. Also they usually have gluten-free bread available. There are a lot of neighborhood regulars (including myself) and families and dogs. Pro tip: book the high tea (you need to reserve in advance) because it's the best in the city!

I came here with a few friends to grab some coffee and try out the wide variety of snacks this place is known for and honestly, they did not disappoint! The snacks and cakes were absolutely delicious. I’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone with a sweet tooth! ❤️🍰☕️

Harvey in Amsterdam is a cozy coffee shop with a relaxed atmosphere. I had a cup of coffee there, and it was excellent. A nice place to unwind or work in peace.

It's good, but you have to be flexible with them. This is the second time I've been, and both times I've been told there's no breakfast (I arrive before 3 pm). The service isn't very pleasant. We arrive: no breakfast, no more chai latte, no smoothies. They tell me I can take the cakes from the display case. So I choose the cheesecake; apparently, it's not ready (it was 10:30 am and it was in the display case). I finally choose two slices (not exactly huge) of other cakes and a fresh juice = 18 euros! Later, I see they're serving pancakes (pancakes are on the breakfast menu). If they had told me, I could have waited a bit, but the waiter didn't seem to have much to do since everything I wanted wasn't available (he could have given me information on when I could get breakfast, for example).

A nice place, good coffee and cakes, but lately the cakes inside are often still frozen...

A lovely little place with excellent service, delicious coffee, and delicious pastries. We regularly bring our little one, and she's always spoiled with cuddles and attention. It sometimes feels like our second home!

The staff was super friendly and the new Italian-Style Amaretti cookies are incredible!

It's an incredible place. The coffee was 5-star and super affordable. The staff are very friendly and speak several languages. The food is delicious and affordable. I recommend this place for breakfast and lunch.

Very nice cafe for a quick brake during our bike tour. There is so much good choices in cake and cookies here! Difficult to make a choice. There is no table service unfortunately, but I did get a new drink when I accidently tipped mine by my own faulto that was very kind.

NICE SELECTION, LIKED THE PASTRIES, matcha was ☹️ The pastries were eye catching, tried the: - pistache really felt like a dubai chocolate - mixed berries was v fresh but not really my taste

Great coffee but in very small cups. Grumpy waitress. Plain croissant for €3.50. Tap water costs money.

Friendly service and amazing atmosphere (way above most cafes in Amsterdam). The coffee was disappointing though. Evidently, filter coffee is not a priority (shame, but perhaps understandable).

Around half past eight we went here for breakfast. You are greeted kindly by the bartender. The display case with treats for coffee greets you when you enter. Compact choice for breakfast. I took the yoghurt with granola and fresh fruit myself. Delicious granola. Nice cosy places to have a coffee with two people. There is also the option for coffee to go. The atmosphere in the shop is very pleasant, nicely decorated.

Very good food and iced matcha. Many options. Only not everyone who works here is very friendly. Furthermore, especially the sandwiches are very expensive…

The food is fantastic, you have to order at the bar for the prices that are asked you can expect table service. In addition, it is not mentioned anywhere that they charge 0.25 cents per pin transaction which is bizarre in this day and age.

Unfortunately, after 35 minutes I found out that the order had not been passed on to the kitchen. Not the first time this has happened. The price/quality for the coffee must improve significantly, but it seems to have only decreased since switching to other beans. Is coffee more expensive than if you drink it there? Foreign. Food is generally fine.

It is a nice place to have a coffee and something sweet. People are nice 😊 Sometimes it gets super busy and you need to wait for a while… but in general is good. You can use your laptop during weekdays but the temperature is always a bit too much warm.

Smashing wee bakery that I happened to stumble across on the maps! Very friendly staff who did not mind my horrendous pronounciation of some interesting tea, and also really appreciated the honest opinion, saying that the tea I picked was in fact bad. Instead got a lovely bottle of lemonade, a perfectly frothed cappuccino, a slice of blueberry cake and poppy seed cake. Yet to try the cakes yet (note to self update when eaten, and not locked in the janitors closet) but big portions and my eyes told me they were delicious! Would heavily recommend for a chill coffee or possibly freelance working. Right in the heart of a lovely neighbourhood close even to a petting zoo! Enjoy Edit: went and tried the baked goods, both were absolutely fantastic, really delicious blueberry cake but the poppy cake stole the show! Wow that’s class

Coffees and pastries are very good! A little bit expensive though. The atmosphere is great, peaceful and good decoration. It's also possible to work with computers every day except Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Unsatisfied with the staff and service! She was welcoming at first but not after we made the order; Maybe because I pressed no tip at payment!! The cappuccinos were brought with spills around them, not even a plate under! She put them on the table and wiped the cup with her hand! (What's the problem with napkin) The smoothie we ordered was an unfilled glass. We asked her to fill it out, but she said we didn't have anymore, so she took it away and gave us the smoothie money back. We wondered why something that was not fully available was ordered, or at least she told us when he brought the order. If this is not a disregard for the quality of orders and customer service, then what is? Our experience there was unpleasant, and we won't return again.

Wow, what an aesthetically pleasing place! Also, they make the most creamy, fluffy and at the same time dense vegan chocolate cake. To die for.

The staff is really unfriendly! Twice now I've had the man behind the bar be unfriendly. They can still learn something from hospitality in the catering industry. We hadn't even ordered yet and then the man rudely told us that we had to sit somewhere else with our laptop. We just wanted to have a coffee and some lunch. Idk, we also did some work in the meantime. We did not have lunch because of the unfriendliness and left after half an hour. It's a shame that they react like that, because the tent's reaction is wrong. We didn't intend to stay all day. In addition, the prices are really expensive and you have to pay extra if you do take away.

What a nice tent, eh? We had lunch there with the group. It is wise to make a reservation, because it is not very big. The food is really fantastic, highly recommended! Only the acoustics are a bit of a downside, you can't hear each other well when it's busy.

We have been going to Harvey’s for a while now, but unfortunately the staff has been rude to us on multiple occasions :( There are several instances of this, and we find this very unfortunate because the food & atmosphere of Harvey’s is very good.

Went to Harvey with friends last Saturday around 12 noon, what a special experience, everything is correct, very good price quality, cozy and friendly service, great atmosphere, we were helped quickly, something to recommend for breakfast or lunch. Well done to you all.

You order at the counter, you pick up your own food, you get your own cutlery, and you get your own water. Yet, you are prompted for 10%-25% tip when paying; what? On top of this, the guy at the bar (long hair, maybe American?) passive-aggressively sighs or tuts when you press no tip, before proceeding to prepare your order with as much disinterest as he can muster.

A cafeteria with an offer of magnificently made homemade cakes, which invites you to a calm breakfast and a good coffee. Top quality manufacturing. To include in places to repeat.

Beautiful place that attracted me as I drove past on a sunny Saturday morning. Small clear terrace outside. No service(?), order inside. Ordering a Coke was not possible, there is none. Tonic ditto. Then a spa red with an espresso. Espresso had a good strong taste but lukewarm. All in all a missed opportunity, a shame.

You can sit outside very comfortably. The food wasn't very tasty, but it was fine! The coffee was quite strong, we had a cappuccino and an iced latte.

One of my favourites for a quick matcha and cappuccino! The staff are also super adorable, even when you're the first customer at the door at 8am 😆🍵☕️😌

Best cafe in Amsterdam. Almost everything is homemade and the employees are almost as good as the food. One point of attention though; Could the employees at the bar work a little more and be a little less sociable? All in all; 5/5!

I went to Harvey for breakfast. I didn't know scrambled eggs could taste so good! I got them with salmon which was fresh and tasty. They also probably have one of the best cappuccinos in the area.
