Haven 12 in Wijk 00 Waalwijk

4 stars Haven 12 is stylish in a way that you don't trust when you're from Waalwijk. Ceilings with beams, plants that are better cared for than you are, and chairs that whisper: "Stay seated for a while, even if you don't know why." Jochem came in wearing a beige coat that bore too much history. His wheelchair didn't squeak, but he didn't seem to feel it anymore either. "That thing is a concept," he said, leaning against a wall as if he wanted to stick himself to it. We were sitting right by the window. Harm and Els were further away, candlelight reflecting in their glasses. They were laughing too loudly, like people do when they want to prove that they can still touch each other without feeling anything. Jochem didn't order anything. He looked at the menu as if it were a psychological test. "Everything here is composed," he whispered. "Just like me. Only here they are honest about the ingredients." When I opened an oyster for him, he looked not at the plate, but at my hands. “Even your movements sound like loss,” he said. Then he asked if the wine was organic. No one answered. At dessert – a scoop of something with lavender – he left the table without paying. “I tasted enough,” he said, “but didn’t swallow anything.” Good business. Beautiful food. But sometimes someone makes a scream out of a napkin.

The food was great. Attention from service was sublime. However, the background music was too much in the foreground after Ff paid attention to a birthday visitor. As a result, the volume of the background music was distorted and uncomfortably loud. This can be solved for next to nothing and with simple technology. Investing in this does not seem to be a problem for such a restaurant. Top chef.

Delicious dishes, unfortunately nothing for children

Very tasty meal. Due to work we couldn't have dinner until 8:30 PM and this was no problem. The dinner was extremely well organized with great service and good advice. It was difficult to choose from all the goodies, so she provided a bit of everything, with the main course, 2 rounds of small dishes of meat/fish and a full tasting of the starters. Even though the kitchen was almost clean at 10:30 PM, a dessert was also made for us. Cheers! And Thank you!

Food was tasty, nice boy upon arrival. Asked if the music could be a little quieter (a lot of noise). This was done. 15 minutes later the music was turned up again

We had an unforgettable party at Haven 12 in the atmospheric Bambudda bar. The management helped us tremendously with the arrangements for that evening. Great service and delicious finger foods combined with a top ambiance. A party you will never forget!!

Me and my husband had a fantastic meal there and were even given another table because where we were sitting was not comfortable for us. Food was super tasty and staff very friendly, nice young team. If you want to eat and experience something special, I would definitely try here. We will definitely come back again.

We had our wedding here last Friday, June 7, 2024. And it was, in a word, fantastic! Haven12 took our wishes very seriously, are flexible and really want to make it a beautiful day! An exception in terms of food is also no problem and they are transparent and honest in advance about the costs. We had the ceremony and drinks on the terrace, dinner in the restaurant and the party in the Bambuddha room. We thought this fit perfectly with the different phases of our wedding. The service is really good and they are nice, friendly people who you can tell enjoy their work! The food is delicious and fresh. During the party, the staff also ensured that no one was left wanting for anything! We had a beautiful day. And Haven12 has certainly taken care of that!

Mediocre quality and price-quality ratio is not ok. The lettuce we received was no longer good at the bottom and there was clearly something wrong with the steak tartare. They solved this nicely by immediately making a new one. Meat is ridiculously expensive here, just like wine. A tournedos costs 35 euros. For that money you don't get fries or anything like that. I also found it very strange that when you come for dinner, you first see the cocktail menu. We arrived at 630 and then you just expect the dinner menu. Service itself was ok (but not special). Wine is of good quality, but a white wine for 7.50 euros is very expensive. In short, food is decent but the price is much higher than average.

As always, we had a delicious meal at Haven12. Food, Service and atmosphere continues to maintain its excellent quality.

Saturday February 3, 2024 I ate at Haven 12 with my wife for the first time. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Due to limited portions/quantities, we were able to tell you this and ask what the options are. This was answered with full understanding and we could either dine shared or even order half portions. In the end we shared several delicious dishes. (The wasabi served in a piece of cucumber is a winner!!) Top evening and experience. The atmosphere and decoration of the restaurant has been thought of in every corner. The food is good but nothing special. Cocktails are made well. The staff is young but neat. There are no mints at the end of the bill and the lady gave us a nice chocolate!

Second chance for Haven12 today. Last week I didn't like the meat (bavette) at all. Today the Chateaubriand and it was truly EXCELLENT. Asked for medium rare cooking and that was it. Excellent experience. Leo, don't worry, we'll be back

The food was amazing. Normally, the menu is simple, but they added a little more to it. It was a mix of Asian and brasserie. You had your steaks and burger, but also fish. But in the appetisers you could have a sushi taster, it was delicious and so was the lamb. But the sauce under the lamb I would not try, it would better suit a dish with shrimp or prawn. It was not great. The service on that night was disappointing. It felt like all the staff were all new. At some point, we noticed that 3 men all tried to help the bartender and wanted to stay there rather than take our order. It did take around an hour to get out starter, and then after waiting so long, you do eat everything very fast. So you expect another 45 minutes for your main meal but it's 15 minutes later. We did, however, at the end, get an apology from the head of house and a 50€ gift card. Overall, I would note this adres in my restaurant book, and definitely try their sister restaurant 20 steps further.

Hard to find. When I saw two people sitting outside I asked "do you know where haven12 is?" then I was already there.

Food was excellent, service in itself not bad, but there was a large group of guests, 25+, where almost all the staff's attention was focused, which resulted in us only receiving the menu after 20 minutes of asking, followed by approximately 15 minutes. before the order was taken and then again 45 minutes before the food was served. Far too long and not acceptable, furthermore it was very noisy all the time. If accepting such a large group is at the expense of service to the other guests, then in my opinion you should not start or accept fewer reservations. Too bad, I hope next time is better because the food remains very good.

As a preview of next week's new menu, I was able to taste a few dishes. And what a party! Scallops in bisque as a starter and lamb chops as a main. Sublimely prepared and beautifully served. A beautiful Valpolicella Superiore red wine with the main course to finish it off and go home wonderfully satisfied. A big compliment for the hospitality and the atmosphere! I thought it was very expensive in relation to what we got. There was a lot of fuss about drinks that were sparsely served and expensive. The food itself was quite tasty.

We had an excellent meal and drinks here with 6 people (due to our 25th wedding anniversary). We opted for "table full", which is highly recommended. and what a beautiful restaurant and very friendly staff. If we are in the area again we will definitely come back.

Had a delicious meal at Haven 12. We sat outside on the terrace. Cozy decoration, both inside and outside. The staff is very friendly and gave good advice about wine and food. We ordered a 'table full' which was highly recommended. Combination of fish and meat, good portions and plenty of vegetables. The restaurant is located at the Gedempte Haven, a nice urban part of Waalwijk, just outside the center.

We had another nice evening. The dishes were just okay. The quality is very consistent here. This very beautiful business has warmth, but you wouldn't expect such beautifully decorated businesses hidden in a corner of Waalwijk. Definitely worth a visit! This time ordering took a bit too long for us. We had to ask for the map. This was simply better on other visits. But all in all a wonderful place to enjoy yourself.

The concept of Waalwijk! The only restaurant in Waalwijk where you can experience top food, atmosphere and top evenings in terms of parties, all in beautiful accommodation! Quality and price ratio is perfect! And the staff is extremely customer-friendly, social and fast! All in all, plenty of reasons to have a nice meal here, have a drink or have a fun party!
