We dined here with four people and received a very warm welcome and service. The food was delicious, and we even received a small appetizer. 🙂 It was really nice that they wrote a little personal note on the back of the receipt. We had to head back north, and they wished us a safe journey. It doesn't say anything about the food (which was excellent), but it does say something about their dedication. Fantastic!

My husband and I dined here last night for a 4-course dinner. It was fantastic! The host was very knowledgeable, the plates were beautifully presented, and the food was served hot. But above all, the composition of the dishes was fantastic. The price-quality ratio was more than reasonable. A 4-course dinner and cappuccino for 2 people cost €108. Highly recommended.

We popped in spontaneously on Sunday evening. We received a warm welcome and started with a starter from the house. Then we opted for salmon tartare, pork tenderloin with goat cheese and bacon, and to finish, a delicious hazelnut praline. The glass of red wine from Italy was especially excellent. The staff were genuinely interested in where we were from and what brought us to Kampen. We will definitely be back.

I had high tea here two weeks ago. I had made a reservation in advance and indicated that I was pregnant and that we didn't want fish. When the high tea was ordered, one sandwich actually had salmon on it. It was smoked salmon and was close to the sandwiches that were suitable for me (pregnant). I know I'm always quite careful, and I didn't like this and would have handled it differently. I left it to myself because the solution was simple: I cut off the sides of my sandwich. When I indicated that neither of us ate fish, I was told this wasn't known. But this was clearly stated in my reservation. Of course, it's no problem if something goes wrong, and it was resolved by replacing the sandwich, but just make sure that wasn't the intention. The way they reacted was unpleasant. Then we were told what appetizers had been served. One appetizer was cookie dough. I asked if it contained raw egg, and the waitress went to check with the kitchen. It turned out it was. There was raw egg in it. I told her I didn't like it because I'm pregnant. They knew this. I asked if the rest was safe to eat. She said it was. You understand; the whole high tea tastes awful, and you wonder about everything if it's safe. Soup had also been served. According to the waitress, this mustard soup was safe to eat. When I got home, I wondered what I'd eaten and saw on the menu: mustard soup with beer. I called, and she immediately confirmed that there was indeed beer in the soup. She said it was boiled out, but everyone knows (especially the chef, I hope) that alcohol never completely evaporates. In short, not suitable for pregnant women. When I pointed this out, she said we'd had chicken soup. She took absolutely no responsibility. I definitely had mustard soup, not chicken soup. There was little to no response to me, and she quickly asked if there was anything else she could do. I think this is really bad practice and hope it's taken seriously. If you can't prove it's safe during pregnancy, that's fine, but please let us know. Don't serve raw eggs and partially evaporated alcohol. That's just not okay.

After two outings, we've now dined inside at Heer en Meester for the first time. This is our third visit, both because we like it and because not all restaurants in Kampen offer vegetarian dishes. As always, the food is excellent, with a small but. The pasta dish I had was very tasty, but that was all: pasta, nut crumbs, and sauce. Anyone who orders a steak or something similar gets all sorts of garnishes. My companion's dish was also excellent, but with the same flaw. Furthermore, we were given a fish amuse-bouche upon arrival, and when we indicated we were vegetarians (of the non-fish variety), it was simply taken away. No alternative. In short, just step it up a notch and you'll truly be the lord and master of the Plantage!

We were given the opportunity to sample the new menu. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed in a pleasant atmosphere. Surprisingly delicious dishes included beetroot tartare, cod with a delicious roasted garlic sauce, and bavette steak with seasonal vegetables and red wine jus. We started with a delicious amuse-bouche and oysters, and for dessert, hazelnut-praline mousse. The service was friendly and explained the dishes well. Compliments to the entire team for a very successful evening.

Unfortunately, the kitchen staff at Heer & Meester Kampen really doesn't deserve the grandeur of the beautiful building on the corner of Oudestraat and Plantageplein Kampen! The first experience was raw mussels in the Thai version of the restaurant—a real shame! Back to the kitchen and a second chance, but that Thai touch was completely missing! Today I gave them another chance: Patatje Rendang... Well, unfortunately again... This was more of a bland version of stew than the refined and spicy Indonesian Rendang. Well... I know for sure now: the kitchen at Heer & Meester Kampen is a complete failure! Never again will I eat here! The terrace is lovely, though, amen!

Lovely place, always friendly staff, and a fantastic patio. So nice that you can even enjoy a smoke outside. The outdoor furniture is nice and inviting to linger. Highly recommended.

Bijzonder slecht. Voorbode was de buurtafel waar bevroren appeltaart werd geserveerd. Van andere tafels gingen een paar gerechten retour. Dan onze lunch. Nooit geeeten dat je een tosti zo kan verpesten. Vlees compleet kapotgegaard, bijzonder weinig kaas en alles kurkdroog geroosterd. Broodje tonijnsalade: vooral heel veel volume goedkope sla en een nauwelijks aangemaakte, waterige tonijnsalade. Kortom, nauwelijks zorg aan besteed. De keuken heeft geen idee.

The goat cheese sandwich was delicious, but the tuna salad sandwich was absolutely delicious. RECOMMENDED.

Had an unpleasant experience at this restaurant. On the terrace there are ashtrays here and there on the tables (not on our table), but we had not noticed that the terraces are not smoke-free. Smoke lingers under the awnings and next to us two couples were smoking heavily. When I asked if it could be less during our meal, they immediately got angry and lit extra cigarettes. 'Go sit somewhere else' was said. When we did this, we ended up at a table in another restaurant where we were looked away. All in all, not so funny. According to the staff, there must be ashtrays because otherwise people will sit somewhere else. Joint anti-smoking agreements with other catering establishments are not made. So if you do not want to sit in other people's smoke while eating and do not feel like having conflicts about this: go somewhere else!

Food was just what you expect from a cafe. Also in terms of comfort just wooden straight chairs and wooden table. I ordered a merlot, but it tasted strange and had bubbles. Turned out not to be merlot but wine on tap. What? Ice cold at the toilet upstairs because of the air conditioning.

Not recommended, tomato soup and chicken satay! The tomato soup was red water and grainy (dry soup instance), we couldn't even spoon it away! The satay was greasy and in the sauce you could stand the spoon upright... I have never eaten so bad. The fries were fried well on the other hand and the bowl of salad was okay. In short, we will take a terrace somewhere else next time!

A day in Kampen was complete with a delicious lunch. I ordered the 12 hour deluxe. Croquettes warm and tasty, salmon and carpaccio sandwiches fresh and well-filled. Staff nice and attentive.

We were there for dinner today. The waiter was very friendly and brought us a pad with a German menu as soon as he noticed. The food was very good and came quickly. We received very friendly service the entire time in the restaurant and can only recommend this restaurant.

I was in Kampen with my wife for a while, I can't walk much anymore due to my health, so I had a cup of coffee and had lunch at Heer en Meester. Highly recommended for a delicious lunch because of the atmosphere, service but also the quality of the food.

The service here in particular is very good! Meat and salad were okay. The pepper cream sauce was very watery and had little flavor. For the price, I won't be going here again anytime soon. Too bad, because the service is doing its best!

Lovely terrace in the shade under the plane trees. The food (2 lunch dishes) were good but lacked the finishing touch; the carpacio tasted a bit flat and the pastrami could use a little salad. The service is friendly, but if you serve food and you don't notice that the glasses are empty, you miss that little bit that would make it perfect.

Personally, we didn't think it was great to sit and eat here. It takes a long time for the waiter to come to you for an order. Forgotten fries are still delivered when the food is already gone. We ended up paying the bill ourselves because there was no one there after 20 minutes. The salads were simple but okay. You cannot each order your own side dish when the dish consists of salad and fries. If one person wants sweet potato fries and the other wants regular fries, you pay an additional price for the sweet potatoes (but okay, that is more expensive and therefore understandable), and the second person's fries are seen and charged as a separate dish. If you want to eat well, it is much better to go to the colorful ox!

Good seating, great restaurant, very friendly service. Sufficient choice on the menu in terms of main courses, but there is also a special menu for the children where they also get an ice cream. For specialty beer enthusiasts, there is also a nice menu with tasty beers.

Echt een top plek om te eten waar de service goed is! Wij hebben een wijnproeverij gedaan van 5 gangen, bij elke gang kregen we uitgebreide uitleg over de wijn. Zowel de wijn als de bijbehorende gerechten waren allemaal even lekker. Zeker een aanrader.

Online gereserveerd voor maandagavond omdat dit een van de weinige restaurants is die op maandagavond open is. Kreeg een mail dat het restaurant ineens dicht was. Toch nog even langs gelopen op maandagmiddag en gevraagd of we er konden dineren. Men had besloten om ivm het slechte weer de tent dicht te gooien, kregen we te horen.... Daardoor bij De Majesteit terecht gekomen, wat een aanrader zeg, dit restaurant. Heerlijk gegeten voor een prima prijs en personeel wat blij is om je te zien ook als het regent!!!

Ducked into this restaurant for shelter when the rain started tipping down and stayed for dinner. I had kipsatay (chicken with peanut sauce) and my wife had kabaljauw (cod) with garlic and hazelnut sauce. Both were excellent. Service was quick and friendly and bilingual.

Het is een hele mooie plek om gezellig te zitten maar helaas is het eten een volledige afknapper. Het vlees was niet goed bereid en de rest was ook heel matig. De desserts zijn een regelrechte aanfluiting. Prijs kwaliteit verhouding is volledig zoek.

Gezellig interieur, maar ook buiten zijn er verwarmde tafeltjes met sfeervolle lampjes. Kaart is prima, zowel voor lunch als diner. Prijs-kwaliteit verhouding is goed. Er is ook een bovenverdieping die je voor een grotere groep kunt reserveren.

Leuke en vriendelijke personeel lekkere broodjes en hele goede koffie.

Eten was lekker, biefstuk was behoorlijk goed en truffel-jus mooi in balans. Sukade echt heel zacht. Wij waren wat laat voor Nederlandse begrippen maar de keuken was nog open en zeer snel geserveerd. Er waren wel andere lieden op het terras die al naar eigen zeggen een uur zaten te wachten op eten en dat was niet zo bevorderlijk voor de sfeer. Maar verder helemaal top.

Ik kom er wel vaker voor de borrel of lunch en daarin alleen al, slagen ze op alle vlakken. Ik heb er nu voor het eerst gedineerd en het is echt top!! Niet een te grote kaart en het eten is echt super, ook de opmaak er van is super goed. Je kan zien en proeven dat er met aandacht aan gewerkt word. Ook de bediening is goed, vriendelijk en weten goed te timen wanneer ze langs kunnen komen. Ga zo door!

Ik geef het hele restaurant slechts 2 sterren vanwege onze bestelling, die naar onze mening de hoge prijs niet waard is. Onze koude Hollandse biefstukken (~€20) waren op verschillende plaatsen zo taai als rubber of zo mals als boter. Over het geheel genomen waren de groenten en het vlees zeer ongelijk gegaard. De koolrabi was soms bijna als uit de koelkast en soms erg gaar. We hadden op zijn minst enige kwaliteit verwacht voor een dergelijke prijs per gerecht. Desondanks stond er "slecht" eten aan tafel Al met al was het restaurant leuk en de obers waren ook aardig. Alleen het vlees en de groenten waren slecht
