Heeren Van Oranje in Breda zuid

The restaurant is situated on the edge of the forest and looks stately from the outside. However, the interior is a faded glory. It's supposed to have the feel of an old English country house, but we found it rather old and in need of renovation. The staff is friendly. We ordered the shrimp croquettes with fries. 20 euros. Two small croquettes, a portion of fries, and a small salad. The taste was just okay. That's it. The price-quality ratio wasn't right. You can have a pleasant conversation there because there's no distracting background music. Very pleasant. The coffee is very tasty. Served in traditional cups.

A wonderful place to enjoy a meal or drink after a walk in the woods. Indoors and outdoors! Even if the weather isn't great, you can sit outside under the awning or parasol, with a cozy fire burning. The service is friendly, and the food is delicious. This time we ordered a bread platter and mixed snacks.

Tournedos is so delicious. Parking is easy, and the surrounding forest is so pretty.

A beautiful location next to the woods for a drink after your walk. After a disappointing last time, we decided to give it another try. It's a real disgrace. Such a waste of a beautiful location. The outdoor terrace is seriously outdated; a few new tables wouldn't hurt. A woman politely cleared our still-dirty table (she didn't clean it), and we looked at her hopefully to order. But alas, she walked away without looking at us. After 20 minutes, we waved vigorously to order something. We ordered hot chocolate and the last piece of cake to share. The hot chocolate was boiled water with a little powder, and the cake came with a single fork. Handy if you're sharing. So we asked for an extra fork and sent the hot chocolate back. The second one wasn't much better, but we left it at that. The cookie on the whipped cream was a nice decoration, but it was inconvenient because it disappears into the (piped) whipped cream and into your glass. So, chocolate milk with a dissolved cookie... The girls working there are truly Gen Z; they don't look further than 30cm ahead (phone distance) to see what's happening on the patio. No apology or apology either when we mentioned the chocolate milk. I paid by walking inside, because even though there were several other people on the patio, there was definitely no one there for another 20 minutes.

The rooms are a bit dated. Our bathroom had been renovated. The service was very pleasant! Breakfast wasn't particularly special, but it was tasty. Don't walk in the woods across the street from the parking lot; it's a popular dog walking area! It smells strongly of poop. First, go left down the street for 100 meters and then cross the street; there are far fewer dog owners there, and you can breathe easy.

Always good for a drink, with or without a snack. Always open.

On Sunday evenings, the kitchen closes at 8:30 PM, and even snacks are no longer available. And at 9:30 PM, you'll be asked to order your last drink.

Ate the gentlemen's sandwich. The gentlemen apparently don't know what a sandwich is. I got one slice of bread, a piece of Parma ham thrown on it, a piece of Brie thrown on top of that with a handful of (unprepared) rocket next to it. And all that for "only" €13 Decoration: Old-fashioned brown stuff

Mold in the tea. Extremely depressing experience. Service threw the drinks on the table causing everything to overflow. Then I got ginger tea and it tasted very strange, when I look at the ginger it turns out to be moldy.

Nice place, nice staff, but a very mediocre salad for what it costs. Chicken fillet was pre-cooked or something and then provided with some grill stripes. Didn't look like a real grilled chicken or chicken pieces.

A wonderfully quaint hotel restaurant on the edge of the Mastbos. Old-fashioned menu with excellent dishes at reasonable prices. Sitting outside in the sun makes it all better. Highly recommended!

Tasty cappuccino and very friendly service.

Prettig gelegen horecabedrijf, vriendelijk personeel, bediening als vanouds goed. Terrastafeltjes sleets. Kommetje extra pindasaus was niet mogelijk. Aanpassing dessertijsje dan weer wel! De broodjes rib-eye en tempeh vielen tegen in smaak en bereiding, overige gerechten waren prima. Prijs pp voor lunchgerecht, 2 drankjes en dessert was gemiddeld 30,50.

12 hours of fish: very expensive, no taste. Shrimp croquette, the shrimp could not be detected, salmon had 0 sauce and lacked quality, fish soup was butter with some onion flavor - no fish. Very disappointing for this price.

We usually come here after a walk in the woods. Lovely terrace on the edge of the forest. Or inside the nostalgic interior. The food is no-frills and good. We're just missing some creativity on the drinks platter. We are real drinkers and we don't think the chunks of cheese and sausage really fit the ambiance. The drinks board has also been the same for years. We would like to see cheese boards or chacuterie on the menu. That doesn't take much effort and is something different. Our gratitude is great when our wish comes true.

Bit of an old school, yesteryear restaurant hotel. Nothing wrong with is and also nothing to get exited about.

We arrived here around three on Christmas Day and had some drinks and snacks on the terrace. Enjoyed the delicious Christmas menu at the beginning of the evening. We sat at the table for more than 4 hours, but we were never bored. Our room was authentic, with a good mattress and good sanitary facilities. All in all just good

Super nice service, delicious food, starter, main course and dessert The parking lot on the other side of the road where we had to park was very dark and an uneven path, which was not suitable for some of our party (visually impaired, with difficulty walking).

We visited Heeren van Oranje for an evening drink after a lovely evening walk. The three of us enjoyed some drinks, along with bread and a delicious carpaccio. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere truly added to the experience. The bar has the warm and inviting feel of a classic "old brown café," with fascinating details in every corner. One highlight was the unique ceiling fans, powered by a leather belt system that runs across the entire ceiling, a charming touch that adds to the character of the place. It was relatively quiet during our visit, although at times it was a bit challenging to get the staff's attention, likely because they were focused on two larger groups in the bar. I’m definitely planning to return, not only to soak in the nostalgic ambiance again but also to try more from their menu!

Really delicious food, been here for the 1st time. And certainly not the last time. Had in front, Gravad Lachs, and as head, the Dover Sole. Highly recommended, in our opinion. And the portions, more than enough, great!!

Brown cafe restaurant. Classic style but food excellent and prepared with care. Then a beer at the bar.

Can't complain about the service,there wasn't any. Waiting 5min got completely ignored and it wasn't busy. Coffee place down the road gave a much better welcome.

Rude service. Came to the table yawning and everything was too much. When asked if he wanted to put away an ashtray that smelled, he was told that it was always there. We left and went to the ranger for dinner. There are staff who know their trade.

Older hotel, quite cozy. Were here for 1 night with dinner. Good without further ado. Very friendly people. Room was small even for 1 person.

My partner and I enjoyed a delicious three-course Easter dinner at Heeren van Oranje on Easter Sunday. The service was very friendly and the dishes were of excellent quality and very tasty! Had lunch here with mom this afternoon; 12-hour meat and croquettes with brown bread. Nice and fast service, delicious food. The atmosphere is a bit dark, with some antique items. Fits the name 'Heeren van Oranje'.

We had a funeral service here, so I don't think this review is representative of the restaurant. There was an annoying echo in the music and the spoken word. The sandwiches we were served beforehand were excellent. Unfortunately, we were only offered a drink after the ceremony, even though we were definitely on time, about half an hour before the start of the service. The snacks that were distributed after the service were also not distributed properly. There was a noticeable shortage of staff. At one point one of the waiters dropped a tray full of empty glasses. Unfortunately, no more than 3 stars from me.

Had lunch here with son. Old school service, all good. Food was excellent value for money. Good fish soup and twelve o'clock was also fine. Also very nice vibes here in terms of atmosphere. A bit old school. Lots of varnished brown wood with copper. Fans are a nice touch. Why not 5 stars? Dogs are allowed inside here. Big and small. Outside I understand that, but inside during lunch, no thank you. It brings down the atmosphere and with multiple dogs you notice that there is some tension between the dogs.

Too bad the wet dog smell has neutralized the taste of the hopefully tasty food. Service extremely friendly and smooth!

De sandwich van de heeren gegeten. De heeren weten kennelijk niet wat een sandwich is. Ik kreeg één snee brood, lap parmaham erop gekwakt, daarop een lap brie gesmeten met een greep (niet aangemaakte) rucola er naast. En dat alles voor slechts 13€

Heerlijk buiten zitten op deze stek. Ruim terras en aardige bediening. Eten is niet speciaal maar gewoon goed met lekkere wijnen.

Hey personeel was vriendelijk. Het eten was heerlijk. Goede kwaliteit producten op een goede manier bereid. Echter duurde het verschikkelijk lang voordat dat de gerechten werden uitgeserveerd. Toen we daar opmerkingen over maakten kwam het dessert bijna direct na het hootdgerecht. Onze buren hebben totaal bijna 1,5 uur gedaan over het gehele diner en hebben verschillende keren gevraagd waar de volgende gang bleef

Ontbijt minimalistische. Diner beperkte kaart maar goede producten. Personeel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Mooie locatie tegen het Mast bos aan. Nostalgisch vanbinnen met vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Goed ontbijtbuffet en dineren is heerlijk.

Genoten van de omgeving en het eten. Heerlijke tonijn salade en asperge soep eaqr er helaas geen asperge in te vinden was

Bitterballen en bier erg lekker

Kwam aan met mijn pa, invalide parkeerplaats voor de deur, dus dat ging goed. Gingen zitten aan een tafel binnen en toen niks.... Geen bediening naar onze tafel om drinken op te nemen of om te vragen of we kwamen eten. Na een kwartier maar weer vertrokken.

Leukste terras ooit! Lekker aan de rand van het bos, het personeel schroomt niet voor een gezellig praatje en het eten is er heerlijk!

Waardeloze bediening; verkeerde bestellingen op de rekening aangeslagen; geen alerte gastheer; tafel niet netjes afgeruimd; bestelling vergeten, niet ingedekt; verkeerde wijn geschonken; weten niet hoe een Italian coffee hoort te smaken.

Op een zonnig terras en fijn personeel en lekker eten is het helemaal geweldig.

Altijd erg lekkere lunch en diner. Wij komen hier al jaren zeer regelmatig en het is elke keer weer raak. Ook vrienden en familie vinden het hier altijd leuk. De sfeer binnen doet denken aan een oud sfeervol hotel(en dat is het ook), maar het is ook heerlijk om op het terras van de zon te genieten na een lekkere boswandeling. (Of gewoon om speciaal voor het restaurant te komen.) De bediening is altijd zeer vriendelijk en gezellig. Er is veel keuze in lunch en dinergerechten. Ook vegetarische gerechten vind ik hier altijd erg lekker. De dinerkaart word ook regelmatig vernieuwd met de seizoenen en zo blijft het verassend en vers. Kies een van de toetjes om je vingers bij af te likken, of neem gewoon een heerlijk stuk taart of Bosche bol uit de vitrine. Honden zijn welkom. Deze plek is een aanrader.

Na heen en weer Brussel met wat vrienden die boven de rivieren wonen ze meegenomen naar de heeren van oranje. Een chique authentiek hotel en restaurant in de achtertuin van Breda “Het mastbosch” een bos met een hectare van 546 groot. Lekker gegeten ruime keuze. Ook de drank heeft een ruime keuze. De bediening altijd met een lach in voor een praatje. EEN AUTHENTIEK GRAND CAFÉ EN EEN TERRAS OP HET ZUIDEN

The atmosphere is very pleasant, with the 20's furnishing, however the food and service are killing it. My friend got a coffee cup with still lipstick marks on it and the club sandwich was actually some very dried bread with just a bit of filling in the middle and highly overpriced.

De sfeer was OK, maar de bediening wisselend, tussen erg vriendelijk en helemaal geen zin in. Latte Machiato niet tevreden over (weinig smaak), wel netjes teruggenomen. Ham was droog, bouillon vooral zout. Verder niets bijzonders. Ik kan niet vaak zoiets als dit betalen dus waarschijnlijk voor mij geen herhaling.

Komen er graag na de boswandeling Kwaliteit is er net ietsje beter

Leuk, niet zo heel groot, restaurant. Het restaurant is wel sfeervol ingericht. Het eten is echt goed en lekker. Het personeel is vriendelijk.

Eten is prima, eten vanaf de kaart gaat niet als je met een groep bent. Voor vegetariërs weinig keuze. Voor veganisten geen keuze

Een à twee maal in het jaar komen bij de Heeren Van Oranje. Het is er klassiek ingericht maar dat geeft je juist de sfeer waar je tot rust komt. Waar je voortreffelijk kan lunchen of dineren of even iets tussendoor, na een fijne wandeling. Ja het personeel is perfect gekleed, schoon verzorgd ....en lieve mensen die voor de juiste service zorgen. Chapeau Heeren Van Oranje. Ons bezoek op 1 januari was weer een gezellig feestje met onze familie.

Je waant je terug in de tijd als je daar binnen bent. Wel mooi beetje donker, maar het heeft wel iets.

Leuk oud restaurant. Mooie lokatie. Vlotte bediening Gezellige gasten, o.a. uit de Pyreneeën.

Heel gezellig restaurant gelegen in het Mastbos. Bediening prima en je kan er uitstekend eten.
