De Fazant is beautifully situated in the Ulvenhoutse forest. The food is good, and the service was excellent!

While one person might give the food 4 stars because fries with mayonnaise come standard with every main course, for me it actually deducts one star. You don't serve a separate portion of fries with a plate of goat cheese ravioli, just as you do with a plate of risotto. Instead, there could have been 2 or 3 extra ravioli pillows on the plate. Or the price 2 or 3 euros lower. The fries were taken back untouched; a shame/waste. It is a small effort to ask beforehand if they would like fries with it. However, the waiter explained that they chose to include them as standard because they received many comments; therefore, fries are not included. Otherwise, there is nothing to complain about regarding the quality, and the atmosphere, both inside and outside, is pleasant.

Atmospheric place and friendly staff, but unfortunately the service fell short when it came to feedback. When I pointed out that the gazpacho tasted cold, watery, and freshly thawed, nothing was done about it. Also, when paying the bill, despite asking if everything had been to our liking, there was no response to my comment. It is a real shame, because the potential and the atmosphere are certainly there, but the handling of complaints could really be better.

We have always had good experiences, but this was a special evening for us and the food was really disappointing. The risotto had absolutely no taste and the shrimp cocktail was ordinary. We honestly gave our opinion and didn't make a fuss about it. But unfortunately, nothing was done about it. A shame.

Had a lovely cup of ginger tea. I made a joke by saying that I always do that for the cookie you get with it. She spontaneously gave me a small plate of extra cookies. Super sweet and thoughtful. It was really nice how she handled it. We asked if there was a possibility to stay for dinner and that was possible too. Beautiful location.

Bizarre. Sawing trees during lunch

The food was decent, but the service was poor. There was confusion regarding a dessert, and the waiter handled it poorly. We ordered an Espresso Martini with a pastry, but apparently, that was two separate dishes, which is not at all clear from the dessert menu. When we inquired, we were immediately told that they couldn't do anything about it. When settling the bill, the wrong table was charged, and we overpaid by card. This is because they do not take a receipt when settling the bill. So, you have to pay by card without knowing what you are paying. Despite all this, they do not make the effort to make amends with the customer; so, minus points. We will never go here again.

This afternoon I ordered a Franziskaner Weizen beer and an Earl Grey tea. The menu listed a price of €6 for the beer and €3.60 for a cup of tea. When ordering, the waiter said, "That is a half-liter." I said okay, fine. When paying, I had to pay €11.60. I went to the waiter to ask where the €2 difference came from. He said that a half-liter cost €8. I consider that misleading because I was basing my decision on the price listed on the menu, €6. Also because he said, "But it is a half-liter."

On Sunday, June 21, 2026, Father's Day, we had lunch at De Fazant in Ulvenhout. Although a few minor things were forgotten during our lunch, there was one mistake that was serious for us. Despite having indicated several times that the burrata sandwich needed to be gluten-free, it turned out that croutons were included with the burrata (the bread roll itself was gluten-free, by the way). For someone dependent on a gluten-free diet, this is naturally not the intention, and we were therefore not happy about it. However, what happened next deserves a big compliment. The staff reacted immediately, apologized several times, and a new burrata sandwich was made right away—which, by the way, was delicious. When settling the bill, we were completely surprised: because they felt they had made a serious mistake, De Fazant offered us the full cost of our lunch. We didn't have to pay anything. This demonstrates taking responsibility, genuine commitment, and excellent hospitality. Mistakes can be made anywhere, but the way you handle them makes all the difference. De Fazant has shown that they take their guests seriously and do everything possible to turn an unpleasant experience into a positive conclusion. Thank you for the service and the professional handling. We ultimately went home with a good feeling and will certainly be back!

The four of us dined at De Flazant and it was a truly wonderful experience. The food was excellent: there's plenty of choice for everyone, with good vegetarian options and tasty fish and meat dishes. Everything was perfectly seasoned. The service was friendly and attentive, offering helpful advice on choosing dishes and wines. The wine list is surprisingly good. Furthermore, the cozy atmosphere and beautiful ambiance make you feel immediately at ease. It's also convenient: ample parking nearby and charging facilities. In short, De Flazant is highly recommended for anyone in the area.

Lovely spot in the woods, where we now also enjoy coming with the children (2 and 5 years old). Especially if you arrive a bit early for dinner (5:00 PM), they really do give the children some extra attention. A tip from the oldest: a Super Mario coloring page next time instead of a pheasant :-p

Extensive lunch menu and drinks/wine list, or let yourself be surprised by the changing chef's menu…. Asparagus. Service is top-notch. Great spot for lunch or dinner, absolutely recommended.

We had a delicious meal, the skrei in particular was excellent. Tasty beurre blanc. Our host, Ties, was very service-oriented.

What a shame. We had a good meal on previous occasions. This time it was bad. Nothing was fresh. The meat on the burger felt like rubber. It didn't even contain any juices. The fish stew had tasteless fish and even the falafel salad had some unidentifiable blobs on it. It seems that success is now becoming the downfall of De Fazant. A pity for such a beautiful location.

Beautiful location. It's very noisy. It's difficult to hear each other. The wooden ceiling finish makes it soundless. Perfect for a party or something similar. I expected more from the beef steak in terms of tenderness and flavor. The tomato soup was plain. Very friendly staff.

Especially in the hospitality industry, the customer should be king. Unfortunately, that's not the case at De Fazant. Last Wednesday, we wanted to have lunch there. The sun had just broken through, so we sat down on the terrace. We ordered a beer and a soft drink. Then it turned out lunch wasn't possible on the terrace. Only drinks and snacks were available. Dining was only possible "indoors" under a large canopy. A couple at the next table had the same disappointing experience. The staff came up with all sorts of pointless arguments, like "Almost no one wants to eat in the sun," "People can't see the menu clearly on their phones," or "If we let you have lunch on the terrace, we have to do it for everyone." Incidentally, it had nothing to do with the crowd: only three tables were occupied. In short, this restaurant prioritizes following its own rules over pleasing its customers.

Vanuit Bavel te voet naar De Fazant. Bij aankomst aangenaam verrast door de entourage. Mooi, fijn, deels overdekt terras en binnen is het woord ‘sfeervol’ nog onvoldoende. Op het overdekte terras bestelden we bier en wijn. Daar markeerde niets aan behalve dat we nog steeds moeten wennen aan dat ‘bodempje’ wijn dat er tegenwoordig geschonken wordt in de Horeca. We besloten eenvoudig te dineren. Van de relatief uitgebreide kaart bestelden we de kipsate en Fazantburger (van rundvlees). We moesten na het eenvoudige broodplankje drie kwartier wachten op het hoofd gerecht. De terrasstoelen zijn daarvoor niet geschikt en een kussentje zou welkom zijn. De saté was prima net als de burger. De dessertkaart was zeer beperkt zodat we kozen voor koffie en thee. Deze werd geserveerd met een fantasieloos Lotus koekje. Eigenlijk niets groots om over te klagen behalve dan over de prijs/kwaliteit verhouding. Met vier tientjes per persoon goed aan de prijs. Maar dat waren we na een voetreis van een uur terug alweer vergeten…

We came for lunch. After choosing a table, it took over 10 minutes for someone to come and take our drink order. After waiting another 40 minutes for service, and staring at two empty glasses for at least 30 minutes, we decided to eat elsewhere after paying our bill.

We've eaten here a few times before. Everything was delicious and good. I always had the goat cheese salad, but that wasn't available this time. So I opted for the healthy chicken on white bread. It looked good. The plate smelled a bit off, though. Too bad. While it looked and tasted good, I had terrible stomach cramps an hour later. Luckily, we were almost home, otherwise it wouldn't have ended so well. Hopefully, it won't happen again when I eat here. I'm also wondering if all the ingredients were fresh. The food arrived within 10 minutes of our order. 🤔

Op vrijdag 20 juni 2025 heb ik hier een bruiloft gehad, waarbij ik ceremoniemeester van het bruidspaar was. In die rol natuurlijk de eervolle taak om te zorgen dat alles goed verloopt. De service en samenwerking met de Fazant was hierin TOP mét héle grote letters! Alle mensen zowel voor als achter de schermen verstaan 'hun vak'! De locatie is natuurlijk al sowieso prachtig en het eten was ook overheerlijk en ruimvoldoende! Vanaf het allereerste contact voelden 'wij' (het bruidspaar en ik) ons gehoord en gezien met betrekking tot de wensen en onzekerheden. Van A tot Z zijn wij volledig ontzorgd en dat is toch precies wat je wil op je trouwdag! Wij hebben genóten en zullen déze locatie aan iedereen warm aanbevelen!

On Friday, June 20, 2025, I hosted a wedding here, where I was the bride and groom's master of ceremonies. In that role, I naturally had the honorable task of ensuring everything went smoothly. The service and collaboration with de Fazant were TOP-notch! Everyone, both in front of and behind the scenes, knew their craft! The venue is, of course, stunning, and the food was delicious and plentiful! From the very first contact, we (the bride and groom and I) felt heard and cared for regarding our wishes and concerns. We were completely taken care of from start to finish, which is exactly what you want on your wedding day! We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this venue to everyone!

We happened upon De Fazant randomly on a cycle but we were very glad we did. Service was personable, timely and very professional. Food was very tasty too. Really delicious. Plus we ordered dessert. We sat out on the terrace. The atmosphere, decor and tables were excellent. The onsite table tennis and playground were great for our kids too.

Formerly the Fazanterie. In the summer cycling competitions were held for charity. I always participated. Was very nice and well organized. My grandparents also celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary there. Great party and delicious food. Nice terrace in the forest, everyone ❤️

With 12 people ate, nice atmosphere, good service. Thai coconut soup absolutely recommended. Point for improvement is the aperol spritz, 9.5 euros for a watery aperol without a trace of prosecco is really not right. When giving feedback a lukewarm reaction "oh we never hear that"

Ik ken de Fazanterie, nu Fazant, al jaaaaren. Locatie en sfeer is top. Het eten smakeloos. We geven het iedere keer een kans, maar gaan zonder voldaan gevoel naar huis. De borrelplank, waar je niks aan kan mispeuteren is goed. Tonijn carpaccio smaakte naar niks. Vroeg om wasabi, hadden ze niet alleen wasbak mayonaise die nergens naar smaakte. Zo ook de carpaccio rund van mijn moeder. Vispannetje die we de keer daarvoor ophanden ook geen enkele smaak aan. Zelfs de kaas smaakte naar niks. De biefstuk van mijn man idemdito en mijn tante vertelde dat ze zo "vies" had gegeten vorige week. Jammer. Aan de recensies te zien ben ik niet de enige. Misschien moeten jullie toch eens iets aan jullie ingrediëntenkeuze doen om de smaakpapillen te strelen.
