We had a lovely lunch. The restaurant is nicely decorated. And the service was friendly.

It's quite nice to sit there on the first floor with a view of the shopping street.

We sat down when the tables around us were empty. After a few minutes, people came and sat next to us. They were helped with their orders and drinks, but they didn't look at us. We were passed over and ignored. When we got up to leave, the staff continued to walk past us and didn't ask what was wrong. It's a shame, because the atmosphere is otherwise good.

Lovely terrace on the bridge. Friendly staff. Had a midday snack, really delicious! Fresh tomato soup, crispy fresh bread, and a delicious egg salad sandwich. Highly recommended on a beautiful day in Amersfoort!

We had a lovely meal today, a company that does justice to Hemels, definitely recommended.

For the Belgians in Amersfoort... This is like being in Halle.

A wonderful place for lunch and/or coffee and cake. A good menu, friendly service, and fantastic pastries. A beautiful building with a charming and inviting atmosphere.

Hot cakes, but staff was busy with all kinds of arrangements behind the bar.

Last weekend, I ordered a drink with "masterful bitterballen." They arrived half-frozen. After waiting five minutes for a waiter, I brought them inside myself. I didn't have to say anything, because the waitress already knew enough. Two stars anyway, because I got fresh ones anyway. Unfortunately, they're not truly masterful in terms of taste. The contents are a limp ragout with cubes of meat, and you get a mustard sauce. That's a thin mayonnaise sauce with a bit of mustard spilled over it.

The restaurant manager was eating, which was fine, but she was grumpy and complaining about the schedule to her staff. It was annoying. The orange juice was from a carton (or they had really bad oranges). Besides not being tasty, the price was ridiculous.

You can have a delicious lunch here! The bread is good and the toppings are delicious. Reservations aren't really necessary if you're there before lunchtime.

What a disappointment. Today I ordered two cappuccinos that barely tasted like coffee - it was just warm milk. I reported it, and all I got in response was: "It comes straight out of the machine." So the machine is not set up properly. It's a real shame that they are economizing on coffee like this. For this price you can at least expect a decent cup of coffee.

Did high wine and high beer. Super fun and well taken care of. Staff was friendly and helpful. Be careful! It is relatively a lot of food 😁👌🏽

Good green tea and apple pie. The cheese pie was also very tasty

The lettuce was brown, but no apologies were made or a replacement offered, which is a shame.

Een super gezellig adresje, met een smaakvol interieur. Bediening ongelofelijk goed. Onze bestelling voor het eten was zoek geraakt, ze hebben ons dit komen melden, hebben zich geëxcuseerd , ons voorzien van borrelhapjes en een extra drankje van het huis. Wat hebben wij hier lekker gegeten, mijn vrouw had perfect klaargemaakte zalm, subliem van smaak en ik had diamanthaas, ook super lekker, alleen ik had bleu- chaud gevraagd en heb saignant gekregen..., waarschijnlijk in het tumult van het verloren bonnetje, maar als ik dit melde wouden ze het terug sturen zonder probleem. Wij zijn de ganse avond in de watten gelegd! Een echte aanrader!!!

Almost 15 euros for a half sandwich. Everything takes a very long time and the fries were cold before the plate arrived on the table. Would look for another place for lunch.

Starting point of a very nice company outing for my partner. We had a starter here and were then picked up by a city guide. Very nice night walk along historical highlights of the center of Amersfoort. Had a main course and dessert at another location in the center of Amersfoort.

Very cosy restaurant. The owners is really nice. They have also a room for High wine, tea. Art nouveau décoration. I loved it.

Nice place but not really nice staff, I think there is a lack of management. Food is mediocre.

Fui a tomar unas copas antes de cenar. Excepto por la mesa tambaleante, el interior es muy agradable. Servicio rápido y amable. El menú es lo suficientemente grande. «Wisseltap» era un bokbier belga, agradable, pero de vidrio demasiado pequeño para € 6 , 40 La cantidad de vino tampoco es tan impresionante. No teníamos nada que comer, así que no puedo comentar sobre eso. Los baños estaban en muy buen estado y modernos. Pero en general, no está tan mal para un trago rápido.

Nice café with a play area for children in the back. Have been there several times and always satisfied.

Lunch took a very long time to arrive. Then the fries and pulled chicken were cold, staff only gave free drinks, no new food. The club sandwich was very boring. All in all very disappointed for value for money.

The place was packed on Saturday around lunchtime, but we were served immediately and our lunch was on the table in no time. Really great.

Expensive for 2 coffees and pastries, almost 20Eu

Na bestelling van een ‘12-uurtje’ en ( nadrukkelijk gevraagd om ) een vegetarische clubsandwich werd een clubsandwich met bacon , kipfilet geserveerd. Reactie was:’Oh’ … en werd alsnog maar om een vegetarische variant gevraagd. Na ruim een kwartier weer eens geïnformeerd en werd meedgedeeld dat de vegetarische variant achteraan de bestellingen kwam. Onze buurtafelgenoten merkten op dat er nogal wat misgaat en waren het met ons eens dat de hernieuwde bestelling voorrang zou moeten hebben … zij hadden er ook eentje besteld. Toen we dat hoorden en ik mijn 12- uurtje inmiddels op had bestelden we de clubsandwich af. Ik rekende af maar wilde toch eerst even bij de kennelijke baas kwijt dat ik het allemaal niet goed vond zoals het was gegaan. We kwamen hier enige regelmatig en er ging weleens wat fout maar kan gebeuren. Maar geheel geen sorry o.i.d. vond ik een tekortschieten. De baas reageerde ook met een nietszeggende ‘oh’ , ging ondertussen door met zijn werk en vroeg met een ongeïnteresseerde en smalende blik waarom hij excuses aan mij zou moeten geven. Hij had op het punt gestaan de vegetarische clubsandwich te brengen ( weten wij veel na 20 min) en kon nu zomaar de eerste bestelling weggooien. Ik zei nog dat ik overwoog om bij het serveren van de 1e bestelling gelijk te vetrekken want we hadden de fout al eens eerder meegemaakt en nu héél nadrukkelijk om een vegetarische variant verzocht maar vond het zonde om een 12- uurtje dan weg te laten gooien. Ondertussen heeft mijn tafelgenoot wel moeten toezien hoe ik ‘gezellig’ in mijn eentje mijn eten zat te verorberen. De koffie werd eerst geserveerd en ik merkte nog voor de zekerheid op dat mijn koffie bij het 12- uurtje was inbegrepen maar pas bij afrekenen bleek de koffie sinds een maand geschrapt te zijn en dat heb ik dan kennelijk verder niet gelezen omdat ik vaker dit had besteld. Weer 1 van de veranderingen rondom het eten en drinken waarop de klant inlevert. Ooit was er nog sla bij de kroketten ( nu wat fijngehakte augurk) of friet bij de clubsanwich ( nu nacho’s). En nog los van de veel hogere prijzen. Desondanks kon ik enig begrip opbrengen voor dit alles en ook dat er wel eens wat misging, want de horeca heeft zwarr tijden meegemaakt, maar nu wel verbijsterd over de arrogante houding bij de opmerking dat een excuus of een begripvolle reactie (zoals bv ‘hè wat vervelend nou’ ..oid) wel gemist werd. De baas bleef zich verder ingraven ( ‘we hebben het heel druk’ enz), maar kon werkelijk geen greintje begrip opbrengen. Het was kennelijk een geschenk uit de hemel dat we er mochten lunchen. Van Hemels naar hel inderdaad. En voor ons nooit meer.

We very emphatically stated that we wanted a vegetarian club sandwich in addition to 'a 12-hour meal'. Unfortunately, a copy came with bacon and chicken fillet...it can happen, but the only reaction was: "oh" and after consultation a correct order was placed again. After more than 15 minutes and having practically eaten the '12 hour' (because it cooled down quickly), we inquired how long it would take, whereupon we were told that the order would go to the back of the queue. Our neighbors were also surprised about this and noticed that there was something wrong with the organization and that the error would not be corrected as a matter of priority. Then we ordered the club sandwich because watching the other person eat his order was passé. Before paying, I went to the apparent boss and told him what had happened and that a 'sorry' or 'how annoying now' would have been appropriate, but also only an 'oh' and disinterested look from him. It got even worse that I was accused that he was about to bring the order but now had to throw it away! Our mistake?!? No going back on their mistake at all...no apology or last but not least any understanding, but just an aggrieved response that I thought an apology was inappropriate! In the meantime, he just continued with his activities as if he didn't care at all and could only comment that 'it was so busy'. In short, downright disinterested and actually rude and undignified. We had been coming here regularly for years and sometimes things went wrong... but that can happen. But baffled, we left because of such an incredibly uninterested and indecent attitude without an ounce of understanding. From Heaven to Hell… never again for us!

Grand Cafe Heavenly? We had rewarded them with 5 stars a previous time!! Unfortunately I now have to take back these full 5 stars! And I can't get higher than a star! A previous time, my wife and I had enjoyed a very delicious lunch, it took a while before the dishes were brought to the table, and something had gone wrong with the drinks order? Of course this is quite a point of attention, but acceptable, so still a 5th star. However, today, there was more than enough staff in the service, a hostess came to us to take the order, regarding the drinks and lunch dishes, this already took 10 minutes? Okay, the drinks were brought to our table, but the lunch dishes took a long time to arrive, an hour later still nothing, so yes we were patient, we asked the lady at the table where our lunch was, she would take care of this. just inquired, again no response or notification that something had gone wrong. We of course made this known, we also indicated that we wanted to leave, but nothing yet, in the end we left without lunch, but went to pay for the drinks, but no apologies or apologies for the inconvenience, they could have offered the drinks free of charge out of leniency! The restaurant manager apparently didn't feel like having a conversation in front of other guests and shouted goodbye loudly to drown out our complaint!!!! Although you could have a nice lunch there, not for the third time for us, there are better and friendlier lunch places in Amersfoort. Shame

After waiting almost 45 minutes we asked the waitress where our order was. She went to ask. Then we didn't see this lady again. After an hour we left and paid for drinks. No explanation and a meager apology. Something can always go wrong, but communicate, apologize and resolve it. Owner also did not offer an apology and wanted us out of the business as quickly as possible. It's a shame, even though you can have a delicious lunch here. But now we don't come here anymore.

Very nice place to have lunch, the interior is very cozy. Please note that it is a popular place so it is often busy and noisy, but I did not find it too disturbing. The very tasty food and very extensive menu make up for this!

Vandaag reisden we vanuit de Veluwe terug naar Amsterdam. Onderweg zochten we een leuke plek voor Veganistische burger, mijn dochter kwam als googlend uit bij Hemels in Amersfoort. Wij erop af. Daar aangekomen zagen we dat ze een terras hadden in de zon, heerlijk. Bij informatie snauwde de dame dat ze niet niet open zijn. Wij nog vriendelijk, wanneer ze denkt wel open te zijn op het terras: waarop ze reageerde dat de eerste stoelen er pas staan en ze geen idee heeft wanneer ze open is. Ik nog een poging: een indicatie wellicht? NEE. Toen we ons omdraaide was ze aan het smulken tegen andere gasten dat ze toch echt geen idee kan hebben wanneer ze open zijn. Je begrijpt dat we daar natuurlijk niet beland zijn. Een ONHEMELSE ervaring. Toch ben ik ze dankbaar want we hebben een veel vriendelijker plekje gevonden bij Corazon, zeer vriendelijk personeel en heerlijk terras achter de winkel. Super vers eten en cakjes voor naar huis.

Good coffee. Sandwiches are ok but not special, bit thin/scarce bread. On Saturday afternoon it takes (understandably) a long time before you get something to eat.

Nice place, good food and open early.

Nice terrace in the middle of the long shopping street, very nice that it is still there. Staff are friendly. The music was a bit old-fashioned jazz, not something of the present. To reach the toilet you have to go down the stairs. Nice beer list and pastries look fresh.

I never imagined such a big restaurant inside. The interior design is very appealing. The waiters were very nice and always available even though we were more than 50 people. The food was nice.

Leuk, groot en toch gezellig cafe middenin Amersfoort. Leuke plek met prima bierkaart. Goede uitvalsbasis voor een tussenstop of afsluiter van een dagje Amersfoort!

Erg goede lunch en snelle service.

Heerlijk geluncht, zorg wel dat je op tijd aanwezig bent. De zaak zit zo vol.

Cajun patat was heel erg zout, hier moet je van houden. Service was snel en vriendelijk. Muziek stond te hard. Al met al redelijk als je snel iets wil eten/drinken. Prijzen waren prima.

Mooie locatie met goede bediening.

De pastinaaksoep met wrap was héérlijk. De clubsandwich met patat viel wat tegen: Erg klein, weinig beleg en veel patat. Leek eerder een bestelling van patat met daarbij nog iets.

Heerlijk geluncht in "Hemels" met mijn dochter. Ruime keuze, prachtig en sfeervol ingericht. En niet onbelangrijk vriendelijk personeel.

Superleuke plek voor een lunch of borrel, maar ook om privéfeestjes te vieren. De surpriseparty van mijn zusje vierden we bij Hemels en was zeer geslaagd! We hadden een eigen sfeervolle ruimte die we mochten versieren. Onze gasten genoten van de drankjes (onbeperkt) en de lekkere borrelhapjes. Bedankt voor de flexibiliteit en gastvrijheid. Echt een top locatie!

Eten was prima maar ik heb bij Hemels weleens beter gegeten om eerlijk te zijn. Het was mooi weer en we wilden graag buiten lunchen. We waren al eerder langs gelopen en toen werd gezegd dat het terras over 30 minuten gebruiksklaar zou zijn. Bij terugkomst was dit niet het geval. I Daarom uiteindelijk dan toch maar binnen geluncht. Als je iets niet kunt waarmaken, beloof het dan ook niet aan je gasten. Verwachtingsmanagement...

Amersfoort heeft ons verrast maar Hemels nog meer. Leuke bediening met hart voor de zaak en kennis over Amersfoort. Prima de weg gewezen. De zaak Hemels is ook prachtig met de oude muren en de toch moderne inrichting. Een sieraad voor de stad en je kunt er ook nog heerlijk lunchen.

Helaas niet meer de goede ervaring gehad als het verleden. Kroket op brood en makreel. Beide gerechten geserveerd op oud brood. Ondanks het brood te toasten, was het duudelijk te proeven dat het brood oud was. Een beetje garnering zal ook fijn ziijn.

Gezellig restaurant in de binnenstad. Terras iets verder. Vlotte bediening en lekkere taartjes. Lunchkaart zeer gevarieerd.

Mooi lokaal. Vriendelijke bediening en lekkere lunch gerechten. De inrichting is bijzonder en mooi.

Heel erg leuk, prachtig pand en vriendelijke en persoonlijke bediening. We gaan zeker terug.

Good food and lots of fun with the VR experience

Eten koud, en slecht service. Eten is niet lekker

'Hemels' inderdaad... in deze winkelstraat valt dit pand niet uit de toon, maar in de toon door de entourage en het aanbod van allerlei schotels en schoteltjes. Vriendelijke en vlotte bediening. Een aanrader voor het winkelend publiek en de toerist, die kijkmoe is geworden. Want Amersfoort heeft o.m. in deze straat wel wat aan te bieden aan de toeristen: gevels uit 'oude tijden'.
