Top spot for humans and dogs! Had a delicious drink here 🍻 in this cozy place with a super dog-friendly atmosphere! The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, perfect for a nice walk with your four-legged friend 🐕💨. The staff is incredibly friendly and the dogs (yes, they have four of their own roaming freely!) only make it more fun. The food looked great, but we simply enjoyed the drinks and the good vibes. Highly recommended for anyone who loves dogs, peace and quiet, and Brabant hospitality!

We stayed in a cottage at De Vrolijke Jager and enjoyed a delicious breakfast on the terrace in the morning! And of course, a bite and a drink at other times as well. The service is fantastic! You feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble! The value for money is excellent!

It has been nicely renovated, but somehow it still seems to lack a bit of atmosphere. It does have a lovely fireplace, though. Update 2026: it isn't really inviting, so we had lunch at Jacobus.

Today I went out with my 89-year-old mother on the tandem bike. AMAZING!!! Incredibly friendly people who helped adjust the bike. My mother didn't have to pedal and sat comfortably. We took a beautiful ride of nearly 30 km through the fields and the forest. With the assistance, this went more than perfectly. It had been years since my mother had been out on a bike. We enjoyed it immensely. And afterwards, a nice drink on the terrace. Highly recommended!!!

What amazing service! Unfortunately, I lost my public transport pass while paying for a delicious cup of tea. After a phone call, it turned out to have been found on the terrace. My pass was neatly forwarded to my private address by post. Amazing customer friendliness. We will certainly be visiting this terrace more often.

We recently ended up here as a meeting point for our annual family day, which was held in this area. Since some of us had to drive for an hour or an hour and a half, we decided to grab a coffee here. It was a huge disappointment. They serve a kind of vending machine instant coffee that wouldn't have been out of place in the 80s. And all that for €3.00! Hey, Vrolijke Jager, this is really unacceptable! This is definitely not the place to go for a good cup of coffee!

Yes, we've eaten here several times with our family, a somewhat larger group (40+ people). The owners are super friendly, proactive, and helpful. The staff is also excellent; they pick up on things, don't forget you, work hard, and are genuinely pleasant and friendly. Highly recommended, even for larger groups.

We had a wonderful and sunny family weekend at De Vrolijke Jager. We rented eight cottages and enjoyed delicious food and drinks together, as well as plenty of walks in the wooded surroundings. The Brabant hospitality begins the moment we arrive; we were warmly welcomed by the owners, Josephine and Ad. The detached cottages are well-equipped and clean. You can arrange your own breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or indulge yourself in the restaurant. This is highly recommended. We've already booked eight more cottages for our 2026 family weekend.

We stayed there for six days in a cottage. Everything was perfectly arranged: beds were made, towels were provided, and there was even coffee, milk, and sugar. We had breakfast and a delicious dinner in the restaurant every day. The staff were friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

We had a family weekend in the house behind the restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful weather and the surroundings. The cottage was fantastic, the beds were wonderful, and the rest of the house was nicely decorated. We also had a drink at the restaurant, the staff were friendly, and the owner and his wife are wonderful people. We'll be back next year for a family weekend. There were 14 of us.

Spent a weekend with a group of friends in their nature houses. The houses provide everything you need, they are tastefully decorated, have good beds and are located in a beautiful area in the middle of nature. A beautiful terrace has been created between the houses with a fireplace and atmospheric lighting. Josephine and Ad are helpful, friendly and flexible. In addition to the houses, they have a beautiful large terrace with a nice menu for lunch, dinner or just a drink. Highly recommended to everyone. Dogs are very kindly received

Beautiful Inn where everything is taken care of down to the last detail. Very hospitable people and good service. Situated in a beautiful environment we were in the very well maintained Tiny houses with a private fire pit.

I will not return here again, the rudeness with which the guests were addressed by the owner is far below par. That's not how you speak to your guests. Everyone could enjoy the tone with which the man spoke to the man. Not fun for other guests either. An English-speaking lady sat down at our table with a sandwich in her hand. She did not understand what was said earlier about the fact that you are not allowed to eat food you bring with you. Suddenly a man came behind us and started shouting with fire in his eyes, the people at our table were not aware of any harm. What an attack and aggression from this man. When we indicated that he could express it in a different tone and that the lady in question did not understand it because she is English, he said: I don't care, it is my restaurant. Well man, do something about your communication and take a walk every now and then, that will do you good. Because hospitality is hard to find in you.

Very unfriendly staff. I have never experienced someone walking out from the kitchen and shouting at guests on the terrace. “We are the boss here,” was shouted. Regardless of the reason, you don't shout at people on your terrace who have simply ordered. Customer is clearly not king here. I won't be coming back here again.

We won't be coming back here again. We sat at a quiet table in the corner with our dog, having a nice drink and the food was ordered. We were then asked to move to a small table in the middle where a vase now stood, very inconvenient with a dog. Four people had just arrived and the waitress apparently wanted to seat them as well. After a refusal, we were asked to stand up. The text was, we are a restaurant for people and not for dogs. Well, we, humans too, were apparently not important enough. We were planning a big dinner here for our anniversary, but we are going to reserve it somewhere else. We left and only paid for the drinks. What a disappointment.

Nice place to sit but not for a cup of coffee. Such a business must invest in a good coffee machine because this coffee is canteen quality. That's a shame, so it's a reason for me not to go there anymore until this gets better. Furthermore, it looks cozy.

We slept here for three nights on a business trip, very beautiful surroundings, comfortable houses for accommodation, a nice married couple were the staff. I recommend this place for accommodation and food.
