Today, it wasn't really busy when we arrived, but tables were covered in clutter and hadn't been cleared. Customers had to ask for their own tables to be cleared from previous diners. The waitress was completely disinterested. The prices were excessive and very high! After waiting too long for service, we left and went to De Vossenberg restaurant across the street—it's fantastic! A message to the owner of Aunt Sjaan's: look at your colleagues across the street to see how things should be done. It was packed, and the service was excellent and the tables were clean.

Nice place. Well-prepared meal. Old, worn menus, beautiful Christmas decorations, friendly service. But despite ordering the wrong cocktail, we were charged full price even though it was incorrect. It's a shame.

We had a delicious meal at Tante Sjaan's on New Year's Day. We enjoyed the tenderloin and rib-eye steak. Cutting down on meat hasn't worked yet on this first day of 2026. 😊 The service was very friendly, even though they were incredibly busy.

Unfortunately, it was a disappointing lunch spot. We'd often been here for work in the past. This time with my partner. Upon arrival, the first woman allowed us to choose a spot. Finding a truly empty table proved difficult, as 70% of the tables still needed to be cleared. We found a spot. The second woman barked at us asking if we had a reservation and what we wanted to drink. We did indeed have a reservation for lunch. We ordered our drinks and were given two cards. We both took the midday snack. My boyfriend asked if he could have mustard soup instead of tomato soup. The second woman found this very difficult, but with a grimace and a deep sigh, he was given permission. The second woman could be very friendly, albeit fake. Apparently, a lot went wrong with the food at the table behind us, and they responded very condescendingly and apologized with many fake smiles. I think there were three women serving, besides the kitchen. The pace of all the women was deplorable. It's understandable that people had to wait so long and none of the tables were cleared. The food was acceptable. I had the vegetarian option of the 12-hour meal. The beet salad was literally cubes of beetroot on a bun. Red onion was sprinkled all over the plate. The garnish was brown and the cucumber was runny. The soup and croquette sandwich were delicious. The coffee was also good. If you want more drinks, order them immediately because no one comes around for a second round, and you'll be expertly ignored. We heard two other tables irritatedly ask if they could order something after waiting 20 minutes. The atmosphere is okay, but the dirty, uncleaned tables don't help the mood. I understand that there might be a shortage of staff. But considering they had plenty of time to chat among themselves at the bar, and the pace wasn't exactly brisk, I don't think that was the only issue. I found the price high for everything that went wrong and the poor service.

A neat place with private parking. Reservations are recommended to avoid disappointment. Dishes are small and reasonably priced. We didn't see any culinary highlights, but that's not what you come for. The downside was that there were only two waitresses, resulting in many dirty tables and a long wait for orders to be taken/served. This made it impossible to have a quick bite.

Only positives. If I lived nearby, I'd know what to do.

On December 5th, four of us unexpectedly dined with Social Deals. I had a general feeling that the price wouldn't be good. Not specifically for this restaurant, mind you! But we definitely came back from that. Simply perfect: pleasant service, cozy atmosphere, and delicious food. Definitely worth repeating.

After a day spent exploring the Veluwe, we enjoyed dinner here at Tantje Sjaan. We arrived early, so we were able to choose a comfortable table at our leisure. We received a friendly welcome from the waiters/hosts. We were politely asked if we'd like anything to drink, and the menu was explained (social deal). There was also a game menu. The men's carpaccio was delicious, as was the chicken soup. For our main course, we had rib-eye steak and venison steak, served with fries/baby potatoes, vegetables, and a sauce. It was delicious, with generous portions. And for dessert, we had Dame Blanche and the Tante Sjaan ice cream sundae. Simply delicious, honest food at a great price. I'm looking forward to the next time.

Pros: the atmosphere is nice Cons: very long waiting time for the food (though just a few tables were occupied), big sign in front of the restaurant advertising that many wild meat dishes, reality though is non they had on the menu; also the waiter answered very rude when we were asking about it; the food was also not delicious

Tante Sjaan is a gem in Vierhouten! The pub food is hearty and delicious, with excellent belegt broodjes and an amazing mustard soup with zalm that’s a must-try. Service is professional, quick, and super friendly. Great selection of bottled and tap beers too. Highly recommend!

I had a delicious chicken sandwich this afternoon. It was very tasty, tender, and rich in flavor. A solid 10+ for this. I come here almost every week to unload with the truck, if they do it on my route, of course. Friendly staff, very friendly service. Highly recommended, 10+. Very hospitable—a real atmosphere and experience.

They were half full on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, but when I asked if we could just sit down somewhere, I was rudely told, "Yes, but we're completely full and you'll have to wait at least 45 minutes." She meant they weren't staffed that day, so we happily sat across the street. We had a delicious lunch there and the service was very pleasant, all with minimal wait times.

A nice place to sit after cycling. Coffee and something to eat, or lunch. Friendly service. Sunny view of three streets that converge. Clean restrooms.

Delicious dinner, friendly service, beautiful location

The carpaccio starter was tasty/good but a bit boring/just like any other. The main course was good. I had the spare ribs, and the bone fell right off and was delicious. The fries were nice and hot. However, I find it a bit odd that when you're enjoying a nice meal out, you have to take your plate from the waiter yourself and remind them that you'd also like a drink. It's a cozy, busy place, but when we were there, we happened to be between two busy periods, so an excuse for being short-staffed isn't possible at that time. In short, it's a cozy and good place, but the waitstaff still needs some training. So, it's still highly recommended 👍🏻🤘

It was truly amazing today. The staff was in a great mood, and the food was excellent. My steak was just well-done instead of medium rare, but the taste was still fantastic!

The food offered online is not available. Wait times are horribly, truly horribly long. Unfortunately for us, never again! Unless we feel like waiting an hour for every dish again...

Horrible experience on August 26, 2025, with four people dining out (reservations). Unfortunately, something went wrong with the drinks. We ordered two medium ribeyes, and we received two steaks. We accepted this, but the steaks were overcooked. We then sent them back, and the other dishes weren't served correctly (they were stacked on top of each other and therefore squashed). We also accepted this, and then there were two people eating, but the intention was for the four of us to enjoy a meal together. Then the ribeye arrived, unfortunately, it was overcooked again. At that point, we were done with it. One of us politely went inside to report that it wasn't okay. The staff then got into a nasty argument with us. We paid for two meals and left with a hangover and empty stomachs. Regards, Frank

Had coffee and apple pie last week. Quite pricey. They used whipped cream, so I ended up with a pee. Unfriendly staff. Nice atmosphere and good music, though.

Good food for a reasonable price.

Had lunch there, which was fine, but average for the price. Very thick bread. I had a 12-hour meal and it came with salmon; I don't like fish. I asked if I could have a cappuccino with it (I thought it would be about the same price). But that wasn't allowed, and I ended up with two brie sandwiches.

The food was delicious, but it took too long. We sat for over three hours. We were told at the table that there were only two people in the kitchen, but you could still make reservations until the very last minute.

Our neighboring table got steak instead of rib-eye... they would have eaten it, but it was completely overcooked... the rib-eye arrived, and it was bent from being overcooked... Our own portion of goulash, which the waiter called a "very generous portion," was tasty, but not generous at all! The rice was two tablespoons long, and the meat wasn't much more... the female waiter argued with me about it and said we were being difficult because our neighbors were already so difficult... oh well...

We had a delicious lunch; it was more than enough! No expense spared! We love that. The food was also excellent.

Never waited so long to be served in my life. A waitress said she would come and take our order once she got rid of a plate but then came back out and was just chatting to other customers. The restaurant wasn't remotely busy eitger. Didn't want our business so we walked out and went over the road.

We've been coming here for years. We enjoy the surroundings and have lunch or dinner at Tante Sjaan. Especially in the fall when the game menu is back 👍🏻

A lovely inn with a lovely, large, mostly covered terrace. Parking was difficult because there were bicycles parked across the parking lot, making it difficult to drive in. The food was delicious. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

For the second time at Aunt Sjaan's, first time perfect, second time very bad, had to wait a long time for the order to be taken, when it was taken I first got the food and only halfway through the drink, then you also get cheated with the bill for a veal schnitzel menu with cola for 35.55 euros is a lot of money, a shame but not until next time Johan

Scammers! Booked through a social deal for 6 people a la carte for €143.70, excluding drinks and extras. We had to pay a whopping €115 extra for the following: 3 draft wheat beers, 1 red wine, 1 Crodino, 1 Aperol Spritz, 1 cola, 1 milk, 1 gin and tonic, 1 cappuccino with apple pie, 1 portion of fries with mayonnaise, and 2 mushroom sauces, unfortunately without mushrooms. We also didn't receive a receipt, which makes it even more suspicious. We had to wait a very long time for our food: we were there at 6:00 PM and didn't receive the first course until 45 minutes later, then had to wait another hour for the second course, which, incidentally, was served lukewarm. The veal schnitzel was hard and chewy, full of gummy bits, and then we had to wait another half hour for the partially melted third course. That works out to a 6:00 PM arrival and a 10:00 PM departure—absolutely ridiculous! We had four different waitresses/waiters, and we were asked five times if we wanted more drinks, even though everyone's glasses were still half full. When we got home, we realized it couldn't possibly have been €115 for the extras. We feel ripped off and will never go to Aunt Sjaan again, and we'll advise everyone against it! You get more for your money across the street at Vossenberg. It's a shame, and we're so disappointed with the money!

Delicious food and friendly service.

We waited half an hour before we could even order. And then it took another 45 minutes before we even got our food.

Waiting times were very, very long. We had to wait almost an hour before we were able to order food. Even though we had ordered 3 courses at once, every course took another 30 minutes to arrive. Drinks are too expensive. The food was really good though, and the portions are decent.

We had a lovely time on the terrace, it was pleasantly busy, and the service was great! The food was delicious!

First visit. Three 0.0 beers for 15 euros is a lot. Way too much for basically lemonade. Second visit: apple pie with whipped cream. The apple pie was okay, but the most disgusting whipped cream I've ever eaten. It sat in a puddle of water that came out and soaked into the apple pie. So terribly disgusting. Absolutely no point in the whipped cream diluted with water. I'll never come here again.

Had a lovely walk and was ready for lunch. The name says it all. Old glory. The terrace is still half full. At the bar, two ladies in white waiters were engaged in conversation. And they stayed that way for a long time. So long that I left again; they hadn't anticipated my arrival.

We had drinks here twice during our vacation. The food and drinks were good. When it was about to rain, we were warned so we could move under the canopy in time. The atmosphere is good, nicely decorated. Not too dark. Nice decor.

Great place if you don't want to eat or drink ;-) What abysmal service due to a lack of staff, yet they still cram the restaurant full of customers. That doesn't work, of course. Just find another restaurant nearby. Aunt Sjaan can do better with far fewer customers...

Last Saturday, I ate here with my partner. It was very busy in the area, and we were glad we could still find a table and eat here. First of all, the staff is super friendly! They're always ready to help guests. A genuine smile on the server's face. They regularly check on your order and whether everything is to your liking, without being pushy. Moreover: We started with the prawns to share! It was a good portion to start with. For the main course, we both had the satay. We noticed that the pickled vegetables were homemade! It was delicious. The dessert (pictured) was also homemade and highly recommended: Panna cotta with salted caramel! Lovely red flowers on the terrace, which fits the theme! Conclusion: if you're looking for a relaxed place to eat, this is more than adequate! It's not a culinary highlight, but you're guaranteed a pleasant evening with delicious food!

The food was delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they were happy to chat. There was a birthday boy in our group, and they immediately made sure he was put in the spotlight! There was one waitress who really stood out (a young woman with a ponytail/braid) who served us and made sure we had a wonderful evening!

Had a lovely meal at Aunt Sjaan's and a glass of wine. Booked via social daels. Great reception. Table picked out in the conservatory. Excellent service by various people. All friendly. Looked at the menu and had a 3-course meal. Delicious oven-baked mushrooms as a starter, something special. Sea bass as a main course. And creme brulee for dessert. All courses were delicious.

Good food and friendly service! The heat does stay under the parasol, but that is of course not only a problem at this place. We had the carpaccio sandwich and the midday snack.

We wanted to have lunch, the drinks came quickly only the lunch did not come, after indicating that we wanted to have lunch no one came to pick it up. 2 non-alcoholic drinks 8.50, quite expensive.

A very nice place, nice screened terrace. Tasty snacks with an extensive beer menu. Very fast and smooth service. Caroline was a very funny, cheerful, entertaining and eloquent waitress. Especially for her we went back a second time. A real asset to the business.

Had a delicious apple pie with drinks. Both waitresses did their best to serve everyone as quickly as possible. Restaurant and terrace are located on a busy street in Vierhouten. You can hold out here for a while.

Cosy terrace where you can sit comfortably — there is always something to see at the crossroads in Vierhouten. Especially on a sunny day a nice place. Parking is a bit difficult when it is busy. The staff is extremely friendly and really does their best, but you notice that there is little experience in catering. We ate a three-course menu with five people. The carpaccio was generous and tasty, but the garlic shrimps were disappointing — both in terms of quantity and presentation. The veal schnitzel was dry and not well prepared. We indicated this and as compensation we were offered something to drink at the end of the meal. The fish, on the other hand, was well prepared. The desserts were also fine. When paying, unexpected extra costs were charged. Fortunately, we asked for the bill first and did not pay those costs. The location is pleasant, but we were disappointed with both the quality of the food and the way everything was handled — there is still a lot to improve in several areas.

Cosy place with a nice terrace — especially nice to dine here on a warm evening. The atmosphere is pleasant, the staff friendly and polite. We had dinner here with my husband: I ordered oven-baked mushrooms and seasonal vegetables (according to the menu — €5.90), but got another dish for €12.50. Fortunately it was tasty, but it would have been nice if they had indicated that it had been replaced. My husband ordered beef ribeye and was not satisfied: the meat was poorly cooked and according to him of inferior quality. He also asked for the dish to be served with fries, but they were not brought. It is a nice place, but the kitchen and attention to detail could still be improved.

More than 20 minutes after we sat down outside, there is still no one there. The staff avoids all eye contact while it was not busy at all. Eventually we order inside. More than half an hour later they bring a meal that makes you feel better at home. Again, no one comes by to ask if everything is to your liking. You don't even get the chance to talk to someone for another drink or something, they completely ignore you.

Food was very good, but we had to wait an hour for it. Can't get a smile from the staff. Very chaotic. Several customers asked where their order was, we didn't take dessert, we were done with it.

Veel te hogen prijzen voor wat krijgt ( snackbar kwaliteit), ook nog slecht bereid. Met 7 gegeten waarvan 1 eten pas kreeg toen 6 klaar waren en na herhaaldelijk vragen. Bestek werd op tafel gesmeten. Ze zullen het ( te) druk hebben met onervaren personeel maar lost zich vanzelf op als ze zo doorgaan.

The food was delicious, grilled vegetables on the plate were cold, tenderloin was great, we ate with social deal, had to pass on the 3 course menu immediately, but we had to wait an hour between courses, which is way too long. Too little staff. We also found it very cramped inside, close together.

Tonight we booked for 18:00, we were there at 17:50. We didn't get our starter until 18:35 and at 19:15 we still didn't have a main course. Some people didn't have a starter either, so we asked what time we could eat. We were told five minutes. We went at 19:30, like many others, because the waiting times were up to 2 hours. We understand staff shortages, but don't book all the tables full. In the end, our starter was waived

The spareribs were excellent. And the sea bass was delicious, a lot for someone who is not such a big eater. We really enjoyed it outside in the sun. (What I did have at night, but whether that was from eating or throwing up twice??) But that doesn't stop me from going there again when we are in the area.

In itself it's a lovely place to sit, but the prices are Amsterdam prices, almost 12 euros for an ordinary sandwich.

Had a nice meal at Tante Sjaan via Social Deal, food is tasty and sufficient. Service friendly and fast. Only downside is that the menu does not mention what you have to pay extra when you book via SD. For the rest a great address for a nice bite to eat.

Vorige week met vrienden hier gegeten. Zaten op terras. Mooie locatie, onder de bomen. Gerechten waren prima bereid en was zeker voldoende. Bediening liet te wensen over. Duurde erg lang voordat eerste drankje op tafel stond. Hoofdgerecht werd geserveerd terwijl lege borden van voorgerecht nog op tafel stonden. Bestek was men vergeten. Paar keer drankjes vergeten. Duurde ruim een uur tussen hoofd- en nagerecht. Je ziet aan alles dat er te weinig sturing is mbt. de bediening. Jammer, want rest is prima in orde.

We had a nice lunch here. However, a cup of soup for € 9.90 and then not even 150 cc of soup (how much is a cup of tea in comparison) is very meager and little. For this price you can expect a good cup of soup. In my opinion, this is the wrong way to earn money. For the rest, the sandwiches were delicious. Staff caring. The 2 staff members had their hands full with the full tent. Well done. Except for the soup, a solid pass.

On Thursday, May 8, 2025, I had lunch with my daughter at Sjaan's noon, in a word, enjoyed it and had a delicious meal. Definitely a place to go back to!

Delicious dishes! Good portions! Lots of things went wrong 😂 staff really does their best, especially 1 young man who arranges everything! Drinks from the company for any misunderstandings. We could laugh about it, other customers could not. We had vouchers via social deal, otherwise quite pricey!

Very good quality and quantity of food

The restaurant has a nice location and the dishes we got were ok in taste. Unfortunately the portions were very small in relation to the price. The service was also not flawless: the staff was slow, inexperienced and only spoke English. Cutlery was not ready and we had to ask for it separately. In addition, the spare ribs — which we wanted to order — quickly sold out, as did the beer. All in all it wasn't a bad experience in terms of food, but the organization and value for money clearly left a lot to be desired.
