Hey Koning Huys We arrived in the city on our way to The Hague and were looking for a late breakfast and a good coffee. We came across this place and decided to stop. The atmosphere is typically Dutch — the place is more than vintage, but in a really nice way. The food was good and there was plenty of it, definitely not a small breakfast! The terrace was full, with people enjoying the good weather, smiling and taking their time. We relaxed there, enjoyed our breakfast and coffee, and really liked the atmosphere. Sometimes, that’s all you need!

Nice spot on the market square in Delft. Tasty specials, the Club40 is highly recommended. Varied menu with old classics and fun, innovative ideas. Also a nice non-alcoholic selection.

What a lovely terrace on a great square. The food was superb and the service very fast; we had booked a city walk, so we were in a bit of a rush.

They even gave an umbrella in the rain.

The place is fantastic. When the waitress asked how it tasted, I honestly admitted that the dessert was not tasty. She then offered a chocolate... we thought, what service. Charging 3 euros for a chocolate meant we didn't offer a tip. If you spend 160 euros and one element is tasteless, you come up with a solution. Now you miss out on a 10% tip. The place is great for the starters and main courses too, and we thought it was a shame to offer a chocolate for a dish that simply didn't taste good and still charge for it. The service was friendly, by the way, and otherwise we had a nice evening.

The service was very poor. We were shown to a table that had not yet been cleaned. While cleaning, the waiter dropped a jar of mustard on my white t-shirt and my shorts. The worst part was that she acted as if she hadn't seen it and didn't even apologize. Ridiculous. The food was good and the atmosphere is pleasant, but the service was a real shame.

Super nice place!!! Definitely go there for drinks, dinner, or lunch! They also have delicious coffee and apple pie, and that’s not even mentioning the staff!! They are such a star, I can't get enough of this place!

Had a delicious meal at Het Konings Huys on the Market Square in the center of Delft! 🍻 We were immediately attended to upon entering and were able to take a seat at a nice spot on the terrace. We enjoyed a nice beer and the delicious dishes from the menu. A special treat was the friendly young lady who served us. She showed genuine attention to us, struck up a pleasant chat every now and then, and thereby created a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. In short: a wonderful place for good food, a good drink, and friendly service. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back again!

Very unpleasant service. We ordered a tray to accompany our aperitif, but received it with our main courses. We ordered mussels with beer, but they were most likely served with white wine. Disappointed.

I ordered the club sandwich and it is definitely not worth repeating. Otherwise, good service, good atmosphere on a beautiful terrace. Maybe next time I'll order a toasted sandwich. Not much can go wrong with that.

Beautiful location, but shameful handling of a justified complaint The large terrace on the Market Square in Delft looks inviting and seemed like a nice place for us to celebrate my wife's birthday. She ordered mussels and I ordered a rare sirloin steak. Because I don't eat potatoes, I asked for some extra warm vegetables. That resulted in exactly one extra florets of cauliflower. The cauliflower tasted fine and the chimichurri was excellent too. Unfortunately, those were immediately the only positive points of my dish. The sirloin steak was full of tough sinews and was therefore barely edible. When I pointed this out, my half-eaten piece of meat was taken to the kitchen. A few minutes later, I simply received the same plate back. The chef's message was that I had ordered the meat rare and that he could not see beforehand how much fat it would contain. That answer makes no sense. Fat and sinews are not the same thing, and the cooking method has nothing to do with the amount of tough connective tissue in a piece of meat. The fact that a cook apparently does not know this difference is already worrying. The fact that the wait staff subsequently came to the table to defend this nonsense without any form of apology makes it even worse. Afterward, a manager appeared who did not resolve the situation but allowed it to escalate completely. She seriously claimed that I should have ordered the meat medium and insisted that fat and sinew are the same thing. This demonstrates a shocking lack of product knowledge. Even worse was her attitude. While she herself constantly talked over my explanation, she kept silencing me with remarks such as: “May I finish my story?” and “Could you let me finish speaking?” A particularly arrogant, condescending, and disrespectful way to treat a paying customer. Instead of listening to the complaint, offering apologies, and taking responsibility, an attempt was made to convince me that the problem lay with my order. That is not hospitality, but pure customer brush-off. In the end, I was offered a new piece of meat. After this rude treatment, I naturally had no desire for it. The evening and my wife's birthday had by then been pretty much ruined. The manager left without a sincere apology and seemed to be mainly offended himself. A hospitality establishment in such a prime location should know better. Beautiful tables, a large terrace, and good chimichurri are worthless when the kitchen lacks sufficient product knowledge and the management does not know how to handle criticism. My advice: first learn the difference between fat and sinew, train the staff in handling complaints, and appoint a manager who understands that hospitality is about listening, respect, and taking responsibility. Because of this shameful treatment, I am reluctantly giving two stars. For the service alone, one star would still be generous.

What a wonderful experience at Het Konings Huys in Delft! The dishes were truly delicious and clearly prepared with care. The staff was incredibly friendly, gave us plenty of space to enjoy ourselves in peace, and ensured that we felt immediately at ease and wanted for nothing. From the warm welcome upon arrival to the hospitable farewell: everything was perfect. You really feel like a valued guest here. We will definitely be back!

Nowhere in the Netherlands will you find mini frikandelletjes speciaal as a snack🥳😍 that alone is a reason to travel to Delft. Add a bottle of pink bubbly to wash it all down and you have a fantastic afternoon🤸💜 nice, good-looking students serving by the way, really fun

The staff who were working did their best. The staff who had finished working went to sit at a table on the terrace with seven people, talking loudly and smoking where we were eating.

Delicious food, incredible chef's special. We were here in the summer and enjoyed the patio very much even though the weather was hot. Definitely recommend for dinner or drinks.

We simply looked for a cozy spot in the large square to sit and eat. We had the Kipburger twice, and it was very tasty. The fries were fantastic, and the burger was good, especially the sauce. One small drawback: the chicken patty seemed frozen, flat, and uniformly breaded; I would have preferred a freshly breaded one. But it was good, and we would come again.

The view is amazing, the chef's soup and mussels are delicious. I recommend it.

The service was superb, provided by waitress Eva among others; she deserves an extra compliment. The food was very tasty and beautifully presented; we were clearly informed in advance how long it would take if we wanted the main course to arrive. That extra thoughtfulness in this regard shows me that you are committed to creating a great customer experience as a business! Keep up the good work!

Tourist in my own country. When you are abroad sitting on a historic square surrounded by charming little houses, it is about making memories, but you can do that here too. Cozy spot for a touristy beer and snack.

We had a lovely time, but the service was poor. We were seated on the front terrace (table 621) and consumed 3 drinks per person within a span of 2 hours. Every time, we had to ask passing staff if we could have another drink. It's a shame, because it really is a beautiful terrace with a good atmosphere. So much more could be served.

Pleasant terrace in a prime location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Not recommended: the Koningsburger. The burger looks just like a deep-fried burger... For 21 euros, it really wasn't worth it at all. After I complained to the staff, they did kindly ask if I wanted a new one. Again: staff is great, burger was truly terrible.

We had lunch at Het Koningshuys to celebrate our birthdays. It was delicious, impeccably presented, and when the staff heard that we were celebrating our birthdays, they surprised us with a mocktail that they brought to us while singing. Wonderful!

Nice spot in the city center, friendly staff. However, charging 5.70 for a flat white that isn't a flat white and is undrinkable is downright scandalous. As are other prices I saw on the drinks menu. So, no return visit for us; there are nicer places in the city with better prices (this feels a bit like Amsterdam).

We dined here with a group of 58 people. We maintained excellent communication beforehand regarding the number of guests and the menu. The evening itself went smoothly, and the service was prompt and friendly. This dinner was also highly appreciated by our guests.

Lovely Cafe in the heart of Delft old town market square. We visited during a weekday in June. It's location is fabulous with gorgeous views of the square. Food was good too. We tried coffee and the Italian style frites with truffle mayo and shaved Parmesan cheese. Both were tasty. Service was nice but a bit slow. It was a great leisurely break during an afternoon sightseeing in Delft. Would recommend it for a lovely tourist stop.

Friendly staff and delicious food this afternoon! It was very thoughtful of you to offer the engaged couple a drink after he got down on his knee in front of your terrace to propose to his future husband. A sweet gesture that undoubtedly made this beautiful moment even more special for them.

I think most restaurants in a city center of a tourist area are a bit of a crap shoot. We were in Delft on a tour and given some free time. So, we randomly selected a restaurant for a quick meal. This turned out to be a good choice and just what we were looking for at the time. Beers and drinks all around for our group, and the prices were not high. Then on to the mail courses. A few salads and one tomato soup which those who ordered were pleased with. Quite a few others of us went for the Pork Schnitzel. It was excellent, good sized and not dry at all. Our server got us in and out quickly, which was exactly what we were looking for. Not fancy, not gourmet, not expensive. In the US, this quality of food would be what you find in a fast casual.

Great place, loved the location! We were there with 5 people and enjoyed the kip sate, drinks, dessert and coffee for a reasonable price and excellent service. We even purchased 6 wine glasses that they boxed up for us (Hopefully they'll survive the trip back to Canada). I can highly recommend Het Konings Huys!

The food was of great quality and taste. The size of the plates was smaller then i am used to but enough for a normal meal, probably too small if you are a big eater. Service was exceptionally good.

I will give one star only because of the service . We went there we was waiting half hour for someone to take our order . Mean while it was not busy and when I went to ask someone to come they say sorry we are closed we can’t take orders but the table next to us order normally . NEVER AGAIN

The staff were friendly and helpful. However, unfortunately, when we were almost finished eating, we discovered that there was mold on the bread. When I pointed this out to the waiter, the manager came over and checked it, and only then did I receive an apology. They charge 16.95 for a sandwich... surely I am entitled to expect good food. The bill was waived properly, though. But if we are sick tomorrow, we know exactly why. This is the last time I will be coming here. What a shame!

Despite having a reservation, I had to wait for a table and even arrange one myself. Angus burger - the meat was dry, I think it was fried too long. I also had to ask for a drink I ordered with my meal.

The waitress was incredibly unpleasant; she deliberately pulled my two-year-old daughter's hair. She was extremely lucky that my daughter didn't tell me about what the waitress did to her and that I wasn't in my own country, otherwise she would never have been able to work again. If you can't handle the pressure of a shift, you should change careers. Customers aren't there to be your punching bag, and certainly not a baby. Otherwise, the food was good. It could have been a very pleasant experience if it weren't for that waitress. To the restaurant manager, please check your staff and get rid of this person. It's unacceptable to treat a baby like that.
