She called this a "grilled sandwich." Not recommended at all for these ridiculous prices!

Nice location, mediocre to bad food. Canned soup, soggy croissant, and overcooked Kaiser roll with a slice of factory-made cheese for €10. It's really not worth it. The women behind the counter are friendly but not very assertive.

Maybe the worst museumcafé I've ever experienced. First of all the service is almost non-existing. Waiting for ages just to place an order or ask for some cutlery. The doors where open all the time, even though it was 15 degrees outside, so it was cold and everyone kept their coats on. The food is of very low quality and feels like your eating in a building-site canteen...'broodje bal' is a cafetaria quality meatball on a white sandwich with some gravy. It made me feel sick to the stomach. Horrible. For kids they only sell tosti's (which is okay) or fries with fried snacks on the side, so old fashioned minded. It's attached to a child-focussed museum... The tosti was hardly toasted, as was the panini. Definitely NOT recommending to eat here.

Lovely little cafe here by the water! I ordered the "baked bread with ham and cheese" and it was delicious. Reasonably priced, one table was dirty but was quickly cleaned. Highly recommended if you visit this museum!

The server asked me to find a seat and wait to order. After a while, she came over and asked what I wanted to order. I pointed to the menu and told her my order. She confirmed and left. Then I waited for a long time without any news. said, and called someone else to serve me. I had to tell the new server that I was ready to leave and didn't want to order anything. The new server apparently had no problem understanding English. Additionally, there were many children in the store, and it was quite noisy, but since it's a cafe located near the maritime museum, it's normal to have lots of kids. Considering this kind of service attitude, I can only say that a rating of 3 for this store makes sense. After entering the store, the waitress told me to find a seat and wait to order. A while later, she came over and asked what I wanted to order. I pointed to the menu and told her what I wanted, and she confirmed and left. Then, after waiting a long time with no response, I went to the counter to ask. She asked me, "Have you ordered?" (That's where I ordered from). Then she said I should pay first (but she never told me to pay at the counter after I placed the order). Then she said she couldn't understand me and would call someone else to serve me. I had to tell the other waitress that I was leaving and didn't want to order anything. The other waitress clearly didn't have any comprehension difficulties; she understood English. Also, there were many children in the store, making the environment quite noisy, but that's normal for a museum. Regarding this service attitude, I can only say that this store's 3-star rating is justified.

Tiled floors, lots of windows, high, hard ceilings—in short, "acoustics like a crowded swimming pool." The service was mediocre (no napkins with pastries, for example). At 4 p.m., the terrace was cleared and all the chairs and tables were dragged into the restaurant. So cozy, that's all... Not recommended.

Had lunch with the kids. We ate a delicious hamburger, grilled cheese and fries for a very reasonable price. Nice place right on the harbour!

Not recommended to eat! Coffee fine but the 'fried sandwich with ham and cheese' really a failure. Bread barely toasted, too thick slice of just melted cheese on it, with the croque madame a cold poached egg. We thought you can't do much wrong with a toasted sandwich but it really wasn't tasty and particularly unsuitable for children. 2 stars instead of 1 because the coffee was fine

It was difficult to get in touch with the staff; there were four of them chatting happily. Orders took 30-45 minutes, and when you finally got your food, things like sauces, nuts, etc. were missing. The Nutella for the pancakes was frozen, so we didn't get anything. The croque madame was missing the béchamel sauce. The eggs Benedict with smoked salmon sandwich was two slices of bread without eggs Benedict. It was then brought back with a small poached egg and some sauce on top. The lemon chicken naan didn't have the promised sauce. In short, fine for a cup of coffee, but preparing and serving decent food unfortunately seems too much to ask.

Came in on a Thursday morning. Behind the counter where the staff worked there was water spilled all over the floor. They were standing in it and walking through it. Nobody mopped while I was there. I ordered a ginger tea and an apple tart. The tart was tasty and I liked the top crust, which was a crumble and crust combo and the dough has not been over worked and there was no glaze. It was served with whipped cream. Toilets for females (unfortunately still using binary gender designations on the doors.) were not well kept. One stall had no flushing mechanism. It was completely removed from the wall. Someone used it and left it unflushed.

Today I tried for the second time to get a piece of apple pie with our coffee for €1.50. Because of MM's 150th anniversary, this fun promotion will continue throughout 2024, according to various (social) media. I was also here last Sunday, when the apple pie had not been delivered at all, according to the staff. Today the cake was 'just finished'. (It was 2:15 p.m. . . .). Of course it can happen once in a while, I understand, but 2 weeks in a row? Moreover, we were not offered an alternative action either time. Shame.

A great restaurant/cafe with unbeatable prices. A piece of apple pie €1.50! The cappuccino was also very good. And an absolute plus: there is a small play area with a carpet for small children! 👍

If you want to pay the high bill with cash, even that is not allowed. Very customer friendly.

Ordered lunch, but the hot meal included what looked like a nice meal. It was like a hot dog with onions and japaleno peppers, nothing else added. Was worth more 7.50 than 12.50….

Be careful with the bill! We ordered 2 children's sandwiches. This was noted by the waiter because he repeated our order. However, when we asked for the bill, 2 adults were charged for toasted sandwiches. When we disputed this, they said that we should have reported this when our order arrived because we would have received a sandwich for adults. As a customer you have no idea what an adult's sandwich and a child's sandwich look like. This was incorrectly communicated by the waiter to the kitchen and the customer must pay for this. As a tourist you cannot argue against this. Scandalous!

Friendly service but you have to wait a long time for food. The food itself is fine but nothing special. There are too few and too unhealthy healthy options for children. That disappoints me because the accompanying museum is (also) aimed at children.

ORDER IS HALF OF LIFE. The shop is very very dirty. Could be a lot more if you did more. What a shame!

Leuke inrichting, vlak aan het water van de haven. Prijzen liggen hoger, maar dat komt door de ligging. Zeer vriendelijke bediening.
