The gentleman who served me was extremely kind from start to finish, the first good thing I've found in Dutch gastronomy. The prices are incredibly low.

A snack bar. The quality of the hamburgers varies greatly, from excellent to mediocre. When it's busy, the two employees are overworked, seemingly overwhelmed, and the service is abysmal. It's a shame, as it has a lot of potential, as you can see when it's quiet. What remains is "a snack bar."

Great store with a huge selection but also some items are very expensive.

Hot chips with curry sauce and chopped raw onions was excellent.

The atmosphere was okay, but the staff were terribly unfriendly and refused to issue a bill that the machine hadn't printed. The food was ice cold when I received it, even though I ordered it on the spot, as it was left standing for about eight minutes before it was handed out to me. We from the Ruhr area are often quite rude, but the behavior of the staff was simply terribly unfriendly.

We've eaten there twice now, and both times it was absolutely fantastic—both in terms of taste and price, absolutely top-notch for what you get. Definitely worth a visit for anyone who loves really good smash burgers and crispy fries.

I've been here several times, and it's always fantastic. The fries are made from fresh potatoes and are simply unbeatable. Amazing!

Top-notch fast food. We visited twice during our stay and had burgers, frikandel, and the outstanding homemade fries. You can conveniently order via the control panel and add or remove anything you like. The people behind the counter were also very friendly!

We were here with six people with disabilities and two carers – and it was simply fantastic! 🌟 The food was delicious, fresh, and highly recommended. We'd especially like to highlight the warmth and friendliness of the team: We were welcomed immediately and even received a free Coke for our large order and extra fries. You rarely experience such hospitality! A place where you truly feel at home – uncomplicated, delicious, and with great service. For us, an absolute must when in Zandvoort. 👍

The food itself was very tasty. However, there was mold on one of our cheeseburgers, which we didn't like. But we got a new one right away.

Very good and tasty burger. The price is reasonable considering the central location in Zandvoort. The fries also looked very good—but unfortunately, I didn't try them because I wasn't very hungry.

The fries are really delicious and highly recommended. We usually go there several times when we're in Zandvoort. Unfortunately, the setting wasn't quite right this time. While we were waiting for our fries, we noticed a somewhat older employee preparing various dishes such as burgers, Frikadel Spezial, and hot dogs. He prepared these dishes with his bare hands. Even though there was a spoon in the raw onions, for example, he picked them up with his dirty fingers. The Frikandel and the Bockwurst for the hot dog were also handled with his fingers, even though tongs were readily available. In between, he snacked on fries, rubbed the sweat from his forehead, and ran his hands through his hair. Without even washing his hands, it was truly unbelievably disgusting to watch. Luckily, our fries were prepared by another employee.

We ate there on August 4, 2025. Last year and the year before, the homemade hamburgers were great. But this year they were very bad. The bacon was practically raw. The bread was soggy (it was always pre-toasted) and the ingredients seemed to be completely different. Unfortunately, it's no longer comparable to the old days. It's a shame, as we always enjoyed eating burgers there.

We had an absolutely delicious handmade fries special. We also had fries with pulled pork, which was very tasty. If you like delicious fries, this is the place for you. 👍

The burgers look better in the pictures. They're quite small and collapsed on the plate. The fries with pulled pork were very tasty. Orders are placed via a terminal.

Something different to McDonald's, you can do it once in a while but that's fine.

Very cool and interesting food selection. We had a hot dog and a Smash Double Burger today. The burgers were delicious and juicy, and the fries were also very good. I'll have to go there again tomorrow before we leave. You can order at a terminal in German.

They have good ice cream here. It's very busy, though, so sitting here isn't ideal in my opinion.

Price performance is great. The food was amazing. We had cheeseburgers and a hot dog with fries and drinks. Everything was very tasty and the portions weren’t too big. Also the location is perfect - right in the city centre. Very nice.

Absolutely delicious. The Frikandel special with fries and chicken nuggets was delicious. The staff was very friendly.

The fries are world-class. The cheese sauce is also excellent. The burgers are also excellent. All in all, the place is more than worth a visit. The service is super friendly and helpful. The kids even got a small water pistol as a gift. You order at the counter or at a touchscreen, but the food is then brought to your table. The prices are completely justified. It's worth it.

It wasn't exactly our cup of tea. In my opinion, it's quite expensive for fast food. The burger wasn't particularly tasty, but it was good. The fries were delicious, as were the Dutch specialties. The atmosphere didn't appeal to me. Personally, I won't go back here. However, it's always busy and seems to be more suitable for others. It's best to try it yourself; I didn't really like it, but it wasn't bad.

Helped by some young guy, what a disgrace to your business someone like that. Not saying anything, no customer friendly nothing. Owner should look at what kind of people he hires.

Very tasty burgers and friendly service

These burgers here are great and the meals are actually a solid price. Since these are smash burgers and you are used to larger (or 1/2 lb) burgers, spend the extra to get a double patty. I got the single with cheese and bacon burger with fries and drink which turned out it was great, I wish there would be a little more lettuce and came with tomatoes by default, but overall literally no issues.

Fries are okay, but everything is too expensive. The Smashburger is just a sandwich and has nothing to do with smash.

We ordered and ate a burger, fries, and a drink there. €17 is quite a lot for that, especially since the burger wasn't really good, but rather bad. I would give it a 1/5. The fries were also substandard. Unfortunately, almost all of the tables and benches were in very poor condition.

Went to Plein for dinner today. Very friendly help from a nice guy with glasses (I forget his name). The atmosphere in Plein is very good and you notice the good vibe among the employees there. Order was delivered quickly and afterwards we were asked if everything was as expected. Quality of the food was also great! Fresh fries!! I recommend everyone to eat here.

On this beautiful summer day, our family (3 kids) took a lovely walk on the beach. Since it is 6 p.m. we thought we would have some fries at HET PLEIN. It was busy and the lady in the photo clearly couldn't handle it! The children were playing and out of nowhere we hear shouting, hey, stop shouting!!! This is what she says to our children!!!! My husband of course immediately puts her in her place and says that this is not the right way to do business!!! The lady made it very clear that she was not happy with this and kept shouting and screaming and she did this in front of all the customers. We have met the younger girls before and they are like that Nice girls. The food is delicious but there is clearly a jammer present who does not know how it works!!! Death and mortal sin.

My most recent experience at Het Plein Fast Food in Zandvoort was downright shocking, even though I have been coming here for 15 years. The employee with blonde/brown hair in a ponytail was not only extremely unfriendly, but exhibited behavior that I consider racist. This is absolutely unacceptable and a shame for a business that should respect customers and offer hospitality. Her attitude was so unprofessional and disrespectful that it is clear that she is completely unsuited for this job. As long as she works here, I will never buy anything here again. I recommend my friends to avoid this place.

Today I got another satay, it was rolled flat, the lettuce that came with it didn't look good and the fries were small pieces while they were normally very tasty, a pity!

Good snack bar. But unfortunately not a pleasant experience today. Owner was at work and brought us fries, he threw the tray on the table. And our fries/fries were almost cold. Shame. Hopefully better next time.

Good fries... But with relatively little potato flavor, even if the potatoes were fresh. In Germany I would probably have given these fries 5 stars. But if I now compare it with the Belgian or Dutch standard, then four stars are justified.

A week on holiday in the Netherlands for the first time, we won't forget the fries from Het Plein. Very tasty, fresh fries. Perfectly cooked, nice portion! The goulash croquette is the best I've ever known...🫶

Friet was hier altijd heerlijk, nu eenderde was zo te zien wel 3 keer gebakken, allemaal kleine aangebrande frieten. Helaas de laatste keer dus, ga zelf wel bakken!

Hamburgers enorm gekrompen. Lekkere saus vervangen door ketchup. Frites nog goed. Buitengewoon teleurstellend deze ontwikkeling. Als vaste klant baal ik hier enorm van. Einde verhaal voor mij.

As vegans, we were quite pleased to hear that not only were the fries vegan, but they also had a vegan mayo and vegan krokets! The people were very friendly and knew right away what was vegan. We had the fries and enjoyed them!

We were there for dinner on January 2nd, 2025. The snack bar is in the center of Zandvoort. Ordering was very easy, in German, at the machine, which we thought was great. Ordered fries, they were very tasty. The man who brought the fries to the table was very friendly and even spoke German. Now comes our point of criticism: the lady who prepared the burgers unfortunately doesn't pay much attention to hygiene She opened the new ketchup bottle with her teeth and took the chewing gum out of her mouth with her hand, that's not possible. We sat right where the burgers are being prepared and could see everything clearly. For these reasons we would never eat anything there again, hygiene is very important to us!!!!

I gave a top review 7 months ago because we really liked it... but today....... smash burger (dribble burger big advertisement)... yes ok then I can also put 3 meatballs on top of each other with sauce on top Done.. On the comment whether you have ever googled it/YouTube. That's exactly how we do it. No, I'm not really picky, but it's not possible to mess with the product.

I ordered the vegan burger and was happy to get vegan mayonnaise too. Ordering was easy at the terminal and the food arrived quickly. The terrace outside was nice to sit on and the food was really tasty. I would visit again.

Got two double Bacon burgers with some fries. I've had a lot of burgers, but these have been the most bland tasteless and on top awful looking burgers I had. Couldn't even finish eating it. Sorry, but even McDonald's or Burger King is gourmet food compared to this.

Like other large burger chains, you order your food via a monitor (possible in several languages) The burger was delicious and the fries were crispy. Unfortunately the portion was quite small, so if you want to fill yourself up you have to get a double or triple burger here 😉
