A unique place with an incredible atmosphere! The restaurant is located in a beautifully restored former train station building. The food is delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. The staff is also very friendly, smiling, and helpful. A perfect stop for coffee, lunch, or relaxation. I highly recommend it!

Such a cozy and welcoming place, perfect for a stop after a bike ride! The chef’s soup onion soup was absolutely delicious — perfectly seasoned, full of flavour, and not greasy at all. The fries were also fantastic, made from fresh potatoes and served with a delicious sauce. Very reasonable prices, great quality and fresh ingredients. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Beautiful location with something for everyone. They have a large parking lot. Perfect for holding a reception, celebrating a birthday, or just enjoying a nice meal. We had a delicious meal on the outdoor terrace. Children have access to the playground equipment so that the parents can enjoy themselves too. We brought the sunshine along as well. The lunch was amazing and did us a lot of good. Highly recommended for a visit. It is located next to the railway, but they have put up a good fence around the terrace. Excellent.

We hosted a successful celebratory drinks reception for family and friends at Het Tussenstation. Marit, Marieke, and the team went "above and beyond," which we and our guests greatly appreciated. The play area on the terrace ensured the children had a wonderful time while the adults enjoyed a drink and a snack. The interior was also very atmospheric. Communication was pleasant both before and during the reception, and they actively helped us brainstorm ideas. Highly recommended!

Celebrated my 60th surprise birthday last Saturday. What a party and reception. Everything was possible. Music, decorations. Service was top-notch. All the appetizers were very tasty and there was more than enough on offer. Finished off with delicious fries. A huge thank you to Marit and crew!! Definitely recommended if you have something to celebrate!

I recently visited the Tussenstation with my son to have a drink and play in the playground. Unfortunately, he hit his head hard there, which quickly resulted in a large bump that needed to be cooled. We received excellent help from the ladies at the Tussenstation. They immediately brought cooling packs, even gave my son an ice cream to calm his nerves, and reassured us with their kind words. Their concern and hospitality made an unpleasant situation much more bearable. Thank you again so much for the wonderful service and warm care! We will definitely be back!

Last Saturday, June 27th, from 5:00 PM onwards, I celebrated my birthday at Het Tussenstation. The outdoor space was entirely at our disposal. High tables, tables with chairs, and benches with nice cushions. There was also the option to do some decorating ourselves. If the weather didn't cooperate, there was plenty of room inside for our 40 guests. But the sun was still shining brightly. There was a brief shower in between, but everything was handled well and arranged perfectly. The drinks and "walking dinner" went smoothly and were incredibly enjoyable. Thank you, Marit and team; you were hospitable and very friendly.

My son (2) and I had breakfast here today, and it wasn't just delicious, the staff were super friendly, and besides the huge playground, which is really great, there are also trains running by outside – the absolute highlight for my son. Maybe I'll manage to come back for lunch sometime :)

Super fun for little train lovers! Inside, there is a table with coloring pages and books about trains. Outside, a train passes by every now and then. The terrace with a playground is ideal. There were five options for the cake. We will definitely come back here.

RACIST, RUDE Waitress. Watch out! We visited the restaurant a few weeks back during our trip to Keukenhof. We went there around lunch time and it was pretty much the only place open that day and there was one other person waiting to be seated. So you see, there wasn't a queue or anything.. The waitress who came to the gate just looking at us bluntly told us it would probably be a long wait and we wouldn't be able to eat. She on the other hand was really nice to the couple that followed us and immediately offered a table. Anyway, we ignored that and got seated eventually and we asked roughly how long it'll be before we will receive our food and she SNAPPED and said "Don't rush us,can you see how busy we are? If you want to eat quickly, you should probably go elsewhere". Uh excuse me? I was just asking how long it will be. Not rushing you, my God what temper. We were the only brown people in the restaurant and you could clearly sense that she wasn't comfortable serving us. Racist much? And then the food came after 20 mins, which was totally normal. We ordered the only two vegetarian items on the menu, the fries and the goats cheese sandwich. Nothing great to say about the food, it was average. The attitude of the waitress though, that leaves a lot to be desired. She, in the meantime gleefully chatted away with the customers at the other tables, making small talk asking how everything was. She did not even pass by our table once. We asked for some sauce on the side to which she was bad mouthing us to a fellow colleague(we have ears) . It was VERY CLEAR how she treated us in comparison to others. If you are curious who this person is, she's the really chatty, friendly one. You'll not miss her. Ofcourse only friendly if you are white. I'm not saying it's the job of a waitress to be friendly. But rude and humiliating for no reason? That's simply unacceptable. Overall, terrible experience! I wish the restaurant would do something about this kind of service. Never coming back here again.!!

We always enjoy coming to this café, especially when we are welcomed by Marit. There is always a high level of service and genuine attention for the customers, even when she is tired. We wish the café and Marit much success and look forward to coming back!

Really convenient location, right near the station and perfect as a stop for those on the go, especially by bike. The atmosphere is simple but welcoming, ideal for a relaxing break. I had a quick lunch, but everything was very good, with quick and efficient service. Perfect if you want to eat well without wasting too much time. They didn't give me a receipt. Recommended for those passing through the area or for those riding the beautiful Dutch cycle paths 🚴‍♂️

What a shame about the wasted potential of this place. The building—a converted former train station—simply deserved more. The concept is just lacking. The breakfast selection is inadequate, with yogurt for €10 or a breakfast set for €20. Sandwiches and baguettes are nowhere to be found before 11:30 a.m. They're only offered as part of the lunch menu. The cakes on display didn't look particularly appetizing. The green tea (they don't have black tea) was awful. We weren't warned that it was flavored. On top of that, the service was mediocre. Building: 5/5 Selection: 1/5 Food: 3/5 Drinks: 1/5 Service: 3/5

My favorite pit stop when I'm in the area by bike, on foot, or even by car. It feels like stepping into history. So nice to stop here for coffee and apple pie, lunch, or high tea. Regular Social Deals, so keep an eye out. 👍☕

I had the pleasure of celebrating my 65th birthday here yesterday. It was a truly fantastic party! Beautiful weather, lovely to be outside! The grandchildren had a great time in the playground. Last Saturday, I celebrated my birthday at Het Tussenstation. Several tables in a waiting room were festively set with gold cutlery and charming vases of baby's breath. Twenty-four people enjoyed a well-prepared lunch, consisting of various sandwiches served on a cake stand. Afterward, we enjoyed a variety of sweet treats. Everything was delicious! What a lovely and atmospheric place. We'd had a drink before, and last night we enjoyed the "stamppot" evening. It was so delicious! Something for everyone, as there was a choice of three dishes and a delicious dessert to finish off. Excellent service and friendly, pleasant staff!

Yesterday we had lunch at the Tussenstation for our wedding. Etageres filled with delicious freshly made sandwiches, homemade sweets, and a lovely welcome drink. Everything was perfectly taken care of, and the contact with owner Marit was wonderful. I would definitely do it again!

We were pleasantly surprised at "Het Tussenstation": lovely decor, great atmosphere, and delicious food. The three separate waiting rooms, all beautifully decorated, create a lovely, authentic atmosphere. A friendly and welcoming chat with the owner also makes the restaurant a great place to visit in Lisse. The food and drinks were good, generously sized, and reasonably priced in these times. We will definitely be back and will definitely spread the word in the Bollenstreek region.

The building is charming and consists of several "rooms" where you can sit comfortably and order something. We ordered a combination of soup and two sandwiches. The good thing: it's delicious. A side note: both the sandwiches and the soup are a bit small. The soup doesn't come in a regular soup bowl, but in a glass jar of questionable dimensions. The sandwiches are somewhere between "appetizers" and "sandwiches" in size. An example of "shrinkflation." The building is charming and exudes history. We were there in mid-January, and it was cold and bleak. The heating couldn't keep up. Warm clothing is recommended. Edit: After hearing from the new owner, we will definitely eat at Het Tussenstation again when we get the chance!

A very cozy and atmospheric restaurant for a delicious lunch or just drinks. We've eaten here several times, and the food is always good, the service is friendly, and the rooms are charming and in a beautiful spot in Lisse. Since they took over, they've organized more events, such as the "Stamppotavind" (a Dutch stamppot event); also highly recommended! I hope they organize more fun events like this, and we'll definitely be back for more great food and drinks!

For my 40th anniversary, I had a lovely dinner here with 20 people. I discussed everything beforehand with Marit, the manager. She made some excellent suggestions, and we made an appointment. We were warmly welcomed by three very kind and friendly ladies. The waiting room was decorated with a lovely atmosphere. My guests were promptly served a welcome drink upon arrival. The three-course menu I chose was delicious, and the plates were beautifully presented. There was plenty of time between courses for conversation, and glasses were filled regularly. The staff contributed to our very successful evening. All my guests were very pleased with the taste and quality of the dinner. Everything went exactly as I expected, including the agreed-upon payment method. We would love to return and highly recommend this restaurant.

Monday evening was the first Stamppot evening at the Tussenstation. It was really well organized. There were three types of stamppot to choose from, along with a meatball or a smoked sausage. The atmosphere was great and the food was delicious. I would definitely come back if there's another evening!

I've already had several wonderful experiences at Het Tussenstation. We enjoyed a lovely lunch with family. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and you're always greeted warmly. Once your lunch is served, it's a feast on your plate. Beautifully presented and a really good portion—not too much, but certainly not too little—just the right amount! It feels like coming home!

I had a reservation for 12 noon, but there was only room near the entrance. Even though we were sitting next to the heater, the icy wind still made me feel cold. It also took a bit too long for my order to be taken. The goat cheese sandwich was okay, but I was shocked by the prices! Terribly expensive for such a minimal meal. It's a shame, because the atmosphere is great! Sadly, it's my last time.

We had lunch, consisting of soup as a starter and then two croquettes with bread. For my traveling companion and myself. What could be so wrong with that? Well, the tomato soup I had was lukewarm, not quite cold. A shame, because the taste was okay. For the sake of my traveling companion's company, I didn't say anything and let it happen. It's a nice, cozy place with friendly service.

The station is nicely decorated, with a first, second, and third waiting room. The lunch was delicious. We were just unlucky enough to encounter a somewhat unpleasant waitress. However, paying with a colleague went smoothly.

A great spot for an excellent cappuccino or iced coffee. Spacious sunny terrace where a train regularly passes. It's called the Tussenstation for a reason; it's a beautiful old building. Children can play safely and have a blast in the playground. The new, super friendly owner has created a wonderful atmosphere. Bravo!

What a lovely place to eat. The carpaccio sandwich was delicious, but I found the teriyaki sandwich a bit too salty. But that's a matter of taste, of course.

On my weekly route from Katwijk to Nieuw-Vennep and back, I often pass this historic location, "Het Tussenstation Lisse." I've checked the website several times, and unfortunately, my favorite Dutch lunch menu, "Uitsmijter," isn't on the menu. Sandwiches are somewhere near the bottom of my list of favorites. A sandwich menu with fried egg, ham, and cheese is higher up as a favorite. As I drive past, I see a nice parking lot and a playground for children. So, who knows, maybe when the menu is updated, I'll stop by for lunch.

Tijdens onze fietstocht op het terras genoten van heerlijke (ijs)koffie en appeltaart. Leuke plek, vlotte bediening en goede kwaliteit. Ook even een kijkje binnen genomen, waar je de sfeer nog proeft van vervlogen tijden. We gaan hier zeker nog een keer heen voor een lunch of high tea!

What a wonderfully cozy restaurant! I've already had a delicious breakfast there. With the best coffee in the region. And mom's Monchou cake is highly recommended! We also had a drinks party later. The staff was truly fantastic! Everyone wanted for nothing. Delicious snacks and drinks! And you can also enjoy a delicious Tulipspritz from the local region here. Highly recommended!! In short, you absolutely have to visit!

Had to look for someone to order something outside on the terrace

Een hele hele nare ervaring, ik was met een dame met dementie die 1 keer in de paar weken een keer iets leuks gaat doen met mij. De wereld is voor haar al verwarrend genoeg. Voor het eerst kwamen we hier, gingen aan tafel zitten werden niet begroet. Eindelijk kwam er iemand, we hebben koffie met appeltaart besteld en kaart gevraagd. Er kwamen meerdere andere mensen later, alles duurde en duurde, uiteindelijk ben ik opgestaan om te gaan kijken waar het bleef. Anderen hadden allemaal al hun drinken staan, en 1 dame van bediening stond gezellig te praten bij de later gearriveerde mensen, het waren bekenden van haar. Toen ik zei dat wij nog niks hadden was haar korte antwoord sorry dat is niet mijn tafel. Een enorm terras vol ik zie haar van hot naar her lopen maar alleen onze tafel was niet haar tafel. Dat het langer duurt vind ik logisch als je met weinig personeel bent maar dat je dus zo doet tegen klanten en ook zo oncollegiaal bent om zoiets te zeggen. Ik wilde er high tea bespreken voor vrijdag maar mij zullen ze daar nooit meer zien. Buiten werd ik aangesproken door anderen bezoekers en ook binnen, deze gaven aan het gezien te hebben en ook zelf niet prettig behandeld waren. Lieve demente dame en ik van slag en onze fijne uurtjes die ze al niet veel heeft verpest door dit vreselijke nare voorval. Bah, elders koffie gaan drinken maar de nasmaak van dit nare voorval heb ik nog steeds en vandaar deze lange review.

What happened here. I had reserved a table to have lunch with a friend. The friend said that when I entered, I got a nod from the head of the service. "With the expression what do you want". She ordered bread with 2 croquettes. €15.00 The croquettes were still frozen inside. In addition, I got 2 sad sandwiches with a small dollop of tuna salad. €15:00. The price-quality has gone downhill a lot. The service was also not representative. We liked to come there regularly. I would have given it another chance now because the entourage is great.

Booked a high tea for today in this beautiful location, arrival went well, neatly got a table, but then the waiting started, after 15 minutes a kettle of hot water came on the table and the lady disappeared again, we had for 3 of the 6 cups, after 10 minutes we asked for cups, these would be brought but we got them ourselves 10 minutes later because they didn't arrive. There were some dietary requirements that were stated when booking and 3 kids, we got the idea that this wasn't going well so this was also passed on on the spot. After 1 hour and 25 minutes the first sandwiches arrived, 6 pieces, great, but without the stated dietary requirements and nothing for kids (would be decorating pancakes) So they took them away again, after 5 minutes the friendly lady came back that they were going to start again in the kitchen, that was 1.5 hours after arrival, we then called it a day, because the children were already fed up and so were we, too, a pity and disappointed, because the guests next to and opposite us also had a high tea and were satisfied and they had already gone home.... despite the high price 3x30 and 3x19 euros (excluding the costs of 2x dietary requirements) we were looking forward to it, but 1.5 with only tea if you come just after lunch (as lunch) is very long.

Nice interior with a good playground for children. But don’t waste your money and order a meal (cup of coffee is a max). The food is nothing special, the service is non existent. We had to constantly chase waitresses (2 very young girls) who seem to not know what is included in high tea. One pot of tea for 5 adults each paying 30 euro for a high tea experience… Half of the things were not delivered. We are not coming back.

Had to wait a long time for the coffee and cake order: more than half an hour! Employees say they will pass it on, but that doesn't work! Checkout also slow. There are some things missing in the communication. It's a shame about this pleasant catering establishment.

Very nice tent, but I added 3 times that I had a dirty glass. There was a lot of stuff floating in it, not very tasty. We waited half an hour for the lunch menu, but after asking twice we left. Too bad, things aren't in order...

You imagine a breakfast for €20, yogurt for €10 differently, cold eggs and not enough of everything

Returning from Keukenhof we stopped by at 16.30, knowing the closing was listed as 17.00 but after initially being ignored, one staff member said "hello" then walked by and closed the gate. We sat down, and eventually someone came and when asked about having coffee, they immediately disappeared and we could see them talking to another member of staff. It was clear they didn't want our business, and as we got up to leave the waitress returned and said something about "but we are closing in 10 minutes". It had seemed like a long time, but it was maybe 16.40. We left. Looking at other reviews, the staff attention to customers does seem to be a shortcoming. Maybe they could change their advertised opening time if they want to close earlier?

Top location, friendly staff, authentic

Had lunch with them 4th, arrival was fine after a bit of waiting our order was taken. The food was on the table quite quickly, the drinks were not yet available and we had to remind the waiter. The order was also wrong, but that would be fine (a side dish was missing). 20 minutes later it still wasn't there. Paid and left.

What a nice place, so full of history. The entire atmosphere of the old Lisse station has been preserved, complete with the waiting rooms. It feels like you are in a very small intimate restaurant. It's also nice that trains still pass by, although they no longer stop here. I first had ginger tea with a cake, later I had a portion of bitterballen with mustard mayonnaise. Everything was very tasty.

Looked lovely. We were hungry after cycling. A waitress indicated where to sit. Unfortunately then we were just completely ignored , staff just walking past us. No one came to take our order for ages. Eventually we just had to give up and we walked out. No one even noticed. What a shame! Nice place let down by terrible customer service.

Sadly the service is absolutely appalling. Forgot half the order didn't take responsibility for it. The staff also rather rude and incapable of admitting they screwed up.

We were planning to have a drink, with something tasty on the side, but we left it at 2 coffees. The requested, and still somewhat affordable filled cookie was not there, and what was there were small pieces, or chunks for a much too high price. Never mind, we can spare the money, but the prices are ridiculously high, and not fun anymore. Not a bad word about the location and the service, neat, and fun. Only more boycotts should be done because of the extremely high asking prices of drinks and something tasty on the side. Maybe then the prices will drop again, and more will be spent ☺️

Nice atmosphere. Not cheap. That's fine, but it wasn't proportionate here. Miniature cola, bottled beer and a handful of chips with a burger costing over 21 euros. In my opinion, at this price point, that should be draft beer and good fries.

A very beautiful old train station that has been converted into a catering station. Each waiting room has its own theme. We only made a quick stop on a bike tour. The tomato soup as a snack was great. There is access via the platform for wheelchair users.

The food itself was fine and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately it seemed very understaffed, because we had to wait a very long time for our lunch and we weren't asked for extra drinks in the meantime. I hope the problem will be resolved.

I went there on a Saturday, it was about 75% occupied but unfortunately that was too much for the staff to handle. We ordered two drinks which came fast but then when we ordered our food (only two club sandwich), it took 45 minutes to arrive and not once did any of the staff members came by, I had to go ask myself. When the food arrived, one of the sandwiches (fish) was completely different from what the menu said which is a big no-no. The price was steep, 15 Euro for a Club Sandwich but the quality is nothing special. The staff was nice when at the table and the ambiance is also nice but this place is in over its head.

The four of us had a nice and enjoyable lunch here yesterday. Pleasant reception and service. You sat in a room at the station decorated with old suitcases and clocks. You also saw the trains passing by. Everything is clean and well maintained. And a compliment to the service. Even though they were busy, they made time for you and the dishes came quickly. Easily accessible and parking.

What a fantastic location.. restaurant in the real old style of the station building.. you will be amazed.. there are several waiting areas where you can eat or drink, so not in a large room.. the food was delicious and certainly enough 👍 the service very friendly! Nice place. Nice playground outside..we were a part of 5. Place was quite empty (less than 25% of the tables were occupied. We were made to wait until they gave us a table (12:00 Saturday noon on a freezing day). We were accompanied into wachtkamer 3 after waitress was looking in Wachtkamer 1 (which had a few empty tables). After sitting and ordering, we were suddenly told we needed to leave as they needed the table (not reseated at another table). Never experienced such a thing before.

Super cozy, atmospheric place for a high tea! We received a varied selection of snacks, tea and drinks and it was all delicious. Two downsides were that it took quite a while before the food was served (about 45 minutes) and even though I had indicated in advance by telephone and on site that I was allergic to tomatoes, I received tomato soup and tomato on all sandwiches. Fortunately, the soup could be exchanged.
