The majestic peacocks that usually parade here had 'a function elsewhere' this time. Their absence was more than compensated for by the extremely friendly staff, 'bubbles & bread' and great surroundings on a sunny terrace. Lunch at its best!

Beautiful surroundings in the vicinity of the castle. Price-quality ratio a bit skewed. 12 euros for 2 brown sandwiches and 2 croquettes, well spicy. And apparently it is already customary here to no longer spread butter on bread or to supply it with it. Could this be due to cutbacks, but in any case it is a plague that affects the entire catering industry. And NO, I shouldn't have to ask for it specifically.

With great respect for the positive reviews, we had a truly terrible experience with Hof van Duivenvoorde. A party organized based on a signed quote was unilaterally canceled by Hof van Duivenvoorde at the last minute, without any real apology. This left us with a lot of negative energy.

A very bad experience: we were supposed to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary here at the end of August. We'd been discussing it since October 2024, constantly talking to different contacts. At the end of May, we received a call saying the party couldn't go ahead, even though we had an agreement! The only gesture was a bouquet of flowers and a suggestion for a different location, Hortus Botanicus Leiden. Ultimately, we had a fantastic party there. But we had to pay a lot more for it! It left us with a lot of negative energy (having to arrange everything again, dealing with the management, while you should be enjoying the anticipation of your party!!). Not a single gesture from Hof van Duivenvoorde to compensate us financially.

Super cozy place to enjoy a nice drink and snack in peace and quiet and surrounded by nature!

We participated in the orchard dinner. This is highly recommended. The tables outside under the apple trees create a very nice and relaxed atmosphere. The food was excellent. We really enjoyed it immensely. Worth repeating.

Demonstratively ignoring the guest's requests, even addressing the waiter personally, is an unforgettable experience that can be achieved in this restaurant. It seems that the waiters have the right to choose whether you are worthy of the service or not. There is an atmosphere of arrogance and an emphasis on class inequality. After 40 minutes they didn't bring us a menu. Finding it ourselves on the Internet, we were faced with a new task: trying to order from the girl waitress. In the end she never accepted the order, it was accepted by another colleague of hers, who we had to ask to take the order. They studiously avoided our table and ignored all attempts to contact us in any way. At the next table there were several more guests - the girl personally came up, brought the menu and asked if they wanted to order. You may be required to wear a tuxedo to this restaurant instead of comfortable walking clothes to receive any service. I've never had such an uncomfortable feeling

You have to pay for a glass of water that is delivered free with your coffee at other restaurants. Not only we thought this was a bad thing, but also other guests. The food is also fine.

Last night we enjoyed a delicious "orchard" surprise dinner that was served indoors because of the rain. Beautiful and delicious dishes in combination with excellent, friendly and attentive service provided us and our guests with a wonderful evening. Thank you and see you next time. Delicious food in beautiful surroundings

If we are in the area again we would be happy to come back. They tried very hard for us. Our 4 dishes were very tasty.

I don't often post negative comments, but boy, is it poorly organized here when it comes to service. Too bad because it is a really nice place. A lot of young 'runners' who only pick up and deliver glasses and only 1 person who can take orders/pay by card. After 20 minutes of not being helped to take our food, we went to the bar to ask if someone could help us. There I immediately heard "There is table service, sit down ma'am, they are coming by" (I really felt like a whiny boomer/Karen because of that, but ok). No one from the service looked around carefully because everyone missed our 'gestures' asking if someone wanted to come by. Which resulted in 2 hungry kids and what should have been a nice Mother's Day lunch. Finally we paid for the drinks and left. A shame because it is a beautiful place with a nice map. Case in point, train your catering staff a little better and give them more mandates and appoint a slightly more senior manager.

The location alone is actually enough. I had a soup and it was fresh and tasted delicious.

Excellent service, nice atmosphere and people, good presentation and the best sausage and gravy appetizer. The sauce is by far the best we've tried.

What a lovely Cafe! Enjoyed a great lunch here. Can recommend the ribeye sandwich and the apple tart. Very friendly staff and in a lovely atmosphere. Would be great to be here in summer to be able to sit outside.

Unfortunately service/hospitality is somewhat mediocre

One of the least hospitable restaurants in the area... we like to walk and we often stop in that cafe. We don't complain when the service is slow and rude, we don't complain when the vegetarian food tastes like meat... but just now we had to leave quickly because the place was booked later that evening. When we said that we would like to have a drink after a long walk, we were anything but understood. We'll stop at another cafe nearby next time!!!

Very good quality of food. The service was very friendly. The atmosphere was good and they have a nice terrace for when the sun shines.

Sandwich was tasty. It was very busy because of the Christmas market. This makes it not so pleasant. Not really a test moment

Went to Taste of Winter. Was very disappointing. I expected more stalls, too busy that there was nowhere to sit to drink or eat something. Yes you could buy something and then eat while walking. Expected more. Drove to Scheveningen and had delicious food and drinks there.

A cozy restaurant at Duivenvoorde Castle. Delicious wine and beautifully prepared dishes. Friendly staff, even on busy days when there is something to do in Duivenvoorde Castle. In summer there is a large terrace in front of the restaurant, and local products are used and sold.

In this lovely area, outside, in autumn, dogs are not allowed, so if you planning on coming with a dog you will be denied entry. No one could explain why

Altijd iets speciaals op het menu en eenfijne ambiance.

Superplek voor een lunch of kopje koffie, leuke bediening en mooi terras.

Wij waren hier op een drukke zondagmiddag. Het gebouw en meubels zien er leuk uit en de ligging is ook mooi. Kennelijk vanwege personeelstekort kan het huidige personeel het niet aan. Overal stond nog vieze vaat van de vorige klanten. We hadden al op een bordje gelezen dat de keuken om een bepaalde tijd sluit (16:45 meen ik). Wij waren er dus ruim voor die tijd en wilden wat bestellen. We moesten lang wachten tot er iemand aan ons tafeltje kwam, ik ben zelfs nog naar de kassa gelopen om hierom te vragen. Toen er iemand kwam en we iets te eten wilden bestellen, kregen we te horen dat dat niet kon omdat het 16:50 was en de keuken nét dicht was. Knap lullig dus als je al een tijdje zit te wachten. Uiteindelijk koffie besteld en een ijsje. De koffie werd geserveerd, om het ijsje moest ik tweemaal vragen. Onze lege kopjes bij de verzameling van alle vorige klanten gezet, want dat was gewoon blijven staan. "Echt gezellig". Allemaal geen wereldproblemen maar alles bij elkaar knap rommelig. Hopelijk wordt het snel beter.

Heerlijke bloemkoolsoep gegeten. Met wat kleine stukjes bloemkool er in.... De bediening was goed en de thee wordt los bij het water bediend zodat je de thee naar eigen smaak kunt laten trekken. Voor de theeliefhebbers is dit perfect.

Extremely unfriendly waiters. Be warned!!! Bad food, it takes hours to get a drink, cheeky teenage waiters, dirty toilet...

Prachtig plekje met een mooie tuin en lekkere zitjes. Het eten is allemaal net niet. Op de fritatta niet zulke appetijtelijk zalm, de grilled chicken sandwich was een redelijk smaakloze tosti waar overigens wel een heerlijk sausje bij zat. De dagspecial was een burrata salade, wat sla met cherrytomaatjes, kool, dressing en pecannoten. Het eten is niet lekker of speciaal genoeg voor de prijs die ze ervoor vragen. De bediening mag echt vriendelijker en alerter. De cocktails waren wel heerlijk.

In de ommuurde tuin heerst rust & bedrijvigheid tegelijk. Het is er gezellig en relaxed. De bediening is goed en het eten is heerlijk en duidelijk van kwaliteit.

Je kan er lekker wat drinken geen poeha figuren, heerlijk koel biertje en lekkere patat. Alleen het toilet daar lag een soort van baby dekentje dat zag er nou niet zo schoon uit!

2e pinksterdag even lekker in de zon op het terras gezeten. Bediening was prima, maar wat een prijzen. Knetter. Voor 2x muntthee en 2 gebakjes moesten we op 40 cent na 20 euro aftikken. Dit hebben we nog niet eerder meegemaakt.

Leuk restaurant gelegen bij kasteel Duivenvoorde. Bediening is perfect. Eten is goed. Leuk uitzicht op het terras.

The good: beautiful surroundings, friendly service, comfortable seating, best french fries ever. The bad: Their €6 glass of prosecco was extremely small, like half of a normal-size glass. And it tasted like the cheap sweet kind. We had ordered drinks, and waited 10 minutes before ordering lunch, because we wanted time to enjoy our drinks first. After a 20-minute wait, we asked the waitress if she had forgotten our drinks. She said she hadn't. Our lunch arrived about 10 minutes before our drinks, so we had to decide between letting the food get cold, or the prosecco bubbles disappear. We complained about the shockingly small glass of bubbly, but were told that nothing could be done about that. The €11 eggplant sandwich tasted like flavourless mush out of a jar. It's a shame that such a gorgeous place does not put more effort into their drinks and sandwiches. We will return for coffee but nothing else.

After cycling from Delft. we were in need of a rest and a bite to eat and were so happy to see this fabulous restaurant. We were lucky the sun was out, and we could sit out and really take in the gorgeous surroundings. We were warmly welcomed and were soon enjoying our coffees in the sun. I had the smoked mackerel salad on toast, which was, in fact, the most gorgeous food I had on my whole trip! Considering all the food we had in the Netherlands was amazing, this really did stand out. My husband had a bacon and cheese sandwich/panini with a fantastic salad & we wish we had room for more! Such a lovely location and such lovely people who run it.

Hof van Duivenvoorde is a fantastic restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere. We tried two types of omlettes, which were absolutely delicious. The presentation of the food was impressive, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel welcome and comfortable. The restaurant is located next to the Duivenvoorde castle. I highly recommend it 👌

Te druk, te weinig personeel, dus te lang wachten. Dan staat de koffie lang op de bar te wachten. Gelukkig wel een nieuwe gekregen!

Prachtige locatie bij Kasteel Duivenvoorde. Lekkere dingen op de kaart, goede service en aardige mensen.

Heerlijk voor lunch of drankje in de zon! Bediening is top! Redelijk snel alles op tafel. Er lopen ook pauwen rond, en kinderen kunnen lekker rennen in het gras

always a pleasure coming to this place. but when ordering food (and you don’t speak dutch), try to order it from older looking waiters. the young man who served us kept speaking dutch with us (so we just pointed at things on the menu, brought my friend something else instead of his order. i’ve been here a few times and all times everything was perfect, so probably that waiter had a bad day or it was his first day.

we hadden voor lunch gereserveerd met 3 personen. Op mijn vraag of het klopte dat er geen kroketten geserveerd werden ( wel frites en bitterballen/kaaskroketten) antwoordde de seveerster dat ze geen cafetaria waren. wij vonden dit een botte en onaangename bejegening. Geen plaats om nog eens met gasten voor lunch of diner naartoe te gaan. Zeker niet aangezien de prijs voor een lunch met 3 personen op €100.00 uitkwam.
