Horeca exploitatie Hutten & Van Essen in Franeker

Friendly welcome, nice and quiet on a weekday Wednesday evening, didn't have to wait long for the wok/grill and such. There was more than enough food; in my opinion, the sushi was simply good and tasty. The rest is a bit standard, though; everything is neat and well taken care of, but regarding the food, nothing really special. We just sat there for a nice while, the five of us, ate and drank well and sufficiently, and the two-hour timeframe is more than enough. So we could take our time; no rushing or long lines at the wok or grill. Empty plates and bottles are cleared away neatly, no need to worry about a thing 👌🏻. Ever in the neighborhood? Just stop by.

Payed for a repeat visit to eat delicious pizzas there again.

A long, jet-black hair coiled up in the mustard, very clearly visible on the plate; strange that it wasn't noticed by the chef or wait staff. When I mentioned it, she just said "oh," took the plate away, and brought it back a moment later; no apology! That was the worst part. A very nice courtyard, though.

It was a huge disappointment this time; we are used to much better from them. The fries were tough, the 'berenhap' was a charred meatball with burnt onion, and the 'kikastick' was tasteless, sticky inside with a very thick layer of dough or something around it. In short, we didn't have a good meal. We will never order from here again, because this wasn't the first time it wasn't good. It all went in the bin.

A very good bakery with excellent products, and incredibly friendly staff. However, the hygiene, especially the cleaning of the bread tins, really needs improvement. Too often, brown bread residue is mixed in with the white bread, and that's truly disgusting!
