I'm not one for writing reviews, but I will now. Our visit to your restaurant yesterday was so disappointing! We ordered a glass of wine and a glass of port, and neither was even 2 cm full. When we asked for the second glass of wine to be slightly fuller, a loud waitress informed us that this wasn't possible because it was outside their standard. There went our privacy, and the other tables fell completely silent. Quite embarrassing. €7.50 is a fair price for a glass of wine that wasn't even 2 cm full. And in my opinion, you shouldn't serve an oblong port glass with less than 2 cm. The food was okay, though. The starter was excellent and plentiful. The pizza was much smaller than we're used to, the size of a wrap.

The food was excellent. Original menu, good quality. We'd eaten here before, and were completely satisfied. That's why we brought guests yesterday. We found that so embarrassing. The waitresses were not only unfriendly but also incredibly arrogant. And bad. Such a shame and so unnecessary. Next time, we'll go back to the Stadsherberg. They do have good and friendly staff there.

We ordered lasagna, and before we even got a starter, an hour had passed, so that was already a long time. The main course tasted fine, but the portion was really small. We mentioned this to the waitress, but she ignored it. When we were paying, they even asked if everything was to our liking. We told them we weren't full at all. They told us this was the national lasagna size. But I've never had it this small anywhere else, so I can't imagine it. So, we won't be back unless there's some compensation or adjustment. For 75 euros for two people, I expected more. Disappointing.

Very nicely located in the center of Franeker, within sight of the beautiful town hall. We know the restaurant from our numerous visitors to the city and have always been very satisfied. This time was our first visit since the change of ownership. And it was the last time. Why? After ordering and receiving our drinks, we had to ask for the menu. We were able to order 15 minutes later. A small appetizer of bread with dips arrived fairly quickly, but the food didn't arrive until an hour later, after we asked. And then it wasn't what we ordered. It can happen. The actual meal arrived another 15 minutes later and was simply disgusting: Spaghetti Carbonara. The sauce was slimy. And who puts onions and arugula in carbonara? Especially for children? My daughter sat in front of her plate with tears in her eyes. And that was after a total of over 90 minutes of waiting. We then ordered dry pasta with Parmesan cheese so that at least there was something to eat. My pizza was okay. Our conclusion? A quiet restaurant with guaranteed enjoyment has become a clear no-go.

We spontaneously dropped in for pizza for two. That day, the famous handball tournament was underway. We were lucky...we were able to get a table inside right away. The pizzas were delicious (frutti de mare and carpaccio), and the glass of wine was also excellent. The young staff, mentioned in a previous review, were fantastic...red-cheeked, they were running around like crazy, even asking if everything was okay and remaining friendly even when they had to turn people away because it was so busy. The girl who had clearly just started must have been amazed. They even found time to give her some doable tasks in between.

Four weeks ago, I ate a top-quality pizza from a traditional wood-fired oven in Italy, and it cost €14.00. Here, the pizza tasted quite good and cost €18.00.

The food was sublime!! Young chefs who know what they're doing. And what a great menu with the Naked Haver recipes 😍. Vegan, gluten-free, everything is possible. I personally found the service adequate, but too young and lacking in hospitality (language, etc.). Food and drinks were on the table and ready. But the food is more than worth it. So, highly recommended!!

We didn't get around to eating. We arrived at 5:30 PM. A group of 10 people and 4 of us were going ahead of us, no one else was inside yet. After a long time we asked to order something to drink, but we had to wait a while because it was busy according to the youngsters who were serving. We also had to wait 45 minutes to finally be able to order food. When the food was finally taken it was already a problem, the cheeky girl said that it was busy with take-away pizza. When we said that this is not normal for guests who are in the store she said, Should I now pass the order on to the kitchen, or not... So we immediately got up and left. The inexperienced and cheeky girls in the service certainly don't understand that we are guests and not dogs. Outside of this we spoke to the owner about it and informed him about it. They have to make a clear choice, whether to be a take-away center or a restaurant. Sorry for a hard-working young entrepreneur, but he must make a clear choice about what kind of business he wants to run in the pleasant centre of Franeker.

Endless waiting times. Tough pizza with almost impossible to cut “Frisian” ham, a meat dish that consisted entirely of sea. Didn’t pay for that either. A big disappointment…

Nice Italian restaurant, excellent menu and friendly service

Friendly staff, nice restaurant inside, kitchen in the middle of the restaurant, delicious food. Had lasagna portion a bit on the small side compared to other Italian restaurants we have visited. But tasted good and the pizza was very tasty. Good soil. Desserts were often with alcohol. All in all a good and tasty meal

With the new owner it is a change that we experience as very positive.

I have eaten at Toscani again for a long time now. Unfortunately, our experience was not as positive as before. After we entered we were quickly asked what we wanted to drink. Then they forgot about this until they came by with the card, which took quite a while. Map was not large but promising. We certainly had a nice meal, but the quantity was a bit disappointing; We thought almost 30 euros for a main course that fits on a breakfast plate was very high. Again, it tasted good, but it looks quite sparse, so I would like to see it served with some side dishes, just for the experience.

Hartelijk verwelkomd, snel onze drankjes gekregen. Maar het duurde enige tijd voordat we een menukaart kregen. Tegelijk met de menukaart bestelden we broodjes met smeersels die werd kort voor het hoofdgerecht geserveerd. De hoofdgerechten voor 7 personen werden netjes tegelijk geserveerd. Een aantal vonden hun hoofdgerecht niet heel warm.. Porties waren voldoende en netjes opgemaakt. Het dessert was lekker en mooi opgemaakt, maar misschien wel iets te mooi opgemaakt? Prima gegeten, voor herhaling vatbaar.

Na de bedrijfsovername is de kwaliteit beter geworden. Topkoks die voor een Girault waardering gaan. Enthousiaste gastheer.

Altijd heerlijk eten en top bediening. Wij komen hier al jaren en ook afhaal is superlekker. Naast pizza's ook volop keuze in andere verrassende italiaanse gerechten. Ga zo door !

Besides the fact that we had a delicious meal (I had the pizza Toscanini and for dessert the Torta Tiramisu (both highly recommended), our food was also served by a very friendly, social and helpful gentleman. You can take a detour for this.

Good Italian cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. The service was great and we spoke good German and English. Be sure to order bread before eating, it came with three types of spreads and a poem.

Had a delicious meal at this Italian restaurant. Fresh ingredients are used and you can taste it! Plates are beautifully laid out. Dishes are extremely surprising, it is anything but a standard Pizzeria. The courtyard garden is also lovely. Drinks menu is nicely varied. Staff are friendly and hospitable. Definitely worth visiting often.

A quality step higher than a few years ago. Surprising herbs are used and then the food becomes special. We'll be back

Delicious food! Both pizza, risotto and pasta. I ate pasta filled with pear and cheese. Add Frisian pork belly. Surprisingly tasty! The desserts are also delicious. Excellent meal! Service 4 stars: we did not receive a card immediately. There was some doubt about changing a dish, but after asking in the kitchen it was no problem. No carafe of water was served at our request, only Spa blue/red. Would you like a glass of wine with the white wine...?!? The light is pleasantly dimmed in the restaurant, but it was a bit difficult to read the black menu in low light.

The food is really very good in a nice atmosphere. It would have been perfect for me if my portion of lasagne had been a little larger.

Birthday celebrated with 40 people in the garden. The weather was lovely and we had delicious food and drinks. Highly recommended for celebrating a party. Of course we had the weather with us. Staff was great. The guests were also enthusiastic and thought the location was great. Can only be positive.

We have been disappointed a few times. The non-alcoholic aperitif was far too sweet and spicy for many due to the large amount of ginger. We also ordered a pizza Fantasia, a so-called chef's fantasy. Unfortunately, the chef didn't have much inspiration and it was a mixture of the entire range of pizzas, just a lot of ingredients on a pizza base.

We had a delicious meal here, my partner had a Pizza Nicola, which tasted spicy but delicious, I had pasta filled with ricola and pear with a delicious sauce. Nice seats inside and also affordable. The service is nice and smooth.

We have now eaten at Toscanini 3/4 times. The food is very tasty and you get good portions. But where are the staff? I understand that it is very difficult in these times and with the low catering salaries to find good employees, but every time we went to eat it took a very long time before we got our drinks, once we had them on the table we had to you still have another 20 to 30 minutes before you even get a card. Once you have ordered (in our case this was already 1 hour and +- 15 minutes later) it goes quite smoothly. You see that the people in the kitchen do their utmost to put everything on the table as quickly as possible while maintaining the quality. I understand that you want a full restaurant, but if you don't have the capacity on the floor for that, you have to think twice. As I already indicated, this always applied to our case and we will not be coming back. A shame because the food is very tasty.

One of the best pizza I have ever had and believe me I have ate in Milano, Rome, Pisa, Napoli, Palermo and Venetia. Congretulations to your chief, is one of the best!

Food is delicious, wine is also fine. But with a meal of around 75 euros it is not possible to get a carafe of water with your meal. A mini glass is possible, but will not be offered to you automatically. Ultimately it will be on the account, albeit for 0 euros. It would behoove this restaurant to deal with this more generously. No costs, lots of goodwill.

We had a wonderful evening on the beautiful terrace, beautifully located behind the restaurant. Enjoyed the very tasty starters, mains and desserts, we would love to come again.

We hebben al vaker hier gegeten, of pizza's afgehaald en zoals altijd waren de afgehaalde pizza's nu ook weer erg smakelijk en mooi belegd. Wat we wel jammer vonden: thuis, bij nadere bestudering van de kassabon bleek dat er 0,50 op stond voor een plastic tas. Ten eerste is ons niet gevraagd of we een tas wilden, ten tweede vinden we 50 cent wel wat duur voor een wit plastic tasje. Tip (ook voor onszelf ;-) neem zelf een tas mee of doe het zonder. Misschien doet Toscanini het met opzet: zodat we het wel laten om een plastic tas te gebruiken. Maar wees daar dan wel eerlijk over en vraag klanten of ze een tas willen of niet. Op deze manier lijkt het op een verdienmodel.

Everything was better in the past? We have been coming there for a long time and regularly with our family, friends and acquaintances. Now it looks more like a karaoke bar with an Italian twist. We went there for a fun evening with tasty pizza, but what we got was a sing-along concert of rowdy guests pretending they were in a marquee instead of a diner. We wanted to have a normal conversation with our family but the deafening singing of our fellow diners drowned out everything, even the waiter who might have attempted an apology. As if that wasn't enough, the staff seemed to encourage rather than curb the situation by continuing to serve trays of beer to the noisy brigade at the next table. So, if you're looking for a place to enjoy a good meal and a relaxed atmosphere, I'd recommend going elsewhere. Unless you're into a free karaoke experience while you tuck into your pizza, then this is your place to be. But for me? I'm sorry I went, I would have rather eaten a supermarket pizza at home on the couch, instead of someone trying to make my ears bleed with fake notes. I don't actually remember whether the pizza was tasty, I ate it as quickly as possible to leave. My first 1-star review ever...

Meat and fish eaten quite well, but hardly any vegetables. Fries plus Mayo not home made. Tiramisu didn't taste like anything and was mainly ice cream. Service not unfriendly but rude. Had dinner there last summer with a larger group and it was fine. New owner?

Prima restaurant, alleen jammer dat de kaart kleiner is geworden. Hierdoor zijn er best veel lekkere pizza' s en pastas niet meer beschikbaar. Waaronder mijn favoriete pavarotti pizza. Het is aan te bevelen om te reserveren. Bediening is prima en ook het eten is goed. Kortom een leuk restaurant.

Food was good. Solid italian pasta which tasted good until the last bite. Also enjoyed the fact that you could choose your own pasta kind with the sauce. Only let down was the speed of the staff and the way they handled the menus. We had to wait a bit before getting a drink and 15min later they brought out the menus to us, while the restaurant wasn't even filled for a quarter. Overall good and would go again when in town.

Auch der rote Hauswein hat absolut perfekt zur Pizza gepasst und dessen Geschmack zusätzlich intensiviert. Service ⭐⭐ | 5/5 Ausgesprochen freundliches Personal. Sehr aufmerksam, zügig und auch die Wartezeiten waren angemessen. Hier fühlt man sich als Gast wirklich wohl. Ambiente ⭐ | 5/5 Etwas dunkler gehalten, jedoch für ein italienisches Lokal perfekt.

Het is al sinds jaar en dag een familietraditie om zondagen af te sluiten met een lekker wijntje en een heerlijke pizza van Toscanini. Nu het stokje daar door gegeven is aan een nieuwe eigenaar, die ook een flink aantal van zijn jeugdjaren in onze woonplaats heeft doorgebracht, waren we erg benieuwd of hij de lat hoog kon houden. Het doet ons dan ook deugd dat wij vandaag ondervonden dat de lat zelfs nog iets hoger getild werd. Heerlijke dunne en knapperige bodems en royale toppings van verse en goede producten. Wij hebben wederom gesmuld en blijven terugkomen!

Zu zweit als Schwestern machten wir in Franeker Urlaub und fanden diesen schönen Italiener. Ganz fantastisches Lokal, sehr freundliche Bedienung. Die Pizzas aus dem Steinofen waren hervorragend. Die Auswahl ist einfach großartig. Das Dessert war ebenfalls gut. Eine Empfehlung für Freunde, Paare und Familien - für jeden ist etwas dabei. Als Vegetarierin würde ich auf der Karte auch schnell fündig. Sehr gut!

Vrijdagavond een heerlijk avondje uit eten geweest ter gelegenheid van de 2e verjaardag van onze zoon. Naast ons tafeltje was een speelhoekje aanwezig waardoor wij een zeer geslaagde avond hebben gehad. Onze zoon kon tussen het voorgerecht, de pizza en het toetje (wat hij overigens zelf mocht maken in de keuken!) heerlijk spelen en wij konden zelf daardoor ook genieten van het eten, de sfeer en een avondje uit als gezin. Mega leckeres Essen, wir haben Pizza gegessen und ich war begeistert. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.

Vorige week toevallig hier langs gekomen (we komen niet uit de buurt) samen met onze 2 kinderen en we werden erg gastvrij ontvangen. Het eten was super en ook voor de kids hadden ze wat lekkers gemaakt. Goede wijnen en echt goed belegde pizza's. Al met al dus zeker de moeite waard om langs te gaan als je lekker Italiaans wilt eten!

Het eten is matig en de gastvrijheid laat te wensen over. De pizza's zijn erg zout en veel te dik belegd. De bodem was wel goed. Het verschil tussen een gewone pizza en een kinderpizza is te groot. De kinderpizza is net wat groter dan een pita broodje. De wijn was prijzig maar de kwaliteit niet over naar huis te schrijven. Bovendien zijn de glazen erg zuinig gevuld. Ook een glas water bij de wijn of koffie is je veel gevraagd. Je moet een fles bestellen. De sfeer en aankleding van het restaurant is wel goed en het personeel behulpzaam.

Heerlijk eten, vriendelijke bediening en gezellige ambiance. We komen er iedere maand en het stelt nooit teleur. Gewoon top!

Gezellig restaurant met prima pizza's. Vooral de tuin aan de achterzijde is een fijne plek om te zitten op een warme zomeravond. Het was wel druk op zaterdagavond, maar zonder reservering konden wij terecht. Het personeel is jong en vriendelijk

Eerder zo lekker gegeten. Deze keer viel de pizza 4 formaggi een beetje tegen. Niet vies. Maar niet zo geweldig lekker als de vorige keer. Wel super vriendelijke dame in de bediening. Lekker terras achter. En lekkere koude drankjes. Maar weer eens terugkomen en misschien is het dan wel weer beter.

Wat hebben we hier enorm lekker gegeten. En wat een leuk personeel. Absoluut een dikke aanrader. Voor ons zeker voor herhaling vatbaar! Ik zeg bedankt voor de gezellige en goed verzorgde avond!!!!

Je kunt er echt heerlijk eten maar vroeger waren de pizza’s wat dikker en beter gevuld. Bijna €200,- voor 3 volwassen en 2 kinderen… en ergste nog steeds honger… (zelfs na 1,5 pizza). Personeel wel altijd vriendelijk.

De wijnkaart was beperkter dan het alfabet uit Sesamstraat, supermarktwijn ook nog eens. De bedieningsdame had gelukkig een rode broek aan want haar humeur liet meer doorschemeren dan wat met die kleur broek haalbaar was. Het eten; Ik wou dat ik shoarma had besteld, in de zon had laten liggen en in de gracht had gegooid. Dat was de betere keuze geweest. Gelukkig was het vlees goed, althans en integendeel tot hoe de salade rook.

Hier serviert ein freundliches Team leckere Pizzen und Nudelgerichte. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und sind gut satt geworden. Es gab Lasagne und Salami Pizza, beides echt prima. Preise allerdings etwas gehoben…

Gezellig en sfeervol restaurant. Ook de muziek is goed gekozen en niet te luid, wat bijdraagt aan een romantische sfeer. Het eten was voortreffelijk. De pizza was rijkelijk gevuld, maar niet te vol, waardoor het echt genieten was. De bediening was erg vriendelijk en liet duidelijk weten wat wel en niet inbegrepen was bij het door ons gereserveerde menu. Dat was heel erg fijn en daardoor was de rekening achteraf geen onvoorziene verassing.

Pizza gehad met veel vlees. Smaakte heerlijk. Vriendelijk personeel. Vlotte bediening.
