Hummus Ta-IM in Binnenstad-Noord

Good food for an affordable price. Great portion size, not small at all.

Normally, I'm always very satisfied. Until January 28th! That day, there was a new employee, who immediately said I was lucky because he had just made a shakshuka, so I wouldn't have to wait. But I did have to wait, at least as long as usual. Then, I was served an incomplete meal because the bread wasn't ready yet. And this, even though you eat this dish with bread. The olive and pickle mix was also missing. The strangest part was that the spinach was completely raw, the dish was lukewarm, and it was watery. Hunger makes raw beans sweet, and the bread was good, so I ate it all. I did ask if the spinach was supposed to be raw, which he confirmed. I had eaten it six months earlier as well (see photo), and it was fine then. It's a shame the employee lied about the spinach being raw.

The food was great! I got the cauliflower hummus bowl and my partner chose the chicken version, both were super tasty. The kids were also happy especially with the small white breads.

Hummus Ta-im is a wonderful new addition to Leiden‘s culinary landscape. The portion size is more than decent and will fill you up. The prices are what you expect in NL. The Shakshuka we had surprised me with some lovely sweet notes and perfectly poached eggs. The feta they use for it is delicious. The spinach leaves took me some time to manage, being quite large and some with still long stems. For me they could have been chopped down more finely, but its not a bad addition to this dish in any way. The Hummus Falafel we also had likewise surprised with some light sweet notes. The Humus was great and creamy. The Falafel were great in texture and flavour. Everything was served with 2 types of pita bread, which makes for welcome diversity, some pickles (which were a bit intensely pickled for my liking, but great flavor) and shug sauce. Overall a super pleasant experience, plus we got to bring our lovely dog. ❤️ We will be back.

The best, chewiest brownies I've ever tasted

We ate Hummus with onions and mushrooms, and hummus with chicken and both dishes were really good.. In addition the hospitality and service were great and very welcoming Highly recommended!

Delicious Hummus, toppings and sides. The Falafel was also super delicious and authentic! Felt very welcome and the team was warm and friendly. Would definitely recommend and hopefully be back soon😁

The best falafel you can get in Leiden, delicious fresh hummus served with piping hot pitas, crispy chips… everything I’ve had here so far was delicious. Friendly staff, too. Portions are good, so far every time I’ve been too stuffed to be able to try the coconut dessert but maybe next time.

Such a pleasant surprise finding this hummus shop 🤩 The hummus was heavenly with the hot pita! The veggies were a flavor explosion, and the fries were super fresh! Also really nice staff! I want to go back already 🥲 especially since there were not to many other vegan options in Leiden

I must say this has been by far the most delicious Middle Eastern food I have ever tried. The hummus, falafel, salad, shakshuka and Pita bread are exquisitely delightful providing a symphony of tastes that tantalize the palate with each bite. And don’t forget the brownie. You won’t forget its taste.😍 I certainly recommend this place if you’re looking for the most delicious food at a lovely and pleasant atmosphere.

Best hummus in the region! We did not dine-in because we were in rush, but it was so delicious. One suggestion that I will love to see is in having more options of pickles or even have 'specials' such as hummus with schnitzel.

A very nice and new of its kind business in Leiden! Delicious, the food we had delivered! A small point for improvement: the long eggplant peel could be prepared a little softer, but we still found it a bit on the tough side.

Super tasty dishes with hummus. I had the hamshuka: a delicious poached egg with hummus, vegetables and pita bread with delicious sauces. This is definitely recommended. And.. the falafel is perhaps the tastiest in Leiden.

It is hard to find both delicious and authentic middle eastern food around here. If you're looking for that, look no further, Hummus Ta-Im is the place to be. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures since I was too much enjoying the food. Pictures of other reviews are very accurate and display the sophistication and quality of the products offered perfectly.

We had the shakshuka and 3 hummus dishes. The food was delicious, and the hospitality was even better.

The food is amazing, however you are not welcome in the restaurant wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh. While I was dining here, 2 customers wearing the keffiyeh were rudely denied service. For that reason I’m not coming back EDIT: your reply makes me believe you know exactly what situation I am talking about. Then you should also know that at the time there weren’t any employees in the restaurant, only the 2 owners

I thought I knew falafel, but after eating the falafal freshly made by Rachel I realized I didn't. So, yeah best falafal I have eaten so far. Very kind people too. And the chairs are comfy.

Middle Eastern food at its best. I came today for the second time, this time with an Indian friend and a Colombia friend, and they absolutely LOVED the food, and even took takeaway at the end. I highly recommend the Shakshuka and the Hummus with the slow-cooked chicken. Delicious! 😋 For vegetarians: don't miss the hummus with mushrooms and onions. The fudge and Malabi at the end are a must.

Since I moved to Leiden, i'v been searching for all the new exotic food. I got here with high expectations and most of them were met. When they told me I need to check the Humus, I didn't think I would like it. I know very well what an authentic Humus taste like.. and this Hummus dish tasted JUST THE WAY GOD INTENDED. The Sinya was exceptionally tasty. The coffee was a surprising success.. even the kids thaught so.. (just joking) If you ever want to "jump" to a different time zone for a quick lunch, that's totally the place to go. The food was too tasty. Didn't take pictures.. Ben is amazing!! See you soon man!

Fantastic fresh food, delicious dishes, great desserts, and the place is clean and friendly. I came for lunch with my daughters. The friendly Ben reserved a table for us and was very helpful to help us choose from the menu, because everything looked so good. We had 2 types of hummus, with meat and with chicken. Both extremely delicious. I was having shakshuka, and can honestly say that this was the best shakshuka I have ever had! On the side we took falafel. Wow. Fresh and full of herbs, just like I like it. For dessert we took the malabi which was great and not with too much rose water but the best was the vegan brownie. To die for! We couldn't resist and took some takeaway hummus to take home for my husband. In one word: delicious In 4 words: We'll be back!

After seeing so many happy reviews we decided to eat in before a concert. The owner was lovely and inviting and the food just heavenly. I had the hummus with sakshuka. The egg was perfectly poached and the dish totally yummy. The aubergine-tomato dish (forgot the name) was also very tasty! We loved the pita bread and side dishes as well. We also tried the coconut pudding. The falafel was almost out so they gave us a free one as appetiser. It was a lovely meal made even better by the great owners who clearly have put in a lot of love and effort. Recommended +++++

Se had takeway yesterday evening. Absolutely loved. The hummus with chicken was full of flavours and delicious, but my favorite was the aubergine siniya with mince beef and lamb, so well seasoned and flavourfull, and don't forget the falafel!!! We are definetively going back 😉

Finding out a hummus place opened in Leiden was already an amazing surprise. But being able to actually experience hummus as I do in Israël is on a whole other level. The staff is incredibly friendly and is very willing to explain if you have questions. The drinks are amazing (highly recommend the ice tea) We will definitely be back over and over again! For those familiar with the Israeli Pitas, definitely visit this place. The Pitas were so fluffy and delicious.
