Too bad for words! After an hour and many questions, we finally get our food, and it's cold!

If I could give zero stars, I would! We waited over an hour for the food, and by the time we got it, it was cold and soggy. The fries were half raw! This is definitely not recommended!

Long wait times and little communication with customers. No personal attention, but a nice decor.

Very bad restaurant in terms of service, the guy at the till was very rude and not welcoming to the customer. When I asked him why he was like this , he said he was alone to do the work. I understand but thats not my fault as a customer that they are understaffed and I and other customer don’t deserve this attitude. Also Atmosphere was bad, the ventilation did not work properly and you could see smoke and feel it as well inside. Food, in contrast, was not okay (Not fantastic but just okay fast food) but just because of the service I am not going to come here anymore.

The food arrived after an hour and two requests. The food was cold. They didn't treat us as guests. We didn't get any drinks. Next time, I'd rather wait an hour at McDonald's than endure this service.

Our first impression of the restaurant was excellent, with a nice decor and friendly staff. The food was a bit bland; the meat tasted better with the sauce. The fries weren't great either; they lacked flavor. The price-quality ratio wasn't up to par for us. The women's restroom was quite disgusting: dirty seats, no toilet paper, unpleasant odor, etc. We weren't offered another drink after ordering, and we weren't even asked if we wanted dessert. It was also noteworthy that our drinks came in a glass bottle with a straw, not a glass. When we paid, there was a dish on our receipt that we hadn't ordered; after we pointed it out, it was politely removed from the receipt.

We had a reservation for 8:00 PM for four people through Social Deal. We could even book until 10:00 PM. Upon arrival, the restaurant was completely empty. We were escorted to a table. We were given the menus and told that we couldn't order more than half of the menu items because we'd booked too late, the kitchen was about to close, and everything was gone. This meant we had to order the starter and main course at once. The food, however, was very good. The staff was rude and rushed. This negatively impacted our opinion and experience of the restaurant. It's a shame that we didn't receive a call after our reservation that the kitchen was about to close. Because of this experience, I won't be returning to this restaurant. It's a shame how we were treated, because the food was good.

The tomato soup was watery and had little flavor like it was diluted with a bunch of water the spaghetti was overcooked and the meat tasted weird the burger was dry and the fries weren’t crunchy the food also looked vastly different than the menu and the only thing I enjoyed was the atmosphere don’t recommend

Bad service and too expensive, food was cold and testless

Very bad service, the Kurdish woman who works there, very rude, she didn't do her job, she looked angry, she left our table dirty, we asked to clean it, but she didn't respond and our order was wrong, very unfortunate.

Take tomato soup, it tastes like warm juice, there is rubber cheese in the pizza, it feels like the chicken in the pizza is cooked, the plates are chipped, the whiskey is not tasty, it was served with a crumb of ice, and it immediately melted in the whiskey, I would never go back

The food was terrible; none of the four dishes we ordered were worth it. The steak with Paris sauce was bland, and the sauce was clearly from a bottle. The rice was tough. The pasta Bolognese was stiff, and the pasta arrabiata is out of the question; it made me want to throw up. Next time, I'd rather skip dinner than eat at this place again.

Everyone complains about it, but it's actually quite good. Lots of things could be better, but the food was just okay. It's strange that you don't get a glass with your drink, and you get a straw in your soda... It sprays everywhere. Having a starter and main course at the same time is also strange without any explanation. The interior feels like two different worlds: heavy graffiti upon entering, and a nice, chic, and luxurious atmosphere in the back. Chicken nuggets were €13... A bit crazy when McDonald's is around the corner for half the price 🤣 I also think €8.50 for a slice of cake/pie for dessert is way too expensive. The food was fine, (fortunately) bought through a social deal, but we won't be back. Good luck!

A very disappointing experience. The food seemed old, the tea glass was dirty, and the sandwich only had a slice of cheese. There was no cutlery or sugar on the table, and we weren't offered a plate or drinks for the children. The service was very poor. We won't be returning.

The service was terrible. We didn't get our drinks, my girlfriend's food was cold when we got our cutlery, one of the waiters was very rude, then ignored us, and when we tried to ask a question, the waiter said "okay" and walked away. We will never eat here again; what a catfish restaurant. Don't go here. It's not worth your money; they're stealing your money.

What a disappointment. I'd been twice before and had a good meal. This time, it was a complete disaster. A huge mood-killer. My wife and son were practically finishing their food. Finally, after repeatedly asking and promising, "It's coming," my pizza arrived. Finally, the pizza arrived. Chicken pizza. But the chicken had been watching from a distance and flew off. The pizza was inedible. It only had pepper on top, and the rest was a big lump of dough. After two bites, I'd taken a bite and left the pizza. I was incredibly grumpy, but the staff didn't care. When asked at checkout if the food was good, I told them it was inedible. The waiter didn't respond. Never go here!

I wrote something earlier. I'm back at Icon now. Because I work irregular hours. Yes, definitely still positive. A few people came in for a quick bite to eat. They asked if everything was alright. I heard it was. Otherwise, it's nice and quiet for me, because I have a busy job; I appreciate some peace and quiet with some nice music. I can't say what it's like on weekends because I haven't been there. If I happen to be free on a Saturday evening, I'll definitely stop by.

Never expected to be catfished by a restaurant. The photos on the menu are misleading and the food makes the visit not worth it. Frozen grocery store pizza puts in more effort: their Margherita pizza lacked all the promised toppings and was so light on sauce, my boyfriend needed to eat a whole tomato after the experience to make up for it. My ravioli pasta was very watery, and cold, and pathetic. If vibes are all you're interested in in a restaurant, you found your place. But, if you care about food, do your pallette a favour and order something else on the menu or just eat somewhere else.

Not even a smile, not even saying "bye"... Easiest things to cook like burgers or pizzas... Just horrible

High tea via social deal. Mainly a lot of greasy puff pastry snacks and a meager bare roll with egg and cucumber. Totally not what you can expect when you read the social deal. Furthermore, bad service that was mainly busy persuading you to give a 5 star review on google, and a very dirty toilet that smells of pee and of which the floor was wet and sticky. In short, bad experience and never back.

Very rude staff, waited 15 minutes for order to be taken while personal was just walking around. Food was tasteless, plate was more decorated with garnish than food.

They didn't come by or ask if we wanted more drinks or ask if the food was good. The server was very friendly when taking our order and the place had a nice interior.

It was nice and quiet when we entered and we could immediately sit down and order. The staff was nice but didn't seem to be that keen, but we all have days like that. The food was nice and fast and was of good quality, the chicken could have used a bit more seasoning. The portions were really just right in terms of size! The best restaurant in Hoog Catharijne! This place is incredibly clean with a very lovely and welcoming staff. We went there as a group, and everyone enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious, but for me, the highlight is truly the staff — they are so kind and make you feel right at home. Highly recommended! From Stella with love.

On the April 20th 2025 we had lunch with my mom ya child at a neighbouring Mado restaurant and were advised to use toilet at Icon, since there was no toilet Mado restaurant. The host bar who worked in both Mado and Icon let us go to the toilet in Icon. After using toilet we were charged 1 euro each person (me,my mother and 7 y.o. daughter) for using the toilet! I explained that we are your clients from the neighbouring Mado, as you saw us, but it was not acceptable. I asked not to charge at least from the child. With unexpressed meanness and greadiness that "lady"host took my 2 euro payment, knowing that we are customers of the neighbouring Mado restaurant, where we had just been eating lunch! What a shame! Turkish hospitality of Mado restaurant was ruined in one second!

I am only giving the one star because google wouldn’t let me put zero!! The staff was extremely rude, food was expensive and delivered cold, don’t be fooled by the pictures the actual dish has nothing to do with that and I’m not only talking about quality of the meat that looks like it was already cooked a couple of times before but also the sauce looks like it was took out an old mustard bottle , when I talked to the staff about the cold and bad food I was faced with an extremely rude waitress, who not only said that the food wasn’t cold but also started yelling and talking very disrespectfully!! Never again

Good, good food with amazing service; very friendly!

I have no experience with this location yet, but when I read the reviews, I don't feel like going there anymore. I actually wanted to go here, because I assume it has a nice view, but I don't read anything about that. I can hardly find any pictures of this online either. I found a Facebook page, there is a small unclear video on it, but no videos/photos with which they can sell themselves well. I don't know if the owner of this location is also allowed to post comments here about the bad reviews they get? Then they could at least give a response, but I don't see that.

Don't go here! Save your money because this tent is not worth it. Restaurant stinks of smoke, staff is not exactly friendly and somewhat clumsy. Out of all the tables that were empty and clean, we were given a dirty table in a corner. No explanation of what the high tea dishes were. The high tea sandwiches were dirty, the sweet dishes were fine again. We only received a pot of tea halfway through the high tea, after having to ask for tea twice. The women's toilet is very dirty

We had lunch here and were very positively surprised by the quality and the price-performance ratio. The food came after a reasonable wait. We sat very comfortably with a view of the canal and the trillions of cyclists. The staff only spoke moderate English, but were attentive and friendly. Highly recommended if you are in the mall.

We had high tea. The snacks were ok, not quite as expected for a high tea. There were a lot of Turkish snacks such as baklava, etc. It was sufficient and tasted OK, after all we had a cheap 'social deal', so I didn't expect much from it. Tea was fine, but only came after we had had the snacks on the table for a while. The tables were very large, which made it not very pleasant. The service was friendly, but spoke little English, when I reported that the ladies' toilet was very dirty, I don't think they understood me....

Sorry, it was a disaster. They were cleaning with chlorine while we were eating. Unfortunately, the food looked better than it tasted. Cats have no business in a restaurant either.

Don’t order the Pollo a la Café de Paris, it is truly the biggest scam in the history of scams. €23 euro for a thin slice of chicken fillet and a bit of fries. Looked nothing like the picture presented on the menu, you’ll get more sauce than chicken. Sauce color was completely different as well. You can get the same dish in the supermarket for like €5.

We order burger and salmon dishes. Both had poor taste, not recommended. Also the service was not that good, no one is smiling or welcome. We did not enjoy our dinner.

Right from the moment me and my friend entered, all the staff helping us seemed kind of awkward and they forgot to give us our utensils, for example. As other reviews mention, the music was really loud and was actually turned up even louder shortly after we entered. It even kept playing Spotify Free advertisements throughout the whole restaurant. Very unprofessional. I ordered a burger while my friend ordered a pizza dish. Our drinks and my friend’s pizza dish were quickly delivered to our table but I had to wait at least another half an hour for my burger. One of the men of the staff kept telling me it would be there soon. He said “two more minutes” while it still wasn’t there five minutes later. It took a really long time and what I got didn’t even seem to be a burger, at least not one like the menu described. The man from before did offer to have one of my drinks on the house, but it didn’t change that the meal itself and my time there were honestly disappointing. Terrible tent. When ordering, a slight discussion with the server. By the way, I was right smart both times. Drinks served after 20 minutes. Pasta not as in the photo. The waitress's grumpy face with barely a word coming out. You can ask 10 times and they say it's coming, for example a take away box. But what if you stand for 1 second near the cash register waiting for your daughter who is on the toilet? Then they see you and jump right in and ask you if you want to pay. Man has already paid tuthola. 1 time never again!!!!!

Not recommended! Firstly, the staff is very unfriendly and not interested. We had tzatziki as a starter and we actually got the sandwiches straight away, but the rest of the starter didn't arrive until about fifteen minutes later. When she brought the rest of the starter she asked (translated into Dutch:) “Whether it was bad that we got the main course straight away because it was already ready. We didn't want that and when we finished the starter, the main course was immediately served and what we had ordered was quite meager and cold! Not even lukewarm, but it was really just cold! We said something about it and we got exactly the same plate with the food on it back a few minutes later, which was probably just put in the microwave because we had already eaten a bite from it, we saw that. The after dish was fine, but could have been better. (We ordered with Social deal) but it is definitely not! Recommended.

We went there as a large group (5) since they were the only ones with space, no wonder why Out of pizza for an Italian place (???) portions were tiny (it's pasta, your margins are insane) and the manager was really trying to keep us there. Bizzare, go anywhere else

Before you read this review, this was written about a year ago. I saw a few days ago that my review was not displayed and was labeled as fake. This is genuine, I assure you. We won't be going back. It wasn't horrible, but there were so many things that could have been better. The music was too loud, noticeably too loud. I asked for it to be turned down, and it was ... for a while. The music was Spotify, to include commercials, which you really don't expect to hear in a restaurant. The height of the table was most definitely too high, at least three centimeters too high, which made eating my meal an annoying challenge. My wife sent back her pasta dish because it wasn't hot enough. We're not people who normally send food back, just so you know. The atmosphere of the place was lacking. There was plastic ivy in rather considerable amount present in the restaurant. I can't imagine they get much repeat business. I have the feeling everything in the restaurant - the tables, the chairs, for example, were bought second hand. Everything just had an old look about it. My Caesar salad was fine, it was just everything else about the place that made the experience one I'd like to forget. Like I initially wrote, it wasn't horrible, but it could have been much better ... just a few minor adjustments would have improved the atmosphere. The prices were very reasonable but I'd rather pay more not to have to write a review like this. I can't imagine this restaurant will survive.

The food was tasty, hot however, it wasn't. The case looks beautiful out but the service is dramatically bad. Long wait for the staff when they come over, once you get your food they no longer come by to ask if you want anything to drink pick up your plate.

As a starter we both had Tzatziki, we got a saucer with some Tzatziki thrown on it with 1 basket of some baguette. In the meantime, the clerk was cleaning around us, while we still hadn't gotten a drink. Our main course soon followed, still without a drink. Minutes later the waitress came with our drinks, she 'forgot'. The food is otherwise okay. While one of us was still eating, dessert was already brought and our plates were even taken away. The young man had also taken our cutlery and then no one came to bring cutlery. After waiting more than 10 minutes with a melting dessert in front of us, I went to get some cutlery myself. Later the clerk came by again to tell us that she had 'forgotten' our cutlery. Very strange, especially because there were only 4 tables occupied and there were 3 staff members sitting at a table, doing nothing. The only positive thing was that we were a bit early and were allowed to take a seat right away. Definitely won't be coming back, too bad.

We had reserved 2 weeks in advance and came with a group of 9 people. we arrived and the place we had been given was too small.. then we all wanted a cocktail, because it's a cocktail bar. but they came back 10 minutes after taking our order saying they suddenly had no ingredients?? strange story and lost profit. The food came quickly, but because they have so many different things, nothing really stands out and it was quite mediocre. Well, the music was on disadvantaged neighborhood mode and the volume was on a setting for the hearing impaired. Now after 15 minutes of being home my stomach also feels restless, great, that's also possible. What a fiasco, never go there, not even with your worst enemy!

Service was OK but the food was totally overpriced. We thought we ordered two main courses to share but it was definitely two starters. A ceasarsallad does not become a ceasarsallad just because you pour loads of ceasar sauce over some lettuce and a small piece of chicken. A soda is only 200ml! Wanted some more food to get a full meal, but bought that elsewhere.
