Had dinner here with a friend, the lady in the kitchen was very friendly and also served the food. The food was delicious! We found the service disappointing. There were four tables in the restaurant but still had to wait 25 minutes before we could order. Ordering drinks in between was also a difficult task

Nicely decorated, but a very cramped, awkward space. Great location and nice outdoor seating. Recommend for drinks, that's about it.

Overall, very nice place. Simply cosy and beautiful to be in. We had a team event and opted for a shared menu, which had vegetarian versions for all the dishes. It was too much tempeh for me though.

We booked a fantastic cocktail workshop here through SocialDeal, including delicious snacks. It's a super fun and cozy venue, with friendly staff, delicious food, and great cocktails. We'll definitely be back!

Cocktail in a glass as big as a child's glass. Basically a shot, but still €10.50. I don't think it's right. Also, it closes early on a Friday night. The last time I've been here.

This time the food tasted a little less delicious than the previous times and the cocktail also tasted different. Not as it should be. Maybe it was too busy but unfortunately the service was also different outside.

Did a cocktail workshop here with two friends. Surprising cocktails, nice story by the staff and a cozy, not too big club. I would recommend it!

I went there with my friend and we had a lovely time! The cocktails were great and so was the food. But the most important, the waiters were super nice, they recommended cocktails and made space for us in a nice table. Thanks Francesco and Julia :)

Delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly staff! Easily make a reservation for me and my friends via email. Super friendly staff and delicious food. My only criticism is that our table was sometimes overlooked, so you sometimes had to wait a little longer without food or drinks. But if you just walk to the bar to get someone, you can of course solve this easily :) Overall a very nice & tasty experience!

Always a pleasure to go to spicy monkey. Been 5th time now. And suddenly I have a bad feeling. Service was mediocre. It was friendly when you finally had contact, but the hospitality was hard to find... they just didn't see you. Shame. And then the food... shrinkflation... a lot of money for little food. Then don't call it street food because that means the opposite. Lots of food for little...taste was good, but a spring roll for almost a tenner is really mind-blowing...it will be a while before I come back.

A little too many tables, but the food was tasty! It's not nice that they work with a 2 hour time slot, you kind of feel like you have to hurry...

I made a reservation but when I arrived they didn't have any places left. Told me I made the reservation too late. Don't let people make reservations if you can't keep them.

The cocktail are very nice and the stuff is super cute but the smell of the kitchen I’m sorry but is so horrible all my clothes including my winter closets smell like old oil so I would recommend do something about it as at some point it was really unpleasant to seat there !

All the food we ordered was very tasty and the restaurant is very nicely decorated. Just a pity that we ran out of bintang beers. But Spice Monkey is definitely recommended!

You should go on Fridays, the bartender is amazing!!

The food was tasty although, served on a cold plate, almost cold. The portions are too small and incomplete.

This restaurant stimulates your senses. Food is surprising and delicious, service was (despite the crowds) personal and jovial, and the decor is Instagrammable. Due to the crowds inside, we sat on the terrace.

Excellent quality food and a good introduction to Balinese cuisine. The service is friendly, the waiter poured us a glass of water several times for free.

Had a very nice meal tonight at Spice Monkey. A very hip tent; with lots of plants, atmospheric lighting, attractive wallpaper, etc. Also nice music in the background. The quality of the food was very good, we especially liked the rengdang fries, the Bao Buns with pulled pork and the spekkoek (dessert). Also very extensive cocktail menu and friendly service.

Love the variety of cocktails and the staff is also very helpful and friendly.

De zaak ziet er leuk uit, maar daar is alles dan ook mee gezegd. Personeel heeft geen oog voor de klanten, zowel bij binnenkomst als eenmaal aan tafel leken we onzichtbaar. Een tafel afruimen was ook teveel gevraagd (dit heeft ongeveer 30 minuten geduurd). Kwaliteit van het eten is matig, erg vet en veel gefrituurd. Geen aanrader, helaas.

Lekkere hapjes voor een nette prijs. Cocktails waren goed, maar duurden erg lang. Hebben 20-30 min gewacht per bestelling. Bediening zeer vriendelijk. Muziek zou wel wat hipper kunnen.

Geweldig restaurant, het eten is geweldig, de sfeer top en de cocktails lekker. Heb hier een prima diner mogen genieten. Je moet wel op tijd reserveren, Eendrachtlaan omdat het restaurant gezellig klein is zit het snel vol.

Drankjes duurde te lang. Er was helaas geen glutenvrije opties op de gehele menu. Wij hebben het bij drankjes gelaten die oprecht wel goed waren gemaakt.

The food was pretty allright! Pandan crème brûlée is highly recommended.

Great attention to details with their coctails. Friendly & professional service. Portions are small and food is okay to good. Overall recommended.

Het idee is leuk… Maar de werkelijkheid is anders. Dat zit hem vooral in het personeel, de ‘gastheer’ staat liever soepel te doen bij willekeurige tafeltjes dan dat hij echt oog heeft voor z’n klanten. Ook het andere personeel is niet bepaald attent en we hebben letterlijk voor elke bestelling of vraag iemand moeten aantikken of zelfs halen. Niet best! Het eten is verder enorm wisselend van kwaliteit, verwacht hier geen wonderen. De prijs is daar overigens wel naar, je betaalt meer dan een tientje voor één bao bun. De cocktails zijn oké, maar daar is ook alles mee gezegd. Tot slot is de inrichting leuk in thema en afhankelijk van het licht best gezellig. De muziek staat wel erg hard. Voor ons was dit de eerste en laatste keer.

Een half uur moeten wachten op de cocktails. Het eten arriveerde eerder dan de drankjes. Dat lijkt mij niet de bedoeling. Verder was het eten prima maar niet spectaculair.

SPICE MONKEY Leuke nieuwe aanwinst voor de Biltstraat! Beter dan de tapas die er daarvoor zat 😉 Rendang was erg lekker, iets teveel kruidnagel. We zijn ook op Bali geweest en eten t veel en dit was (bijna) een top 3-tje! (Iets minder kruidnagel laat m in de top 3 stijgen 🤩). Nasi kuning iets te hard/droog, wel lekker van smaak. Rendang kroket, wel lekker, maar beetje saai, we mistten de rendang erin. Pangsit lekker, zat gamba erin, (was de vlees taster, dus let op als je geen vis eet!, proefde alleen meer naar kip dan gamba 😆 Lilith saté lekker, satesaus was beetje saai Pork belly lekker, mocht ietsje meer smaak hebben Sayur lodeh lekker, beetje crispy. Bediening was erg vriendelijk, attent en snel. En je krijgt gewoon gratis water op tafel, niet zoals bij de dag ervoor bij Carmel Market dat je ervoor moet betalen 😖 Op de site kan je nog niet reserveren, binnenkort wel, maar wel telefonisch 😉 bel dan wel via t nr van Google Maps en niet de site 😆 Met de kleine verbeterpuntjes hadden ze eigenlijk 4,5 ster moeten krijgen, maar we waren blij verrast over t eten en de bediening dus gunnen ze toch de 5 aangezien je geen halve kunt geven 😉 We komen terug!

Leuke nieuwe plek op het hoekje van de Biltstraat. Het is een leuk concept en het interieur is mooi. De manager is een erg aardige gast en de cocktails zijn erg lekker.

Honestly we loved the previous restaurant in this local and we didn’t come really convinced. But once we stepped in we really liked the change. The new design of this restaurant is quite pretty. The food was perfect, for 25 euros we tried many different dishes and the amount was also great. 100% recommendable!
